  • Cost, schedule, and quality are the three major performance indicators for any construction project. Under the globalized competition in the nuclear industry, researchers and practitioners have also explored a systemized and integrated management system for cost, schedule, and quality. In order to address this issue, the concept of earned value management system (EVMS) has been often utilized. However, implementing EVMS for a mega-project of nuclear power plant (NPP) construction requires extensive overhead efforts. Though previous studies proposed structures and methods for effective NPP EVMS, there has been no legitimate study for data collection strategy for practical implementation. In this context, the purpose of this paper is to develop an effective data collection strategy for NPP EVMS. Firstly, the barriers to practical NPP EVMS were identified based on literature review and expert interviews. Strategies for data collection were then developed based on different phases of project life cycle. This study focuses on the 'life-cycle integrated progress management system' for NPP construction from an owner's perspective Therefore, results of this study can be used as a guide for preparing request for proposals (RFP) of an NPP owner organization.

  • Four quadrotor UAVs are maneuvered to guide four animals into their pen within the minimum time by creating noises of predators modeled with an exponential function. The quadrotor UAVs are controlled via PID controllers, follow time optimal trajectories, and avoid collisions through altitude separations. The stability of the proposed PID controller is analyzed and verified using MATLAB/Simulink based simulations. Proposed step by step strategies would be practical solutions of actual cattle roundup problems.

  • Theoretical foundations of the knowledge management(KM) have been perceived still developing in the field. And, the literature shows many key success factors for KM, but, in more conceptual and abstract term. Companies interested in knowlege management demand for practical guidelines. Based on the constituent elements of KM, this study classifies key success factors identified from thirty three success cases, domestic and in other countries. Further, fifteen propositions are suggested and discussed for future research and project management in KM.

  • In practical control area, there are many examples with multiple objectives which may conflict or compete with each other like overhead crane control, automatic train operation, and refuse incinerator plant control, etc. These kinds of control problems are called multiobjective control problems, where it is difficult to provide the desired performance with control strategies based on single-objective optimization. Because the conventional control theories usually treat the control problem as the single objective optimization problem , the methods are not adequate to treat the multiobjective control problems. Particularly, in case of large scale systems or ill-defined systems, the multiple obj..

  • In general, the applications of health education in Thailand have developed from efforts to solve the health problems of rural people, who have been under- served by the health services delivery system of the government. The concept of community oriented health education is a basic one and it provides the key to success of the health care program. Community self-reliance is another concept which the program seeks to foster in its many development strategies.(omitted)

  • This research was conducted as a part of a research project entitled 'A Fact-finding Survey and Improvement Method for Practical Engineer'. The aim of this research is to explore the educational development strategy for KUT, which is the Korea's leading university of practical engineering, by setting the relevant educational goal for training practical engineer and evaluating the core competencies of practical engineer as well as professors. The research is categorized as follow: the direction to be differentiated from other universities, the core competencies of practical engineer, the core curriculum for the training of practical engineer, professors's competencies for training of practical engineer, developing strategy for establishing the identity of KUT. Delphi technique was applied for survey and selected 32 panels including directors of Korean Institute for Practical Engineering Education, KUT professors and outside experts were involved in that survey. Delphi survey was conducted for three times. In the first survey, suggestions on five categories from an open questionnaire were summarized into 73 questions. 2nd and 3rd questionnaires were developed using the summarized questions, distributed and collected by email, thereafter, the suitability and necessity of each item were rated in five-point Likert scale, calculated and analyzed the results.

  • This study tries to feel out the possibility of experimental areas of architecture which is becoming urbanization gradually through practical issues of landscape urbanism. According to this study, it is affirmed that the practical issues of landscape urbanism such as process in time, Potential territoriality of surface, practical methodology and socio-cultural imagination already have rome into the architectural area over urbanism. This is presented as characteristics of detail issues through relational density on the matrix of landscape urbanism, traces of the general landscape concepts and architectural landscapeconcepts. As a result, these practical issues and detail architectural strategies constitute the important spatial characteristics of contemporary architecture.

  • The purposes of this study were to analyze instructional strategies of science teachers, science teachers' orientations toward science teaching by the reason which instructional strategies was used in middle school science classes, and the relations among PCK elements for suggesting a direction of improvement of PKC models. For this purpose, we selected three of middle school teachers as participants who had various teaching experience periods. Semi-structured interviews and classroom observations were gathered for data. From the data collected, we analyzed the type of instructional strategies of science teachers. On the base of these, we identified characteristics of the teachers' orientations toward teaching science. From the reason that instructional strategies was used, we could ascertain that knowledge of science curriculum and knowledge of students' learning which was component of PCK crucially affected instructional strategies of science teachers. Therefore we assured that analysis of practical instructional strategies of science teachers that showed through science instruction was the most effective method that could find out science teacher's orientation of teaching science internalized, and that knowledge of science curriculum and knowledge of students' learning was the basic component of PCK that formed instructional strategies of science teachers. On the basis of the result, a necessity for improvement of PCK models was presented.

  • In the context of the convergence revolution that brings together culture, technology, and humanities, the fashion industry is aiming to form product strategies to create added value. The ultimate aim of these strategies is to satisfy consumers' diverse needs. Boosted by discussions on sustainability in the fashion industry, sustainability management activities are also emerging as a trend in product strategy. Therefore, it is important to consider both convergence and sustainability management activities together as drivers of fashion brands' product strategies. The main objectives of this study are as follows: (1) to examine the differences in sustainability evaluation by product strategy, (2) to determine how sustainability evaluation affects brand attitude and purchase intention, and (3) to identify how this effect varies according to the types of convergence and sustainability management activities. The main findings of this research are as follows. First, sustainability evaluation varies according to fashion brands' product strategy. Second, evaluation has a positive effect on brand attitude and purchase intention. Third, the effect varies according to the types of convergence and sustainability management activities. This study is an extension of previous research for combining fashion brands' convergence and sustainability management activities as a part of their product strategy, which, in turn, contributes to positive consumer responses on the marketing level. Moreover, results provide practical implications for fashion brands that enable them to establish efficient marketing strategies regarding to convergence and sustainability management activities.

  • Recently, the electronic commerce(EC), driven by the development of Internet, has been one of the most important interests. Physical distribution in EC is one of the most important factors. Logistics will be one of the most important industries in the 21st century. Logistics, especially in related to EC presents enormous potential opportunities for logistics Companies. However, logistics companies in Korea still don't have international competitive and effective strategies for customer in compare with leading international logistics companies. So it is needed to study development strategies of logistics companies in Korea against leading international logistics companies. Logistics companies in Korea is able to learn from practical experience of logistics companies in developed country by benchmarking studies. It is three development strategies in order to develop Logistics Companies in Korea. $\circled1$ development of sophisticated logistics service product $\circled2$ reinforcement and enlargement of diverse added service $\circled3$ construction of international logistics network
