For the development of functional food for hair-growth stimulation, this study has tried an in vivo and clinical test. As an in vivo test male Sprague Dawley rats and as a clinical test 27 baldheaded or loosehaired men were recruited. Before the experiment, the total hair count in 6 $\textrm{mm}^2$ of the designated area was 46.5. In four weeks and eight weeks of the functional food feeding it increased to 61.8 and 75.3, respectively. Hence the net increase was totaled at 62% in eight weeks. Also, depilation was decreased by 28%. Before the experiment, average hair loss was 65.7. In four weeks and eight weeks of the functional food feeding it decreased to 55.2 and 47.3, respectively. LDL and phospholipids were decreased by 42% and 36%, respectively during that period. However, HDL was increased by 21%. Forty percent of the subjects responded that itching of head skin was reduced and 34% responded to have reduced dandruff. No side-effects among the subjects were examined and no other blood pa-rameters were significantly affected by the diet. The results in this study suggest that biotin-rich functional food may stimulate cholesterol and lipid metabolism and blood flow leading to the growth of new hair and prevention of hair loss.
The moisture sorption isotherms of vacuum-dried edible green alga (Capsosiphon fulvescens) powders were determined at 25, 35, and $45^{\circ}C$ and water activity ($a_w$) in the range of 0.11~0.94. An inversion effect of temperature was found at high water activity (>0.75). Various mathematical models were fitted to the experimental data, and Brunauer, Emmett, and Teller model was found to be the most suitable model describing the relationship between equilibrium moisture content and water activity (<0.45). Henderson model could also provide excellent agreement between the experimental and predicted values despite of the intersection point. Net isosteric heat of adsorption decreased from 15.77 to 9.08 kJ/mol with an increase in equilibrium moisture content from 0.055 to $0.090kg\;H_2O/kg$ solids. The isokinetic temperature ($T_{\beta}$) was 434.79 K, at which all the adsorption reactions took place at the same rate. The enthalpy-entropy compensation suggested that the mechanism of the adsorption process was shown to be enthalpy-driven.

The development of operational performance indicators is of utmost importance for nuclear power plants, since they measure, track, and trend plant operation. Leading indicators are ideal for reducing the likelihood of consequential events. This paper describes the operational data analysis of the information contained in the Corrective Action Program. The methodology considers human error and organizational factors because of their large contribution to consequential events. The results include a tool developed from the data to be used for the identification, prediction, and reduction of the likelihood of significant consequential events. This tool is based on the resilience curve that was built from the plant's operational data. The stress is described by the number of unresolved condition reports. The strain is represented by the number of preventive maintenance tasks and other periodic work activities (i.e., baseline activities), as well as, closing open corrective actions assigned to different departments to resolve the condition reports (i.e., corrective action workload). Beyond the identified resilience threshold, the stress exceeds the station's ability to operate successfully and there is an increased likelihood that a consequential event will occur. A performance indicator is proposed to reduce the likelihood of consequential events at nuclear power plants.

This paper proposes a preventive maintenance scheduling system which is a user-friendly decision-making support system. The objective of the development of the package is to supply KEPCO's working experts with a useful tool for gaining a practical maintenance schedule. This program based on the MS Windows is made up of two main modules. The first is an interactive decision-making support module(IDSM). The main objective of this module is to provide various useful text and graphic information to users, and enable practicing engineers with sensitivity analysis of a targeting maintenance schedule. The second is a mathematical optimization module(MOM). In this module, the objective function of levelizing net reserve ratio with daily time-increment is optimized using the relaxation method.
Pyroprocess technology has been considered as a fuel cycle option to solve the spent fuel accumulation problems in Korea. The Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, Daejeon, Korea has been studying pyroprocess technology, and the conceptual design of an engineering-scale pyroprocess facility, called the Reference Engineering-scale Pyroprocess Facility, has been performed on the basis of a 10 ton heavy metal throughput per year. In this paper the concept of Reference Engineering-scale Pyroprocess Facility is introduced along with its safety requirements for the protection of facility workers, collocated workers, the off-site public, and the environment. For the identification of safety structures, systems, and components and/or administrative controls, the following activities were conducted: (1) identifying hazards associated with operations; (2) identifying potential events associated with these hazards; and (3) identifying the potential preventive and/or mitigative controls that reduce the risk associated with these accident events. This study will be used to perform a safety evaluation for accidents involving any of the hazards identified, and to establish safety design policies and propose a more definite safety design.
Objectives: To validate the role of a new information and communication technology platform that we created for the betterment of the oral health of persons with disabilities and for providing appropriate health care services. Methods: A Delphi survey was conducted among 16 people in various professions, including academia, government agencies, and dentistry, to evaluate the validity of the information and communication technology platform. Moreover, platform satisfaction was evaluated using a user experience questionnaire among 200 people, including persons with disabilities, parents, and public institutions. Results: Experts in consensus indicated a high validity for the categories of service provider (CV=0.29, CVR=0.69), service target (CV=0.29, CVR=0.38), service contests (CV=0.27, CVR=0.63), and financial support (CV=0.30, CVR=0.63) in our information and communication technology platform. In addition, information from questionnaires on user experience and communication technology satisfaction analysis showed that both users and providers were highly satisfied with the platform. Conclusions: The provision of oral health services based on the new information and communication technology platform has numerous advantages, in addition to providing adequate oral health care for the disabled. Furthermore, the social safety net for improved oral health may be further strengthened.
According to the defense-in-depth concept, not only a preventive strategy but also an integrated cyberattack response strategy for NPPs should be established. However, there are limitations in terms of responding to penetrations, and the existing EOPs are insufficient for responding to intentional disruptions. In this study, we focus on manipulative attacks on process data. Based on an analysis of the related attack vectors and possible attack scenarios, we adopt the Kalman filter to detect process anomalies that can be caused by manipulations of process data. To compensate for these manipulations and secure MCR operators' situational awareness, we modify the Kalman filter such that it can filter out the effects of the manipulations adaptively. A case study was conducted using a hardware-in-the-loop system. The results indicated that the developed method can be used to verify whether the displayed safety-related state data are reliable and to implement the required safety response actions.
To study the developments and variations of unsafe behaviors in nuclear power plants thus reduce the possibility of human-related accidents, this paper, based on the Game Theory, focused on the changes in benefits of the Department of Management, Operational and Emergency in a nuclear power plant, and established the expected revenue functions of these departments. Additionally, the preventive measures of unsafe behaviors in nuclear power plants were also presented in terms of these 3 departments. Results showed that the violations of the Operation Department (OD) and the Emergency Department (ED) were not only relevant with the factors such as their own risks, costs, and the responsibility-sharing due to accidents, but also affected by the safety investments from the Management Department (MD). Furthermore, results also showed that the accident-induced responsibility-sharing of both the OD and the ED would rise, if the MD increased the investments in safety. As a result, the probability of violation behaviors of these 3 departments would be attenuated consciously, which would reduce the unsafe behaviors in the nuclear power plants significantly.
The main criteria used in NEI 18-04 to define SSCs as risk-significant include (1) the SSC is required to keep all LBEs within the F-C target, and (2) the total frequency with the SSC failed exceeds 1% of the limit for at least one of the three cumulative risk metrics used for evaluating the integrated plant risk. The first one is a reasonable criterion in determining the risk significant SSCs. However, the second criterion may not be adequate to serve the purpose of determining the risk significance of SSCs. In the second criterion, the cumulative risk metric values representing the integrated plant risk (less the preventive and mitigative effects of the SSC being evaluated) are compared to a risk limit that represents a very small contribution to the overall integrated plant risk, which corresponds appropriately to the contributions from individual SSCs. The easiest approach to redefine the NEI 18-04 definition of risk-significant SSCs in relation to the integrated plant risk metrics is to compare the difference, between the risk metric value calculated with the SSC failed and the risk metric value calculated with the SSC credited, with 1% of the risk limit established for the integrated plant risk metrics.
Background: This study aimed to analyze trends in oral health research among people with disabilities. Methods: Data were obtained from 70 oral studies on individuals with disabilities from 2000 to 2024. Keywords were analyzed. Frequency, betweenness centrality, and cluster analyses were performed using NetMiner. Results: The main keywords for oral health research on disabled people were oral health, dental caries, DMFT (decayed-missing-filled-teeth), dental treatment, oral health centers, and disabled children. As a result of the centrality analysis, DMFT had the highest connectivity, followed by disabled children, special care dentistry, oral health behavior, periodontitis, and health insurance. Cluster analysis results of research on disabled people: Group 1, oral diseases and functions of disabled people; Group 2, oral care for disabled children; Group 3, dental treatment for disabled people; Group 4, oral health policy; Group 5, oral care by dental hygienists; and Group 6, conservative dentistry. Conclusion: Considering the increase in the number of disabled people in a super-aging society, research on ways to promote oral health for disabled people, oral health policies, and training of oral health experts for disabled people is required.
