Background and objective: This study was conducted to investigate the effects and preferences of horticultural therapy programs for stress relief according to MBTI personality types (Judging and Perceiving types) of female undergraduate students. Methods: The participants were divided into 15 Judging and 15 Perceiving types based on lifestyle preferences of the MBTI personality test, and a total of 30 participants participated in the horticultural therapy programs for 6 sessions. Results: Both Judging and Perceiving types showed a significant decrease in stress after participating in the horticultural therapy programs. Among the 8 life stress subfactors, Judging types showed significant stress relieving effects in 5 subfactors (relationship with the opposite sex, relationship with family, economic problems, future problems, value problems), while Perceiving types showed stress relieving effects in only 3 subfactors (relationship with family, economic problems, future problems). However, the changes in stress relief of 8 subfactors were not significantly different between the two personality types. The most preferred program for the Judging types was 'Making a flower basket', while the most preferred ones for the Perceiving types were 'Planting monstera', and 'Making preserved lemons with marigold', suggesting that the preferences varied depending on personality types. Conclusion: Therefore, it is necessary to develop suitable horticultural therapy programs for different subjects based on their personality types to enhance the effect of the programs on the subjects.

Results were as follows; In clothing preference for mother daughter dyads there was a tendency emerged that a mother's clothing preference affected on clothing evaluation of their daughter and there was more powerful dyads relationship between mother and daughter highschool students group than elementary school students group. The clothing preferences of the 3 age group showed significant differences. In clothing category, daughters preferred skirt style while mothers preferred pants style. In masculinity and feminity of clothing design the elementary school students and mother group preferred more feminine design than high school students, however complex and simple dimension of clothing no significant differences existed and all the their age group preferred simpler design.
Nursing involves deep human interpersonal relationships between nurses and patients. But in modem Korea, the nurse - patient relationship tends to be ritualistic and mechanestic. Patients usually express the hope that nurses be more tender and kind. Patients expect nurses to express their warmth especially through nonverbal behaviour. This study was conducted to identify patients' preferences for nurse's nonverbal expressions of warmth. Through the confirmation of these preferences, nurses may learn how to enhance their interpersonal relationships with patients. Subjects for the study were 73 patients who had been admitted to a university teaching hospital for at least three days and agreed to be interviewed by the investigator. The interactions were studied nonverbal expressions of warmth during nursing rounds and administration of oral medication. The interview schedule was expecially designed by the investigator to measure the nurse's posture, the distance between the nurse and the patient, the nurse's eye contact, facial expression, hand motion and head nodding. Data analysis included frequencies, percentages and X²-test. The results of this study may be summerized as follows : 1. Patient's preferences for nurse's nonverbal expressions of warmth during nursing rounds. Preferred nurse's posture was sitting(50.7%) or standing(49.3%) opposite the patient. Preferred distance between the nurse and the patient was close to the bed(93.2%), less than 1m. Preferred eye contact was directed to the patient's eyes or their affected part (41.1%). Preferred facial expression was a smile(97.3%). Preferred hand motions were light gestures(41.1%). Patients preferred head nodding which approved their own opinions(69.9%). 2. Patient's preferences for nurse's nonverval expressions of warmth during administration of oral medication. Preferred nurse's posture was standing and waiting to confirm that the medication had been taken(58.9%). Preferred distance from the patient was at arm's length, 0.5-1m(64.4%). Patients preferred direct eye contact(58.9%) and a smile(94.5%). Patients preferred that the nurse put the medicine directly the patient's hand(64.4%). Whether the nurse nodded her head or not was not considered important. 3. The relation of general characteristics and patient's preferences for nurse's nonverbal expressions of warmth during nursing rounds and administration of oral medication. During nursing rounds, the age of subjects(p=0.010) and the standard of education(p=0.026) related to the distance between the nurse and the patient. The sick hospital ward related to the eye contact(p=0.017) and facial expression(p=0.010). During administration of oral medication, the age of subjects(p=0.044) and days of hospital treatment (p=0.043) and the sick hospital ward(p=0.0004) related to the facial expression. From this study, nurses can learn what kind nonverbal expressions of warmth are preferred by patients during rounds and administration and thus will enhance nurse- patient interpersonal relationships.

Since personality lead to relatively consistent responses to one's own environment, consumers' distinct personality influences their buying behavior. In order to understand the relationship between consumer's personal characteristics and purchase behavior, the study investigated the effect of consumers' personality trait on the clothing selection criteria and preferred clothing image. Survey was utilized to collect the data and subjects were 333 high school students. Measures consisted of three main constructs: Consumer's extroversion and openness based on the Big-Five personality trait, clothing selection criteria, and preferred clothing image. The data were analyzed using PRELIS 2, LISREL 8.8, and SAS 9.2. The subjects was classified into three groups; Group 1 was a group of intermediate-level in openness and extroversion while Group 2 was a group of high-level in both personality traits. Group 3 was a group of high-level in openness but of low-level in extroversion. Clothing selection criteria were confirmed to have five constructs: other-directed, aesthetic, fashion & conformity-oriented, brand-oriented, and practical. In the buying situation, Group 1 prioritized fashion & conformity-oriented and brand-oriented criteria but regarded other-directed and aesthetic as less important than other groups did. Group 2 considered that all of the clothing selection criteria were important except practical. "The were six factors in the clothing image: elegance, simple, ethnic, masculine, active, and modem. The result showed a significant difference between groups in preferred clothing images. Group 2 liked most of the clothing images but group 3 did not. Group 3 preferred simple clothing image more than masculine or ethnic ones. Overall, the study concluded that the openness and extroversion of Big-Five personality traits could serve as a predictor of clothing selection criteria and preferred clothing image.
The purpose of this study was to find out the difference between preferred hairstyle and pursued-image of hairstyle according to demographic characteristics. The method of this study is a content analysis and survey research using a questionnaire, which consisted of items of pursued-image of hairstyle, preferred hairstyle and demographic characteristics. 450 women were selected as subjects of this study; they were randomly selected from hair salon located in Seoul, Inchon and Bundang. For the material analysis, We used the statistical program of SPSS 12.0; frequencies, factor nalysis, one-way ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range test, T Test and ${\chi}^2$ Test were carried out as the methods of analysis. The research findings were as follows. First, the results of hairstyles according to the content analysis usually resulted 5 hairstyles, such as cuts and crew cut, bobbed hair, long layered hair styles and nonelayered long hair styles. Second, under the survey regarding the difference of preferred hairstyle and pursued-image of hairstyle according to demographic characteristics. variety of hair styles due to the subjects were more willing to try a consciousness about other's suggestions and how they are portrayed. Moreover a low level of education was ralated to a attempting a variety of styles, considering their social life. Subjects with higher age, education level and salary preferred a glamorous image as well as crew cuts. Which made them look younger. However, when they were younger, they preferred long nonelayered hair styles. The purpose of this study was to investigate electromyographically the relationship between preferred chewing side and side of initial muscle pains. In this study, 20 normal healthy subjects were selected , and each subject chewed randomly chewing gum for 20 minutes to establish preferred chewing side. To induce initial muscle pains, biting force of 10Kg on the gnathodynamometer was maintained by the subjects. And the Bioelectric processor EM2(Myo-Ironies Research, Inc. U.S.A.) with the surface electrodes was used to record the EMG activity during all experimental procedures. The results were as follows; 1. A majority of the present subjects (60%) had a preferred chewing side, but with few exceptions, subjects were unable to explain why a given side was preferred; explanations were only 'comfort' and 'habit' 2. The chewing, or working side was determined largely by the mean voltage of the surface electromyogram (EMG); in comparison with EMG from the non-wlring (contralateral) side, the working (ipsilateral) side showed a higher amplitude. 3. After the effort, the right masseter muscle is the most frequent site of pains, followed by the left masseter muscle, the anterior part of the right temporalis muscle and tile anterior part of the left temporalis muscle. 4. After the effort, mean voltages of masseter muscles were slightly increased, but mean voltages of temporalis anterior were slightly decreased at physiologic rest position. 5. No relationships could be established between preferred chewing side and side of initial muscle pains.
The aim of this study is to find preferred climate condition for outdoor water activity and to estimate future change of preferred season for the activity following the climate change. We chose urban public swimming pools, Hangang park swimming pools, which do not have any attractions except pools and allow people to make decision to visit pools in the morning solely based on the weather conditions as study sites. We identified the preferred climate conditions by analyzing the relationship between number of visitors and temperature, wind chill temperature and discomfort indexes. According to the result, the preferred temperature range was from $23.51^{\circ}C$ to $37.56^{\circ}C$, the wind chill temperature range was from $25.90^{\circ}C$ to $39.43^{\circ}C$, the discomfort index range was from 71.61 to 88.98 and the precipitation range was below 22.8 mm per day. When the temperature range is applied as the preferred season, in present, the length of the season is 127 days, from end of May to end of September. However, if temperature increase resulting from lower emission scenario (RCP 6.0), the season would be extended to 162 days, from early May to middle of October. If temperature is increasing under high emission scenario (RCP 8.5), the length of the season would be extended to 173 days from early May to end of October. In addition, the period of between end of July and early August, which is currently the most preferred season, would not be favored anymore due to high temperature. The result of this study further suggests the necessity of climate change adaptation activities.
Purposes: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between five viscera, environmental and seasonal changes, and their preference for five colors. Methods: The survey performed using the Chinese medicine constitution and the five cardinal colors (Red, Blue, Yellow, White, Black) paper. Results: The blood types distributions were A, O, B, AB, and others in order. The proportion of smokers(75.6%) and non-drinkers(25.6%). Their color preferences were highest in blue and the lowest in black, but not significant. The proportion of the viscera was stomach(45.3%), liver-lung, intestine, and heart, and the tastes were spicy(48.8%), sweet, sour, salty, and bitter in order. Blue was the highest in all. kidneys(8.3%) preferred red and bitter yellow. The change in mind(35.7%) was highest, followed by scary thoughts and their color preferences varied. The most preferred place was 'cold place,' and 'dry place' was low. The most preferred seasons were 'autumn (38.6%), and the lowest was rainy. And their colors preference were blue. The respondents(89.9%) were normal, 5.7% hypertension and 4.4% hypotension. Healthy people preferred blue (91.8%) and hypertensives yellow with not significant. The diabetics preferred blue and red(p<.04). Conclusions: In the questionnaire survey on the health and physical abnormalities of Seoul citizens, various distributions found in each category, and most of them preferred blue. The results indicated that the questionnaire and the five- colored preference were a little interrelated. However, the results are to be primary data for research in this field.
