Vibrational relaxation and competitive C-$H_{methyl}$ and C-$H_{ring}$ bond dissociations in vibrationally excited methylpyrazine in the collision with HF have been studied by use of classical trajectory procedures. The energy lost by the vibrationally excited methylpyrazine upon collision is not large and it increases slowly with increasing total vibrational energy content between 20,000 and 45,000 $cm^{-1}$. Above the energy content of 45,000 $cm^{-1}$, however, energy loss decreases. The temperature dependence of energy loss is negligible between 200 and 400 K, but above 45,000 $cm^{-1}$ the energy loss increases as the temperature is raised. Energy transfer to or from the excited methyl C-H bond occurs in strong collisions with HF, that is, relatively large amount of translational energy is transferred in a single step. On the other hand, energy transfer to the ring C-H bond occurs in a series of small steps. When the total energy content ET of methylpyrazine is sufficiently high, either or both C-H bonds can dissociate. The C-$H_{methyl}$ dissociation probability is higher than the C-$H_{ring}$ dissociation probability. The dissociation of the ring C-H bond is not the result of the direct intermolecular energy flow from the direct collision between the ring C-H and HF but the result of the intramolecular flow of energy from the methyl group to the ring C-H stretch.
Intramolecular energy flow and C-$H_{methyl}$ and C-$H_{ring}$ bond dissociations in vibrationally excited toluene in the collision with HF have been studied by use of classical trajectory procedures. The energy lost by the vibrationally excited toluene upon collision is not large and it increases slowly with increasing total vibrational energy content between 20,000 and 45,000 $cm ^{-1}$. Above the energy content of 45,000 $cm ^{-1}$, however, energy loss decreases. Furthermore, in the highly excited toluene, toluene gains energy from incident HF. The temperature dependence of energy loss is negligible between 200 and 400 K. Energy transfer to or from the excited methyl C-H bond occurs in strong collisions with HF transferring relatively large amount of its translational energy (>> $k_BT$) in a single step, whereas energy transfer to the ring C-H bond occurs in a series of small steps. When the total energy content $E_T$ of toluene is sufficiently high, either C-H bond can dissociate. The C-$H_{methyl}$ dissociation probability is higher than the C-$H_{ring}$ dissociation probability. The dissociation of the ring C-H bond is not the result of the intermolecular energy flow from the direct collision between the ring C-H and HF but the intramolecular flow of energy from the methyl group to the ring C-H stretch. The C-$H_{ring}$${\cdot}{\cdot}{\cdot}$HF interaction is not important in transferring energy and in turn bond dissociation.
The present study uses quasi-classical trajectory procedures to examine the vibrational relaxation and dissociation of the methyl and ring C-H bonds in excited methylpyrazine (MP) during collision with either N2 or O2. The energy-loss (-ΔE) of the excited MP is calculated as the total vibrational energy (ET) of MP is increased in the range of 5,000 to 40,000cm-1. The results indicate that the collision-induced vibrational relaxation of MP is not large, increasing gradually with increasing ET between 5,000 and 30,000 cm-1, but then decreasing with the further increase in ET. In both N2 and O2 collisions, the vibrational relaxation of MP occurs mainly via the vibration-to-translation (V→T) and vibration-to-vibration (V→V) energy transfer pathways, while the vibration-to-rotation (V→R) energy transfer pathway is negligible. In both collision systems, the V→T transfer shows a similar pattern and amount of energy loss in the ET range of 5,000 to 40,000cm-1, whereas the pattern and amount of energy transfer via the V→V pathway differs significantly between two collision systems. The collision-induced dissociation of the C-Hmethyl or C-Hring bond occurs when highly excited MP (65,000-72,000 cm-1) interacts with the ground-state N2 or O2. Here, the dissociation probability is low (10-4-10-1), but increases exponentially with increasing vibrational excitation. This can be interpreted as the intermolecular interaction below ET = 71,000 cm-1. By contrast, the bond dissociation above ET = 71,000 cm-1 is due to the intramolecular energy flow between the excited C-H bonds. The probability of C-Hmethyl dissociation is higher than that of C-Hring dissociation.
An increasing concern is paid to short-term voltage stability with the growth of penetration of induction motor loads. Reactive power reserve(RPR) of power system is critical to improve voltage stability. A definition of short-term voltage stability-related RPR(SVRPR) is proposed. Generators vary their contributions to voltage stability with their location and system condition, etc. Voltage support coefficient based on the second-order trace sensitivity method is proposed to evaluate SVRPR's contribution to short-term voltage stability. The evaluation method can account for the generator's reactive support in transient process and the contingency severity. Then an optimization model to improve short-term voltage stability is built. To deal with multiple contingencies, contingency weight taking into account both its probability and severity is proposed. The optimization problem is solved by primal dual interior point method. Testing on IEEE_39 bus system, it is indicated that the method proposed is effective. Short-term voltage stability is improved significantly by the way of SVRPR optimization. Hence, the approach can be used to prevent the happening of voltage collapse during system's contingency.
Gaudi, Naber & Sackett pointed out that if an event is caused by a lens system containing more than two planets, all planets will affect the central region of the magnification pattern, and thus the existence of the multiple planets can be inferred by detecting additionally deformed anomalies from intensive monitoring of high magnification microlensing events. Unfortunately, this method has important limitations in identifying the existence of multiple planets and determining their parameters (the mass ratio and the instantaneous projected separation) due to the degeneracy of the resulting light curve anomalies from those induced by a single planet and the complexity of multiple planet lensing models. In this paper, we propose a new channel to search for multiple planets via microlensing. The method is based on the fact that the lensing light curve anomalies induced by multiple planets are well approximated by the superposition of those of the single planet systems where the individual planet-primary pairs act as independent lens systems. Then, if the source trajectory passes both of the outer deviation regions induced by the individual planets, one can unambiguously identify the existence of the multiple planets. We illustrate that the probability of successively detecting light curve anomalies induced by two Jovian-mass planets located in the lensing zone through this channel will be substantial. Since the individual anomalies can be well described by much simpler single planet lensing models, the proposed method has an important advantage of allowing one to accurately determine the parameters of the individual planets.
Purpose: To date most research related to patients with breast cancer has discriminately investigated the status within or after the treatment although the patients demand holistic nursing care from the time of diagnosis. Thus, the purpose of this study was to investigate the trajectory of breast cancer diagnosis and patients' experiences in the pre-treatment period. Method: This qualitative study used qualitative thematic analysis. Nineteen Korean women who were diagnosed with breast cancer within the last 6 month participated in the study. Individualized interviews were conducted with each participant in a cancer center in K city. The interviews were tape-recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using the thematic analysis process. Results: The overriding theme was "the scattered life in an unforeseen swirl", which illustrates the participants' unexpected crisis with confusion and emotional distress. Two subthemes included "falling into an unavoidable journey", and "staggering in a muddle with urgency". The categories were "unexpected probability", "nagging nodularity", "ominous presentiment", "emotional upheaval", "bad thought intrusion", and "a sense of urgency". Conclusion: Patients in the pre-treatment period encountered utter emotional distress and a sense of urgency after being diagnosed breast cancer. Strategies to develop nursing care for patients in this period and nursing implications are discussed.

Uncertainty of objects in Moving Object Database is a coherent property. It has been discussed in a lot of researches on modelling and query processing. The previous studies assume that uncertain future time is determined through utilizing recent speed and direction of vehicles. This method is simple and useful for estimating the time of the near future location. However, it is not appropriate when we estimate the time of the far future location. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a concept of planned route. It is used to estimate uncertain future time, which has to be located at a given point. If the route of an object is planned beforehand its locations are uncertainly distributed near that route. By a simple projection operation, the probability that a location lies in the planned route is increased. Moreover, we identify the future time of an object based on the speed for passing the route, which is offered via a website.
