  • Many search algorithms have been implemented by many researchers on the world wide web. One of the best algorithms is Google using PageRank technology. PageRank approach computes the number of inlink of each documents then ranks documents in the order of inlink members. But it is difficult to find the results that user needs, because this method find documents not valueable for a person but valueable for the public. To solve this problem, We use the WordNet for analysis of the user's query history. This paper proposes a personalized search engine using the user's query history and PageRank Check. We compared the performance of the proposed approaches with google search results in the top 30. As a result, the average of the r-precision for the proposed approaches is about 60% and it is better as about 14%.

  • Homographs can have multiple senses. In order to understand the meaning of a sentence, it is necessary to identify which sense isused for each word in the sentence. Previous researches on this problem heavily relied on the word co-occurrence information. However, we noticed that in case of verbs, information about subordinating cases of verbs can be utilized to further improve the performance of word sense disambiguation. Different senses require different sets of subordinating cases. In this paper, we propose the verb sense disambiguation using subordinating case information. The case information acquire postposition features in Standard Korean Dictionary. Our experiment on 12 high-frequency verb homographs shows that adding case information can improve the performance of word sense disambiguation by 1.34%, from 97.3% to 98.7%. The amount of improvement may seem marginal, we think it is meaningful because the error ratio reduced to less than a half, from 2.7% to 1.3%.

  • In this paper an approach to building fuzzy model to predict daily open, close, high, and low stock prices is presented. One of prior problems in building a stock prediction model is to select most effective indicators for the stock prediction. The problem is overcome by the selection of information used in the analysis of stick-chart as the input variables of our fuzzy model. The fuzzy rules have the premise and the consequent, in which they are composed of trapezoidal membership functions, and nonlinear equations, respectively. DE(Differential Evolution) searches optimal fuzzy rules through an evolutionary process. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed approach numerical example is considered. The fuzzy models to predict open, high, low, and close prices of KOSPI(KOrea composite Stock Price Index) on a daily basis are built, and their performances are demonstrated and compared with those of neural network.

  • Usually, image deconvolution is applied as a preprocessing step in surveillance systems to reduce the effect of motion or out-of-focus blur problem. In this paper, we propose a blind-image deconvolution filtering approach based on genetic programming (GP). A numerical expression is developed using GP process for image restoration which optimally combines and exploits dependencies among features of the blurred image. In order to develop such function, first, a set of feature vectors is formed by considering a small neighborhood around each pixel. At second stage, the estimator is trained and developed through GP process that automatically selects and combines the useful feature information under a fitness criterion. The developed function is then applied to estimate the image pixel intensity of the degraded image. The performance of developed function is estimated using various degraded image sequences. Our comparative analysis highlights the effectiveness of the proposed filter.

  • In this study, a test has been carried out to solve the problem with ground granulated blast-furnace slag, low early strength & lack of supply and to find out a way to use as concrete admixture of the ultrafine blaine air cooling slag which is all disposed as the by product of air cooling slag and its test was conducted to the replacement rate of ultrafine blaine air cooling slag & mixing condition of every concrete admixtures by type for the purpose of obtaining later a basic data for practical use of the cement that used ultrafine blaine air cooling slag by conducting comparative analysis. If ultrafine-blaine air cooling slag is used to the concrete following the results, a high efficiency water reducing agent won't be needed much for flow acquisition due to a high increase in flow, and the stripping time of concrete form will be shortened thanks to the acquisition of early strength, And though, it has the problems with long term strength which is similar or a little lower than the 3 types of ground granulated blast-furnace slag, it's still applicable as the substitute materials for 3 types of ground granulated blast-furnace slag at 10, 15% replacement rate of ultrafine-blaine air cooling slag, at which it shows higher activation index than 3 types of ground granulated blast-furnace slag.

  • The objective of this study is to develop a 3D DMFC model for modeling gas evolution and flow patterns to design optimal flow field for gas management. The gas management on the anode side is an important issue in DMFC design and it greatly influences the performance of the fuel cell. The flow field is tightly related to gas management and distribution. Since experiment for the optimal design of various flow fields is difficult and expensive due to high bipolar plate cost, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is implemented to solve the problem. A two-fluid model was developed for CFD based flow field design. The CFD analysis is used to visualize and to analyze the flow pattern and to reduce the number of experiments. Case studies of typical flow field designs such as serpentine, zigzag, parallel and semi-serpentine type illustrate applications of the model. This study presents simulation results of velocity, pressure, methanol mole fraction and gas content distribution. The suggested model is verified to be useful for the optimal flow field design.

  • An economic ship routing means to sail a ship with a goal of minimizing the fuel consumption by utilizing weather forecast information, and there have been various systems which have been recently studied. For a successful economic ship routing system, it is needed to properly control an engine power or change a geographical path considering weather forecast. An optimal geographical path is difficult to be determined, though, because it is a minimal dynamic-cost path search problem where the actual fuel consumption is dynamically variable by the weather condition when the ship will pass the area. In this paper, we propose an geographical path-search algorithm based on evolutionary strategy to efficiently search a good quality solution out of tremendous candidate solutions. We tested our approach with the shortest path-based sailing method over seven testing routes and observed that the former reduced the estimated fuel consumption than the latter by 1.82% on average and the maximum 2.49% with little difference of estimated time of arrival. In particular, we observed that our method can find a path to avoid bad weather through a case analysis.
