과학 교사 모임에서 초임 교사와 경력 교사의 상호 작용에 대한 사례 연구 (Case Study of Interaction between Novice and Expert Teachers in Science Teacher Association)

  • In this research, we observed the co-works among novice and expert science teachers who were involved in a science teacher association and explored their interactions. The science teacher association is K-12 science teachers' gathering near Seoul. This study is a case study with the participant observation and the private interview of 8 novice teachers and 3 expert teachers. Based on the collected data, interaction between novice and expert teachers was categorized as seven types; question and answer, demonstration, presentation, co-working, providing materials, listening, and showing interest. Several factors supporting such an active interaction were derived from this study; 1) Teachers perceived well about the importance and the merits of co-working with other science teachers. 2) The open and cooperative environment of the science teacher association supported teachers' interaction. 3) There were tasks that teachers needed to co-work such as the science fair and the science camp. 4) There were opportunities of interactions for publishing books and developing modules. 5) Lots of expert teachers were willing to help and co-work with novice teachers. We found that novice teachers could continue to grow in terms of the professional development under interactive, continuing and cooperative environment with expert teachers.

Suggestions for the Work of Dental Hygienists and a Reflection of Health Insurance Charges according to Demographic Changes

  • Given that the demand for dental care for elderly individuals is expected to increase according to demographic changes, long-term roadmaps for the current health insurance system should be actively planned. The study aimed to investigate the health insurance system in Korea, compared to that of Japan, and suggest directions for the work of dental hygienists to provide basic data on efficient improvements in the health insurance system. Based on the collected data, the website was used to collect additional related data from Korea and Japan. The most common cause of death in Korea was malignant neoplasms, and most patients were hospitalized for diseases and disorders of the musculoskeletal system and connective tissue. Dental care covered by Korean medical insurance for individuals aged 65 years or older was treatment oriented, such as dentures and implants, while in Japan, treatment-intensive items, such as visiting a dental hygienist for guidance and provision of home-care professional oral hygiene treatment, were covered. The percentages of remaining teeth in Korea and the percentage of remaining 20 teeth were 68.9% in those aged 65 to 74 years and 51.2% in those aged 75 to 84 years in Japan. A strategy for promoting oral health among elderly individuals should be established, and a multilateral intervention approach is required to prevent oral problems from leading to deterioration of whole-body health. The role of dental hygienists in providing comprehensive assessment to elderly individuals is important. In order to provide systemic oral care, it is necessary to introduce oral care systems according to the national policy.

산업간호사의 역할 경험 (Occupational Health Nurses' Role Experiences)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe the role experiences of occupational health nurse. The research question was "what are daily experiences in practice?" Methods: The data were collected through the focus-group interviews with nine occupational health nurses and analyzed by the grounded theory of Strauss and Corbin (1998). Results: The core category on occupational health nurse role experience was named as "struggling alone with the dual role". The causal conditions included 'unfamiliar area' and 'new work'. The contextual conditions included 'overload of work, 'tasks beyond OHN job' and 'disharmony with colleagues'. The intervening conditions were analyzed as supportive factors and discouraging factors. There were action/interaction strategies 'getting information about tasks', 'working as a professional', 'establishing a cooperative relationship', 'seeking help' by trying to regulate the phenomenon. Finally they succeed in 'establishing the identity' and 'feeling proud', but sometimes they could be 'suffering from low morale', or 'considering turnover'. Conclusion: Through these results, it can be explained that occupational health nurses have been exerting themselves to establish their role with various situation through the conflicted context. Based on the findings, we suggest developing the diverse continuing education programs to be tailored for OHN's needs and reinforcing the occupational health services under the legal and political support.

질적-양적 연구방법론의 혼합에 의한 의료사회복지사의 소진탄력성 및 소진위험성 척도개발 연구 (Creating and Validating Scale of Resilience to Burnout and Scale of Burnout Risk with Mixed Methods)

  • 본 연구는 혼합방법론의 탐색설계 중 척도개발모델에 의거하여 소진탄력성척도와 소진위험성척도를 개발하고 그 과정에서 산출된 자료들의 의미를 탐색하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위하여 척도개발모델 1단계에서는 선행 질적연구를 통해 도출한 의료사회복지사의 소진 보호 및 위험요인에 기반을 두고 각 척도의 내용을 구성하였고, 2단계 양적 연구 단계에서는 의료사회복지사 185명의 조사자료를 분석하여 척도들의 구성타당도와 신뢰도를 검증하였다. 확인적 요인분석 결과 6요인 31문항의 소진탄력성척도와 6요인 27문항의 소진위험성척도의 구성타당도가 검증되었으며, 두 척도의 신뢰도는 소진탄력성 0.92, 소진위험성 0.90으로 나타났다. 더불어 각 척도 및 하위요인들 간의 상관관계 분석을 통해 소진탄력성과 소진위험성의 속성 및 관계에 대한 분석을 제시하였고, 인구사회학적 변인들에 의한 조사 결과도 살펴보았다. 이와 같은 혼합방법론에 의한 척도개발과정을 통해 현장의 목소리를 최대한 반영하면서 수량적으로도 타당도와 신뢰도가 검증된 척도를 개발할 수 있었다.

트라우마 센터에서 근무한 사회복지사의 소진과 이차적 외상 스트레스 경험에 관한 질적 연구 (A Qualitative Study on the Burnout and Secondary Traumatic Stress Experience of Social Workers who Worked in Trauma Centers)

  • 본 연구는 트라우마 센터에 근무한 사회복지사들의 소진과 이차적 외상 스트레스 경험을 이해하기 위한 실체 이론 개발을 목적으로 한다. 근거이론을 통해 자료를 분석한 결과, 초기코딩을 통해서 159개의 의미단위, 47개의 하위범주, 그리고 12개의 범주를 구성하였다. 초점 코딩에서 중심현상을 '상처받은 존재성'으로 보고 '사회복지사로서의 자리 찾기'를 핵심범주로 정하였으며 이를 중심으로 연관된 범주들을 연결하였다. 이론적 코딩 결과 트라우마 센터에서 근무한 사회복지사의 소진과 이차적 외상 스트레스 경험 과정은 사명기, 갈등기, 침체기, 해체기로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 재난복지실천에 대한 준비, 트라우마 치유 관점에 대한 논의 및 합의, 그리고 소진과 이차적 외상 스트레스 예방과 대처를 위한 프로그램의 필요성을 제시하였다.

기혼여성의 재취업 구조에 관한 사례연구 : 전업주부 재취업훈련 참가자를 중심으로 (Married Women's Return to the Workforce : Findings from the Participants in a Reemployment Training Program)

  • This study was conducted to help develop women's human resources and promote married women's return to workforce. Using various data, we examined the patterns of Korean women's economic activities over the lifecycle, career discontinuation and return to the workforce. We also interviewed twenty full-time housewives who wanted to return to workforce. The interview questions included reasons for seeking employment, desired working conditions, and difficulties in finding a job. Major findings are as follows: First, there were two groups with respect to reasons why they want employment One was an economic need such as earning basic living expenses and supporting the family. The other was self-realization and social participation. Second most women wanted to do unskilled labor such as housekeeping work, whereas some young or well-educated women looked for a professional job. Third, married women preferred part-time jobs, which were compatible with their family care demands. Most of them wanted a workplace located close to home. The women with child-care responsibility preferred working at home. Fourth, regarding difficulties of returning to workforce, they pointed out vocational ability problems due to their career discontinuation, social prejudice such as gender discrimination and psychological pressure in maintaining work and family at the same time. In order to promote employment of married women, it is required not only to change social prejudices but also to increase effectiveness in policy implementation. In addition, counseling for job-search and vocational ability training programs should be provide.

대구지역 관광호텔 조리종사원 실태와 직무만족에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Realities and Job Satisfaction of Hotel Cuisine Employees)

  • This study is. aimed to investigate the realities and the job satisfaction of hotel cuisine employees to be occupied with the special grade of tourist hotel in Daegu. As the factors of job satisfaction for the cooks, the 5 items such as social reputation, job itself, human relationship with co-workers, the chance of promotion, and the stability of company and benefits were selected. And 21 subitems of them were also chosen. The 154 persons of all were examined in this study. For the establishment of the factors in the area of job satisfaction, the methods of Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ analysis and factor analysis were carried out. The propensities of employees and the differences of job satisfaction were examined by using x$^2$-test method and one-way ANOVA respectively. 1. In the area of males professional cooks were 89% with respect to age, 51.9% were found to be under 25 years of age which constituted the largest age group. 96% of the cooks had graduated a high school or had a higher education Those who had four or more years of cooking experience were 46.8% which constituted the largest group, while about 30% had less than one year experience. Approximately 50% of the cooks earned an average of less than W700,000 per month. Among these cooks most worked for western type food establishments. Even with their higher education, we found that their work term is short and their income, low.2. In the research on job satisfaction, the survey result found was in the order of: social security, the work itself, human relationships with their fellow cooks, the chances of promotion, and job security and benefits with index-values of 4.59, 3.98, 3.18, 2.94 and 2.52 respectively.

Exploring Occupational and Behavioral Risk Factors for Obesity in Firefighters: A Theoretical Framework and Study Design

  • Firefighters and police officers have the third highest prevalence of obesity among 41 male occupational groups in the United States (US). However, few studies have examined the relationship of firefighter working conditions and health behaviors with obesity. This paper presents a theoretical framework describing the relationship between working conditions, health behaviors, and obesity in firefighters. In addition, the paper describes a detailed study plan for exploring the role of occupational and behavioral risk factors in the development of obesity in firefighters enrolled in the Orange County Fire Authority Wellness Fitness Program. The study plan will be described with emphasis on its methodological merits: adopting a participatory action research approach, developing a firefighter-specific work and health questionnaire, conducting both a cross-sectional epidemiological study using the questionnaire and a sub-study to assess the validity of the questionnaire with dietary intake and physical activity measures, and evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of the body mass index as an obesity measure in comparison to skinfold-based percent body fat. The study plan based on a theoretical framework can be an essential first step for establishing effective intervention programs for obesity among professional and voluntary firefighters.

사서교사 이미지가 학교도서관 이용자 만족도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (The Effects of Teacher Librarians' Images on the User Satisfaction of School Libraries)

  • 본 연구는 이용자들이 사서교사에 대해 어떠한 이미지를 가지고 있는지 알아보고 그 이미지에 따라 학교도서관 이용자만족도를 알아봄으로서 학교도서관 활성화방안을 제시하였다. 조사방법은 서울, 경기지역 10개의 중, 고등학생을 대상으로 설문과 심층면담을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 사서교사의 이미지유형은 전문성있는 이미지와 적극적인 이미지, 단순한 업무이미지로 분류되었고 전문성있는 이미지와 적극적인 이미지는 학교도서관이용자만족에 정(+)의 상관관계를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났고 단순한 업무이미지는 부(-)의 상관관계를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 사서교사와 이미지와 학교도서관 만족도는 학교도서관 재이용의사와 추천의도에서도 유의한 영향을 보여주었다. 사서교사이미지와 학교도서관 이용자만족을 높이기 위해서는 사서교사의 적극적인 태도와 전문성을 신장하려는 노력이 필요하고 이용빈도가 낮을수록 사서교사의 이미지를 단순한 업무이미지로 보고 있으므로 이용빈도를 높이기위한 다양한 독서교육이 필요하다. 본 연구는 사서교사이미지가 학교도서관 이용자만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 미침을 파악하고 학교도서관 활성화를 위한 개선방안을 제안했다는 점에서 의의를 가진다.

소방공무원의 외상 후 스트레스 장애 관련변인에 관한 체계적 문헌고찰 (A Systematic Review of the Variables Related to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in Firefighters)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 소방공무원의 PTSD 관련변인들을 체계적 문헌고찰을 통해 알아보고자 하였다. 한국교육학술정보원, 국회전자도서관, 국가과학기술정보센터, 한국의학논문데이터베이스를 통해 문헌을 검색하였고 검색 용어는 PTSD, 외상 후 스트레스, 외상 후 스트레스 장애, 소방공무원이었다. 총 146편의 문헌이 검색되었고 그 중 10편의 문헌이 본 연구의 주제와 부합하여 분석되었다. 분석된 10편의 문헌은 모두 상관관계를 연구한 비 실험 연구였다. 정적상관 요인은 연령, 근무기간, 외상사건 경험, 출동횟수, 경험한 외상사건 종류의 수와 강도, 업무 부담감, 대처방식, D유형 성격, 정서조절 곤란, 우울, 분노반추, 부적상관 요인은 회복탄력성, 사회적지지, 자아존중감으로 나타났다. 향후 소방공무원의 정신건강 증진을 위해 PTSD의 보호 변인인 회복탄력성과 사회적지지, 자아존중감을 향상시키는 전문적인 중재 프로그램 구성이 이루어져야 한다.
