식물 치사관련 유전자를 이용하는 신규 제초제 작용점 탐색 및 조절물질 개발동향 (A prognosis discovering lethal-related genes in plants for target identification and inhibitor design)

  • 신규 제초제 작용점의 발굴은 유전체학과 조합화학 등 새로운 기술이 등장하여 그 가능성이 높아지고 있다. 대략 $10^{30}$에서 $10^{50}$여 개의 화학물질의 합성이 가능하고 50,000여 개의 식물 유전자 지도가 완성되어 이들의 조합으로 새로운 제초제의 작용점 발굴 가능성이 높아지게 될 것이다. 즉, 고등식물이 가지고 있는 50,000여 개의 유전자 가운데 0.1%, 1.0% 또는 10%가 신규 작용점이 된다면 50, 500, 5000개의 신규 작용점을 발견할 수 있는 것이다. 신규 제초제의 개발을 위해서는 target enzyme의 선택과 결정, 저해제의 설계, 작용점까지 도달하는 과정, 대사적인 운명 등 여러가지 요인들이 검토되어야 한다. 이러한 과정에서 가장 중요한 것은 확실한 작용점의 선택에 있다. 또한 다양한 생화학적 정보를 통하여 작용점/효소의 저해로부터 고사에 이르는 과정을 이해함은 물론 보다 강력한 저해제의 합성과 살초과정을 이해할 수 있어야 할 것이다. 그 동안에는 이미 알려진 작용점을 대상으로 신규 화합물을 합성하거나 유도체를 개발하는 것이 대부분이었지만 최근에는 antisense 기법 등을 활용하여 새로운 치사관련 작용점을 찾아내는데 잠재력과 가능성을 확대시켜주고 있다. 새로운 치사관련 작용점을 발굴한 후에는 대상효소의 화학적, 생화학적 기능과 단백질의 구조를 분석하여 강력한 저해제를 설계하는데 활용하게 될 것이다. 치사관련 돌연변이체와 antisense 기법을 활용하고, 식물 생리학적 반응을 기초로 하여 리드화합물을 탐색하는 것은 새로운 접근방식이며 농약 화학적 특성을 갖는 효소 저해제들의 합성은 크게 6가지로 할 수 있다. 공통특이시얀 기질 유사체 합성, affinity labels, 자살기질체, 반응중간산물, 그리고 extraneous site inhibitors 등을 들 수 있다. 이와 같은 방법으로 후보화합물이 선발된다 하여도 실제식물에 처리하여 흡수, 이행, 대사 등에 관한 시험이 반드시 이루어져야 새로운 제초제를 탄생시킬 수 있다. 또한 약물의 전달과정과 무독화작용을 통하여 pro-herbicide에 대한 연구를 진행하게 될 것이며, 마지막으로 잡초와 작물간의 선택성이 고려되어야 효소 측이적 접근방식에 의한 신규 선택성 제초제의 개발이 성공할 수 있는 것이다.

Using the METHONTOLOGY Approach to a Graduation Screen Ontology Development: An Experiential Investigation of the METHONTOLOGY Framework

  • Ontologies have been adopted in various business and scientific communities as a key component of the Semantic Web. Despite the increasing importance of ontologies, ontology developers still perceive construction tasks as a challenge. A clearly defined and well-structured methodology can reduce the time required to develop an ontology and increase the probability of success of a project. However, no reliable knowledge-engineering methodology for ontology development currently exists; every methodology has been tailored toward the development of a particular ontology. In this study, we developed a Graduation Screen Ontology (GSO). The graduation screen domain was chosen for the several reasons. First, the graduation screen process is a complicated task requiring a complex reasoning process. Second, GSO may be reused for other universities because the graduation screen process is similar for most universities. Finally, GSO can be built within a given period because the size of the selected domain is reasonable. No standard ontology development methodology exists; thus, one of the existing ontology development methodologies had to be chosen. The most important considerations for selecting the ontology development methodology of GSO included whether it can be applied to a new domain; whether it covers a broader set of development tasks; and whether it gives sufficient explanation of each development task. We evaluated various ontology development methodologies based on the evaluation framework proposed by G$\acute{o}$mez-P$\acute{e}$rez et al. We concluded that METHONTOLOGY was the most applicable to the building of GSO for this study. METHONTOLOGY was derived from the experience of developing Chemical Ontology at the Polytechnic University of Madrid by Fern$\acute{a}$ndez-L$\acute{o}$pez et al. and is regarded as the most mature ontology development methodology. METHONTOLOGY describes a very detailed approach for building an ontology under a centralized development environment at the conceptual level. This methodology consists of three broad processes, with each process containing specific sub-processes: management (scheduling, control, and quality assurance); development (specification, conceptualization, formalization, implementation, and maintenance); and support process (knowledge acquisition, evaluation, documentation, configuration management, and integration). An ontology development language and ontology development tool for GSO construction also had to be selected. We adopted OWL-DL as the ontology development language. OWL was selected because of its computational quality of consistency in checking and classification, which is crucial in developing coherent and useful ontological models for very complex domains. In addition, Protege-OWL was chosen for an ontology development tool because it is supported by METHONTOLOGY and is widely used because of its platform-independent characteristics. Based on the GSO development experience of the researchers, some issues relating to the METHONTOLOGY, OWL-DL, and Prot$\acute{e}$g$\acute{e}$-OWL were identified. We focused on presenting drawbacks of METHONTOLOGY and discussing how each weakness could be addressed. First, METHONTOLOGY insists that domain experts who do not have ontology construction experience can easily build ontologies. However, it is still difficult for these domain experts to develop a sophisticated ontology, especially if they have insufficient background knowledge related to the ontology. Second, METHONTOLOGY does not include a development stage called the "feasibility study." This pre-development stage helps developers ensure not only that a planned ontology is necessary and sufficiently valuable to begin an ontology building project, but also to determine whether the project will be successful. Third, METHONTOLOGY excludes an explanation on the use and integration of existing ontologies. If an additional stage for considering reuse is introduced, developers might share benefits of reuse. Fourth, METHONTOLOGY fails to address the importance of collaboration. This methodology needs to explain the allocation of specific tasks to different developer groups, and how to combine these tasks once specific given jobs are completed. Fifth, METHONTOLOGY fails to suggest the methods and techniques applied in the conceptualization stage sufficiently. Introducing methods of concept extraction from multiple informal sources or methods of identifying relations may enhance the quality of ontologies. Sixth, METHONTOLOGY does not provide an evaluation process to confirm whether WebODE perfectly transforms a conceptual ontology into a formal ontology. It also does not guarantee whether the outcomes of the conceptualization stage are completely reflected in the implementation stage. Seventh, METHONTOLOGY needs to add criteria for user evaluation of the actual use of the constructed ontology under user environments. Eighth, although METHONTOLOGY allows continual knowledge acquisition while working on the ontology development process, consistent updates can be difficult for developers. Ninth, METHONTOLOGY demands that developers complete various documents during the conceptualization stage; thus, it can be considered a heavy methodology. Adopting an agile methodology will result in reinforcing active communication among developers and reducing the burden of documentation completion. Finally, this study concludes with contributions and practical implications. No previous research has addressed issues related to METHONTOLOGY from empirical experiences; this study is an initial attempt. In addition, several lessons learned from the development experience are discussed. This study also affords some insights for ontology methodology researchers who want to design a more advanced ontology development methodology.

돼지 개체식별 및 친자감별을 위한 13 microsatellite marker와 37 single nucleotide polymorphism marker 간의 효율성 비교 (A Comparison of Discriminating Powers between 13 Microsatellite Markers and 37 Single Nucleotide Polymorphism Markers for the Use of Pork Traceability and Parentage Test of Pigs)

  • 13종의 초위성체 마커를 이용해 분석한 대립유전자형을 $F_0$, $F_1$ 그리고 $F_2$로 세대 간 구분 하여 동일한 개체 출현확률 값을 추정한 결과 $F_2$의 무작위교배집단으로 가정한 경우 13종의 초위성체 마커는 $3.84{\times}10^{-23}$ 의 추정치를 나타내 37개의 SNP 마커를 이용할 경우와 유사한 동일개체 출현확률 추정치를 유추할 수 있었다. 본 연구에 사용한 실험축군은 2품종 상호교배로 만들어졌다. 친자감정확률 추정치를 전체집단을 대상으로 13종의 초위성체 마커와 37개의 SNP 마커를 이용하여 분석한 결과 부모를 동시에 찾을 수 있는 추정치인 $PE_{pu}$의 경우 초위성체 마커는 0.97897이고 SNP 마커는 0.99149였으며, 한쪽 부모를 찾을 수 있는 추정치인 PE의 경우 초위성체 마커는 0.99916이고 SNP 마커는 0.99949로 나타났다. 또한 가능한 후보 부모들로부터 가장 확률이 높은 부모를 찾을 추정치인 $PNE_{pp}$의 경우는 초위성체 마커와 SNP 마커 둘 다 1.00000으로 추정 되었다. 한정된 부모집단 내 한정된 대립유전자형을 통해 대량의 비육돈이 생산되는 국내의 양돈산업의 경우 DNA 마커의 특성, 분석집단의 크기, 유전자형 분석의 정확도와 비용, 분석된 자료 관리의 용이성 및 기존 분석 시스템과의 호환성 등을 고려하여 효율성과 경제성이 높은 마커를 선정해 마커 조합을 만드는 것이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

적정조세부담률 추정을 통한 한국 복지국가 증세가능성에 관한 연구 (Feasibility of Tax Increase in Korean Welfare State via Estimation of Optimal Tax burden Ratio)

  • 본 연구는 최근 쟁점이 되고 있는 복지재정 논의에 실증적 근거를 제공하기 위해 설명변수의 내생성을 고려하는 하우스만 테일러 방식을 활용하여 OECD 주요 회원 국가들을 대상으로 적정조세부담의 추정을 시도하였다. 또한 모형 내 조세수입?지출 간 주요 이론적 가설을 반영하여 국제조세비교지수(ITC)를 도출함으로써 국가별 실질 조세수준을 비교하고, 우리나라의 증세가능성에 대해 검토하였다. 분석결과, 일반적으로 조세부담 수준이 높으면 복지지출 수준도 높은 것으로 나타나 규모 측면에서 '고부담?고복지'의 연결구조가 확인되었으나, 최근 들어 저부담 상태에 돌입했음도 알 수 있었다. 한편 우리나라는 1990년대 말까지 저부담이 지속되다가 IMF 외환위기 이후부터 조세부담이 급증하였으나, 경기침체와 감세정책의 영향으로 2009년 이후 저부담 국면으로 재진입한 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 2010년 현재 우리나라의 적정조세부담율은 연구모델에 따라 GDP 대비 25.8%~26.5%로 나타나 약 0.7~ 1.4%p(8.2~16.4조 원)의 증세가 가능한 '저부담?저비율' 국가로 조사되어 증세를 위한 세제개편의 성공 가능성이 다른 OECD 국가들보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 다만 사회보장기여금과 소비세 인상 방안은 상대적으로 높은 ITC 수준을 고려할 때 다른 세목의 인상에 비해 재정운용 측면에서 적절하지 않은 것으로 분석되었다. 하지만 증세여력이 있다고 하여 반드시 증세가 필요한 것은 아닐 뿐 아니라, 적정조세부담률이 그 자체로 '적정 수준'을 보여주는 것은 아니다. 증세논의는 특정 조세혼합(tax mix)에 내포된 국가별 상이한 정치 경제발전 모형과 제도 역사적 속성에 대한 포괄적인 이해를 수반할 필요가 있기 때문이다. 그럼에도 본 연구는 한국 복지국가 증세논의를 보다 경험적으로 정교화함으로써 향후 조세수입과 복지지출의 연계조정 등 조세제도 개혁 방향에 대한 준거를 마련했다는 데 의의가 있다.

사례기반추론을 이용한 사무지식 추천시스템 (A Study on the Design of Case-based Reasoning Office Knowledge Recommender System for Office Professionals)

  • 오늘의 글로벌 네트워크 비즈니스 환경에서 비서직 종사자들에게 신속 정확한 정보수집 능력과 올바른 판단력은 그 어느 때보다 필요한 역량으로 중시되고 있다. 비서직 업무 수행에 필요한 대부분의 지식은 체험지 혹은 경험지이기 때문에 비서가 주어진 문제를 해결하기 위해서 과거의 비슷한 사례를 참고하는 방법은 매우 타당한 것이며, 경험이나 선례를 적용함으로서 실패할 요인을 줄이고 문제 해결의 질을 높이는 동시에 시간을 단축시킬 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 비서 업무 수행 시 특정 문제 해결에 필요한 정보를 사례기반 추론에 근거하여 현재 문제와 가장 유사한 과거의 사례를 추천하는 시스템(COKRS : Case-based reasoning Office Knowledge Recommender System, 이하 COKRS)을 설계하고 프로토타입을 구축함을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구 결과인 COKRS는 비서직에서 뿐만 아니라 일반 사무영역에서의 지식관리 목적으로도 확대 이용 될 수 있을 것이다.

제주 신양섭지해수욕장 주변 방두만 거머리말 군락 복원을 위한 실험적 이식 (Experimental Transplantation for the Restoration of Seagrass, Zostera marina L. Bed Around Sinyangseopji Beach in Bangdu Bay, Jeju Island)

  • 제주도 동쪽에 위치한 신양섭지해수욕장 주변 방두만에는 과거 거머리말이 넓게 서식하였으나, 1990년대 방파제 공사 이후 모두 소실되었다. 본 연구는 방두만의 거머리말 서식지 복원을 위한 이식 적지 선정을 위해 2019년 1월과 2020년 1월에 방두만의 6개소에 거머리말을 이식한 후 생육 환경과 이식된 거머리말을 10개월간 월별 조사하였다. 거머리말 이식은 철사고정법을 이용하여 각 장소 당 500개체를 이식하였다. 이식된 거머리말은 모든 장소에서 대부분 생존하여 영양 번식으로 인한 밀도증가가 나타났다. 각 장소의 환경 즉, 수중광량, 수온과 염분농도는 유의한 차이가 나타났지만 모두 거머리말 생육에 적합하였다. 모든 장소에서 봄부터 파래가 출현하여 여름 동안 누적되었으나, 거머리말의 생존과 생장에는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 이식된 거머리말은 이식 3개월 후 112.5~300%의 밀도증가율이 나타났으며, 모든 장소에서 봄과 초여름 동안 높은 밀도 증가율을 보였다. 거머리말의 형태는 이식 충격으로 인하여 모든 장소에서 1~2 개월간 감소하였다가 이후 다시 증가하여 새로운 환경에 잘 적응한 것으로 확인되었다. 그러나 이식 후 8~9개월이 경과하는 늦여름부터 초가을 동안 2019년 2회, 2020년 3회의 강력한 태풍이 조사 지역을 관통하였다. 이로 인해 이식 10개월 후 방두만의 중심부에 위치한 2개소의 거머리말은 모두 소실되었으나, 방두만의 서쪽에 위치한 3개소 거머리말의 밀도증가율은 192~312%로 높게 유지되었다. 이로써 방두만의 잘피서식지 조성이 가능함을 알 수 있었고, 이식 거머리말의 밀도 증가율이 높고 태풍에도 안전한 방두만의 서쪽 연안이 생육 적지임을 확인할 수 있었다.

침윤성 방광암에서 경요도적절제술 및 Cisplatin과 방사선의 병용치료의 효과 (The Results of Combined Modality Treatment with Transurethral Resection, Cisplatin and Radiation Therapy for Invasive Bladder Cancer)

  • 1989년 2월부터 1990년 6월까지 조선대학교 부속병원 치료방사선과에서 침윤성 방광암으로 경요도적절제술 및 Cisplatin과 방사선을 병용하여 치료를 받았던 10예에 대하여 저자는 후향적으로 국소관해율, 생존기간, 치료실패양상 및 부작용을 분석하였다. 이들은 원발병소가 근치적방광절제술이 불가능하였거나, 환자의 전신상태 또는 고령의 나이나 합병된 내과적인 질환때문에 근치적수술을 할 수 없었던 경우였다. 원발병소의 병기는 T3a-T4b였고, N병기는 NO가 9예이고 N1가 1예였으며, 10예 모두 MO 였다. 추적기간은 $16\~32$개월이었다. 수술요법은 경요도적절제술, 화학요법은 Cisplatin $1\~5$회, 방사선치료는 골반부위에 $3960\~5400$ cGy의 선량으로 치료하였다. 원발병소의 병기에 따른 완전관해율은 cT3a에서 80$\%$, cT3b에서 67$\%$ 그리고 cT4b에서 0$\%$였고 전체적으로 60$\%$의 완전관해율을 보였다. 부분관해율은 20$\%$이어서 전체의 국소관해율은 80$\%$였다. 조직학적 검사상모두 이행상피암이었고 조직학적 등급에 따른 완전관해의 차이를보면 I, II등급인 6예에서는 모두 완전관해를 보였고 III, IV등급인 4예에서는 부분관해가 2예이고 무반응이 2예였다. 완전관해를 보였던 6예는 모두 생존하여 있고 이중 1예에서만 치료후 10개월후에 국소재발을 보였다. 완전관해를 보이지 않았던 4예는 모두 조직학적 등급이 III, IV등급으로 방광암으로 사망하였다. 원격전이는 3예에서 보였으며 2예 (cT4b)는 폐, 1예(cT3b)는 척추부위였다. 방사선치료후 부작용은 설사가 가장 심한 부작용으로 1예에서 나타났으나 보존요법으로 호전되었다. 따라서 침윤성방광암에 있어서 방광기능의 보존측면에서 병용치료는 심한 부작용없이 치료가 가능하며 완전관해율을 높이기위하여 방사선선량을 높이고, T4b병기에서는 원격전이 가 큰 문제이므로 효과적인 복합화학요법을 시도하는 것이 필요하다고 사료된다.

부산지역 대학생들의 전통음식 패스트푸드화에 관한 견해 (A Study on the Traditional Fast Food Development of College Students in Busan)

  • 부산지역 대학생 340명을 대상으로 전통음식의 패스트푸드화에 관한 견해를 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 조사 대상자는 남학생이 56.2%, 여학생이 43.8%, 20-24세가 66.8%를 차지하였고, 자기집에 거주하는 학생이 73.6%이었으며, 평균용돈은 16-20만원이 31.8%로 가장 많은 비율 차지하였다. 2. 패스트푸드가 식습관에 미치는 영향은 '입맛이 서구화 되었다', '지방의 과잉섭취가 되었다', '외식을 더 좋아하게 되었다', '비만가능성이 커졌다' 의 순으로 나타났으며, 성별(p<0.01)로 유의적이 차이를 보여 남학생은 입맛의 서구화, 여학생은 지방의 과잉섭취의 비율이 높게 나타났다. 3. 외국브랜드 패스트푸드점의 이용에 대한 견해는 '생각해보지 많았다' (32.9%), '이용을 자제해야 한다' (23.1%)로 나타났으며 전통음식 패스트푸드점의 이용에 대해서는 '가끔 이용할 것이다' (56.5%). '많이 이용할 것이다' (19.8%)로 나타나 빠른 시일내에 한국형 전통음식 패스트푸드업체의 개발이 필요한 것으로 보인다. 4. 국내브랜드 패스트푸드점에 대한 견해로는 '모르겠다' (32.1%), '맛이 떨어진다' (20.8%), '어쩐지 외국 브랜드보다 못하다' (13.3%)의 순이었고, 성별(p<0.01)로 유의적인 차이를 보여 맛의 차이는 여학생이, 가격의 차이는 남학생이 높은 비율로 꼽았다. 5. 전통음식의 패스트푸드점에 대한 견해로는 '전망이 있다'가 62.2%, '신속히 이루어져야 한다'가 15.5%로 나타났으며, 전통음식 중 패스트푸드화 할 수 있는 음식으로는 떡, 한과류(27%), 불고기, 음료, 빈대떡, 잡채, 갈비찜, 구절판의 순이었다. 6. 전통음식을 패스트푸드화 하는데 있어서의 문제점으로는 사람들의 인식(29.7%), 음식의 기계화와 자동화(26.2%), 정성부족으로 인한 맛의 감소(21.6%) 순으로 나타났고, 성별(p<0.01), 연령별(p<0.05)로 유의적 인 차이를 보였다. 7. 전통음식 패스트푸드점이 생기면 이용도에 관한 견해는 '가끔 이용할 것이다'가 56.5%, '많이 이용할 것이다'가 19.8%로 나타났고, 연령별(p<0.05), 주거상태별(p<0.05)로 유의적인 차이를 보였는데 연령이 많을수록 '이용치 않겠다'는 비율이 높았고, 특히 주거상태별로는 '전혀 이용치 않을 것이다'의 비율이 하숙생이 높게 나타났다. 본 연구는 유행에 민감하고 문화의 변화를 주도하며 패스트푸드를 가장 많이 이용하는 세대인 대학생들을 대상으로 우리의 전통음식을 패스트푸드화 하였을 때의 견해를 알아보고 그 전망을 살피기 위한 연구였다. 연구결과에서 나타난 바와 같이 유행의 첨단을 달리는 신세대라 하더라도 많은 비율의 대학생들이 전통음식의 패스트푸드화에 전망을 밝게 보고 있었으며 이를 위해서는 많은 문제점도 지적하였다. 이에 전통음식의 패스트푸드화와 상품화에 대한 인식이 고무적인 방향으로 변화하고 있어 앞으로 계속 그 추이를 연구할 가치가 있다고 사료된다.

Perceptional Change of a New Product, DMB Phone

  • Digital Convergence means integration between industry, technology, and contents, and in marketing, it usually comes with creation of new types of product and service under the base of digital technology as digitalization progress in electro-communication industries including telecommunication, home appliance, and computer industries. One can see digital convergence not only in instruments such as PC, AV appliances, cellular phone, but also in contents, network, service that are required in production, modification, distribution, re-production of information. Convergence in contents started around 1990. Convergence in network and service begins as broadcasting and telecommunication integrates and DMB(digital multimedia broadcasting), born in May, 2005 is the symbolic icon in this trend. There are some positive and negative expectations about DMB. The reason why two opposite expectations exist is that DMB does not come out from customer's need but from technology development. Therefore, customers might have hard time to interpret the real meaning of DMB. Time is quite critical to a high tech product, like DMB because another product with same function from different technology can replace the existing product within short period of time. If DMB does not positioning well to customer's mind quickly, another products like Wibro, IPTV, or HSPDA could replace it before it even spreads out. Therefore, positioning strategy is critical for success of DMB product. To make correct positioning strategy, one needs to understand how consumer interprets DMB and how consumer's interpretation can be changed via communication strategy. In this study, we try to investigate how consumer perceives a new product, like DMB and how AD strategy change consumer's perception. More specifically, the paper segment consumers into sub-groups based on their DMB perceptions and compare their characteristics in order to understand how they perceive DMB. And, expose them different printed ADs that have messages guiding consumer think DMB in specific ways, either cellular phone or personal TV. Research Question 1: Segment consumers according to perceptions about DMB and compare characteristics of segmentations. Research Question 2: Compare perceptions about DMB after AD that induces categorization of DMB in direction for each segment. If one understand and predict a direction in which consumer perceive a new product, firm can select target customers easily. We segment consumers according to their perception and analyze characteristics in order to find some variables that can influence perceptions, like prior experience, usage, or habit. And then, marketing people can use this variables to identify target customers and predict their perceptions. If one knows how customer's perception is changed via AD message, communication strategy could be constructed properly. Specially, information from segmented customers helps to develop efficient AD strategy for segment who has prior perception. Research framework consists of two measurements and one treatment, O1 X O2. First observation is for collecting information about consumer's perception and their characteristics. Based on first observation, the paper segment consumers into two groups, one group perceives DMB similar to Cellular phone and the other group perceives DMB similar to TV. And compare characteristics of two segments in order to find reason why they perceive DMB differently. Next, we expose two kinds of AD to subjects. One AD describes DMB as Cellular phone and the other Ad describes DMB as personal TV. When two ADs are exposed to subjects, consumers don't know their prior perception of DMB, in other words, which subject belongs 'similar-to-Cellular phone' segment or 'similar-to-TV' segment? However, we analyze the AD's effect differently for each segment. In research design, final observation is for investigating AD effect. Perception before AD is compared with perception after AD. Comparisons are made for each segment and for each AD. For the segment who perceives DMB similar to TV, AD that describes DMB as cellular phone could change the prior perception. And AD that describes DMB as personal TV, could enforce the prior perception. For data collection, subjects are selected from undergraduate students because they have basic knowledge about most digital equipments and have open attitude about a new product and media. Total number of subjects is 240. In order to measure perception about DMB, we use indirect measurement, comparison with other similar digital products. To select similar digital products, we pre-survey students and then finally select PDA, Car-TV, Cellular Phone, MP3 player, TV, and PSP. Quasi experiment is done at several classes under instructor's allowance. After brief introduction, prior knowledge, awareness, and usage about DMB as well as other digital instruments is asked and their similarities and perceived characteristics are measured. And then, two kinds of manipulated color-printed AD are distributed and similarities and perceived characteristics for DMB are re-measured. Finally purchase intension, AD attitude, manipulation check, and demographic variables are asked. Subjects are given small gift for participation. Stimuli are color-printed advertising. Their actual size is A4 and made after several pre-test from AD professionals and students. As results, consumers are segmented into two subgroups based on their perceptions of DMB. Similarity measure between DMB and cellular phone and similarity measure between DMB and TV are used to classify consumers. If subject whose first measure is less than the second measure, she is classified into segment A and segment A is characterized as they perceive DMB like TV. Otherwise, they are classified as segment B, who perceives DMB like cellular phone. Discriminant analysis on these groups with their characteristics of usage and attitude shows that Segment A knows much about DMB and uses a lot of digital instrument. Segment B, who thinks DMB as cellular phone doesn't know well about DMB and not familiar with other digital instruments. So, consumers with higher knowledge perceive DMB similar to TV because launching DMB advertising lead consumer think DMB as TV. Consumers with less interest on digital products don't know well about DMB AD and then think DMB as cellular phone. In order to investigate perceptions of DMB as well as other digital instruments, we apply Proxscal analysis, Multidimensional Scaling technique at SPSS statistical package. At first step, subjects are presented 21 pairs of 7 digital instruments and evaluate similarity judgments on 7 point scale. And for each segment, their similarity judgments are averaged and similarity matrix is made. Secondly, Proxscal analysis of segment A and B are done. At third stage, get similarity judgment between DMB and other digital instruments after AD exposure. Lastly, similarity judgments of group A-1, A-2, B-1, and B-2 are named as 'after DMB' and put them into matrix made at the first stage. Then apply Proxscal analysis on these matrixes and check the positional difference of DMB and after DMB. The results show that map of segment A, who perceives DMB similar as TV, shows that DMB position closer to TV than to Cellular phone as expected. Map of segment B, who perceive DMB similar as cellular phone shows that DMB position closer to Cellular phone than to TV as expected. Stress value and R-square is acceptable. And, change results after stimuli, manipulated Advertising show that AD makes DMB perception bent toward Cellular phone when Cellular phone-like AD is exposed, and that DMB positioning move towards Car-TV which is more personalized one when TV-like AD is exposed. It is true for both segment, A and B, consistently. Furthermore, the paper apply correspondence analysis to the same data and find almost the same results. The paper answers two main research questions. The first one is that perception about a new product is made mainly from prior experience. And the second one is that AD is effective in changing and enforcing perception. In addition to above, we extend perception change to purchase intention. Purchase intention is high when AD enforces original perception. AD that shows DMB like TV makes worst intention. This paper has limitations and issues to be pursed in near future. Methodologically, current methodology can't provide statistical test on the perceptual change, since classical MDS models, like Proxscal and correspondence analysis are not probability models. So, a new probability MDS model for testing hypothesis about configuration needs to be developed. Next, advertising message needs to be developed more rigorously from theoretical and managerial perspective. Also experimental procedure could be improved for more realistic data collection. For example, web-based experiment and real product stimuli and multimedia presentation could be employed. Or, one can display products together in simulated shop. In addition, demand and social desirability threats of internal validity could influence on the results. In order to handle the threats, results of the model-intended advertising and other "pseudo" advertising could be compared. Furthermore, one can try various level of innovativeness in order to check whether it make any different results (cf. Moon 2006). In addition, if one can create hypothetical product that is really innovative and new for research, it helps to make a vacant impression status and then to study how to form impression in more rigorous way.

불량환경하(不良環境下)에서의 제초제(除草劑) 약해(藥害)와 경감기술(輕減技術) (Herbicidal Phytotoxicity under Adverse Environments and Countermeasures)

  • The herbicide has become indispensable as much as nitrogen fertilizer in Korean agriculture from 1970 onwards. It is estimated that in 1991 more than 40 herbicides were registered for rice crop and treated to an area 1.41 times the rice acreage ; more than 30 herbicides were registered for field crops and treated to 89% of the crop area ; the treatment acreage of 3 non-selective foliar-applied herbicides reached 2,555 thousand hectares. During the last 25 years herbicides have benefited the Korean farmers substantially in labor, cost and time of farming. Any herbicide which causes crop injury in ordinary uses is not allowed to register in most country. Herbicides, however, can cause crop injury more or less when they are misused, abused or used under adverse environments. The herbicide use more than 100% of crop acreage means an increased probability of which herbicides are used wrong or under adverse situation. This is true as evidenced by that about 25% of farmers have experienced the herbicide caused crop injury more than once during last 10 years on authors' nationwide surveys in 1992 and 1993 ; one-half of the injury incidences were with crop yield loss greater than 10%. Crop injury caused by herbicide had not occurred to a serious extent in the 1960s when the herbicides fewer than 5 were used by farmers to the field less than 12% of total acreage. Farmers ascribed about 53% of the herbicidal injury incidences at their fields to their misuses such as overdose, careless or improper application, off-time application or wrong choice of the herbicide, etc. While 47% of the incidences were mainly due to adverse natural conditions. Such misuses can be reduced to a minimum through enhanced education/extension services for right uses and, although undesirable, increased farmers' experiences of phytotoxicity. The most difficult primary problem arises from lack of countermeasures for farmers to cope with various adverse environmental conditions. At present almost all the herbicides have"Do not use!" instructions on label to avoid crop injury under adverse environments. These "Do not use!" situations Include sandy, highly percolating, or infertile soils, cool water gushing paddy, poorly draining paddy, terraced paddy, too wet or dry soils, days of abnormally cool or high air temperature, etc. Meanwhile, the cultivated lands are under poor conditions : the average organic matter content ranges 2.5 to 2.8% in paddy soil and 2.0 to 2.6% in upland soil ; the canon exchange capacity ranges 8 to 12 m.e. ; approximately 43% of paddy and 56% of upland are of sandy to sandy gravel soil ; only 42% of paddy and 16% of upland fields are on flat land. The present situation would mean that about 40 to 50% of soil applied herbicides are used on the field where the label instructs "Do not use!". Yet no positive effort has been made for 25 years long by government or companies to develop countermeasures. It is a really sophisticated social problem. In the 1960s and 1970s a subside program to incoporate hillside red clayish soil into sandy paddy as well as campaign for increased application of compost to the field had been operating. Yet majority of the sandy soils remains sandy and the program and campaign had been stopped. With regard to this sandy soil problem the authors have developed a method of "split application of a herbicide onto sandy soil field". A model case study has been carried out with success and is introduced with key procedure in this paper. Climate is variable in its nature. Among the climatic components sudden fall or rise in temperature is hardly avoidable for a crop plant. Our spring air temperature fluctuates so much ; for example, the daily mean air temperature of Inchon city varied from 6.31 to $16.81^{\circ}C$ on April 20, early seeding time of crops, within${\times}$2Sd range of 30 year records. Seeding early in season means an increased liability to phytotoxicity, and this will be more evident in direct water-seeding of rice. About 20% of farmers depend on the cold underground-water pumped for rice irrigation. If the well is deep over 70m, the fresh water may be about $10^{\circ}C$ cold. The water should be warmed to about $20^{\circ}C$ before irrigation. This is not so practiced well by farmers. In addition to the forementioned adverse conditions there exist many other aspects to be amended. Among them the worst for liquid spray type herbicides is almost total lacking in proper knowledge of nozzle types and concern with even spray by the administrative, rural extension officers, company and farmers. Even not available in the market are the nozzles and sprayers appropriate for herbicides spray. Most people perceive all the pesticide sprayers same and concern much with the speed and easiness of spray, not with correct spray. There exist many points to be improved to minimize herbicidal phytotoxicity in Korea and many ways to achieve the goal. First of all it is suggested that 1) the present evaluation of a new herbicide at standard and double doses in registration trials is to be an evaluation for standard, double and triple doses to exploit the response slope in making decision for approval and recommendation of different dose for different situation on label, 2) the government is to recognize the facts and nature of the present problem to correct the present misperceptions and to develop an appropriate national program for improvement of soil conditions, spray equipment, extention manpower and services, 3) the researchers are to enhance researches on the countermeasures and 4) the herbicide makers/dealers are to correct their misperceptions and policy for sales, to develop database on the detailed use conditions of consumer one by one and to serve the consumers with direct counsel based on the database.
