Additive manufacturing(AM) can create complex shapes directly in 3D CAD models with internal geometry compared to conventional subtraction manufacturing. AM technology has the advantage of adopting various materials as well as the reduction of material. However, the high cost of AM is still a significant barrier preventing the wider adoption of AM in industries. This paper analyzes the technical application cases for solving these entry barriers and proposes a bi-metal 3D printing technology as an anticipated application to overcome the difficulty. The paper investigates the complications for current 3D metal printing technology to conduct bi-metal 3D printing and addresses ongoing solution research based on laser technology.

This study explored cases of 3D printing utilization in domestic and overseas fashion industries, and presented utilization strategies for fashion design departments in universities in future by grasping characteristics of newly appearing distribution types through 3D printing. Cases of producing costumes using 3D printing in fashion industry comprised a bikini using the material of Nylon12 that continuum fashion demonstrated, innovative 3D costumes by Iris Van Herpen, Tweed Suit using the material that Chanel manufactured with 3D printing technology, but they were limited to experimental fashion works due to limitations of 3D printer material and printing size. On the other hand, in fashion accessories, with jewelry and shoes at the head of the list, MCM and Kipling also demonstrated bags using this technology, and Elvis Pompilio and Gabriela Ligenza demonstrated 3D printing hat products as well. Except the above, as in glasses and neckties utilizing 3D printing, owing to reduced limitations of time, size and material, 3D printing was found to be utilized in fashion accessories other than costumes. Recently there has been a new consumption and distribution structure coming up focusing on 3D printing technology. That is, in overseas countries, content platforms sharing products modeled by oneself has rapidly appeared, and in our country as well, funnypoly, a 3D content platform appeared in 2015. The appearance of these new types of distribution structures means that the common people can produce design contents, and we believe that it may bring about a change in the traditional way of distribution structure. To walk in step with this change, it is believed that it is necessary for fashion design departments to raise college faculty members who can educate 3D printing, develop curriculum to educate 3D printing, and develop experiential programs connected with middle and high schools.
The present study observes collaboration methods in which 3D printing was a part of the fashion manufacturing process, expression methods of such cases, and their ripple effects. As a result, the three types of collaborations between fashion designers and other industry fields, fashion brands and 3D printing companies, and fashion designers and artists. Case analysis results and ripple effects found according to each collaboration method were as follows. First, in collaborations found were between fashion designers and other industry fields, 3D printed fashion works with futuristic images were seen through the fusion of future industries, which claim to support cutting edge digital technology, and creative fashion design. As they were mainly collaborations between automobile industries with cutting edge images or digital related industries and fashion designers, they were expressed as a new form of experimental clothing, and were used as strategies to improve future corporate images of the high tech industry. Second, in collaborations between fashion brands and 3D printing technology businesses, the sporting good brands and the shoe industry attempted to let their products be known through the promotion of functional material or ergonomic technology. While they emphasize practicality by mainly using flexible material, they were mainly proposed as functional sporting goods for famous players or as shoe accessories, so methods are still used for public distribution as brand promoting marketing strategies. Third, with collaborations between fashion designers and artists, creative pieces were shown through the grafting of 3D printing technology, the artistry of artists, and the experimentation of fashion designers. In particular, the innovative value of fashion as art was created through the union of the artistic 3D modeling technology support of artists and the creativity of designers. Like this, 3D printing fashion can graft the cutting edge nature of fashion to other industry fields through collaborations, enhancing pacesetting images, and in the fashion field, it can improve possibilities for innovations in the fashion industry through the support of 3D printing technology businesses and artists, raising expectations towards future human living.
The screen printing is a process that is widely used in manufacturing process of various fields such as flexible devices, portable multimedia devices, OLED, and the solar cell. The screen printing method has been studied as a method for forming the high precision micro-pattern, making the low-cost manufacturing process and reducing cost through improvement of productivity. It is applicable to deposit and forming the pillars which are one of the core element for comprising vacuum glazing. In this paper, by using the paste of the glass frit base, the screen printing was performed. We analyzed the effect for the printing process to deposit pillar paste on the screen printing parameters by the factorial experimental design. The polynomial predicting the volume of the printed supporting pillars was drawn by using screen printing.

Bulk-heterojunction type organic photovoltaic cells have been remarkably improved due to the development of efficient donors and post treatment process. However, most of researchers have studied on the OPVs using spin-coating method during the past decade. To commercialize the OPVs, much cheaper printing process should be developed such as inkjet, screen, gravure, and so on. In this study, we have focused on the development of printing technology using Inkjet and Aerosol-Jet printing, which can offer reliable device performance. Finally, 4.5% power conversion efficiency can be achieved under AM 1.5 1sun light illumination, which is the highest value in printed OPVs. We reveal that substantial improvement can be realized by highly efficient bulk heterojunction after printing. Also, we can confirm these two printing methods are promising fabrication methods for large area OPVs. Also, flexible and large area (18 cm2) printed OPVs have been fabricated and device performance will be discussed in detail.
The screen printing method is much used in the flat panel display field including the LCD, PDP, FED, organic EL, and etc. for forming the high precision micro-pattern. Also A number of studies of screen printing method has been conducted as the method for the cost down through the improvement of productivity. Because of being the dot printing method of the cylindrical shape not being the line printing method like the existing PDP barrier rib and phosphor, the pillar arrays using the screen printing method is deposited in the hemispherical type not being cylindrical shape in the existing printing process conditions. In this paper, the parameters were set on the screen printing device in order to deposit the cross-sectional shape with the cone or trapezoid shape of the pillar in depositing the pillars used the screen printing device for vacuum glazing. The cross-sectional shape slope of the pillar according to the parameters was measured. And analysis the effect of the screen printing process conditions on the cross-sectional shape slope of pillars based upon the result of being measured. The processing conditions were drawn to minimize the cross-sectional shape slope of pillar.
In this study, I developed a simple and low cost process-printing a silver, carbon, dielectric, adhesive layer on PET films using screen printing technology and bonding the two films face-to-face-to fabricate a low price capacitive pressure-mapping sensor. Both electrodes forming the pressure measuring capacitor are arranged between the two PET films similar to a sandwich. Therefore, the sensor has the advantage of minimizing the influence of external noise. In this study, a $10{\times}10$ capacitance-type pressure-mapping sensor was fabricated and its characteristics were analyzed.
The recent advances and popularity of 3D printing technology have centered around building polymerbased 'plastic' materials, due to their low cost, simple and efficient processing, and mechanical toughness. For this reason, printable polymers are actively recruited to create 'ceramic resins' that allow more facile fabrication of ceramic materials that are difficult to print directly. Herein, a brief history and the current state of ceramic 3D printing technology aided by polymer is summarized. In addition, a new ceramic 3D printing technology using polymer-derived ceramics (PDC) is also introduced.
