  • The Multi-Prime RSA and the Prime Power RSA are the variants of the RSA cryptosystem, where the Multi-Prime RSA uses the modulus $N=p_1p_2{\cdots}p_r$ for distinct primes $p_1,p_2,{\cdots},p_r$ (r>2) and the Prime Power RSA uses the modulus $N=p^rq$ for two distinct primes p, q and a positive integer r(>1). This paper analyzes the security of these systems by using the technique given by Heninger and Shacham. More specifically, this paper shows that if the $2-2^{1/r}$ random portion of bits of $p_1,p_2,{\cdots},p_r$ is given, then $N=p_1p_2{\cdots}p_r$ can be factorized in the expected polynomial time and if the $2-{\sqrt{2}}$ random fraction of bits of p, q is given, then $N=p^rq$ can be factorized in the expected polynomial time. The analysis is then validated with experimental results for $N=p_1p_2p_3$, $N=p^2q$ and $N=p^3q$.

  • This paper deals with the nodal admittance approach steady-state frequency domain analysis of the three-phase self-excited induction generator (SEIG) driven by the variable speed prime mover as the wind turbine. The steady-state performance analysis of this power conditioner designed for the renewable energy is based on the principle of equating the input mechanical power of the three-phase SEIG to the output mechanical power of the variable speed prime mover mentioned above. Us-ing the approximate frequency domain based equivalent circuit of the three-phase SEIG. The main features of the present algorithm of the steady-state performance analysis of the three-phase SEIG treated here are that the variable speed prime mover characteristics are included in the approximate equivalent circuit of the three-phase SEIG under the condition of the speed changes of the prime mover without complex computations processes. Furthermore, a feedback closed-loop voltage regulation of the three-phase SEIG as a power conditioner which is driven by variable speed prime movers such as the wind turbine(WT) employing the static VAR compensator(SVC) circuit composed of the thyristor phase controlled reactor(TCR) and the thyristor switched capacitor(TSC) controlled by the PI controller is designed and considered for wind-turbine driving power conditioner.

  • This paper presents an energy-efficient (low power) prime-field hyperelliptic curve cryptography (HECC) processor with uniform power draw. The HECC processor performs divisor scalar multiplication on the Jacobian of genus 2 hyperelliptic curves defined over prime fields for arbitrary field and curve parameters. It supports the most frequent case of divisor doubling and addition. The optimized implementation, which is synthesized in a $0.13{\mu}m$ standard CMOS technology, performs an 81-bit divisor multiplication in 503 ms consuming only $6.55{\mu}J$ of energy (average power consumption is $12.76{\mu}W$). In addition, we present a technique to make the power consumption of the HECC processor more uniform and lower the peaks of its power consumption.

  • In this paper, we consider conjugacy of subgroups of some split metacyclic groups of odd prime power order to determine the numbers of conjugacy classes of subgroups of those groups. The study was motivated by the linear isomorphism problem of metacyclic primitive linear groups.

  • This paper presents the digital computer performance evaluations of the three-phase self-excited induction generator (SEIG) driven by the variable speed prime mover such as the wind turbine using the nodal admittance approach steady-state frequency domain analysis with the experimental results. The three-phase SEIG setup is implemented for small-scale rural renewable energy utilizations. The experimental performance results give a good agreement with those ones obtained from the digital computer simulation. Furthermore, a feedback closed-loop voltage regulation of the three-phase SEIG as a power conditioner which is driven by a variable speed prime mover employing the static VAR compensator (SVC) circuit composed of the thyristor phase controlled reactor (TCR) and the thyristor switched capacitor(TSC) is designed and considered herein for the wind-turbine driven the power conditioner. To validate the effectiveness of the SVC-based voltage regulator of the terminal voltage of the three-phase SEIG, an inductive load parameter disturbances in stand-alone are applied and characterized in this paper. In the stand-alone power utilization system, the terminal voltage response and thyristor triggering angle response of the TCR are plotted graphically. The simulation and the experimental results prove the effectiveness and validity of the proposed SVC which is controlled by the Pl controller in terms of fast response and high performances of the three-phase SEIG driven directly by the rural renewable energy utilization like a variable-speed prime mover.

  • This paper presents methods to improve performance of the power supply system in a NASA deep space explorer. In the Stirling engine driven reciprocating Brushless DC (BLDC) generator, the accurate position information of the prime mover is important to diagnose the performance of the engine and prevent distortion of the output power. Since sensors to detect the position are fragile and unreliable, and conventional sensorless techniques have drawbacks in the low speed region, a novel sensorless position detection technique for the prime mover has been proposed and verified. Another major issue of the generator for the spacecraft is power density maximization. The mass of the power system is important to the mass of the satellite. Therefore, the components of the spacecraft should be lightweight. Conventional rectification methods cannot achieve the maximum power possible due to non-optimal current waveforms. The optimal current waveform for maximizing power density and minimizing machine size and weight in a nonsinusoidal power supply system has been derived, incorporated in a control system, and verified by simulation work.

  • Though the concept of unique factorization was formulated in tile 19th century, Euclid already had considered the prime factorization of natural numbers, so called tile fundamental theorem of arithmetic. The unique factorization of algebraic integers was a crucial problem in solving elliptic equations and the Fermat Last Problem in tile 19th century On the other hand the unique factorization of the formal power series ring were a critical problem in the past century. Unique factorization is one of the idealistic condition in computation and prime elements and prime ideals are vital ingredients in thinking and solving problems.

  • For a permutation ${\mu}$ in S$\sub$b/, the limit algebra A${\mu}$ of the stationary system given by ${\mu}$ is isomorphic to a refinement limit algebra if and only if its exponent set E(${\mu}$) is the set {0}. In the current paper, we prove a sufficient condition under which E(${\mu}$)={0} when the order of ${\mu}$ is a power of p, where p is a prime number dividing b.

  • A non-coherent synchronous all-optical code-division multiple-access (CDMA) network is proposed. In this network, symmetric codes derived from prime sequence codes are used. We present the construction of symmetric codes and show that the pseudo-orthogonality of the new codes is the same as that of the original prime-sequence codes while the cardinality of the new codes is larger than that of the prime sequence codes and the modified prime codes in the same field GF(p). Therefore, an optical CDMA LAN using symmetric codes can have a larger number of potential subscribers. The new codes allow designing fully programmable serial all-optical transmitter and receiver suitable for low-loss, high-capacity, optical CDMA LANs. It is also shown that compared to systems using modified prime codes the proposed system can achieve better BER performance for low received chip optical power.
