경화제에 따른 열경화성 분체도료의 물성 비교 (Property of Carboxylic Polyester Powder Coatings with Different Hardeners)

  • It was researched to be alternative of TGIC type hardener with human hazard element as PT 910 mix powder paint with hardener. Generally PT 910 was compared with TGIC & Epoxy resin of hardener to be used at thermosetting powder paint. We inquired a property of matter for paint through Gel time, glass transition temperature, melting point and a property of matter for film through a property of adhesion, a property of tolerance, softness, gloss, acid-resistant, alkali-resistant, salt water spray-resistant, facilitation climatic. When PT 910 is used of hardener, it was shown the excellent results in gel time, softness, salt water spray-resistant, fracilitation climatic and the similar results in melting point, a property of tolerance, a property of adhesion, gloss, acid-resistant, alkali-resistant, as compared with the powder paint used by TGIC hardener. The glass transition temperature was little low. But there was slightly different results. After the study results, we reached the conclusion that thermosetting powder used by PT 910 is alterative to by TGIC hardener.

백자채색봉황모란문병 보존처리와 금채장식 기법 연구 (Research on Technique of Gold Powder Painting and Conservation Process for White Porcelain Bottle with Phoenix and Peony Design Poly Chrome)

  • 본 고에서는 백자채색봉황모란문병의 전반적 보존처리 과정과 일부 결손된 채색부분인 금채장식 복원에 적합한 복원 재료와 보존방법을 다양한 실험을 통해 소개하고자 한다. 결손되거나 박락된 금채장식을 복원할 수 있는 방법으로는 전통적인 방법과 현대적인 방법이 있는데, 이번 연구실험을 통해 가장 적합한 복원방법을 알아낼 수 있었다. 또한 이번 금채장식 복원과정에서는 전통적인 금채장식방법 대신에 아크릴물감과 바인더를 섞어 문양 테두리의 금채부분을 복원한 현대적인 금채 채색방법을 선택하여 복원하였다.

페인트 제조 작업자의 6가 크롬 및 실리카 노출평가와 호흡보호구 밀착도 검사 사례 (Case study of Hexavalent Chromium and Silica Exposure Assessment and Respiratory Fit-test for Paint Manufacturing Worker)

  • Objective: Paint manufacturing industry workers are exposed to various lung cancer carcinogenic substances including hexavalent chromium and crystalline silica. Studies have been conducted on lung cancer in Paint manufacturing industry workers and the concentration of hexavalent chromium in paint industry; however, the concentration of crystalline silica and hexavalent chromium and cases of lung cancer in a single Paint factory has never been reported in Korea. Methods: To determine whether the cancer was related to his work environment, we assessed the level of exposure to carcinogens during pouring and mixing talc and pigment. In addition, a mask fit test was performed for the worker. Results: Analysis of talc and silica bulk powder materials showed that crystalline silica (quartz) was 5% in talc and 100% in silica. The green and yellow pigments contained 87% and 92% of lead chromate, respectively. Our quantitative analysis of pigment powder samples showed that the hexavalent chromium contents quantified in the green and yellow pigment samples were 87% and 92%, respectively. In order to estimate his exposure level of hexavalent chromium, we measured a personal exposure level of hexavalent chromium for a worker in accordance with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health #7605 method. The results showed that the worker was exposed to the high level of hexavalent chromium (0.033 mg m-3). In addition, the talc powder also contained 5% quartz, and the worker's exposure level to respirable quartz exceeded OEL. As a result of the respiratory protection fit test for workers, the overall Fit Factor was '15' when wearing a second-grade mask and '25' when wearing a first-grade mask, significantly lower than the US Occupational Safety and Health Agency (OSHA) pass value of "100". Conclusion: Workers who pouring and mixing powder materials such as talc or colored pigments in paint manufacturing company may be exposed to high concentrations of carcinogenic substances. These findings indicate that it is necessary to local ventilation system inspection, safety and health education for employers and workers, and periodically monitoring and manage the working environment.

환경친화형 에폭시계 분체도료의 조성구축 연구 (Study on the Compositional Construction of Epoxy Based Powder Paint)

  • 본 실험은 에폭시계 분체도료의 물성에 영향을 미치는 에폭시 수지, 경화제, 충전제 및 안료 의 최적 조성 결정에 대한 연구이다. 본 연구에서 사용된 에폭시계 수지의 경화 시스템은 Diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A (DGEBA)와 경화제로 dicyan diamide (DICY)를 사용하였다. 코팅 재료의 경화거동과 유변물성은 DSC와 레오메터를 사용하여 조사되었다. 또한 코팅재료의 스틸에 대한 접착력은 lap shear 실험을 이용하여 조사되었다. 연구 결과에 따르면 에폭시계 분체도료의 최적 조성은 에폭시계 수지 기준으로 DICY 6 phr, $CaCO_3$ 20 phr 및 $TiO_2$ 10 phr 이었다.

친환경 무기질 도료의 제조 및 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Properties and Fabrications of Eco-Ceramics Paint)

  • Sick house syndrome comes from VOCs that is harmful to health. To reduce VOCs, the cause of sick house syndrome, several materials have been developed and use. One of this materials, VOCs absorption paint was developed. VOCs absorption paint contains ceramic binder and zeolite powder. In the present study, eco-ceramics paint has been successfully fabricated by high-speed mixer using ceramic binder and filler powders. The eco-ceramics paint thus obtained have a deodorization rate with about 95.7$ \%$ and the bacteria decreasing rate is about 99.6$\%$. Moreover, the eco-ceramics paint showed excellent VOCs interception properties due to effect of ceramics layer and zeolite which exist in surface of paint.

도전성(導電性) 분체(粉體)의 전자차폐(電磁遮蔽)에 관한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Electromagnetic Shielding of Conductive Powder)

  • In this paper, shielding effectiveness(SE) of the shielding paint of electromagnetic(EM) waves was investigated with actual experiments. The shielding paint used in this study were made of powder of conductive materials - Ag, Cu, Al, Sn, Ni. Cr, Graphite and Charcoal etc. with a solubility in oil and water. Also, the paper was used as a base sheet. The experiment was carried out by using a shielding evaluator(Shielding box) TR17302 with an ADVANTEST spectrum analyzer, model R3361C. It was found from the experimental results that silver, copper, nickel were good candidates as a shielding material against the EM waves with increasing the SE as the composite was laminated. The characteristics of the SE against the EM waves depended on a mode of preparation of specimen. The effects of density of particles on the SE were studied about the EM shielding paint. The SE strongly depended on the electric resistance by density of painting particles. SE increased as the density of particles was increasing.

도재소부전장금관용 Opaque 분말과 도재전장관용 core 분말의 물리화학적 성질 및 금속과의 결합력에 대한 비교연구 (A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE PHYSICOCHEMICAL PROPER TIES AND BOND STRENGTH TO METAL BETWEEN THE REGULAR OPAQUE POWDER AND CORE POWDER)

  • The purpose of this study were to investigate the chemical composition, mean particle size, linear thermal expansion coefficient and metal-bonding strength of the regular opaque powder and core powder. In this study, 4 types of ceramic powders, namely Duceram Jacket Opaque powder, Duceram Opaque powder, Vita Hi-Ceram powder, Vita VMK Paint On-88 powder were used. Chemical composition was evaluated by EDS(Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrophotometer, Oxford QX-2000, England), particle size was measured by MALVERN Instruments(MALVERN Instruments SB. OC., U.S.A.. ad linear thermal expansion coefficient was measured by dilatometer(Motoyama, Japan). Bond strength was measured by the Universal tsting machine(Istron Co., Ltd., U.S.A.). The Results were as follows : 1. Through recognition of the relative difference in chemical composition between the core powder and the regular opaque powder, the difference in the proportion of $Al_2O_3$ in each type of material is demonstrated ; Duceram Jaket Opaque powder : 30.16%, Duceram Opaque powder : 16.60%, Vita Hi-Ceram : 63.64%, Vita VMK Paint-On 88 : 16.16%. 2. There was no significant difference in the proportion of metal-bonding materials between the core powder and the regular opaque powder. 3. In the regular opaque powder, alkaline materials were incoporated in order to increase the coefficient of thermal expansion. 4. In the particle size analysis, there was no significant difference in mean particle size or in the particle size distribution between the core powder and the regular opaque powder. 5. In the thermal expansion test for temperature range of $25-600^{\circ}C$, the regular opaque powder had higher coefficient of thermal expansion than that of core powder. 6. In the 4 point flexural bending test, there was no statistically significant difference in the mean bond strength between the core powder and the opaque powder among the Duceram products.

Effect of Pre-immersion Time on Electrophoretic Deposition of Paint on AZ31 Magnesium Alloy

  • The importance of magnesium alloys has significantly increased due to their low density, high strength/weight ratio, very good electromagnetic shielding features and good recyclability. However, unfortunately, Mg alloys are very susceptible to corrosion due to their high chemically activities (= -2.356 V vs. NHE at $25^{\circ}C$), hence, most commercial Mg alloys require corrosion protective coatings. Organic coating such as painting, powder coating and electrophoretic deposition of paint (E-paint) is typically used in the final stages of the coating process of Mg alloys. In this study, effect of pre-immersion time on the deposition of E-paint on AZ31 Mg alloy was investigated. It was found that during pre-immersion time, AZ31 Mg alloy rapidly reacts with E-paint solution and paint can be self-deposited on the AZ31 surface without applying of electric current. The pore size on the E-painted AZ31 Mg alloy increased with increasing pre-immersion time from 0 to 5 min. Both adhesion and corrosion resistance of E-painted AZ31 Mg alloy decreased with increasing pre-immersion time. The best E-paint AZ31 Mg alloy, which showed stronger adhesion after water immersion test and good corrosion resistance, was started to deposit after 5 s of pre-immersion time.

압전 페인트 센서를 활용한 충격 모니터링 활용 방안 (A Study on Impact Monitoring Using a Piezoelectric Paint Sensor)

  • 압전 페인트 센서는 압전 세라믹의 주성분인 압전 파우더와 에폭시의 결합으로 이루어진 페인트형 센서이다. 이 센서는 일반 페인트와 같이 구조물에 도포되기 때문에 다른 어느 센서보다 구조물에 부착이 용이하다. 본 연구에서는 압전 페인트센서가 도포된 구조물의 충격 감지 정도를 판단하고자 하였다. 특히, 철도차량을 대상으로 연구를 진행하고자 하였다. 철도차량 운용 중에 발생하는 자갈 비산으로 인해 발생하는 충격손상이 많이 보고되고 있고, 이러한 충격손상을 방지하고자 차량 하부구조물 전체 표면에 발생하는 충격신호를 실시간으로 감지할 필요가 있다. 철도차량이 운행되는 환경을 고려하여 압전 페인트시편을 $-20{\sim}60^{\circ}C$의 열사이클 환경에 노출시켜 센서의 감도 변화를 측정하였다. 알루미늄 시편에 압전 페인트센서를 도포하여 감도 측정을 수행한 결과, 열사이클 환경 전후에 감도 차이가 크지 않음을 확인하였고 이를 통해 환경 노출 후에도 압전 페인트센서로 충격 감지가 가능함을 확인하였다.

안료용 알루미늄 플레이크 분말 제조 (Fabrication of Al Flake Powder for Pigment)

  • The study for producing the flake powders by milling of aluminum foil and gas atomized powders was carried out. The effects of lifter bars on the ball motions and milling of aluminum foils were also investigated. The aluminum foils were laminated each other, elongated, fragmented into small foils and finally formed into the flake powders during the dry ball-milling. The spherical atomized-powders were milled to coarse flake powders with high aspect ratio and then changed to fine flake powders with lower aspect ratio. Even though long times were required for making flake powders by milling of foils, the water covering areas of them were higher than those of powders milled using gas-atomized powders, suggesting aluminum foils were more plastically deformed by micro-forging. On the other hand, as the number of lifter bars increased, the necessary rotation speeds of milling jar for cascading mode and cataracting mode decreased drastically. It was possible to achieve same quality of milled flake powder by using the lifter bars under the lower milling speeds. The painting test showed that the appearance of painted surface was good and optimum content range of aluminum paste in car paint to maximize the degree of gloss was 3-5%.
