Objective: Deformation of soft tissues around the neck and scapularcan caused by forward head posture(FHP), which has an uncomfortable effect on biomechanical changes in the scapula as well as functional disorders of the shoulder. However, studies related to direct FHP, biomechanical changes in the scapulafunction, and shoulder pain and disorder have not yet been conducted. Therefore, purpose of this study is to effect of decresedthe FHP on the shoulder function of the sacpular biomechanical examine the change in the shoulder painand disorder. Design: A randomized controlled trial Methods: The participants were 32adults(23.03±3.90 years) recruited and redivided randomly into Forward head posture corrective exercise(FHPCE) vs Control. The FHPCE group was proceeded according to the over load principle through 2steps biofeedback exercise and corrective exercise(n=16). The control (n=16) was TENS did not operated and padding 20 minute. This study was conducted 3 times a week for 4a weeks. Results: FHPCE group is improve in the results of craneocervical angle(p<0.05, 95% CI: 0.352, 4.073). In Mechanical changes of scapula in the shoulder flexion more significant improvement in FHPCE than control group[Axis X(p<0.05), Y(p<0.01), Z(p<0.01)], and shoulder abductionmore significant improvement in FHPCE than control group[xis X(p<0.01)], as well FHPCE showed significant increased in the results in the shoulder pain(p<0.05, 95% CI: -13.244, -1.566) Conclusions: This study suggected that FHP affects the biomechanical changes of the shoulder, and a new method for shoulder pain intervention
Objectives : Acupuncture therapy is known as a effective method to CVA with paralysis. To make clear about effectiveness of acupuncture affecting to active and static postural adaptation for the patient with hemiparesis, we studied whether acupuncture changed ability of maintenance with one leg standing posture, and character of gait such as gait velocity, cadence, stride length, step length and base of support. Methods : This clinical study has been carried out with 10 cases of CVA patient with hemiparesis. We treated patients with acupuncture for 4 weeks, estimated each paralytic leg and well leg before 1st treatment and after last treatment, and compared the change of one leg with the other. To estimate the change of ability of static postural adaptation, we checked the time of duration with one leg standing posture. And about active postural adaptation, we used temporal distance gait analysis with Ink-Foot-Print method. Results and Conclusions : In static postural adaptation, paralytic leg significantly improved the duration with one leg posture. And In active postural adaptation with gait analysis, paralytic leg showed significant improvement in stride length and step length. Base of support and cadence were also significantly improved.
Purpose: Leg-crossing sitting is very common for men and woman. No solid evidence exists for either a beneficial or a detrimental effect of this posture. This study investigated the change of activities of trunk muscles between the normal group and the low back pain group during various leg-crossing positions. Methods: The subjects were consisted of 10 subjects who don't have low back pain and 10 subjects who have low back pain. In this study, we used electromyography(EMG) to evaluate the activities of both the trunk muscles (rectus abdominis, external oblique, internal oblique, and multifidus) during various leg-crossing positions (up-right, leg-crossing, tailor-crossing, and ankle-crossing). We analyzed the data by using repeated one way ANOVA. Results: In normal group, there were increased in EMG activities of trunk muscles, but no significant differences during leg-crossing positions. In back pain group, there were increased in EMG activities of right external oblique, left. internal oblique, and both multifidus muscles in leg-crossing and tailor-crossing position, but no significant differences during leg-crossing positions. There was no significant difference of muscle activity of trunk muscles between the back pain group and the normal group. Conclusion: We suggest that low back pain people who have weak muscles of rectus abdominis, external and internal oblique are often experienced in leg-crossing posture than normal. To compensate this unstability of trunk, leg-crossing posture is substituted passive structure for activities of active muscle.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate an effect of change on head posture initial occlusal contacts with measuring the distances between initial occlusal contacts and maximum intercuspal position at different head posture in TMDs patient. For this study, 24 patients from age 13 to 36 were selected, they were examined health history taken, patients who have sign and symptoms of TMDs were examine before the study. For the normal group, 21 adults from age 23 to 25 were selected. They have normal or class I molar relationship, and have no other prosthetic restorations. Difference on distance between initial occlusal contact and maximum intercuspal position with mandibular kinesiograph$(MKG^R)$(K6 diagnostic system, Myo-tronic Inc, USA) in upright, supine, 45$^{\circ}$ extension, 30$^{\circ}$ flexion position of the head were measured. The Frankfort horizontal plane was used as a reference plane. The results were as follows : 1. There were significant differences between initial occlusal contacts of the normal and patient group on upright position and 30$^{\circ}$ flexion of the head(p<0.05, p<0.01) 2. The position of the initial occlusal contacts have a tendency to place anterior and inferior to maximal intercuspal position in upright position and 30( flexion of the head as well as posterior and inferior in supine position and 45$^{\circ}$ extension of the head in the normal and patient groups. 3. There were significant differences among the initial occlusal contacts between uptight and supine position; upright and 45$^{\circ}$ extension of the head(p<0.05); supine position and 30$^{\circ}$ flexion of the head, .and 30(flexion and 45$^{\circ}$ extension of the head in the patient group(p<0.01) The result have shown that after treatment on the supine position, it may be necessary to check occlusal contact on the upright position as well ass flexion of the head. It may need careful adjustment in occlusal condition on upright position of TMDs patient.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to provide more effective interventions for elderly men with weak core muscles by measuring the thickness of the muscles according to the five core stabilization exercise and comparing the thickness differences in muscles in each posture. Methods : The study selected 29 elderly men aged 65 to 80 years old among outpatient patients at S Medical Center in B city, and measured the muscle thickness by exercise posture once. In order to find out the thickness of the external oblique (EO), internal oblique (IO), and transverse abdominis (TrA) muscles were measured by using rehabilitative ultrasound imaging (RUSI) in five exercise conditions. Results : A significant change in the thickness of the EO muscles in each group was measured by the method of motion, followed by the abdominal crunches (1.67±0.15), the lower body rotations (1.54±0.07). As a result of measuring the thickness of the IO muscles of each group according to the exercise method, the bridge group (1.14±0.22) was the highest, followed by the abdominal drawing group (1.05±0.03). As a result of measuring the thickness of the TrA muscles of each group according to the exercise method, the abdominal crunches (0.98±1.00) were the highest, and the bridge group (0.57±0.05) were higher in order of magnitude. Conclusion : Consequently, the five core stabilization exercises all affect changes in abdominal thickness and are expected to continue to require training studies on muscle posture.

In this study, a cycling smart wear for measuring cycling posture and motion was developed using a three-dimensional motion analysis camera and an IMU inertial sensor. Results were compared according to parts to derive the optimal smart device attachment location, enabling correct posture measurement and cycle motion analysis to design a pattern. Conclusions were as follows: 1) 'S-T8' > 'S-T10' > 'S-L4' was the most significant area for each lumbar spine using a 3D motion analysis system with representative posture change (90°, 60°, 30°) to derive incisions and size specifications; 2) the part with the smallest relative angle change among significant section reference points during pattern design was applied as a reference point for attaching a cycling smart device to secure detachable safety of the device. Optimal locations for attaching the cycling device were the "S-L4" hip bone (Sacrum) and lumbar spine No. 4 (Lumbar 4th); 3) the most suitable sensor attachment location for monitoring knee induction-abduction was the anatomical location of the rectus femoris; 4) a cycling smart wear pattern was developed without incision in the part where the sensor and electrode passed. The wearing was confirmed with 3D CLO. This study aims to provide basic research on exercise analysis smart wear, to expand the smart cycling area that could only be realized with smart devices and smart watches attached to current cycles, and to provide an opportunity to commercialize it as cycling smart wear.
To observe the change in the status of stresses according to three different postural angulation of an intervertebral disc with or without nucleus pulposus, 6 specimens of a 3-dimensional photoelastic model of the s pine were made of epoxy. The nucleus pulposus portion was replaced with silicon in three models, and the three were made without silicon. Through axial application of a vertical compressive load of 8kg, the peculiar patterns of the isochromatic fringes were observed. Stresses on the intervertebral disc were analyzed according to three different postural angulations of the intervertebral disc with the nucleus pulposus and without the nucleus pulposus. The results of these study are as follow : 1. In an erect neutral posture with the nucleus pulposus, the stress concentration was much increased at the posterior portion rather than at the anterior portion. Also, the high stress was concentrated at the medial and central portion. In an erect neutral posture without the nucleus pulposus, the stress concentration was much increased at the anterior portion rather than at the posterior portion and the stress distribution seemed to be locally concentrated. 2. In a maximal flexed posture, the stress concentration was much increased at the posterior portion rather than at the anterior portion. Comparing the presence of the nucleus pulposus with the absence of the nucleus pulposus, the stress concentration was lower at the anterior portion in the presence of the nucleus pulposus than in the absence of the nucleus pulposus. However, the stress distribution at the posterior portion was nearly same in the two groups. According to the analysis of the stress distribution diagram, as a whole, the stress pattern around the disc was evenly distributed. 3. In a maximal extended posture, the higher concentration of the stress distribution at the anterior and medial portion rather than in the posterior and lateral portion was observed. The stress concentration was higher in the presence of the nucleus pulposus than in the absence of the nucleus pulposus. 4. Comparing the maximal flexed posture with the erect neutral posture, the stress concentration in the flexed posture was much decreased in the posterior portion rather than in the erect neutral posture, and an even distribution of the stress pattern in the flexed posture was observed. 5. In the presence of the nucleus pulposus, at the anterior and posterior portion, the stress concentration in the flexed posture was much decreased compared with the extended posture. In the absence of the nucleus pulposus, at the anterior and posterior portion, the stress concentration in the extended posture was much decreased compared with the flexed posture.
The purpose of this study was to compare Gwonbeop motions among "Gihyosinseo", "Mubiji", "Muyejaebobunyuksokjib" and to analysis catalogue of books on Gwonbeop for comprehensive interpretation in "Muyedobotongji". the conclusion through literature review was as follows. First, There were total 16 references which were composed of 14 references of China and 2 references of Korea. In particular there was no reference of Japan for Gwonbeop. In detail, unrepresentative references of China were "Hanseo", "Gihyosinseo", "Mubiji" and unrepresentative reference of Korea was Muyejaebobunyuksokjib". Second, We compared motions of Gwonbeop between China and Korea. There were located 5 motions such as Gyungakguheese(False Prey Posture), Gigose(Flag Beating Posture), Ahnshichukshinse(Goose Wing Posture), Jumjoose(Picking Elbow Posture), Pogase(Throwing Shelf Postere). In other three references unmentioned "Mubiji" there were located 8 motions such as Jungranse(Spring Railing Posture), Gichukgakse(Ghost Kicking and Leg Striking Postere), Jidangse(Open Finger Attacking Posture), Soodoose(Beast Head Shield Posture) Shingwon(Heavenly Fist Posture), Il-jopyunse(Whipping Lunging Posture), Jakjiryongse(Dragon Prey Snatching Posture), Joyangsoose(Slanting Hero Hand Posture), In two references of Korea there were located 2 unique motions such as Nachaluichoolmun Gakabyunhase(Low Encountering Posture), Gumgyedongnipse(Single Leg Throwing Postere). Third, Most of all we found two kinds of unique motions such as Chukcheonse and Eungswaeik on "Muyejaebobunyuksokjib" and such as Nachaluichoolmun Gakabyunhase(Low Encountering Posture), Gumgyedongnipse (Single Leg Throwing Postere) on "Muyedobotongji". Based on chronological table although "Gihyosinseo" is the longest literature, there was begun changing techniques in details on literatures of Korea. Transformed into techniques of Gwonbeop on Korea could be supposed that those skills were reflected in society and culture of the Joseon Dynasty. To sum it up, Gwonbeop of "Muyedobotongji" was written by "Gihyosinseo", "Mubiji", "Muyejaebobunyuksokjib" but most motions of Gwonbeop were begun to change gradually except 5 motions of "Gihyosinseo". Especially, there were 8 unique motions which could not be found in references of China. Those unique motions of Korea literatures were living proof of attempting transfiguration from motions of China. The significance of this study was to be able to put stepping-stone to interpretate history of Taekwondo which takes center stage on bare hands martial arts and analyzed the meaning of historical martial arts on Gwonbeop in Joseon Dynasty.
This study presents an automatic system to predict parturition time in the crated sows. The system relies on ultrasonic transducers mounted from above along the length of the crate. Using a 40 kHz time of flight (TOF) single envelope wave, the momentary distances between the sensors are measured. Therefore, the local momentary height of the sow and the momentary posture, i.e. standing posture (SDP), kneeling posture (KP), sitting posture (STP) and lateral lying posture (LLP) are determined. Crated sows change their postures from standing to lying and vice versa which follows a characteristic pattern. As parturition approaches, sows exhibit uneasiness, restlessness and the stand up sequence (SUS, the posture transition from LLP to SDP) rate increases because of labor pains. In time series, the SUS rate demonstrates a peak and it happens approximately 0-12 h before parturition. In this paper, the basic parturition threshold value method (BPTVM) and the same hour method (SHM) are proposed for predicting parturition, both of which are based on the SUS rate. The BPTVM mainly detects the peak of the SUS rate. As the SUS rate exceeds the threshold value, the parturition becomes predictable. Moreover, the SHM calculates the difference in the SUS rates between a particular time of day and the corresponding time of the preceding day. Compared to the BPTVM, the SHM can eliminate the circadian rhythm of the SUS rate influenced by feeding behavior. Using the SHM the parturition can be approximately predicted within hours. In an attempt to define the threshold parameters of predicting parturition, a data set with 32 sows of the SUS rate are used to estimate assumable predicting probability. The results show the assumable probability of the parturition prediction within 9 h is 96.9% for the SHM and 84.4% for the BPTVM. Moreover, the SHM can even reach a 75% probability of prediction within three hours of parturition. We conclude that the SHM is more accurate and is more useful for parturition time prediction. When parturition is detected, the proposed algorithm generates a warning signal which can inform human personnel to protect the mother and newborn piglets.

In this study, radiation doses of major organs in various postures in lower extremity teleography were measured and compared to investigate the utility of the test methods. Ten adult males who underwent lower extremity teleography at a tube voltage of 73 kVp, tube current of 32 mAs, and SID of 180 cm. Using rando phantom, glass dosimeter was attached to the eye lens, thyroid gland, and genital gland to measure the radiation dose in each area 5 times in each anteroposterior posture and posteroanterior posture. The results were compared and analyzed through Paired T-test. The images from the anteroposterior posture and posteroanterior posture were evaluated through the blind test on a scale of 5. As a result, the posteroanterior method could reduce the dose than the anteroposterior posture method: less dose for the eye lens by 6%, thyroid gland by 6%, and genital gland by 26%. Since there was no significant difference in image evaluation, the posteroanterior posture is considered better than the anteroposterior posture in lower extremity teleography.
