9차 분기집합의 2-주기 성분의 경계방정식에 관한 연구 (A Construction of the Principal Period-2 Component in the Degree-9 Bifurcation Set with Parametric Boundaries)

  • 본 논문은 맨델브로트 집합을 9차 복소 다항식에 확장시켜 새로운 프랙탈 도형을 나타내는 9차 분기집합을 정의하고, 2주기 성분의 경계방정식을 매개함수로 표현한다. 또한, 2주기 성분을 작도하는 알고리즘을 고안하고, 매스매티카를 활용하여 2주기 성분의 기하학적 구조에 관한 결과를 제시하고자 한다.

주성분분석에 의한 재래종 옥수수의 해석 (Assessment and Classification of Korean Indigenous Corn Lines by Application of Principal Component Analysis)

  • 육종재료를 얻기 위하여 부산·경남지역에서 수집된 재래종 옥수수 49 계통을 선발하여 본 실험을 실시하였다. 본 시료는 주성분분석을 이용하여 재래종 옥수수를 해석하고 계통분류를 실시하였던 바 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 7 개의 형질을 이용하여 실시한 주성분분석에서는 제 4주성분까지를 가지고 전체 변동의 86.3%를 설명할 수 있었고, 제 2 주성분까지는 전체 변동의 67.4%를 설명할 수 있었다. 주성분에 대한 형질들의 기여율은 형질에 따라 달랐고 상위 주성분에서 켰으며 하위 주성분에서 작았다. 주성분과 형질과의 상관계수는 주성분의 생물학적 의의와 주성분에 대응한 식물체의 형을 명확히 하였는데 제 1 주성분은 식물체의 크기 및 생장기간에 관련된 주성분이었고, 제2주성분은 이삭수와 분얼수에 관련된 주성분이었다. 제 3주성분과 제 4 주성분에서는 형질간에는 유의성이 인정되지 않았다.

부산지역의 입자상 대기오염물질의 농도특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Concentrations of Atmospheric Aerosols in Pusan)

  • This study has been carried out to determine the seasonal characteristics of concentration of various ionic (CI-, NO3-, SO42-, Na+, NH+, K+, Ca2+) and heavy metallic (Pb, Mn, Cu, Ni) species in Pusan from August 1997 to April 1998. The concentrations of CI-, Na+, K+ were higher during summer with 2.98 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/㎥. Seasonal variation of total concentration of but the concentration of NH4+ was higher during winter with 2.46${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/㎥. Seasonal variation of total concentration of heavy metals(Pb, Cu, Mn, Ni) were 186.0 ng/㎥ in summer, 222.6 ng/㎥ in autumn, and 135.83 ng/㎥ in winter. Over the seasons inspected, the concentration of Mn was higher in coarse particles than fine particles and concentration of Ni was higher in fine particles than coarse particles. during yellow sand period, the concentration of TSP was increased about two times than that of other period. SO42-, Ca2+ concentrations were higher than other ionic components because of soil particles. The concentration of Ni showed 94.62ng/㎥ was increased about 4~5 times than other period. Principal component of the yellow sand, SO42-, Ca2+ could be discreased by rainfall and washout effect of atmospheric aerosol was higher in coarse particles than fine particles. Results from PCA(principal component analysis) showed that major pollutant was NaCl by seasalt particulate and (NH4)2SO4.

주성분 분석을 이용한 거세한우의 체형분류에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Body Type of Hanwoo(Korean Cattle) Steer by Using Principal Components Analysis)

  • 1997년부터 2001년까지 (사)한국종축개량협회의 전국한우능력평가대회에 출품된 642두의 거세한우의 도축 전까지 4회에 걸쳐 주요 10개 부위의 체형 측정치를 조사하여 주성분 분석을 이용하여 체형을 분류하였으며, 각 체형 측정치의 주성분 지수와 도체 형질과의 상관관계를 분석하였으며, 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 1차, 2차, 3차 및 4차 체형 측정치의 principal component(이하 P.C) 1의 분산은 각각 7.610, 8.297, 7.269 및 5.739로서 전체분산 중 76.0%, 83.0%, 72.7% 및 57.4%를 나타낼 수 있었고, P.C 1, P.C 2, P.C 3의 합은 전체분산 중 각각 86.69%, 90.49%, 84.62% 및 77.26%를 나타났다. 2. 각 차수별 체형 측정치의 P.C 1의 모든 계수가 양(+)이어서 일반적으로 좋은 체구의 크기를 나타내었으며, 체구의 크기에 가장 크게 영향을 미치는 형질은 흉심(0.328${\sim}$0.339)과 요각폭(0.325${\sim}$0.341)이였다. 또한 P.C 2, P.C 3 및 P.C 4는 각 차수별로 다양하게 나타났다. 3. 1차, 2차, 3차 및 4차 체형 측정치의 주성분 지수들과 도체형질간의 상관계수 추정에서 대부분의 분산을 차지하는 P.C 1은 도체중(0.539${\sim}$0.755), 일당증체량(0.256${\sim}$0.564), 등지방두께(0.227${\sim}$0.280) 및 배최장근단면적(0.187 ${\sim}$0.344)간에 정(+)의 상관을 보였으며, 육량지수(-0.246${\sim}$-0.110)와는 부(-)의 상관을 보였고, 근내지방도(0.066${\sim}$0.099)와는 대부분 유의적인 상관을 보이지 않거나 낮은 상관을 보였고, P.C 2, P.C 3 및 P.C 4는 주성분 지수들의 값에 따라 도체형질과 다양한 상관관계를 보였다. 단일 체형형질과 도체형질간의 상관 그리고 P.C 1의 주성분 지수와 도체 형질과의 상관간에는 큰 차이가 없었다.

식생활 외부화에 관한 한일 비교 연구 -주성분 분석을 이용하여- (Comparison of Dietary Externalization in Korea and Japan -by Principal Component Analysis-)

  • The purpose of this paper was to clarify the actual conditions of the 'Dietary externalization' mainly by using the economic and nutrition-related data, accompanied by the economic development in Korea and Japan. 'Modernization of food style' and other modernization have taken place, among which 'Dietary externalization' in particular has recently drawn interest. At the time this paper clarified with econometric analysis whether there are differences between the two countries in term of the modernization of food style and dietary externalization trend. The trends of Dietary externalization of both Korea and Japan were studied using Principal Component Analysis method. The food subgroup were investigated based on the annual report on the household income and expenditure survey of Korea and the annual report on the family income and expenditure survey of Japan. The statistical data from both country were analyzed by SAS program. The results are as follows; 1. In Korea, the ratio of carbohydrates in the total calorie intake is quite high and animal protein is rather low compared to those in Japan. 2. Traditional food such as grains and vegetables are consumed much more in Korea than in Japan. 3. The Principal Component 1, 2 were extracted in both countries during the whole analysis period, which suggested the 'Dietary externalization' 4. Principal Component 1 has a positive factor loaded in all food items including meals outside the home and process food. In other words, it is apparent that the 'Dietary externalization' tread in Korea has a simple pattern suggesting that all externalization related items are on the rise. 5. Principal component 1, 2 which indicated the dietary externalization, were detected in Japan.

Assessment of water quality variations under non-rainy and rainy conditions by principal component analysis techniques in Lake Doam watershed, Korea

  • This study was based on water quality data of the Lake Doam watershed, monitored from 2010 to 2013 at eight different sites with multiple physiochemical parameters. The dataset was divided into two sub-datasets, namely, non-rainy and rainy. Principal component analysis (PCA) and factor analysis (FA) techniques were applied to evaluate seasonal correlations of water quality parameters and extract the most significant parameters influencing stream water quality. The first five principal components identified by PCA techniques explained greater than 80% of the total variance for both datasets. PCA and FA results indicated that total nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, total phosphorus, and dissolved inorganic phosphorus were the most significant parameters under the non-rainy condition. This indicates that organic and inorganic pollutants loads in the streams can be related to discharges from point sources (domestic discharges) and non-point sources (agriculture, forest) of pollution. During the rainy period, turbidity, suspended solids, nitrate nitrogen, and dissolved inorganic phosphorus were identified as the most significant parameters. Physical parameters, suspended solids, and turbidity, are related to soil erosion and runoff from the basin. Organic and inorganic pollutants during the rainy period can be linked to decayed matters, manure, and inorganic fertilizers used in farming. Thus, the results of this study suggest that principal component analysis techniques are useful for analysis and interpretation of data and identification of pollution factors, which are valuable for understanding seasonal variations in water quality for effective management.

  • A parametric boundary equation is established for the principal period-2 bulb in the cubic Mandelbrot set. Using its geometry, an efficient escape-time algorithm which reduces the construction time for the period-2 bulbs in the cubic Mandelbrot set is introduced and the implementation graphic results display the fascinating fractal beauty.

Prediction of the $24^{th}$ Solar Maximum Based on the Principal Component-and-Autoregression method

  • Everybody wants to see the future, but nobody does for sure. Reliably forecasting the solar activity in the near future looks like an easy task, but in fact still remains one of difficult problems in the solar-terrestrial research. We have sought for good univariate methods that can predict future smoothed sunspot numbers reasonably well based on past smoothed sunspot number data only. Here we consider a specific method we call principal component-and-autoregression (PCAR) method. The variation of sunspot number during a period of finite duration (past) before an epoch (present) is modeled by a linear combination of a small number of dominant principal components, and this model is extended to the period (future) beyond the epoch using the autoregressive model of finite order. From the application of this method, we find that the $24^{th}$ solar maximum is likely to occur near the end of the year 2013 (and there is a possibility that it occurs earlier near the start of 2013), and to have a peak sunspot number of about 86, indicating that the activity of the $24^{th}$ cycle will be weaker than the average. We will discuss how much this estimate is reliable.

상수관망의 누수감지를 위한 주성분 분석의 적용 가능성에 대한 연구 (Study on the applicability of the principal component analysis for detecting leaks in water pipe networks)

  • In this paper the potential of the principal component analysis(PCA) technique for the application of detecting leaks in water pipe networks was evaluated. For this purpose the PCA was conducted to evaluate the relevance of the calculated outliers of a PCA model utilizing the recorded pipe flows and the recorded pipe leak incidents of a case study water distribution system. The PCA technique was enhanced by applying the computational algorithms developed in this study which were designed to extract a partial set of flow data from the original 24 hour flow data so that the effective outlier detection rate was maximized. The relevance of the calculated outliers of a PCA model and the recorded pipe leak incidents was analyzed. The developed algorithm may be applied in determining further leak detection field work for water distribution blocks that have more than 70% of the effective outlier detection rate. However, the analysis suggested that further development on the algorithm is needed to enhance the applicability of the PCA in detecting leaks by considering series of leak reports happening in a relatively short period.

  • 국내에서 보존중인 148개 누에 품종을 공시하여 화용비율, 상견화율, 수견량, 1l과수, 단견중, 견층중, 견층비율, 5령경과일수, 전령경과일수 등 9개 형질을 조사하여 주성분분석과 집락분석방법으로 품종분류를 하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 상관분석결과, 수견량, 단견중, 견층중, 견층비율, 5령경과일수, 전령경과일수의 6개형질은 상호간에 고도의 정의 상관관계를 보였다. 2. 9개 조사형질의 상관계수에 대한 주성분분석 결과, 제일주성분-제삼주성분까지의 3주성분에 의하 전정보량의 약 805가 해소되었으며, 제1주성분은 견생산성인자, 제이주성분은 고치생산성인자로 특징지워졌으며 제삼주성분은 총합특성치의 특성을 정의하기 어려웠다. 3. 주성분 스코아를 이용하여 계산한 city block distance(품종간거리)에 의하여 148개 누에품종은 7개의 품종군으로 분류되었는데, I군은 견생산성이 낮고 고치생산성이 중 정도인 품종군으로 여러 지리적 품종들이 비교적 고루 분포되어 있었으며, II군은 견생산성은 높으나 고치생산성이 낮으며 일본종으로 구성되어 있었다. 제III군은 견 및 고치생산성이 공히 낮은 품종군이었고, 제IV군은 견생산성과 고치생산성이 다같이 가장 우수하였으며 주로 중국품종으로 구성되어 있었다. 제V군은 견생산성은 높으나 고치생산성이 낮았으며 대부분 유럽종으로 구성되어 있었다. 제VI군은 견 및 고치생산성이 낮은 일본종으로 구성되어 있었다. 3. 지리적 품종과 품종군과의 관계에서 중국품종들은 주로 제IV군에 분포되어 있었고 유럽종은 주로 제5군에 분류되었으며, 일본종은 7개의 품종군에 고루 분포되어 유전적으로 가장 다양한 것으로 나타났다.
