  • In this study, the pre-amplifiers were manufac-tured, which correspinds with the properties of signal source, For measuring the EMG, EEG, ECG and EOG's signal, which are generated at human body, the pre-amplifiers were manufactured in this studywhich was corresponding with the propertiies of dach signal source. So as to do, the bandwidth of filters and the amplitude of amplifiers were adaptively adjusted, according to signal source. Then, the usefulness was represented by showing the measured examples.

  • A high performance EEG signal measurement system is fabricated. It consists of high precision pre-amplifier and auto identification bandwidth unit. High precision pre-amplifier is composed of signal generator, signal amplifier with a impedance converter, body driver and isolation amplifier. The pre-amplifier is designed for low noise characteristics, high CMRR, high input impedance, high IMRR and safety, Auto identification bandwidth unit is composed of AD-converter and PIC micro-controller for real time processing EEG signal. The performance of EEG signal measurement system has been shown the classified bandwidth through the clinical demonstrations.

위성 탑재 영상레이다 첩 신호의 전치왜곡 보상을 위한 포락선 샘플링 및 보간 필터 기반의 설계 기법 (A Design Method for Pre-Distortion Compensation of SAR Chirp Signal based on Envelop Sampling and Interpolation Filter)

  • The synthetic aperture radar(SAR) is an equipment that can acquire images in all weathers day and night based on radar signals. The on-board processor of satellite SAR generates transmission signal by digital signal processing, converts it into an analog signal and transmits to antenna. Until the transmission signal generated by on-board processor is output, the signal passes the transmission cables and analog devices. At this time, these hardware distort the signal and makes SAR performance worse. To improve the performance, pre-distortion technique is used. But, general pre-distortion using taylor series is not sufficient to compensate for the distortion. This paper suggests transmit signal design method with improved pre-distortion. This paper uses envelop sampling method and interpolation filter for frequency domain compensation. The proposed method accurately compensates the hardware distortion and reduces resource usage of FPGA. To analyze proposed method's performance, IRF characteristics are compared when the proposed method applies to signal with errors.

음성 신호의 다구간 에너지 차를 이용한 새로운 프리엠퍼시스 방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on a New Pre-emphasis Method Using the Short-Term Energy Difference of Speech Signal)

  • The pre-emphasis is an essential process for speech signal processing. Widely used two methods are the typical method using a fixed value near unity and te optimal method using the autocorrelation ratio of the signal. This study proposes a new pre-emphasis method using the short-term energy difference of speech signal, which can effectively compensate the glottal source characteristics and lip radiation characteristics. Using the proposed pre-emphasis, speech analysis, such as spectrum estimation, formant detection, is performed and the results are compared with those of the conventional two pre-emphasis methods. The speech analysis with 5 single vowels showed that the proposed method enhanced the spectral shapes and gave nearly constant formant frequencies and could escape the overlapping of adjacent two formants. comparison with FFT spectra had verified the above results and showed the accuracy of the proposed method. The computational complexity of the proposed method reduced to about 50% of the optimal method.

뇌파신호 측정을 위한 고정밀 전치 증폭기의 설계 (The Design of High Precision Pre-amplifier for EEG Signal Measurement)

  • A high-precision pre-amplifier is designed for general use in EEG measurement system. It consists of signal generator, signal amplifier with a impedance converter, shield driver, body driver, differential amplifier, and isolation amplifier. The combination of minimum use of inaccurate passive components and the appropriate matching of each monolithic amplifiers results in good noise behavior, low leakage current, high CMRR, high input impedance, and high IMRR. The performance of EEG pre-amplifier has been verified by showing the typical EEG pattevn of a nomad person through the clinical experiments.

C-G Method를 활용한 신호등 위치에 따른 교통사고 효과 분석 (Estimation of Accident Effectiveness Based Upon the Location of Traffic Signal Using C-G Method)

  • 2006년 9월 국무조정실이 수립한 교통사고 잦은 곳 개선 종합대책에 의하면 전방신호기 설치가 교차로 교통사고에 괄목할만한 효과라고 판단하여, 교통사고 잦은 곳 개선사업에 우선적으로 전방신호등을 설치를 권장하고 있다. 하지만 전방 신호등의 효과에 대한 검증 없이 국무조정실이 수립한 종합대책을 토대로 전방신호등 개선사업을 시행한다면 오히려 교통안전측면에서 더 큰 시행착오를 범할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 전방신호등의 설치가 과연 얼마만큼의 효과가 있는지, 또한 전방신호기의 설치에 따른 교통사고 유형의 변화 및 전방신호기의 설치가 적합한 교차로 유형에 대한 분석결과를 제시하고자한다. 이를 위해 Hauer가 개발한 비교그룹방법(Comparison-Group, C.G Method)을 활용하여 분석한 결과, 전방신호등 설치로 인한 전체 교통사고 감소효과에는 긍정적인 결과로 나타났으나 교차로의 규모별, 교통사고 유형별 효과분석에서는 각기 상이한 결과를 나타내기도 하였다. 소규모 교차로에서는 교통사고 유형별로 모두 전방신호등 설치로 인한 감소효과가 나타났지만, 대규모 교차로의 경우 정면충돌 및 측면직각 교통사고 유형에서는 오히려 전방신호등 설치로 인하여 교통사고가 증가하여 교통안전측면에서는 부정적인 결과를 초래하였다. 따라서 대규모 교차로에 전방신호기를 설치 할 경우에는 교통운영 및 교통시설, Human Factor 등 다각적인 측면에 대한 개선안을 신중하게 고려하여 시행 할 것을 권장하는 바이다.

High Level Expression of a Protein Precursor for Functional Studies

  • In vitro analyses of type I signal peptidase activities require protein precursors as substrates. Usually, these pre-proteins are expressed in vitro and cleavage of the signal sequence is followed by SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis coupled with autoradiography. Radioactive amino acids have to be incorporated in the expressed protein, since the amount of the in vitro expressed protein is usually very low and processing of the signal peptide cannot be followed by SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis alone. Here we describe a rapid and simple method to express large amounts of a protein precursor in E. coli. We have analyzed the effect of ionophors as well as of azide on the accumulation of expressed protein precursors. Azide blocks the function of SecA and the ionophors dissipate the electrochemical gradient across the cytoplasmic membrane of E. coli. Addition of azide ions resulted in the formation of inclusion bodies, highly enriched with pre-apo-plastocyanine. Plastocyanine is a soluble copper protein, which can be found in the periplasmic space of cyanobacteria as well as in the thylakoid lumen of cyanobacteria and chloroplasts, and the pre-protein contains a cleavable signal sequence at its N-terminus. After purification of cyanobacterial pre-apo-plastocyanine, its signal sequence can be cleaved off by the E. coli signal peptidase, and protein processing was followed on Coomassie stained SDS polyacrylamide gels. We are optimistic that the presented method can be further developed and applied.

  • 본 논문에서는 포터블 뇌파 바이오피드백시스템을 위한 전치증폭부 및 디지털 신호처리부의 하드웨어 구현에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 뇌파의 특성을 고려하여 외부 잡음을 제거할 수 있는 뇌파 획득용 전치증폭부를 구현하였다. 측정된 뇌파에는 안전도, 근전도, 심전도 등의 신호들이 포함되어 있으며 이들은 뇌파 분석에 방해가 된다. 따라서 이러한 신호들을 제거하기 위하여 적응여파기 알고리즘을 수행하고 전치증폭부를 실시간으로 구동하는 디지털신호처리부를 구현하였다. 시뮬레이션 파형과 실제 뇌파를 적용한 실험결과를 통하여 개발된 시스템의 성능을 확인 할 수 있었으며 휴대형 뇌파바이오피드백 시스템에 적용 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • The high power amplifier (HPA) for broadcasting transmitter systems has nonlinear property in terms of input signal power. Hence, it produces AM/AM and AM/PM modulation to the modulated signal. Therefore, the non-linearity results in bandwidth expansion and nonlinear distortion to in-band signal. In this paper, we propose a simple sain-based predistorter that requires less computational burden and less time for the full initialization of the pre-distorter ROM table.

최적화 기반 인간 팔꿈치 관절각 실시간 추출 방법 (Optimization-based Real-time Human Elbow Joint Angle Extraction Method)

  • An optimization-based real-time joint angle extraction method of human elbow is proposed by processing the biomedical signal of surface EMG (electromyogram) measured at the center point of biceps brachii. The EMG signal is known as non-stationary (time-varying) signal, but we assume that it is quasi-stationary because a physical or physiological system has limitations in the rate at which it can change its characteristics. Based on the assumption, a pre-processing method to obtain pre-angle values from raw EMG signal is firstly suggested, and then an optimization method to minimize the error between the pre-angle and real joint angle is proposed in this paper. Finally, we suggest the experimental results showing the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
