This paper presents a vehicle detection system using the video as a input image what has moving of vehicles.. Input image has constraints. it has to get fixed view and downward view obliquely from top of the road. Road detection is required to use only the road area in the input image. In introduction, we suggest the experiment result and the critical point of motion history image extraction method, SIFT(Scale_Invariant Feature Transform) algorithm and histogram analysis to detect vehicles. To solve these problem, we propose using applied Gaussian Mixture Model(GMM) that is the Vehicle Detection GMM(VDGMM). In addition, we optimize VDGMM to detect vehicles more and named VDGMM 2.0. In result of experiment, each precision, recall and F1 rate is 9%, 53%, 15% for GMM without road detection and 85%, 77%, 80% for VDGMM2.0 with road detection.
Statement of problem. There have been many studies about marginal discrepancy of single restorations made by various systems and materials. But most of statistical inferences are not definite because of sample size, measurement number, measuring , instruments, etc. And there have been few studies about the marginal fit of Computer-aided Cercon crowns. Purpose. The purpose of this study was to compare the marginal fit of the anterior single restorations made using computer-aided milled Cercon crowns with metal-ceramic restorations and to obtain more accurate information by using a large enough sample size and by making sufficient measurements per specimen. Material and methods. The in vitro marginal discrepancies of computer-aided milled Cercon crowns and control groups (metal ceramic crowns) were evaluated and compared. The crowns were made from one extracted maxillary central incisor prepared by milling machine. 30 crowns per each system were fabricated. Measurements of a crown were recorded at 50 points that were randomly selected for marginal gap evaluation. Parametric statistical analysis was performed for the results. Results. The means and standard deviations of the marginal fit were 85$\pm$22$\mu$m for the control group and 91$\pm$15$\mu$m for the Cercon crowns. The t-test of the marginal discrepancies between Cercon crowns and metal-ceramic crowns were performed. Significant differences were not found between groups (P=0.230>.05). Based on the criterion of 120$\mu$m as the limit of clinical acceptability, the mean marginal fits of Cercon crowns and metal-ceramic crowns were acceptable. Conclusion. Within the limitations of this in vitro study, the following conclusions were drawn: 1. Mean gap dimensions and standard deviations at the marginal opening for maxillary incisal crowns were 85$\pm$22$\mu$m for the control (metal-ceramic crowns), 91$\pm$15$\mu$m for Cercon crowns. 2. The Cercon crowns showed slightly larger marginal gap discrepancy than the control but marginal gap between Computer-aided milled Cercon crowns and metal ceramic crowns did not showed significant difference (P>.05). 3. The Cercon crowns and metal ceramic crowns showed clinically acceptable marginal discrepancy.

Statement of problem. Hydroxyapatite(HA) coated titanium surfaces have not yet showed the reliable osseointegration in various conditions. Purpose. This study was aimed to investigate microstructures, chemical composition, and surface roughness of the surface coated by the hydrothermal method and to evaluate the effect of hydrothermal coating on the cell attachment, as well as cell proliferation. Material and Methods. Commercially pure(c.p.) titanium discs were used as substrates. The HA coating on c.p. titanium discs by hydrothermal method was performed in 0.12M HCl solution mixed with HA(group I) and 0.1M NaOH solution mixed with HA(group II). GroupⅠ was heated at 180 $^{\circ}C$ for 24, 48, and 72 hours. GroupⅡ was heated at 180 $^{\circ}C$ for 12, 24, and 36 hours. And the treated surfaces were evaluated by Scanning electron microscopy(SEM), Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), X-ray diffraction method(XRD), Confocal laser scanning microscopy(CLSM). And SEM of fibroblast and 3-(4,5- dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide(MTT) assay were used for cellular responses of the treated surfaces. Results. The color of surface changed in both groups after the hydrothermal process. SEM images showed that coating pattern was homogeneous in group II, while inhomogeneous in group I. H72 had rosette-like precipitates. The crystalline structure grew gradually in group II, according to extending treatment period. The long needle-like crystals were prominent in N36. Calcium(Ca) and phosphorus(P) were not detected in H24 and H48 in EDS. In all specimens of group II and H72, Ca was found. Ca and P were identified in all treated groups through the analysis of XPS, but they were amorphous. Surface roughness did not increase in both groups after hydrothermal treatment. The values of surface roughness were not significantly different between groups I and II. According to the SEM images of fibroblasts, cell attachments were oriented and spread well in both treated groups, while they were not in the control group. However, no substantial amount of difference was found between groups I and II. Conclusions. In this study during the hydrothermal process procedure, coating characteristics, including the HA precipitates, crystal growth, and crystalline phases, were more satisfactory in NaOH treated group than in HCl treated group. Still, the biological responses of the modified surface by this method were not fully understood for the two tested groups did not differ significantly. Therefore, more continuous research on the relationship between the surface features and cellular responses seems to be in need.
Korea water resources corporation (K-Water) has developed the real-time water resources management system for the Nakdong and the Geum River basin to efficiently operate multi-purpose dams in the basins. This study has extended to the Han River basin for providing an effective ending target storage of a month to the real-time water resources management system using Sampling Stochastic Dynamic Programming (SSDP), consequently increasing the efficiency of the reservoir system. The optimization model were developed for three reservoirs, named Soyang, Chungju, and Hwacheon, with high priority in terms of the amounts of effective capacity and water supply for the basin. The number of storage state variable for each dam to set an optimization problem has been assigned from the results of sensitivity analysis. Compared with the K-water operating policy with the target water supply elevations, the optimization model suggested in this study showed that the shortfalls are decreased by 37.22 MCM/year for the required water demands in the basin, even increasing 171 GWh in hydro electronic power generation. In addition, the result of a reservoir operating system during the drawdown period applied to real situation demonstrates that additional releases for water quality or hydro electronic power generation would be possible during the drawdown period between 2007 and 2008. On the basis of these simulation results, the applicability of the SSDP model and the reservoir operating system is proved. Therefore, the more efficient reservoir operation can be achieved if the reservoir operating system is extended further to other Korean basins.
The STS contents, emphasized in the 6th curriculum, in the chemistry textbooks(II) were analyzed. The STS contents in textbooks showed average value of 2.7%. The chapter of ‘chemical bond and compound' were included 3.8% of STS contents. And the chapter of ‘atomic structure and periodic table', ‘state of material and solution', ‘science of material', and ‘chemical reaction' contained 3.2%, 2.2%, 1.9%, and 1.9% of STS contents, respectively. When the STS contents were analyzed by STS topics of Piel, the results are as follows; 33.7% on effect of technological developments, 27.5% on environmental quality and utilization of natural source, 19.6% on human engineering, 13.8% on energy, and 5.4% on sociality of science. However, there were no topics on population, space research and national defense. When the STS contents were analyzed by student activities of SATIS, most of the activities were research and case study. There were few field activities of practical investigation, problem solving and decision making, research design and stimulation. There were no activities of role play.
The purpose of this paper is to estimate economic benefits for the investment of port hinterland. This research has conducted the empirical analysis, by calculating the investment of port hinterland. The key factor for the economic benefits for the hinterland is the utilizing throughputs. This demand is influenced by the throughput in the port. However the data is different between the different organizations. The positive opinions are prevailed about constructing of port hinterland by a optimistic view about throughput. However this paper analyzes the economic benefits by a pessimistic point of view. The main results of this paper are as follows: First, the port hinterland of Busan New Port does not have economic benefit for investment and the hinterland will face the overcapacity problem. We recommend that the plan for investment has to be considered the modification. Second, data of forecasted throughputs is an important factor for evaluation of hinterland's investment. The research for reliable forecasting of throughput has to be preceded for the pertinent evaluation of hinterland's investment.
Spectral modeling synthesis (SMS) has been used as a powerful tool for musical sound modeling. This technique considers a sound as a combination of a deterministic plus a stochastic component. The deterministic component is represented by the series of sinusoids that are described by amplitude, frequency, and phase functions and the stochastic component is represented by a series of magnitude spectrum envelopes that functions as a time varying filter excited by white noise. These representations make it possible for a synthesized sound to attain all the perceptual characteristics of the original sound. However, sometimes considerable phase variations occur in the deterministic component by using the conventional SMS for the complex sound such as whale sounds when the partial frequencies in successive frames differ. This is because it utilizes the calculated phase to synthesize deterministic component of the sound. As a result, it does not provide a good spectrum matching between original and synthesized spectrum in higher frequency region. To overcome this problem, we propose a modified SMS that provides good spectrum matching of original and synthesized sound by calculating complex residual spectrum in frequency domain and utilizing original phase information to synthesize the deterministic component of the sound. Analysis and simulation results for synthesizing whale sounds suggest that the proposed method is comparable to the conventional SMS in both time and frequency domain. However, the proposed method outperforms the SMS in better spectrum matching.
Steel corrosion in reinforced concrete (RC) structures is a critical problem to structural safety and many researches are being actively conducted on developing methods to maintain the required performance of the RC structures during their intended service lives. In this study, concrete mixture proportioning technique through genetic algorithm (GA) for RC structures under carbonation, which is considered to be serious in underground site and big cities, is investigated. For this, mixture proportions and diffusion coefficients of $CO_2$ from the previous researches were analyzed and fitness function for $CO_2$ diffusion coefficient was derived through regression analysis. This function based on the 12 experimental results consisted of 5 variables including water-cement ratio (W/C), cement content, sand percentage, coarse aggregate content per unit volume of concrete in unit, and relative humidity. Through genetic algorithm (GA) technique, simulated mixture proportions were proposed for 3 cases of verification and they showed reasonable results with less than relative error of 10%. Finally, assuming intended service life, different exposure conditions, design parameters, intended $CO_2$ diffusion coefficients, and cement contents were determined and related mixture proportions were simulated. This proposed technique is capable of suggesting reasonable mix proportions and can be modified based on experimental data which consider various mixing components like mineral admixtures.

In this study, ordinary Portland cement was used and the air void was minimized by using minute quartz as the filler. In addition, steel fibers were used to mitigate the brittle failure problem associated with high strength concrete. This study is in progress to make an Ultra-high strength powdered concrete (UHSPC) which has compressive strength over 300 MPa. To increase the strength of concrete, we have compared and analyzed the compressive strengths of the concretes with different mix proportions and curing conditions by selecting quartz sand, dolomite, bauxite, ferro silicon which have diameters less than 0.6 mm and can increase the bond strength of the transition zone. Ultra-high strength powdered concrete, which is different from conventional concrete, is highly influenced by the materials in the mix. In the study, the highest compressive strength of the powdered concrete was obtained when it is prepared with ferro silicon, followed in order by Bauxite, Dolomite, and Quartz sand. The amount of ferro silicon, when the highest strength was obtained, was 110%, of the weight of the cement. SEM analysis of the UHSPC showed that significant formation of C-S-H and Tobermorite due to high temperature and pressure curing. Production of Ultrahigh strength powdered concrete which has 28-day compressive strength upto 341MPa has been successfully achieved by the following factors; steel fiber reinforcement, fine particled aggregates, and the filling powder to minimize the void space, and the reactive materials.

Sewer rehabilitation is performed to improve the problem for urban drainage sewer system recently. However the data for the sewer system is not stored enough so that the sewer system is difficult to be managed systematically. In this study, a maintenance management system for urban drainage system is developed to store the data efficiently and manage the system systematically. In the developed system, a hydraulic and hydrologic analysis module is included to test the carrying capacity of a sewer pipe and estimate the amount of combined sewer overflows. The I/I and superannuation evaluation module is included in this system. The module distribute the total inflow/infiltration observed at the several sampling points in a drainage area to the individual pipes of the entire sewer system. Then the superannuation of a sewer pipe is evaluated according to the amount of I/I of the pipe. And in the developed system, the optimal rehabilitation priority module is included to determine the optimal priority and support the decision making for the sewer rehabilitation. The maintenance management system which is developed in this study is constructed by the association with the developed modules and the system is formed as graphical user interface system.
