  • In this paper, an investigation on internet safety of 244 national or public elementary schools' web sites was performed with two points of view : inappropriate material posting and personal information exposure. The investigation results showed that obscene materials and commercial advertisements were uploaded into the bulletin board(67.2%) and students' personal information such as photograph, address, telephone number were exposed(87.3%). Most of the inappropriate materials were posted by auto-register programs. This problem was occurred due to reckless bulletin board opening and inappropriate management. On the contrary, personal information was exposed by teachers and students. They didn't not care about their personal information. It shows the fact that they have not recognized the danger of personal information exposure. Therefore managing real-name membership and enforcing permission to bulletin board were required to construct and use a safe school web site. Teachers have to understand not only negative effects appeared in a school web site but also latent dangerous factors.

  • In this study, we conducted to derive some implications by analyzing the computer education framework proposed by K12CS in the United States in order to organize the software curriculum and conceptualization of computational thinking in Korea. First, we discussed the use of the term Computational Thinking as a Computing Thinking in Korea and compare it with the concept presented in the US curriculum. we derived that Computing Thinking and Computational Thinking are different in the focus and scope of problem solving. Second, considering the fact that Korean software curriculum does not consider the hierarchy according to the school and the grade, we reconstructed the curriculum based on the core practices and concepts which were suggested by the organization of K-12 Computer Science in the United States.

  • STATEMENT OF PROBLEM. Proper proximal contact is important for maintaining and stabilizing the dental arch. However, the proximal contact strength (PCS) is not a constant value and can be affected by a variety of factors. PURPOSE. This study examined the influences of postural changes on the posterior PCS. MATERIAL AND METHODS. Twelve adults with a normal occlusion and had not undergone prosthetic treatment or proximal restoration were participated in this study. A metal strip was inserted into the proximal surface and removed at a constant velocity. The contact strength was measured in every contact point between canine to second molar in both arches. The PCSs were obtained initially in the upright position, secondly in the supine position and finally in the upright position again. All measurements were repeated after a 2 hour period. Statistical analysis was carried out using the Friedman test (P < .05). RESULTS. Generally, a decrease in PCS occurred when the posture was changed from the initial upright to supine position, while it increased when the posture was changed from the supine to upright position. A significant change was observed in all areas except for between the canine-first premolar in the maxilla and between the first molar-second molar in the mandible areas. CONCLUSION. The posterior PCS, which dentists generally believe to be a static feature of occlusion, is affected significantly by posture.

  • The segment matching method shows better performance than the global and points-based methods to compare reference signature with an input signature. However, the segment-to-segment matching method has the problem of decreasing recognition rate according to the variation of partitioning points. This paper proposes a fusion model based on the segment matching and HMM to construct a more reliable authentic system. First, a segment matching classifier is designed by conventional technique to calculate matching values lot dynamic information of signatures. And also, a novel HMM classifier is constructed by using the principal component analysis to calculate matching values for static information of signatures. Finally, SVM classifier is adopted to effectively combine two independent classifiers. From the various experiments, we find that the proposed method shows better performance than the conventional segment matching method.

  • Cleft palate is one of the most serious congenital anomalies in human that causes a sucking problem in newborn babies and morphologic deformity that usually leads to death in newborn mouse offspring due to an insufficient ability to suck milk. Therefore cleft palate had been researched with epidemiologic and molecular methods, and many etiologic factors were examined closely. Among of the research methods, biologic molecule researches have been more important method for cleft palate formation study. The $TGF-{\beta}$ had an important role in the cell migration, epithelial-mesenchymal transdifferentiation, extracellular matrix synthesis and deposition. But there was a little research which was study about correlation cleft palate induced by beta-aminonitroproprionitrile(BAPN) with $TGF-{\beta}$ expression. A purpose of this presented study was examed how $TGF-{\beta}$ expression in cleft palate mice. At gestation days 13, BAPN-monofumarate salts($(C_3H_6N_2)_2$ ${\cdot}$ $C_4H_4O_4$, Sigma Co.) was single oral administered to 4 pregnant rats according to 1g/kg body weight. And pregnant rats were sacrificed on day 20 post coitus(p.c.), The $TGF-{\beta}$ expression patterns of cleft formed fetus mice was followed that; 1.Osteoblast, mesenchymal cell and epithelial cell of cleft mice were low expression compare to control mice. 2.There was no $TGF-{\beta}$ difference expression pattern of osteocyte of cleft mice compare to control mice. 3. In western blot analysis, thickness of band of $TGF-{\beta}$ in cleft mice was thin and dilute compare to control mice.

  • Purpose. Korean women are likely to experience symptoms of depression, possibly due to socially fixed limitations on the roles that Korean women are expected to perform. Also if a Korean woman experinces negative relationship problem or stress in her family, she would feel responsible, which will worsen her depression. Nonetheless, much of the research on depression among Korean women has focused on menopausal women. This study aims to understand the depression of Korean women to provide fundamental data to develop nursing intervention method for promoting women's health. Methods. The present investigation assessed the prevalence and correlates of depression in a large sample of Korean women, aged 18 or older, from the general population. With a probability sample of 3312 women drawn from two areas in Korea, a survey, which contains the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) and background, was completed. Results. According to CES-D classification criteria, $36.5\%$ of the women in the sample displayed either no depression or mild depression, $55.6\%$ exhibited moderate depression, and $7.8\%$ manifested severe depression. Significant bivariate relationships were observed between depression and each measured background variable except alcohol use. Logistic regression analysis indicated that the strongest combination of predictors of depression included income, menopausal, and marital status. Conclusion. The data support the premise that Korean women disproportionately experience elevated levels of depression. Consistent with the theory, depression may be related to social pressures to conform to the traditional roles. The study suggests the need for further research, primary prevention activities, and increased access to treatment.
