  • In order to predict the neutralization of concrete which is the reaction of carbonation dioxide from the outside and cement hydration product, such as calcium hydroxide and C-S-H, it was studied the numerical analysis method considering change of the pore structure and relative humidity during the neutralization reaction. Diffusion-reaction neutralization model was developed to predict the neutralization depth of concrete with coating finishing material. In order to build numerical analysis models considering outdoor environment and finishing materials, the adaption of proposed model was shown the results of existing outdoor exposure test results and accelerated carbonation test.

  • In this paper, the properties of inter - locking block using fly ash are discussed in order to provide economical advantages and improve quality, and protect environment and recycle resources. Fly ash is the by-product of coal in thermal power plant. The experimental parameters are fly ash content, the amount of AE water - reducing agent and mixing proportion of cement mortar. According to the experimental results, the improvement of quality in the side of strength, absorption ratio and freeze - thaw resistance for manufacturing inter -locking block and the curtailment of cost can be achieved in case of 15% of fly ash and 0.3% of AE water- reducing agent are mixed into mortar mixture of 1 :6(C:S).

  • A reconfigurable lighting engine for widely used lighting models is proposed for low-power GPU shaders. Conventionally, lighting operations that involve many complex arithmetic operations were calculated by the shader programs on the GPU, which led to a significant energy overhead. In this letter, we propose a lighting engine to improve the energy-efficiency by supporting the widely used advanced lighting models in hardware. It supports the Blinn-Phong, Oren-Nayar, and Cook-Torrance models, by exploiting the logarithmic arithmetic and optimizing the trigonometric function evaluations for the energy-efficiency. Experimental results demonstrate 12.7%, 42.5%, and 35.5% reductions in terms of power-delay product from the shader program implementations for each lighting model. Moreover, our work shows 10.1% higher energy-efficiency for the Blinn-Phong model compared to the prior art.

  • When most manufacturing company produce grinding product operators decide grinding condition by experience and subjective judgment. The study on grinding manufacture have been developed to get the grinding condition with the same result when non-experienced or experienced worker work. The objective of this study is to develope the grinding condition and predict the result of grinding by neural network. Several discussions were made in following areas as; getting MRR with image processing, the architecture optimization of neural network with experiment design, analysis of the input neurons using sensitivity approach. The results showed that the developed approach was the best method in predicting grinding condition with respect to surface finish quality.

  • In recent years, young customers whose priority are on rationality and practicality of products and set a high value on space usage and storage efficiency have shown larger interest in knocked down furniture, thus its purchase has been on the rise. A baby bed design utilizing knocked down system suggested in this article, allows simple assembly and disassembly, easy transportation, easy movement, and also possible to recycle. Using laminated wood made of Douglas fir, a natural material, a baby bed is designed as knocked down structure. Its prototype is made to suggest easy assembly and disassembly design, which does not require any hardware. If efforts are put on the research of furniture design and its product development, focusing on the applicable usage and strength of knocked down furniture, it can become one of the solutions to the development of currently stagnant domestic furniture industry.

  • Digital Virtual Manufacturing is a technology to facilitate effective product developments and agile productions by digital models representing the physical and logical schema and the behavior of real manufacturing systems including products, process, manufacturing resources and plants. A digital virtual factory as a well-designed and integrated environment is essential for successful applications of this technology. In this research, we constructed a sophisticated digital virtual factory of the shipbuilding company's section steel shop by 3-D CAD and virtual manufacturing simulation. This digital virtual factory can be applied for diverse engineering activities in design, manufacturing and control of the real factory.

  • Besides strong customer orientation, today's companies should respond increasingly to a market getting worse for securing competitiveness with a diversity of product spectrum. In these new conditions in the surrounding field of manufacturing, the changeability of manufacturing system develops more and more to the key success factor. The following contributions introduce a fast and cost-efficient concept for changeover which bases on a modular system's architecture. The modular structure of manufacturing system allows the required changing processes with limited side effects on other modules. Based on a modular concept, manufacturing systems can be easily configured and reconfigured to specific requirements.

  • This paper presents an analytical method, application of expansion, mechanical design, and integrated expansion design of subsea insulated pipe-in-pipe (PIP) systems. PIP system consists of a flowline and a casing pipe for the transport of high temperature and high pressure product from the subsea wells. To prevent heat lass from the fiowline, insulation material is applied between the pipes. The fiawline pipe and the casing pipe have mechanical connections through steel ring plate (water stops) and bulkheads. Pipeline expansion is defined by temperature, internal pressure, soil resistance, and interaction force between the flowline and the casing pipe. The results of the expansion analysis, the mechanical design of connection system of the two pipes and tie-in spool design are integrated for the whole PIP system.

  • Shipboard architecture and design has now become a specialty In its own right. As rationalized as the process of ship' design and built is, it continues to produce some remarkable fleet image. Cruise line has created a number of the hall mark identities and the interior design features of its own. It is to develop a design theme for a reference ship which sets a particular image for later new buildings to follow in same class. When a new class Is created later, key design element will be retained, with some items being changed and new ideas introduced. Thus the approach has the flexibility to grow and change as the industry itself evolves and diversifies. There are a number of notable examples which illustrate how different line are thus able to create and maintain unique product hallmarks and identities through the interior design of their fleets.
