  • In this study, Coal gasification slag(CGS) was replaced with fine aggregate to verify the physical properties of the concrete according to the change in cement types. As a result of the study, the use of CGS resulted in a decrease of superplasticizer and an decrease of AE agent. In addition, when 50% of mixed cement and CGS were replaced, the initial strength expression was delayed, and the strength enhancing effect was judged to be weak.

  • Polymer cement mortar which is used as material for aging concrete structures is generally mixed manually and applied on the job site. but, to secure the required quality of the mortar, pre-mixed polymer cement mortar is favored. This study was initiated to four different pre-mixed polymer cement mortars which are produced in Korea. The for pre-mixed mortars were selected and tested with respect to physical and mechanical properties an proved that their qualities were better than those of common cement concrete mortars.

  • In this study, concrete durability was reviewed before CGS, a by-product generated from IGCC, was used as a fine aggregate for concrete. The characteristics of concrete and effect on carbonization according to the type of pre-mixed cement and the CGS substitution rate were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the depth of carbonation according to the pre-mixed cement types increased by up to 52%, and the carbonation resistance tended to be similar overall when CGS was used as a fine aggregate.

  • The purpose of this study is to improve the durability performance of polymer modified cement composites for repair of concrete under combined aging conditions. The experimental procedure was divided into three parts. First, the replacement level of mineral admixtures in polymer modified cement composites were determined in an experimental study based on a Box Behnken design. Second, the flow value, compressive strength and chloride permeability test of sixteen types of mixtures were conducted. Test results show that the polymer modified cement composites were effected on the improvement of the compressive strength and permeability performance. Third, the effects on the replacement level of silica fume mixture was evaluated by the compressive strength, chloride permeability, chemical resistance and repeated freezing and thawing cycles test. They demonstrated that the polymer modified cement composites using mixture of silica fume, fly ash, and blast furnace slag improved the durability performance.

  • This paper discusses shear behavior of Joint with premix mortar and strain hardening cement composites(SHCC) with PVA and PE fibers. The main variables considered include the type of cement composites(premixed mortar, SHCC with hybrid fiber) and reinforcement. It was evaluated that shear load had a good accordance with the test and equation result.

  • This research is related to 240MPa ultra-high strength concrete(UHSC) with extremely loss W/B ratio. For this development, High flow cement is mainly used which has a short reaction rate due to the high blaine and high early strength, which can make greater fluidity in case of very low W/C ratio. It made the best mixture using the mineral admixtures silica fume, slag powder and special admixture. For dispersibility and homogeneity of cement binder, cement of premix type is produced using omni-mixer. Moreover, it ensures the fluidity of ultra-high strength concrete(UHSC). For having a good fire performance, we made an experiment special coarse aggregate. As a result, we got 180MPa in case of water curing, 200MPa in case of steam curing and uniform UHSC of 240MPa in case of a special curing method.
