시스템 생태학적 접근법에 의한 가막만 패류생산의 지속성 평가 1. 가막만 패류양식의 에머지 평가 (Sustainability Evaluation for Shellfish Production in Gamak Bay Based on the Systems Ecology 1. EMERGY Evaluation for Shellfish Production in Gamak Bay)

  • This research outlines a new method for evaluation of shellfish production in Gamak Bay based on the concept of EMERGY. Better understanding of those environmental factors influencing oyster production and the management of oyster stocks requires the ability to assess the real value of environmental sources such as solar energy, river, tide, wave, wind, and other physical mechanisms. In this research, EMERGY flows from environment sources were 76% for shellfish aquaculture in Gamak Bay. EMERGY yield ratio, Environmental Loading Ratio, and Sustainability Index were 4.26, 0.31 and 13.89, respectively. Using the Emergy evaluation data, the predicted maximum shellfish aquaculture production in Gamak Bay and the FDA (Food and Drug Administration, U.S.) designated area in Gamak Bay were 10,845 ton/y and 7,548 ton/yr, respectively. Since the predicted shellfish production was approximately 1.3 times more than produced shellfish production in 2005, the carrying capacity of Gamak Bay is estimated to be 1.3 times more than the present oyster production.

하수처리수의 방류를 받는 하천감조부에서의 N2O생성 (Production of Nitrous Oxide in Tatara Estuary Receiving Treated Wastewater)

  • 본 연구는 부영양화되어 있는 하구감조역에서의 $N_2O$생성과 거동을 파악하는 것을 목적으로 도시역에서의 N2O발생에 착안하여 그 중에서도 인위적 임팩트가 크다고 판단되는 하수처리수 생활폐수 등이 유입되는 도시하천감조역을 대상으로 현지 정점조사를 실시하여 수역의 사계절에 걸친 각 질소성분의 농도변화와 flux를 상세히 파악하고 저질간극수 중의 연직분포를 측정하였다. 그 결과, 완혼합이고 염수쐐기설(楔)가 형성되는 Tatara천(川)에서 하수처리수는 해수의 혼합형태의 영향을 크게 받고 고농도수괴(水塊)로서 표층을 이동하고 있으며, 이 수역의 질소변환기구 및 $N_2O$생성과정에 큰 영향을 미치고 있는 것이 밝혀졌다. 이 수역에서 관측된 $N_2O$농도는 1.8-20.9 $\mu M$로서 대기중의 포화농도와 담수중의 포화농도를 고려하면 항상 포화농도상태이며, 주발생원은 수역저토였다. 저질간극수 중의 각 질소성분의 농도분포는 호소와 인근해역에서의 분포와는 달리 분자확산 이외의 수송경로가 있다는 것이 시사되었다.

Fodder Supply in Cold Season in Gobi Nomadic Area, Mongolia

  • Fodder supply condition was studied at 41 nomadic families in Gobi, Southern Semi-Desert area in Mongolia, from Dec. 1994 to Apr. 1995 to determine problems in cold, feed deficient season for establishment of sustainable livestock production system. The conditions of two family groups: those located in sparse vegetation (FG1), and those in comparably dense (FG2), were also compared. Commercial concentrate feed (concentrate), hay and Zoodoi were prepared for supplementation. Zoodoi was hand-made feed made mainly of Allium mongolicum and Allium polyrrhizum. Allium mongolicum tended to be used at FG1 frequently, and Allium polyrrhizum at FG2 depend on differences of micro vegetation. 44%, 90% and 39% of families prepared 165.6 kg of concentrate, 301.6 kg of hay and 6.8 kg of Zoodoi per sheep and goat (small livestock) on the average, respectively. The ratio of families that used concentrate at FG1 was smaller than those at FG2, though there were no significant differences on the amount. More hay was fed at FG1 than at FG2, and Zoodoi tended to be fed more in the FG1 group. Recipients were mostly restricted to young, female and sick small livestock that use the feeds effectively. More families gave concentrate and hay to the young than to the females and sick. They also gave more Zoodoi to young and sick animals than to females in this area. In the FG1 group, no differences were found between recipients on the concentrate supply. More families supplied hay to young animals than to sick ones, and Zoodoi was fed more to sick animals than to young and females. On the other hand, those in the FG2 found, more families fed fodders to young than to female and sick regardless of the kinds of feeds. The amount of fodder supplementation in the studied area was restricted, but accurate techniques of nomads to adapt the situation were clarified.

대서양 한-가나 합작법인 소속 다랑어 선망어선의 조업실태 분석 (Analysis on the fishing conditions of tuna purse seiner belonging to the Korea-Ghana joint venture in the Atlantic Ocean)

  • The research was analyzed the catch data of the five years (2016-2020) for six joint venture company tuna purse seiners in the Atlantic Ocean, with the aim of suggesting improvement measures for responsible and sustainable fishing according to changes of recommendation by International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tuna (ICCAT) on the tropical tunas. In the last five years, the average catch of six tuna purse seiner gradually increased to 7,745 tons, 8,364 tons and 9,053 tons from 2016 to 2018, but decreased to 7,761 tons in 2019 and 6,214 tons in 2020. The reason for the decrease in fishing volume in 2019 and 2020 was the fluctuation of the formation of the cold water zone (22-23℃), and the total ICCAT convention area of FAD closure in January and February due to the expansion of the FAD closure area and poor free school catching during two months period, respectively. The analysis on fishing area showed that the percentage of fishing in the high sea was about 85% although the FAD closure area included the EEZ zone in coastal countries; the rise of the fishing license in coastal countries is also believed to be a factor. In order to overcome such situations and improve catching volume, it will be possible if excellent manpower is secured, school fishing is expanded, and the production of high value-added catch (purse seine special: PS).

Market weight, slaughter age, and yield grade to determine economic carcass traits and primal cuts yield of Hanwoo beef

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the relationship among market weight, slaughter age, yield grade, and primal cut yield in Hanwoo. A total of 403 Hanwoo (Korean native cattle) was assessed for carcass traits such as carcass cold weight, backfat thickness, ribeye area, dressing percentage, yield index, and marbling score. The production yield of the individual major primal cuts of Hanwoo beef was also measured. Carcass cold weight, ribeye area, and backfat thickness, which affect meat quality increased with increased market weight (p < 0.05). The production yield of the ten major primal cuts also increased with increased market weight (p < 0.05). In terms of slaughter age, carcass cold weight, ribeye area, and backfat thickness all increased from 25 months to 28-29 months, and the production yield of all prime cuts also increased with increasing slaughter age. According to the meat yield grade, carcass cold weight and backfat thickness increased from grade A to grade C, although the ribeye area was not affected. The combined findings of the study suggest that slaughtering Hanwoo at the weight of 651-700 kg and 701-750 and age of 28.23 and 29.83 months could be desirable to achieve the best quality and quantity grade of Hanwoo beef. However, the positive correlation of carcass cold weight and backfat thickness, and the negative correlation of the yield index according to primal cuts yield indicated that it is necessary to couple the slaughtering management of cattle with improved genetic and breeding method of Hanwoo to increase the production yield of the major prime cuts of Hanwoo beef.

쌀 가공처리에 따른 쌀 맥즙 및 쌀 맥주의 품질특성 (Quality Characteristics of Rice Wort and Rice Beer by Rice Processing)

  • 우리나라에서 쌀(Rice, Orzya sativa L.)은 주식일 뿐만 아니라 다양한 가공식품원료로서 그의 가치가 높은 식품자원이다. 본 연구는 쌀맥주 제조 시 당화가 잘되는 쌀의 전처리 방법에 대해 탐색하고자 수행되었다. 쌀을 미세분쇄, 수침처리, 볶음처리, 호화처리, 팽화처리 후 맥아와 함께 당화를 한 결과, 팽화미를 함유한 맥즙이 가장 높은 당도(°Bx)를 나타내었다. 또한 액화 및 당화효소를 첨가하지 않고, 맥즙을 제조 시 쌀 30% 첨가했을 때 당도가 가장 높은 결과를 나타내었다. 볶은쌀과 팽화미를 이용하여 10, 20, 30% 첨가한 맥주를 제조한 결과 팽화미를 30% 첨가한 맥즙의 가용성고형분이 15.4 °Bx로 가장 높고 당화도 잘되었으며, 맥주의 알코올함량이 5.0-5.4%로 볶은쌀 첨가 맥주에 비해 높았으며, 탁도가 없었고 쓴맛도 적은 결과를 보였다. 팽화처리는 쌀의 당화를 개선 할 수 있는 좋은 가공방법이라고 생각되며, 팽화미를 첨가한 쌀맥주 제조방법은 편리하고, 좋은 품질의 맥주를 생산 할 수 있는 방법 중의 하나라고 기대된다.

동적패널모형을 이용한 천해어류양식 생산에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석 (Identifying Factors Influencing Fish Production of Shallow-sea Aquaculture Based on the Dynamic Panel Model)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify factors influencing fish production of shallow-sea aquaculture in South Korea. This study employed the two-way fixed effect and random effect models based on the panel models and also the difference between GMM and system GMM models based on the dynamic panel models using the amount of fish farming production, the number of stocked fry, the number of cultured fish, the amount of inputted feed, the farming area, the number of workers, and the sales price data from 2010 to 2017. First, the two-way fixed effect model of the panel models was selected by panel characteristics, time characteristics and Hausman tests and also the model was statistically significant. As a result of the two-way fixed effect model, the number of stocked fry, the amount of inputted feed, and the number of workers were identified as factors that increase the fish production of shallow-sea aquaculture. However, the number of cultured fish and the sales price were analyzed as factors that reduce the fish production of shallow-sea aquaculture. Second, the system GMM model of the dynamic panel models was selected by Hansen test and Arellano-Bond test in order to identify whether or not the over-discrimination condition is appropriate. Based on the system GMM model, the number of stocked fry, the amount of inputted feed, the number of workers in this year and 1 year ago, the number of cultured fish 2 years ago, and the sale price 3 years ago were analyzed as factors that increase the fish production of shallow-sea aquaculture. However, the amount of fish farming production 1, 2, 3 years ago, the farming area in this year, and the number of cultured fish in this year and 1 year ago were identified as factors that reduce the fish production of shallow-sea aquaculture. In conclusion, this study suggests that it is desirable to control the amount of stocked fry rather than to expand the farming area for fish farming in shallow-sea aquaculture, so as to keep the sale price at a certain level by maintaining the appropriate amount of fish production.

국내 일본잎갈나무림의 자원량 및 목재생산 잠재량 분석 (Analysis of Forest Resources and Timber Production Potential of Larix kaempferi in South Korea)

  • 본 연구는 국내 일본잎갈나무림에서 법적·물리적·환경적·기술적 제약조건을 적용하여 실제 목재생산이 가능한 면적을 산출하고, 이를 대상으로 향후 50년간의 자원량과 목재생산 잠재량을 최적화하였다. 연구결과 전체 일본잎갈나무 면적(259천ha) 가운데 목재생산이 가능한 면적은 124천ha(48%)로 분석되었다. 향후 일본잎갈나무림에 대한 자원조성 및 관리 노력이 뒷받침되지 않을 경우, 안정적 목재생산을 담보하기 어려운 것으로 나타났다. 일본잎갈나무림의 목재생산 잠재량을 확대하기 위해 본 연구에서는 임도를 매년 705 km씩 신설하여 목재생산 가능지역을 확대하는 대안 1과 임도를 매년 1,000 km씩 신설하는 대안 2를 적용하였다. 분석 결과, 대안 1은 목재공급량이 현 수준을 유지하거나 5% 정도 증가할 경우 문제가 없으나, 10% 증가할 경우 임목축적이 정체되는 등 안정적인 목재공급에 한계가 나타났다. 반면 대안 2는 목재공급량이 10% 증가하여도 안정적 목재공급이 가능한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 국내 일본잎갈나무의 안정적인 목재공급 및 생산 잠재량 확충을 위해서는 임도 확대 및 재조림 노력이 뒤따라야 한다.

답리작 사료작물의 랩사일리지 생산비 분석 (Cost Analysis of Wrap Silage Production in the Paddy Field for Forage Crop Cropping System)

  • 본 연구는 겨울철과 여름철에 답리작 사료작물의 랩사일리지 생산에서 연구보고된 조사료 재배품종과 재배방법을 기준으로 하였을 때, 소요 기계에 따른 기계화 생산 작업의 특성과 부담면적, 기계 이용비용을 분석하여 조사료 생산비용을 산출하였다. 생산비용은 작물종류(호밀, 청보리, IRG, 수단그라스), 파종방법(산파, 조파)과 트랙터 마력(50, 75, 100, 130 ps)에 따른 경작규모별(부담면적 ha별), 부담면적대비 경작지비율별(25, 50, 75, 100%), 작부체계별(품종 숙기별, 동 하계 작물별)로 분류하여 산출하였다. 트랙터 100 ps, 조파를 기준으로 단일 품종 재배보다 호밀, IRG와 청보리 등을 품종 숙기별로 재배할 때 파종은 20일에서 30일로, 수확은 약 30일에서 40일로 시기가 늘어나기 때문에 부담면적이 57.1 ha에서 77.5 ha로 증가하였다. 동 하계 작물 연중 재배시 생산비용은 100 ps 트랙터, 조파, kg-TDN 기준으로 호밀+수단은 250원, 청보리+수단은 215원, IRG+수단은 234원, 호밀+청보리+IRG+수단은 233원으로 나타났다. 이는 연중 재배하지 않는 경우에 비해 고정비가 줄어들기 때문에 생산비용은 약 30~50% 절감되었다. 따라서 답리작 사료작물의 랩사일리지 생산시 노동피크와 수확시기의 분산, 기계장비의 효율성을 제고할 수 있도록 품종 숙기별 연중 재배 작부체계의 이용이 바람직한 것으로 판단되었다.

충남 태안 패류생산해역에서의 세균학적 위생안정성 평가 (Evaluation of Bacteriological Safety for the Shellfish Growing Waters in Taean Area, Korea)

  • The seawater in the Taean area was surveyed to evaluate the conditions of the bay and compliance with the bacteriological criteria for a designated area for shellfish production for export. Samples of seawater were collected monthly at 34 sampling stations established in the survey area from January 2002 to December 2004. The bacterial density in the coastal area close to a pollution source located to the northeast of the survey area was higher than in the open sea to the west. The bacteriological counts in the water did not change with 16.5mm of rainfall, but increased abruptly after 65.4mm of rainfall. The total coliform and fecal coliform most probable numbers (MPNs) of 1,224 seawater samples in the survey area were <1.8-2,400 and <1.8-790 MPN/100 mL, respectively. The geometric mean and estimated 90th percentile of total coliforms were 1.9-3.4 and 2.7-26.3 MPN/100mL, respectively, and for fecal coliforms were <1.8-2.6 and 1.8-12.0 MPN/100mL, respectively. The bacteriological water quality in the Taean seawater area met the National Shellfish Sanitation Program criteria for an approved area and the Korea Shellfish Sanitation Program criteria for a designated area for shellfish production for export.
