  • In most of large panel pre-cast concrete system, the narrow joints have inefficiency to assemble several panels and structural problems due to their complicated process after construction. To improve, practically, structural performance and inefficiency to assemble, the behavior and strength of new wide joints method should be investigated experimentally. The result is that the shear force of wide joints is similar to that of loop joints, or more than. It seems that the use of wide joints is the possible methods in a construction field.

  • When reinforcing an existing building with the Concrete Filled Tube(CFT) structure, it is impossible to form a diaphragm inside with the existing method. Therefore, in this study, a construction method was proposed so that the internal diaphragm could be welded on four sides by using a slot to transmit force.

Liquid Crystal Droplet Patterns to Monitor Catalase Activity at Femtomolar Levels

  • Catalase (CAT) decomposes hydrogen peroxide that is toxic to the body. In this study, simple and sensitive detector has been developed for observing catalase activity using liquid crystal droplet system. Microscale LC droplet patterns are formed by spreading aldehyde-doped nematic liquid crystal on pre-treated glass slides. When hydrogen peroxide is added, aldehyde is oxidized and amphiphiles are formed. Dodecanoates cause the pattern to transit from bright to dark as they self-assemble to form a carboxyalte monolayer at the interface. When a drop of pre-incubated CAT and hydrogen peroxide mixture is placed onto the pattern, bright fan-shape is observed. This planar optical appearance indicates that catalase has decomposed hydrogen peroxide. Compared to the detectors that have been previously developed, this system is more sensitive with detection limit of 1fM. This research suggests further studies to be on LC droplet patterning to develop highly sensitive and methodologically simple sensors for various chemicals.

Application of Sensor Technology for the Efficient Positioningand Assembling of Ship Blocks

  • This paper proposes the application of sensor technology to assemble ship blocks efficiently. A sensor-based monitoring system is designed and implemented to improve shipbuilding productivity by reducing the labor cost for the adjustment of adequate positioning between ship blocks during pre-erection or erection stage. For the real-time remote monitoring of relative distances between two ship blocks, sensor nodes are applied to measure the distances between corresponding target points on the blocks. Highly precise positioning data can be transferred to a monitoring server via wireless network, and analyzed to support the decision making which needs to determine the next construction process; further adjustment or seam welding between the ship blocks. The developed system is expected to put to practical use, and increase the productivity during ship blocks assembly.

강화학습의 신속한 학습을 위한 변이형 오토인코더 기반의 조립 특징 추출 네트워크 (Variational Autoencoder-based Assembly Feature Extraction Network for Rapid Learning of Reinforcement Learning)

  • Since robotic assembly in an unstructured environment is very difficult with existing control methods, studies using artificial intelligence such as reinforcement learning have been conducted. However, since long-time operation of a robot for learning in the real environment adversely affects the robot, so a method to shorten the learning time is needed. To this end, a method based on a pre-trained neural network was proposed in this study. This method showed a learning speed about 3 times than the existing methods, and the stability of reward during learning was also increased. Furthermore, it can generate a more optimal policy than not using a pre-trained neural network. Using the proposed reinforcement learning-based assembly trajectory generator, 100 attempts were made to assemble the power connector within a random error of 4.53 mm in width and 3.13 mm in length, resulting in 100 successes.

  • TF magnet structures are the main structural components in the KSTAR magnet systems to protect the superconducting coils from mechanical, electrical, and thermal loads. TF coil structure supports CS and PF coil system. The inter-coil structure contains adjustable shear keys and conical bolts to provide pre-loading in toroidal direction and to resist against in-plane and out-of-plane forces that are the most critical loads on the TF magnet system. The conical bolts and shear keys are specially designed to assemble easily and to provide a convenient accommodation for a good alignment. The connection plate that is one of the prototype fabrications had been manufactured to study adjustability of conical bolts and shear keys for assembly of TF coil structure. We could measure the misalignments at the keyways and conical holes with the misalignment measuring instrument.

4족과 6족 보행을 하는 수면 주행 로봇의 안정성 실험 연구 (Experimental Study on Rolling Stability of Quadruped and Hexapedal Water Running Robots)

  • Water running animals such as basilisk lizards have an advantage of high-speed movement and high power efficiency on water; so researchers in robotic fields have been interested in the water running locomotion. This paper presents prototype-design and experimental study on the fourand six-legged water running robot. Based on the previously proposed quadruped water running robot, we assemble a hexapedal water running robot. The legs of the water running robot are designed based on four-bar parallel link for repeated motion along to pre-defined path. Stability performance of the quadruped and hexapedal water running robot are investigated by experiments on rolling criterion. As a result, hexapedal robot performs better stability than quadruped robot. Based on the hexapedal robot design, we are planning to optimize the position of legs and operating frequency.

  • Vapor phase polymerization of a conductive polymer on a $SiO_2$ surface can offer an easy and convenient means to depositing pure and conductive polymer thin films. However, the vapor phase deposition is generally associated with very poor adhesion as well as difficulty when patterning the polymer thin film onto an oxide dielectric substrate. For a significant improvement of the patternability and adhesion of Poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) thin film to a $SiO_2$ surface, the substrate was pre-patterned with n-octadecyltrichlorosilane (OTS) molecules using a ${\mu}$-contact printing method. The negative patterns were then backfilled with each of three amino-functionalized silane self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of (3-aminopropyl) trimethoxysilane (APS), N-(2-aminoethyl)-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (EDA), and (3- trimethoxysilylpropyl)diethylenetriamine (DET). The quality and electrical properties of the patterned P3HT thin films were investigated with optical and atomic force microscopy and a four-point probe. The results exhibited excellent selective deposition and significantly improved adhesion of P3HT films to a $SiO_2$ surface. In addition, the conductivity of polymeric thin films was relatively high (${\sim}13.51\;S/cm$).

누리과정에 적용할 교육로봇의 가상환경 3D AR 연구 (Study on 3D AR of Education Robot for NURI Process)

  • 교육부가 중점 추진하는 누리과정은 교육과 보육에 대한 국가차원의 표준화된 교육과정으로서 취학전 교육의 질을 제고하고, 생애 초기의 공정한 출발선을 보장하며 전 영역에서 창의 인성 교육을 강조하고 있다. 영유아기 누리과정의 창의교육을 위한 곤충로봇을 개발하여 흥미와 교육효과를 높였다. 기존의 지면을 사용한 조립도와 온라인 홈페이지를 이용한 교육용 로봇의 조립과 학습에 VR을 이용하여 조립과 교육내용학습에 효과를 높였다. 유아들이 로봇을 학습하기 위해서는 적극적인 관심과 학습의 동기가 필요하며 정보기반사회에서의 정보기술을 활용한 창의적인 학습 또한 필요하다. 증강현실에서 사용될 마커는 로봇에 관한 3차원의 모델정보를 연계하여 증강하고, 이는 마커를 통하여 증강현실의 대상 마커와 카메라와의 상대 좌표계 변환을 구하고, 그 마커내의 패턴을 이용하여 미리 정의된 패턴 중 무엇인지에 대한 결정을 할 수 있도록 한다. 본 논문을 통하여 교육용 조립로봇의 현실세계에서의 창의교육과 증강 가상환경으로 표현되는 스마트교육을 융합하여 새로운 형태의 첨단 스마트교육을 제시하여 국가인재의 조기육성을 통한 인재대국의 기초를 마련하고자 한다.

탄소나노튜브 전자 필름을 이용한 고감도-고선택성 전기화학 글루코스 센서 (Sensitive and Selective Electrochemical Glucose Biosensor Based on a Carbon Nanotube Electronic Film)

  • 본 연구에서는 비파괴적 표면 기능기화 통하여 단일벽 탄소나노튜브(SWCNT) 탄소소재의 특성 변화를 최소화 시킬 수 있는 대면적화 공법을 제안하고, 대면적화 된 SWNT 전자 필름 상에 효소를 집적하여 효소와 SWCNT 전자 필름 간 효율적 전자 전달을 연구하였다. p-terphenyl-4,4"-dithiol, dithiothreitol와 SWCNT의 혼합을 통해 SWCNT 전자 필름의 균일도 및 전하 전달 능력을 향상시키고, 분광학적 분석 및 전기화학적 특성을 평가하여 SWCNT 전자 필름의 향상된 전기화학적 특성을 확인하였다. 전자 필름 상에 고분자 전해질 및 포도당 산화환원 효소를 layer-by-layer 기법으로 효율적으로 집적하여, 최종적으로 음전압 범위에서 구동이 가능한 포도당(glucose) 바이오센서를 구현하였다. 개발된 포도당 바이오센서는 효소와 SWCNT 전자 필름과의 높은 전하 전달 효율을 바탕으로 -0.45 vs. Ag/AgCl 음전압 범위에서 높은 산화환원 신호를 보였을 뿐 아니라 0~1 mM의 낮은 글루코스 농도 변화에서 약 98 ㎂/mM·cm2의 높은 감도를 보였다. 또한 음전압 구동을 통하여, 산화 반응을 일으킬 수 있는 4종의 방해물질(요산, 아스코르빅산, 도파민, 아세타아미노펜) 환경에서 4% 이하의 변화를 보여 높은 선택성을 보였다.
