  • The purpose of this study is to estimate the economic value and productivity achieved through a reduction in fishing vessels engaged in coastal and offshore fisheries. We found that the value of increasing catch by types in offshore and coastal fisheries was about 17,338 billion won. To examine the economic value, a cost-benefit analysis was applied. This is based on the total cost of vessel reduction (4,576 billion won) assumed to be invested equally each year for five years. BCR and NPV with a discount rate (5.5%) were used to compare the profit of fishery activities in offshore and coastal areas. The model results showed that the NPV and BCR in offshore and coastal fisheries was 5,522 billion won and 2.340 respectively.

  • The present study examined the effects of self-construal and message orientation on value advocacy advertising. An experiment of college students was conducted to investigate relationship between the attitude toward advocacy advertisements and the purchase intention. The results showed that people with interdependent self-construal have more positive attitude toward the advocacy advertisements than people with independent self-construal. The interaction effects between self-construal and message orientation on the value advocacy advertisements were not found significant. However, it was found that even people with independent self-construal showed more positive attitude toward the advocacy advertisement with others-orientation messages than the advertisement with self-orientation messages in value advocacy advertising. Based on the findings, theoretical and managerial implications for value advocacy advertising were discussed.

  • The aim of the present study is to estimates the economic value of household work done by fulltime home makers, using alternative methods of valuation household work in Pusan Korea. Eight findings, five different methods -Self Estimation by Home Makers, Reservation Wage, Opportunity Cost, Individual function Cost, Replacement Cost(Visiting Housekeeper, Housekeeper, General Managemet, Housekeeper & General Management)- are tried for the estimation of economic value of household work. The results of this study can be outlined as follows : 1) The economic value of household work varies substantially by the methods of estimating. The averages are : 2) The economic value of household work varies with the level of education, ages, the number of children, the stage of FLC in all method of estimation, and the level of income in self estimation by home makers, Reservation wage. Specially, FLC revealed good explanation variable in method of estimation as input household work time. 3) The gap between two-day survey and three-day survey in household work time questionaire didn't so much.

  • Advance of the Internet environment is applied not only to information search but also to the area of consumption behavior. Current research analyzes online use behavior and online information search of consumers in terms of users' perception. With the result of the research, it is noticed that promotion focus brings broader variation of information use behavior, and utilitarian value has a beneficial impact on the online exploratory information search. In addition, it is revealed that the more exploratory the information search is, the wider the range of online shopping information search is. Finally, people who have utilitarian shopping value showed more exploratory behavior in online search, especially for the search of informational products, than those who have hedonic shopping value. Present research is believed to improve practical influence of consumers' personality on online use behavior when customers purchase search products online. As a result, it would contribute to consumer research and marketing held online.

  • Purpose - This study aims to provide a brief understanding of usability and its extended models with TAM as well as identifying additional determinants that had been suggested in previous studies on mobile services. Research design, data, and methodology - Empirical data were collected by conducting a field survey of potential mobile application service users. The call for participation was also made in mobile related application issues, which were widely discussed. Result - The ease of use and usefulness had a significantly positive influence on attitude and intention. It also was revealed that added value services can offer practical value to customers. Thus, positive attitudes toward the adoption of services by customers are present when they perceive higher usefulness and ease of use of mobile application services. Conclusion - It was indicated that customers who are more inclined to try new products or who have a higher demand for new things tend to think about those functionalities and added value mobile application services from the perspective of usefulness and ease of use and operation.

  • This paper for real time object tracking in this treatise detect histogram analysis that is accumulation value of binary conversion density and edge information and body that move by real time use of difference Image techniques and proposed method to object tracking. Firstly, we extract edge that can reduce quantity of data keeping information about form of input image in object detection. Object is extracted by performing difference image and binarization in edge image. Area of detected object is determined by threshold value that divide sum of horizontal accumulation value about binary conversion density by value that add horizontalityㆍverticality maximum accumulation value. Object is tracked by comparing similarity with object that is detected in previous frame and present frame. As experiment result, proposed algorithm could improve the object detection speed, and could track object by real time and could track local movement.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate a simple present value model Involving earnings (i.e., the earnings discount model) that presumes a relationship between stock prices and earnings. The model suggests a simple linear equilibrium relationship between stock prices and earnings. The tests for cointegration render strong support for the cointegration hypothesis between stock prices (Pt) and earnings (Xt) even at the one-percent significance level. The tests are based on residuals from a cointegrating regression of Pt on Pt+l + Xt. This suggests that there is a stable long-nu equilibrium relationship between stock prices and earnings. The results of the tests lead to the acceptance of the present value model of stock prices involving earnings.

  • In this paper, we estimate the economic benefits of Energy Storage Systems (ESSs) for peak load shaving in an urban railway substation using the annual cost. The annual investment cost of ESSs is estimated using Net Present Value (NPV) and compared with the cost reduction of electricity by the ESS. The optimal capacities of the battery and Power Converting System (PCS) are determined for peak load shaving. The optimal capacity of the ESS and the peak load shaving is determined to maximize the profit by the ESS. The proposed method was applied to real load data in an urban railway substation, and the results show that electric power costs can be reduced. Other aspects of the ESS, such as the lifetime and unit price of the battery, are also investigated economically.

  • We propose a model for the line expansion problem in the AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diodes) industry, which now faces market uncertainty: for example, changing customer needs, technological development path, etc. We focus on the optimal investment time and size of the AMOLED production lines. In particular, employed here is the ROV (Real Options Valuation) model to show how to capture the value of line expansion and to determine the optimal investment time. The ROV framework provides a systematic procedure to quantify an expected outcome of a flexible decision which is not possible in the frame of the traditional NPV (Net Present Value) approach. Furthermore, we also use Monte Carlo simulation to measure the uncertainty associated with the line expansion decision; Monte Carlo simulation estimates the volatility of a decision alternative. Lastly, we present a scenario planning to be conducted for what-if analysis of the ROV model.
