돼지의 이유자돈 설사증에 대한 Enrofloxacin의 효과 (Effect of Enrofloxacin on Post Weaning Diarrhea in Pig)

  • 돼지의 이유자돈 설사병을 효과적으로 치료, 예방하고자 Enrofloxacin(Baytril premix)을 사료에 혼합투여하여 설사 발생여부, 증체량, 사료요구율, 돈분내 대장균수의 변화, 분리한 대장균의 항균물질에 대한 감수성을 조사하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 이유자돈에 Baytril premix를 급여하였던 바 대조구보다 62일령에서 체중은 3.2kg의 통계적 유의차이를 보여(p<0.01) 현저한 증체효과 나타내었으며, 사료요구율도 계선되었고 설사발생도 예방할 수 있었다. 2. Baytril Premix를 급여한 자돈의 분변내 대장균수는 3.14$\times$$10^{8}$에서 5일후 2$\times$$10^{7}$ 개/g 10일후 1$\times$$10^{5}$개/g으로 현저히 감소하였다. 3. 공시농장에서 분리한 E. coli 10중의 항균물질에 대한 감수성은 baytril, gentamicin 및 trimeoprim+sulfamethoxazole에 감수성이 우수하였다.다.

난백분말 첨가 튀김가루 프리믹스의 품질 특성 (Quality Characteristics of Premix Frying Powders supplemented with Egg White Powder)

  • Premix frying powders were prepared by supplementation with 0%, 3%, 6%, 9%, or 12% egg white powder. The following quality characteristics of the fried batter were assessed: proximate composition and amino acid content of premix frying powder; viscosity and pick-up ratio of frying batter; moisture content, lipid content, color, texture and DPPH radical scavenging activity; and sensory evaluation items. Addition of egg white powder in place of wheat flour resulted in lower moisture content (p<0.01) and lower carbohydrate content (p<0.001), higher crude protein content (p<0.001), higher ash protein content (p<0.001), and higher amino acid content (p<0.01) in the premix frying powder. Lower viscosity and higher pick-up ratio (p<0.001) of the frying batter were observed. The resultant fritters had the higher moisture content and higher lipid content (p<0.001). They also showed the lighter color, and had lesser redness and yellowness (p<0.001). Considering texture, the fritters were harder, had higher fracturability and higher adhesiveness (p<0.001), lower springiness (p<0.001), were less chewy (p<0.01), and had lower cohesiveness (p<0.001). Examination of DPPH radical scavenging activity showed higher antioxidant activity (p<0.001) upon addition of egg white powder. Sensory evaluation of the fried batters showed the best outcomes for the group containing 6% white egg powder, in terms of appearance (p<0.05), flavor (p<0.001), taste (p<0.01), texture (p<0.01), and overall quality (p<0.001). Based on the results of this research, we postulate that the addition of 6% egg white powder to premix frying powder will not only improve customer preference and product quality but also enhance the nutrition and functionality of the product.

소나무껍질 추출물(피타민)을 섭취한 닭고기의 품질 및 저장성 (The Shelf Life and Meat Quality of Broilers Fed Pine Bark Extract (Pitamin))

  • 소나무껍질 추출물인 피타민은 다양한 생리활성을 발휘하는 항산화 및 항균제로서 알려져 있으며, 이러한 물질은 또한 인간의 삶에서 폭넓게 이용되었다. 브로일러 사료 내 피타민 프리믹스가 닭가슴살의 품질특성, TBARS 평가 및 관능평가에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위해서 35일간의 실험을 수행하였다. 실험처리구 4개는 대조구, 항생제 0.1% 첨가구, 피타민 프리믹스 0.1%, 피타민 프리믹스 0.2% 첨가구로 구분하였다. 닭 가슴살의 단백질과 아미노산 함량은 각 처리구간 통계적인 유의차가 없었다. 피타민 프리믹스 첨가사료를 섭취한 닭고기의 pH는 대조구 및 항생제 첨가구 보다도 낮았으나, 닭 가슴살의 보수력은 피타민 프리믹스 첨가구가 대조구 및 항생제 첨가구에 비해서 유의적으로 높았다(p<0.05). 닭 껍질을 포함한 다리살의 TBARS 값은 저장일수가 증가함에 따라서 높아지는 경향이었으며, 피타민 프리믹스 첨가구가 대조구 및 항생제 첨가구에 비해서 유의적으로 낮았다(p<0.05). 항생제 첨가구를 제외한 삶은 닭고기의 관능평가 성적은 피타민 프리믹스 첨가구가 대조구에 비해서 유의적으로 높았다(p<0.05). 이 결과는 브로일러 사료 내 피타민 프리믹스가 닭고기의 품질, 맛, 향 그리고 저장성을 향상시킬 수 있음을 시사해준다.

반응표면 방법에 의한 도우넛용 냉동 yeast dough의 안정성 향상 (Improvement of Frozen Yeast Dough Stability for Doughnuts by Response Surface Methodology)

  • 냉동용 yeast doughnut dough의 안정성을 향상시킬 수 있는 적정배합비를 결정하기 위하여 설탕, SSL 및 $KBrO_{3}$의 첨가량을 3 변수와 3 levels fractional factorial 설계에 의하여 RSM computer program을 사용하여 최적조건을 조사하였다. 대조구의 부피에 가장 가까운 도우넛을 생산하는데 적합한 배합은 premix에 설탕 2%, SSL 0.3%, $KBrO_{3}$ 25ppm을 첨가하는 것이었으며, 이때 compressed yeast는 premix의 7.8%를 사용하였다. 그리고 대조구의 텍스쳐에 가까운 도우넛을 생산하는데 적합한 배합은 premix에 설탕 2%, SSL 0.4%, $KBrO_{3}$ 10ppm을 첨가하는 것이었고, 전체적인 품질이 우수한 도우넛을 생산하는데 적합한 배합은 premix에 설탕 2%, SSL 0.4%, $KBrO_{3}$, 20ppm을 첨가하며, 이 때 역시 compressed yeast는 premix의 7.8%를 사용하는 것이었다. 그리고 반죽을 만들 때 floor time을 생략하는 것이 도우넛의 부피와 텍스쳐를 우수하게 유지하는데 도움이 되었다. 이와 같이 결정된 냉동용 yeast doughnut dough의 배합비에 따라 반죽을 만들어 성형한 다음 $-18^{\circ}C$에서 냉동저장하면서 저장 중 품질변화를 측정한 결과, 저장 2주까지는 도우넛의 부피와 텍스쳐가 대조구와 유사하였으나, 3주 후부터는 대구조보다 바람직하지 못하게 나타났다.

비타민프리믹스 무첨가시 사료 중 단백질원이 조피볼락(Sebastes schlegeli) 치어의 성장과 체성분에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Dietary Proteins without Vitamin Premix Supplementation on the Growth and Body Composition of Juvenile Black Rockfish Sebastes schlegeli)

  • A feeding experiment was conducted to determine the nutritional value of various dietary protein sources without a vitamin premix supplementation in juvenile black rockfish, Sebastes schlegeli. Diets containing similar quantities of lipid and carbohydrate with 50% crude protein from fish meal (FM)/soybean meal (SBM)/corn gluten meal (CGM), FM only, casein/gelatin, high FM/low casein and low FM/high casein were fed to rockfish along with a commercial rockfish diet. The diet containing only 65.6% FM and the commercial rockfish diet produced significantly greater weight gain (WG) and feed efficiency (FE) than all other semipurified diets (SPDs); the economical diet with 52.8% FM, 10% SBM and 5% CGM produced lower WG than the diet containing FM and commercial rockfish diet, but FE and survival were similar both diets. Intermediate responses were observed for rockfish fed the SPD containing 32.8% FM and 27.4% casein, while SPDs containing 10% FM and 41.8% casein and 38.5% casein and 10% gelatin yielded the lowest WG and FE. Some differences in tissue indices and body composition of rockfish were induced by the diets containing various protein sources and levels without the vitamin premix supplementation.

Effect on Milking Performance of Vitamin-Trace Element Supplements to Early Lactation Italian Brown Cows Grazing Ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) Pasture

  • The objective of this study was to examine the effects of concentrates containing different levels of a vitamin-trace elements premix on milk yield and composition of dairy cows. The trial, which lasted 14 weeks, was conducted from January to March and used 45 multiparous Brown cows in the early phase of lactation. Cows (n = 15 per treatment) were randomly allocated to three dietary treatments: the first group (control, C-0) was fed pelleted concentrate containing background vitamins and trace elements that supplied 1.0 times cows' daily requirements; the second group were fed the same concentrate, but containing 2.5 g/kg of vitamin and trace mineral premix per kg of concentrate (C-2.5); the third group were fed the same concentrate, but containing 5 g/kg of vitamin and trace mineral premix per kg of concentrate (C-5). The daily ration included ad libitum chopped oat hay, and the cows also had 8 h/d grazing on a ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) pasture. During the performance trial, cow milk yield was daily recorded and individual milk samples were analysed for milk composition and to determine milk renneting properties. Cows fed the intermediate premix level (C-2.5) in diet showed the highest fat-corrected milk production (p<0.05) compared to other groups. None of the milk quality parameters studied were influenced by dietary treatment, except for milk rheological parameters (rennet clotting time and curd firmness) that were positively improved in cows fed the C-2.5 diet (p<0.05). The findings from this study show that intermediate level of vitamin-trace elements premix in concentrate can be advantageously used in grazing dairy cows without negative effects on yield and quality of milk produced.

돼지의 호흡기질병 치료 및 예방에 대한 Enrofloxacin의 효과 (Effect of Enrofloxacin (Baytril Premix)for the Treatment and Prevention of Respiratory Diseases in Swine)

  • 돼지의 호흡기질병을 효과적으로 치료 및 예방하고자 Enrofloxacin(Baytril premix)를 사료에 혼합하여 호흡기질병이 산발적으로 발생하고 있는 돈군에 투여하여 호흡기질병의 치료여부, 증체량, 사료요구율, 폐병변치 등을 조사하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 육성돈군에 Enrofloxacin(Baytril premix)를 10일간 급여하였던 바 증체량은 33일동안 31kg이었으나 대조구에서는 20.5kg으로써 통계적 유의차를 보였으며(p<0.05), 사료요구율도 개선되었고(p<0.05), 호흡기질병의 임상증상도 없어졌다. 2. 폐병변조사에서 Baytril 급여구에서는 평균 폐병변의 형성정도는 전체 폐면적의 7.92%이었으나 대조구에서는 15.8%의 심한 병변이 형싱되어 있었다. 3. 공시농장에서 발생하고 있는 호흡기질병은 Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae에 의한 흉막폐렴, Mycoplasma성 유행성폐렴 및 Pasteurella multocida에 의한 폐렴 등이었다.

  • 어분이 $40\%$ 첨가된 조피볼락 실용 배합사료의 미네랄 첨가효과와 적정 mineral premix 개발에 필요한 자료를 제공하기 위해 mineral premix중에 P, Ca, Zn, Mg, Fe, K, Mn 및 Se을 각각 첨가하지 않은 실험구와 mineral pre-mix 전부를 첨가하지 않은 실험구를 설정하여 9주간 3 반복으로 사육하였다. 어분 $60\%$ 첨가사료 (HF)와 어분 $40\%$ 첨가사료 (대조구)에 미네랄을 모두 첨가했을 때의 증체율 및 사료효율은 서로 차이가 없었다 (P>0.05). 어분을 $40\%$ 첨가한 사료에 P, Mg, Fe 및 Mn을 각각 첨가하지 않은 사료의 증체율은 미네랄을 모두 첨가한 HF 사료 및 대조사료와 유의차가 없었고 (P>0.05), Ca, Zn, K 및 Se을 각각 첨가하지 않은 사료는 대조구 및 HF사료보다 유의하게 낮았다 (P<0.05). 일일 사료섭취율은 사료간에 유의차는 없었으며, 사료효율은 Zn 무첨가구와 mineral premix를 첨가하지 않은 실험구가 대조구보다 낮은 값 (P<0.05)을 보였으며, 그 외 실험구들은 차이가 없었다. 간의 일반성분 및 중량지수는 사료의 미네랄에 영향을 받지 않았다 (P>0.05). 위의 결과로부터 사료에 어분이 $40\%$ 함유된 사료에는 P, Mg, Fe 및 Mn을 별도로 첨가하지 않아도 될 것으로 판단되며, Ca, Zn, K 및 Se은 별도 첨가가 필요할 것으로 보인다.

Apparent Digestibility, Nitrogen Balance, Ruminal Microbial Nitrogen Production and Blood Metabolites in Thai Brahman Cattle Fed a Basal Diet of Rice Straw and Supplemented with Some Tropical Protein-rich Trees

  • The effects of four types of tropical protein-rich trees on nutrient digestibility, nitrogen (N) balance, urinary purine derivative (PD) excretion and blood metabolites in four Thai Brahman cattle (290${\pm}$2.5 kg) were studied. The animals were fed twice daily, with each feeding consisting of 1 kg (fresh weight) rice straw and one of the four dietary supplements: i) 1.98 kg oven-dried rain tree pods (RTP) and 20 g premix (RTPP), ii) 980 g RTP and 1 kg sun-dried leucaena leaves and 20 g premix (LLRT), iii) 980 g RTP and 1 kg sun-dried cassia leaves and 20 g premix (CLRT) and iv) 980 g RTP and 1 kg sun-dried mulberry leaves and 20 g premix (MLRT). The apparent dry matter (DM) and organic matter (OM) digestibilities were higher (p<0.05) in cattle fed the CLRT supplement than in those fed the other supplements, whilst the apparent digestibility of neutral detergent fibre (NDF) was higher (p<0.05) in cattle fed the CLRT and MLRT supplements than in those fed the other supplements. The N-balance of cattle fed LLRT and CLRT supplements was higher (p<0.05) than in cattle fed RTPP and MLRT supplements, whilst the apparent digestibility of N was highest (p<0.05) in cattle fed RTPP supplement, compared to the other supplements. Allantoin and PD excretion in the urine, and the ratios of allantoin/DOMI and PD/DOMI were higher (p<0.05) in cattle fed RTPP and MLRT than for those fed LLRT and CLRT supplements. Plasma ${\beta}$-hydroxy butyrate (${\beta}$-HBA) and insulin concentrations were higher (p<0.05) in cattle fed RTPP supplement than in those fed the other supplements. The study demonstrated the value of using local multipurpose trees (MPTs) to improve Brahman cattle feeding systems in the tropics.

Effects of Inclusion Levels of Dietary Vitamins and Trace Minerals on Growth Performance and Nutrient Digestibility in Growing Pigs

  • Two feeding trials were conducted to evaluate the effects of inclusion levels of dietary vitamin and trace mineral (VTM) premixes on growth and nutrient digestibility in growing pigs. A total of 112 pigs ($24.82{\pm}3.22kg$) were employed for 49 days (exp. 1), and 168 pigs ($21.64{\pm}1.41kg$) for 40 days (exp. 2) in completely randomized block designs. Treatments were: 1) 100%, 2) 150%, 3) 200% and 4) 250% NRC (1998) requirement of VTM in exp. 1, and the ratio of vitamins to trace minerals at 1) 100:100%, 2) 100:150%, 3) 150:100% and 4) 150:150% of NRC (1998) requirement in exp. 2. Basal diets for feeding trials were formulated to contain 3,310 kcal ME/kg and 18% crude protein, and contained 0.25% chromic oxide as an indigestible marker for digestibility trials. Increasing dietary VTM premix in growing pigs had linear and quadratic effects (p<0.05) on ADG, and feed conversion ratio was also improved (p<0.05) as VTM premix was increased by 150-250% of NRC (1998) requirements in exp. 1. Adding vitamin to trace mineral premixes at 150% NRC (1998) over the control improved (p<0.05) ADG and feed efficiency in growing pigs, but performances were not improved by vitamin nor by trace mineral premixes alone (p>0.15) (exp. 2). There were no differences (p>0.05) in the digestibilities of energy, crude protein and fat among dietary treatments. However, increasing dietary VTM premix in growing pigs had a linear effect (p<0.05) on the digestibilities of calcium and phosphorus. The 200 or 250% fed group showed improved (p<0.05) calcium digestibility, and 250% fed group also showed improved (p<0.05) phosphorus digestibility as compared to 100% or 150% fed group (exp. 1). The digestibilities of Ca and P were higher (p<0.05) in 150% addition of vitamins than in 150% addition of trace minerals in the diet (exp. 2).
