약물동태학 모형에 대한 변분 베이즈 방법 (A variational Bayes method for pharmacokinetic model)

  • 본 논문에서는 평균장 방법(mean-field methods)을 기반으로 사후 분포(posterior distribution)를 근사하는 방법인 변분 베이즈 방법(variational Bayes methods)에 대해 소개한다. 특히, 모수들을 실수공간으로 변환 후의 결합 사후분포를 가우시안 분포(Gaussian distribution)들의 곱(product)으로 근사하는 방법인 자동 미분 변분 추론(automatic differentiation variational inference)방법에 대해 자세히 소개하고, 환자에게 약물을 투여한 후 시간에 따라 약물의 흐름을 파악하는 연구인 약물동태학 모형(pharmacokinetic models)에 적용한다. 소개된 변분 베이즈 방법을 이용하여 자료분석을 실시하고 마코프 체인 몬테 카를로(Markov chain Monte Carlo)방법을 기초로한 자료분석의 결과와 비교한다. 알고리즘의 구현은 Stan을 이용한다.

  • Anterior and posterior parallel opposed field technique covering entire neck is desirable for elimination of junctional problems in treating upper neck with bilateral parallel opposed fields and lower neck with anterior one field. For good dose distribution in neck, dose in build-up region should be high for anterior field and should be low for posterior field. And so, with 10 MV X-ray, lead absorber was used for anterior field only. The adequate thickness of lead absorber, absorber-skin separation, width of central cord block for posterior field and anterior & posterior field weight were studied using film dosimery. The results are as follows. 1. As the thickness of the lead absorber increased the dose in build-up region increased. 2. As the absorber-skin separation decreased the dose in build-up region increased. 3. The adequate thickness of lead absorber was around 5.6mm. 4. The adequate absorber-skin separation was around 5cm. 5. The adequate posterior cord block width was 3cm. 6. 4:1 weighting for anterior and posterior field was adequate. And so with this technique, adequate dose distribution could be made as well as elimination junction problems.

  • The use of composite resin for the posterior teeth gives rise to clinical problem due to the lack of mechanical properties. The purpose of this study was to observe the fractured surfaces of light posterior composite resins which are P-10, Clearfil posterior, Adaptic anterior & posterior, P-30, Lite-fil posterior, Estilux posterior, Helio-molar, and Ful-fil com pules (Table 1). The failure of composite resin specimens of I, T and Y-Type (Fig. 1,2) occured under compression. Fractographical observations by SEM (JSM-T20, JEOL) were carried out in order to examine the fracture behaviour of eight composite resins in different types of specimens. The results obtained from this study were as follows: 1. Similar features were found in fractured surfaces of eight composite resins. 2. The crack growth was initiated at the regions of porosities. 3. The crack propagated on the filler-matrix interface. 4. As the crack increased in size, it accelerated to form secondary crack. 5. The fracture behaviour was dependent on the content, size, shape, and distribution of fillers.

임플랜트 Overdenture의 Bar설계에 따른 하악지지조직의 광탄성학적 응력분석 (PHOTOELASTIC STRESS ANALYSIS ON THE MANDIBLE CAUSED BY IMPLANT OVERDENTURE)

  • This study was performed to evaluate the effects of number and alignment of implant fixture and various bar designs on the retention of denture and the stress distribution. Six kinds of photoelastic mandibular models and nine kinds of overdenture specimens were designed. A unilateral vertical load was gradually applied on the right first molar to calculate the maximal dislodgement load of each specimen. A unilateral vertical load of 17 Kgf was applied on the right first molar and a vertical load of 10 Kgf was applied on the interincisal edge region. The stress pattern which developed in each photoelastic model was analyzed by the reflection polariscope. The results obtained were as follows: 1. The maximal dislodgement load reversely increased with the distance from the loading point to the implant fixture, while it linearly increased with that from the most posterior implant fixture to the mesial clip. The maximal dislodgement load also increased with the use of a cantilever bar. 2. Under the posterior vertical load, the stress to the supporting tissue of the denture base increased with the distance from the loading point to the implant future. The stress concentration on the apical area of the implant future reversely increased with the distance from the loading point to the implant future. 3. In the overdentures supported by two implant fixtures under the posterior vertical load. the specimen implanted on lateral incisor areas with a cantilever bar exhibited more favorable stress distribution than that without a cantilever bar. The specimen implanted on the canine areas without a cantilever bar, however, exhibited more favorable stress distribution. 4. In the overdentures supported by three implant fixtures. the specimen implanted ell the midline and canine areas exhibited more favorable stress distribution than that implanted oil the midline and the first premolar areas. 5. In the overdentures supported by four implant fixtures. the specimen implanted with two adjacent implant fixtures exhibited more favorable stress distribution than that implanted at equal distance under the posterior vertical load. 6. Under the anterior vertical load, the overdentures supported by three implant fixtures exhibited stress concentration on the supporting structure of the middle implant future. In overdentures supported by two or four implant futures, no significant difference was noted in stress distribution between the types of bars. These results indicate that the greater the number of implant fixtures, the better the stress distribution is. A favorable stress distribution may be obtained in the overdentures supported by two or three implant fixtures, if the location and the design of the bar are appropriate.

비교사 분할 및 병합으로 구한 의사형태소 음성인식 단위의 성능 (Performance of Pseudomorpheme-Based Speech Recognition Units Obtained by Unsupervised Segmentation and Merging)

  • This paper proposes a new method to determine the recognition units for large vocabulary continuous speech recognition (LVCSR) in Korean by applying unsupervised segmentation and merging. In the proposed method, a text sentence is segmented into morphemes and position information is added to morphemes. Then submorpheme units are obtained by splitting the morpheme units through the maximization of posterior probability terms. The posterior probability terms are computed from the morpheme frequency distribution, the morpheme length distribution, and the morpheme frequency-of-frequency distribution. Finally, the recognition units are obtained by sequentially merging the submorpheme pair with the highest frequency. Computer experiments are conducted using a Korean LVCSR with a 100k word vocabulary and a trigram language model obtained by a 300 million eojeol (word phrase) corpus. The proposed method is shown to reduce the out-of-vocabulary rate to 1.8% and reduce the syllable error rate relatively by 14.0%.

Bayes and Sequential Estimation in Hilbert Space Valued Stochastic Differential Equations

  • In this paper we consider estimation of a real valued parameter in the drift coefficient of a Hilbert space valued Ito stochastic differential equation. First we consider observation of the corresponding diffusion in a fixed time interval [0, T] and prove the Bernstein - von Mises theorem concerning the convergence of posterior distribution of the parameter given the observation, suitably normalised and centered at the MLE, to the normal distribution as Tlongrightarrow$\infty$. As a consequence, the Bayes estimator of the drift parameter becomes asymptotically efficient and asymptotically equivalent to the MLE as Tlongrightarrow$\infty$. Next, we consider observation in a random time interval where the random time is determined by a predetermined level of precision. We show that the sequential MLE is better than the ordinary MLE in the sense that the former is unbiased, uniformly normally distributed and efficient but is latter is not so.

A Bayesian Approach to Linear Calibration Design Problem

  • Based on linear models, the inference about the true measurement x$_{f}$ and the optimal designs x (nx1) for the calibration experiments are considered via Baysian statistical decision analysis. The posterior distribution of x$_{f}$ given the observation y$_{f}$ (qxl) and the calibration experiment is obtained with normal priors for x$_{f}$ and for themodel parameters (.alpha., .betha.). This posterior distribution is not in the form of any known distributions, which leads to the use of a numerical integration or an approximation for the calculation of the overall expected loss. The general structure of the expected loss function is characterized in the form of a conjecture. A near-optimal design is obtained through the approximation nof the conditional covariance matrix of the joint distribution of (x$_{f}$ , y$_{f}$ $^{T}$ )$^{T}$ . Numerical results for the univariate case are given to demonstrate the conjecture and to evaluate the approximation.n.

베이지안 추론을 이용한 전쟁 시뮬레이션과 예측 연구 (A Study on the War Simulation and Prediction Using Bayesian Inference)

  • 시간적인 차이를 두고 획득한 이질적인 과거 전쟁 결과 데이터를 하나의 모형으로 구축하는 방법으로 베이지안 추론에 의한 전쟁시뮬레이션 모형을 구축하는 방법을 제안하였다. 과거의 전쟁 결과를 분석하여 미래에 있을 수 있는 전쟁을 예측하는 방법으로 선형회귀모형을 적용하는 방법을 고려할 수 있다. 그러나 역사적으로 시대가 서로 달라 전장 환경의 변화가 반영된 이질적인 두 유형의 자료들이라면 모형의 가정사항 위반으로 하나의 선형회귀모형으로 적합하는 것은 적절하지 않다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 앞선 시대에 있는 자료를 비정보적 사전분포로 가정하여 사후분포를 구하고 이를 다음 시대에 얻은 자료를 분석하기 위한 사전분포로 활용하여 최종 사후분포를 추론하는 베이지안 추론 방법을 제안하였다. 베이지안 추론 방법의 또 다른 장점은 마코프 체인 몬테 카를로 방법으로 샘플링한 결과를 이용하여 불확실성이 반영된 사후분포나 사후예측분포를 추론할 수 있다는 점이다. 이렇게 했을 때 고전적인 선형회귀모형으로 분석하는 것보다 다양한 정보를 활용할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 향후 추가적으로 획득되는 자료도 모형에 반영하여 모형을 계속 업데이트시킬 수 있다는 장점이 있다.

추간판 응력분포에 대한 광탄성 해석 (Photoelastic analysis of the Stress distribution on an intervertebral disc)

  • 요추의 중립위, 굴곡위 및 신전위에서의 응력 분포의 차이와 수핵의 유무에 따른 응력 분포의 변화를 관찰하기 위해 본 연구를 시행하였으며 등색선의 양상을 관찰하고 그 응력을 해석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 기립 중립위에서는 수핵이 있는 경우는 전방 부위보다 후방부위에 고응력이 집중되었으며, 전후방 모두 내측부와 중간부위가 고응력이고 외측부로 이동할수록 저응력이 관찰되었다. 수핵이 없는 경우는 후방보다 전방부에 고응력이 집중되었으며 국소적으로 응력이 집중되는 양상을 보이고 있다. 2. 최대 굴곡위에서는 수핵의 존재에 관계없이, 전방보다 후방부가 고응력이 집중되었으며, 수핵 유무 비교시 수핵이 있는 경우가 없는 경우보다 전방이 저응력, 후방은 거의 동등한 응력 분포를 나타내었다. 응력 분포도의 분석에 의하면 전반적으로 균등한 응력 분포 양상을 나타냈다. 3. 최대 신전위에서는 수핵 유무에 관계없이 전방부에 고응력, 후방부에 저응력, 내측에 고응력, 외측은 저응력을 나타내었으며, 수핵이 있는 경우 없는 경우보다 고응력을 나타냈다. 4. 기립 중립위와 최대 굴곡위의 비교에서는 기립 중립위보다 굴곡시 수핵의 유무에 관계없이 전반적으로 후방부 응력이 2차 정도 현저히 감소하는 양상을 보이면서 비교적 균등한 응력 분포를 나타냈다. 5. 최대 신전위와 최대 굴곡위의 비교에스는 수핵 존재시 최대 신전위보다 최대 굴곡위에서 응력 분포가 전후방 모두 2차 정도 감소되고 수핵이 없는 경우는 최대 신전위가 굴곡위보다 응력이 전후방 0.5차 정도 감소되었다.

POSTERIOR COMPUTATION OF SURVIVAL MODEL WITH DISCRETE APPROXIMATION

  • In the proportional hazard model with the beta process prior, the posterior computation with the discrete approximation is considered. The time period of interest is partitioned by small intervals. On each partitioning interval, the likelihood is approximated by that of a binomial experiment and the beta process prior is by a beta distribution. Consequently, the posterior is approximated by that of many independent binomial model with beta priors. The analysis of the leukemia remission data is given as an example. It is illustrated that the length of the partitioning interval affects the posterior and one needs to be careful in choosing it.
