  • In this Paper, we have Improved the Manufacturing Process of Liquid Aluminum Sulfate using the Design of Automated Measurement Systems. The Manufacturing Process of Liquid Aluminum Sulfate uses a Large Weight. The Quality of a Product Depends Highly on the Proportion of the Raw Material Input in the Production Process. Therefore, it is Very Important to Accurately Measure the Amount of Raw Material. For Automation Design, Load Cell Sensor which can Measure Large Weight Accurately and PLC Technology which is most used in Automation Process are Applied. The Content of Aluminum Oxide in the Aluminum Sulfate Produced before the Automation Design Varies from 8.023% to 8.250%. However, after Automation Design, the Amount of Change from 8.09% to 8.19% was Greatly Reduced. As a Result, we could Reduce the Quality Defect rate Due to Weighing Errors and Reduce Safety Accidents by Applying Automation System.

  • This paper presents vibration analysis of maskless exposure module in printed circuit board(PCB) manufacturing system. In order to complete exposure process in PCB, masking type module has been widely used in electronics industries. However, masking process confronts some limitations of application due to higher production cost for masking as well as lower printing resolution. Therefore, maskless exposure module is started to be in the spotlight for flexible production system to meet the needs of fabrication in variable patterns at low cost. Since maskless exposure process adopts direct patterning to PCB, vibration problems become more critical compared to conventional masking type process. Moreover, movements of exposure engine as well as stage generate vibration sources in the system. Thus, it is imperative to analyze the vibration characteristics for the maskless exposure module to improve the quality and accuracy of PCB. In this study, vibration analysis using the finite element analysis is conducted to identify the critical structural parts deteriorating vibration performance. Also, Experimental investigations are conducted by single/dual encoder measurement process under the operating module speed. Measurement points of vibration are selected by three places, which are base of stage, exposure engine and top of stage, to check the effect of vibration from the exposure engine. Comparisons between analysis results and experimental measurement are conducted to confirm the accuracy of analysis results including the developed FE model. Finally, this studies show feasibility of optimal design using the developed FE analysis model.

  • The line-of-sight(LOS) rate is estimated using Kalman filter in Radio-Frequency(RF) seeker. For the two axis gimbaled seeker, proper system modeling is considered and the basic filter structure is set up. The main issue for Kalman filter is choosing the proper process and measurement noise. For the measurement process, the signal to noise ratio(SNR) and other components are introduced. To cope with the eclipse problem or other abnormal seeker status, the pseudo input signal concept is proposed. By conditioning abnormal signals, the LOS rate estimation performance is increased. The process noise is also an important factor in the propagation phase. The analytical approach on a process noise component is performed and a reliable region for the filter is calculated based on the eigenvalue analysis. Some numerical simulations are performed to check the validity of suggested algorithm.

  • A large optical surface is fabricated by grinding, polishing and figuring. The grinding process is the most rapid and has the largest amount of fabrication of all processes. If we measure the surface precisely and rapidly in the grinding process, it is possible to improve the efficiency of the fabrication process. Since the surface of grinding process is rough and not shiny, it is not easy to measure the surface using light so that we cannot use an interferometer. Therefore, we have to measure the surface using a mechanical method. We can measure the surface under the grinding process by using a laser tracker which is a portable 3-dimensional coordinate measuring machine. In this paper, we used the laser tracker to measure the surface error of 1 m diameter spherical mirror. This measurement result was compared to that of an interferometer. As a result, surface measurement error was found to be $0.2{\mu}m$ rms (root mean square) and $2.7{\mu}m$ PV (Peak to Valley), which is accurate enough to apply to the rough surface under the grinding stage.

  • Reliable monitoring and diagnosis of industrial processes is quite important for in terms of quality and safety. The goal of fault diagnosis is to find process variables responsible for causing specific abnormalities of the process. This work presents a classification-based diagnostic scheme based on nonlinear representation of process data. The use of a nonlinear kernel technique is able to reduce the size of the data considered and provides efficient and reliable representation of the measurement data. As a filtering stage a preprocessing is performed to eliminate unwanted parts of the data with enhanced performance. The case study of an industrial batch process has shown that the performance of the scheme outperformed other methods. In addition, the use of a nonlinear representation technique and filtering improved the diagnosis performance in the case study.

  • This paper proposes a residual stress mitigation of a nuclear safety-related austenitic stainless steel TP304 pipe bended by local induction heating process via performing elastic-plastic finite element analysis. Residual stress distributions of the pipe bend were calculated by performing finite element analysis. Validity of the finite element analysis procedure was verified via comparing with temperature histories measured by using thermocouples, ultrasonic thickness measurement results, and residual stress measurement results by a hole-drilling method. Parametric finite element stress analysis was performed to investigate effects of the process and geometric shape variables on the residual stresses on inner surfaces of the pipe by applying the verified procedure. As a result of the parametric analysis, it was found that it is difficult to considerably reduce the inner surface residual stresses by changing the existing process and geometric shape variables. So, in order to mitigate the residual stresses, effect of an additional process such as cooling after the bending on the residual stresses was investigated. Finally, it was identified that the additional heating after the bending can significantly reduce the residual stresses while other variables have insignificant effect.

  • The measurement of the key product quality index plays an important role in improving the production efficiency and ensuring the safety of the enterprise. Since the actual working conditions and parameters will inevitably change to some extent with time, such as drift of working point, wear of equipment and temperature change, etc., these will lead to the degradation of the quality variable prediction model. To deal with this problem, the selective integrated moving windows based principal component regression (SIMV-PCR) is proposed in this study. In the algorithm of traditional moving window, only the latest local process information is used, and the global process information will not be enough. In order to make full use of the process information contained in the past windows, a set of local models with differences are selected through hypothesis testing theory. The significance levels of both T - test and χ2 - test are used to judge whether there is identity between two local models. Then the models are integrated by Bayesian quality estimation to improve the accuracy of quality variable prediction. The effectiveness of the proposed adaptive soft measurement method is verified by a numerical example and a practical industrial process.

  • Neutron resonance transmission technique was applied for assaying isotopic fissile materials produced in the pyro-process. In each process of the pyro-process, a different composition of the fissile material is produced. Simulation was basically performed on 235U and 239Pu assay for TRU-RE product, hull waste, and uranium addition. The resonance energies were evaluated for uranium and plutonium in the simulation, and the linearity in the detection response was examined on the fissile content variation. The linear resonance energies were determined for the analysis of 235U and 239Pu on the different fissile materials. For enriched TRU-RE assay, the sample condition was suggested; The sample density, content, and thickness are the key factors to obtain accurate fissile content. The detection signal is discriminated for uranium and plutonium in neutron resonance technique. The transmitted signal for fissile resonance has a direct relation with the content of fissile. The simulation results indicated that the neutron resonance technique is promising to analyze 235U and 239Pu for various types of the pyro-process material. An accurate fissile assay will contribute toward safeguarding the pyro-processing system.

  • Electronic packages consist of various materials, and as temperature changes, warpage occurs because of the difference in coefficient of thermal expansion. Shadow $moir{\acute{e}}$ is non-contact, whole field measurement technique for out-of-plane displacement. However, the technique has low sensitivity above $50{\mu}m/fringe$, it is not adequate for the warpage measurement in some circumstance. In this paper, by applying phase shifting process to the traditional shadow $moir{\acute{e}}$, measurement system having enhanced sensitivity of $12.5{\mu}m/fringe$ is constructed. Considering Talbot effect, the measurement is carried out in the half Talbot area. Shadow fringe pattern having four times enhanced sensitivity is obtained by the image process with four shadow fringes. The measurement technique is applied to the fibered package substrate and coreless package substrate for measuring warpages at room temperature and at about $100^{\circ}C$.
