  • Product Line Engineering(PLE) is a software reuse paradigm that core assets are defined using common features in a domain and are instantiated in various applications. To apply the core asset effectively, variants which satisfy application requirements are extracted and the core asset should be also instantiated based on the variants. For the work, variability on architecture and components should be extracted exactly and an instantiation process and guidelines should be defined based on this variability In this paper, we define variability types depending on core assets elements and describe artifact templates related to tile variability. We also propose a systematic process which uses defined core assets including variability and verify practicability of the proposed process and variability expression through doing ease study. If utilizing with the proposed process in PLE, it can be feasible to model concrete core asset and variability and to utilize practical application engineering.

  • Light olefins are important petrochemicals as well as primary building blocks for various chemical intermediates. As the number of ethane cracking center (ECC) process, in which ethylene accounts for most of the production, has increased in recent years, propylene supply is not catching up with steadily increasing propylene demand. This trend makes the conversion of methanol to olefins to get more industrial importance. The methanol to olefins (MTO) process produces methanol through syngas and obtain olefins such as propylene through methanol. Since the reaction from methanol to olefins provides different product compositions depending on the catalyst used for the reaction, it is important to choose an appropriate separation process for the reaction product with different composition. Four different separation processes are considered for four representative cases of product compositions. The separation processes for the reaction products are evaluated by techno-economic analysis based on the simulation results using Aspen plus. Guidelines are provided for selecting a suitable separation process for each of representative case of product compositions in the MTO process.

  • Coating is a type of paint. It protects a product forming a film layer on the product and assigns various properties to the product. Coating is one of the fields which is being studied actively in the polymer industry. Importance of coating in various industries is more increased. However, mixing process has been performing in dependence on operator's experience. In this paper, we found the relationship between each data from coating formulation process. We propose a framework to analyze the coating formulation process as well. It can improve the coating formulation process. In particular, the suggested framework may reduce degradation and loss costs due to absence of standard data which is accurate formulation criteria. Also it suggests responses to errors which can be occurred in the future through the analysis of the error data generated in mixing step.

  • The dimensional accuracy of a final product is mainly affected by elastic die deformation during the forging and elastic recovery after the ejection in cold forging process. The investigations on elastic recovery are not so much as those of elastic die deformation. The elastic recovery can be determined by using the elastic-plalstic finite element analysis, but, this method has some limits such as poor conver- gence and long computational time, etc. In this paper, a theoretical analysis for predicting the elastic recovery of a final product in axi-symmetric forging process by using the rigid-plastic finite element method is presented. The rigid-plastic finite element analysis of a cold forward extrusion process involving loading, ejecting process is accomplished by rigid-plastic FE code, DEFORM. The effect of elastic die deformation on the final product dimenmsion is also considered. The calculated elastic recovery is compared is compared with the analysis result of elastic-plastic FE code. • This study was conducted to evaluate the slurping process affecting the variation of free product and VOCs concentration and the bioaugmentation effect on bioremediation process. Free products and soil gas were extracted from 30 extraction wells installed in a petroleum contaminated area. The extraction system was operated for 10 hours per day with 1 hour on-and-off mode. The thickness of free product in extraction well was decreased from 11.7 cm to 4.5 cm and the VOCs concentration was increased from 10.37 ppm to 30.78 ppm during the operation period. After the slurping process for 2 months, contaminated soil was treated with bioremediation process in 2 cells, $15{\times}40$ m, biologically enhanced with adjusting oxygen, moisture and nutrients concentration. Total 1,400 L of microbial inoculant, Naturesys. (Dong Myung Ent. Co.) was added to the pile B, which has an outstanding ability for degrading petroleum hydrocarbons. The results showed that bioremediaton effect in soil with the microorganisms solution is 33% higher than that in soil with only residual bacteria.

  • Compact system as a new and highlighted trend in papermaking technology gives papaermakers many advantages including simple and clean process, quick grade change, minimized liquid volume, and so on. It is possible to remove an existed chest for simplifying system and more utilization of space, but its effect on process and product stability must be evaluated qualitatively in advance. For this purpose, process simulation can be applied. We examined the effect of disturbances on process and product in a papermaking system with and without machine chest using dynamic simulation. As compared with the existed system, the paprmaking system without machine chest showed twice or more variation in process and product and required longer time for stabilization.

  • Viewed as a more systematic approach of creating high quality products and bringing them into market at a lower cost and in significantly less time, it attracts the attention of quality designers to quality function deployment (QFD) approach. In attempt to reduce the design cycle, the industry has responded with concurrent design effort. In a sense, concurrent engineering refers to the integration of various activities within the broad scope of the product life cycle [17]. Over the last ten years, much has been written about QFD but little has been available in terms of the underlying guide methodology. The methodology of QFD is quite simple and many will say that they have done it in the past but just have not formalized it into the form that this discipline requires. QFD ties the product, user, value, and manufacturing viewpoints together in a continuous process of defining the product design and manufacturing requirements. The value viewpoint recognizes the cost to obtain certain functionality, and the manufacturing viewpoint addresses conformance to requirements, but in a broader sense, the variability in production. In this paper, the QFD system acquisitions are described, and two heuristic approaches solving for the complex design process, especially the size reduction of design process and precedence-constrained relationship in QFD are proposed, and the empirical example is illustrated.

  • In this study, an artificial neural network(ANN) was constructed to establish the relationship between process condition prameters and the qualities of the injection-molded product in the injection molding process. Six process parmeters were set as input parameter for ANN: melt temperature, mold temperature, injection speed, packing pressure, packing time, and cooling time. As output parameters, the mass, nominal diameter, and height of the injection-molded product were set. Two learning structures were applied to the ANN. The single-task learning, in which all output parameters are learned in correlation with each other, and the multi-task learning structure in which each output parameters is individually learned according to the characteristics, were constructed. As a result of constructing an artificial neural network with two learning structures and evaluating the prediction performance, it was confirmed that the predicted value of the ANN to which the multi-task learning structure was applied had a low RMSE compared with the single-task learning structure. In addition, when comparing the quality specifications of injection molded products with the prediction values of the ANN, it was confirmed that the ANN of the multi-task learning structure satisfies the quality specifications for all of the mass, diameter, and height.

  • In this study, we examined voice shopping interaction in which consumers can be involved in the decision-making process. Sixteen kinds of voice shopping interaction were designed with differences in the existence of screen/product involvement/conversation style. Their effects on trust, cognitive load, satisfaction, and continuous intention to use were evaluated through a survey experiment. The main effect of conversation style was significant, and it was found that the more deeply involved users have higher trust. The interaction effect between conversation style and product involvement was also significant. Low involvement product buyers had the most positive user experience from the conversation style that included 'Ask for preference,' while high involvement product buyers had the most positive user experience from the conversation style that included both 'Ask for preference' and 'Question and Answer.' The main effect and interaction effect of the existence of screen was not significant. The results indicate that a positive user experience can be obtained when users are deeply involved in consumer decision-making, especially in purchasing high-involvement products.
