A performance Enhancement of VANET Warning Message Propagation on Electric Wave Blind Area Problem in the Urban Environment (도심의 전파 사각 지역 문제 해결을 위한 VANET 경고 메시지 전달 기능의 개선)

  • Emergency Warning Service will be the most important service of VANET. Transmission delay is the most important performance criteria of the warning service. Most legacy research takes a way to minimize the packet collision. However those approach has a critical weak point on urban environment where there is a blind area of electric wave. So another issue is required in order to provide enhanced warning message propagation technique to overcome the urban environment problem. In this paper, I proposed an enhanced warning message propagation scheme in the poor electric wave environment as the intersection area. Proposed scheme forwards the warning message to the blind area by enhanced forwarding node selection technique. For efficiency of warning message propagation, I suggest forwarding priority for decision of forwarding node. And the node has a direct mode or redirect mode depending on neighbor nodes. The simulation was carried out to evaluate the performance. The simulation results show that proposed scheme has the superior performance compared to legacy warning message technique.

Tidy-up Task Planner based on Q-learning (정리정돈을 위한 Q-learning 기반의 작업계획기)

  • As the use of robots in service area increases, research has been conducted to replace human tasks in daily life with robots. Among them, this study focuses on the tidy-up task on a desk using a robot arm. The order in which tidy-up motions are carried out has a great impact on the success rate of the task. Therefore, in this study, a neural network-based method for determining the priority of the tidy-up motions from the input image is proposed. Reinforcement learning, which shows good performance in the sequential decision-making process, is used to train such a task planner. The training process is conducted in a virtual tidy-up environment that is configured the same as the actual tidy-up environment. To transfer the learning results in the virtual environment to the actual environment, the input image is preprocessed into a segmented image. In addition, the use of a neural network that excludes unnecessary tidy-up motions from the priority during the tidy-up operation increases the success rate of the task planner. Experiments were conducted in the real world to verify the proposed task planning method.

  • The unique characteristics of the construction industry - such as the fragmentation of its processes, varied scope of works and diversity of its participants - are contributory factors to poor project performance. Several issues are unresolved due to the lack of a comprehensive technique to measure project outcomes including: inefficient decision making, insufficient communication, uncertain site conditions, a continuously changing environment, inharmonious working relationships, mismatched objectives within the project team and a blame culture. One approach to overcoming these problems appears to be to measure performance by gauging contractor satisfaction (Co-S) levels, but this has not been widely investigated as yet. Additionally, the key Co-S dimensions at the project level are still not fully identified. This paper concerns a study of satisfaction dimensions, primarily by a postal questionnaire survey of construction contractors registered by the Malaysian Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB). Eight satisfaction dimensions are identified that are significantly and substantially relate to these contractors - comprising: project cost performance, schedule performance, product performance, design satisfaction, site safety, project profitability, business performance and relationships between participants. -Each of these dimensions is accorded different priority levels of satisfaction by different contractors. The output of this study will be useful in raising the awareness and understanding of project teams regarding contractors' needs, mutual objectives and open communication to help to deliver a successful project.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to propose an analytical methodology for selecting the priority of preventive projects in the course of carrying out disaster prevention projects that improve disaster-hazardous areas. Method: Data analysis was performed using RFM model which can divide data grade and perform target marketing based on Recency, Frequency, and Monetary. Result: The top 10% of the area with high RFM value was mainly in the East Sea and the South Sea coast, and the number of damage in private facilities was high. Conclusion: In this study, we used the RFM model to select the priority of disaster risk and to implement the regional disaster risk using GIS. These results are expected to be used as basic data for selecting priority project sites for disaster prevention projects and as basic data in the decision-making process for disaster prevention projects.

  • Large landslides have occurred more than 100 times each year by the influence of cyclones and torrential rain each year in Vietnam. Nevertheless, they $don^{\circ}$Øt have a scientific management system to prevent the landslide disaster in advance. In this study, we acquisited the risk factor and damage factor about each slope throughout basic survey at Hoang Sa Costal Road, Danang and at Ho Chi Minh Road, Quangnam. The priority of investigation technique considering of the exposure characteristics of the road slope in Vietnam developed by the empirical analysis with the acquired data. As a result, we can set the foundation of scientific management for the road slope management system in Vietnam.

An Analysis on Relative Importance and Priority of Hydrographic Survey for Major Ports in South Korea (한국 주요 항만과 연안해역의 상대적 중요도와 우선순위 분석)

  • This study is based on deductions from analysis of historical changes in hydrographic surveys, the problems with the existing system in Korea and analysis of the literature, including foreign cases. Using these criteria, we created and administered a survey of marine professionals of Korea, and based on the results, established an order of priority for hydrographic surveys, as follows: changes in the seabed, quantities of marine traffic, existing performance data from hydrographic survey, consumer's demand, marine accidents, conservation of oceanic environment, and natural resources. The study also deduced, based on a survey of experts, the relative importance ranking of the major ports in South Korea and suggests policy implications and a priority decision model to conduct future hydrographic surveys in a more scientific and systematic way.

Priority Based Blind Equalization for Hierarchical Modulation Systems (계층변조 시스템에서 신호의 우선순위를 이용한 블라인드 등화)

  • In this paper, we propose a blind equalization method for advanced terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (AT-DMB) systems which use hierarchical modulation. The AT-DMB system adopts hierarchical 16-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (16-QAM) to ensure backward-compatibly with the differential quadrature phase shift keying (DQPSK) signal of the legacy terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (T-DMB) systems and to support higher transmission rate. Due to the hierarchical modulation, the conventional T-DMB signal and the additional signal have different error rate at same signal to noise ratio (SNR). By weighting the decided symbols differently according to the reliability of the symbols, i.e., high priority symbol with low error rate and low priority symbol with high error rate, we can improve the channel estimation accuracy. In this paper, we analyze SNR loss by hierarchical modulation and confirm it through simulations. Moreover, through simulations, we verify that the proposed weighting method improve BER compared to the no-weighting method.

Trend Analysis based Strategy Evaluation for Launch Vehicle Industry in Korea (한국의 우주발사체 산업 발전을 위한 우주발사서비스 시장진입 전략 평가)

  • This paper suggests the significant strategies and their priority to deal with space transportation market trends. First, market trends related with technical improvement and change in demand are analyzed by the literature research. The three key trends are obtained: 'Increasing Demand of High-Performance Launch Vehicles', 'Rising of Low-Price Launch Vehicles', and 'Rising of Dual/Multi-Launch'. And then, strategies for developing the launch vehicle industry in Korea are selected from several studies about commercialization of Korean launch vehicle. The strategies are evaluated by the experts through pairwise comparison matrix and the criteria for this process is how significantly does the strategy effect on the launch vehicle industry through market assessment. As a result, reliable order of priority among the strategies are obtained. Under the three key trends, strategy to enhance reliability is most important. And, strategy to have price competitiveness has secondary priority to deal with 'Rising of Low-Price Launch Vehicles' trend and 'Rising of Dual/Multi-Launch' trend. On the contrary, strategy of government's support is secondary under 'Increasing Demand of High-Performance Launch Vehicles' trend.

A Study on Applications of CSP for Multi-Agent (멀티에이전트를 이용한 CSP의 활용에 관한 연구)

  • A distributed constraint satisfaction problem (distributed CSP) is a constraint satisfaction problem (CSP) in which variables and constraints are distributed among multiple automated agents. A CSP is a problem to find a consistent assignment of values to variables. Even though the definition of a CSP is very simple, a surprisingly wide variety of AI problems can be formalized as CSPs. Similarly, various application problems in DAI (Distributed AI) that are concerned with finding a consistent combination of agent actions can be formalized as distributed CPSs. The experimental results on example problems show that this algorithm is by far more efficient than the backtracking algorithm, in which the priority order is static. The priority order represents a hierarchy of agent authority, i.e., the priority of decision-marking. Therefore, these results imply that a flexible agent organization, in which the hierarchical order is changed dynamically, actually performs better than an organization in which the hierarchical order is static and rigid. Furthermore, we describe that the agent can be available to hold multiple variables in the searching scheme.

A Study on the Land Purchase Priority Measurement of the Riparian Areas in Yeongsan and Seomjin River Basin - Focusing on the Riparian Areas of the Juam Lake - (영산강·섬진강수계 수변구역 토지매수 우선순위 산정에 관한 연구 -주암호 수변구역을 사례로 -)

  • Riparian areas are significant functional grounds for inhabiting ecological system on the river such as the self-regulation of the water quality and the foundation of important corridors. For such functional device to operate, consecutive land purchase scheme that prioritizes targeted areas with high pollutant load rate imposes sustainable development of the ecological riparian belt. The purpose of this study is focused on measuring the methodology for selecting land purchse order before establishing riparian belt in accordance with pollution loading estimation and the basin approach. The Yeongsan and Seomjin river which includes targeted areas of the land purchase have been classified into the large-medium-small(standard basin) influence areas based on their catchment rage, which than sub-divided the research area of Juam lake by 38 small basins and 223 units. Small basins with the high pollution load rates have been assessed as the first prioritized targets. For the second priority, the condition of the point pollutant sources, original area of the targets, original restored area were concerned. The final decision of the land purchase order targeted only those within 50 meter range from the basin. To validate the accumulated data, the on-site investigation went along the targeted zones, which the result shows that all prioritized areas included both point and non-point pollutant sources, and had not a small originally restored areas.
