A Study on Service Integration of Research Information and Dictionary in Portal Site (포털사이트의 사전과 학술정보 연계 검색 방안 연구)

  • Internet portals have been revolutionized not only as simple search engines but also as a new space for the Internet users. They have developed to give satisfying search results for academic information users. academic fields. However, their attention was given to the quantity rather than the quality of the results. This tendency is now changing. This study addresses the problems in the search process using the current portal sites and presents an integrated scholarly information service where users can access more organized and trustworthy information linked with online technical keyword dictionary. When a user enter a keyword on a portal site, he/she can access to high quality scholarly information resources linked with keyword. This could assure the user to get an expanded knowledge with confirmation.

  • In this paper, we proposed a new customized e-Ring(Enterprise Portal Back Tone) system which could be represented each organization feature. The e-Ring system provided a call back tone and additional services to reduce the waiting time when the client called an organization. This system is for an appropriate organization public relations instead of the meaningless ring back tone which is used usual call, also is maximized the service availability and work efficiency which is obtained from the automatic response and service suppling to users who have needs and questions.

  • This study reviews planning support systems (PSS) in the context of the development processes of urban models(focusing on Land-Use Transport Models, LUTM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), both of which are key components of PSS supporting spatial plannings like urban and regional planning. It also explores changing planning environments like increased demands of citizen participation, especially in the environmental sector like global warming, and intensified development of Information technologies based on Internet and mobile networks. As a conclusion this study proposes a prototype of portal service to support low-carbon city planning to mitigate the greenhouse gas as an alternative to supplement or reinforce PSS, reflecting the changing planning environments.

  • This paper suggested a way to solve the problems by using domain experts who are already in the significant level of knowledge in those fields. For the purpose of achieving our goal, a very simple and efficient approach to construct the knowledge-base which can play an important role in providing researchers with essential information in need was proposed. In addition, the Adaptive R&D Information Service Portal with a new schema structure and a construction method of representing expert's knowledge efficiently was developed. With the simplicity and expandability of the proposed system it can be a good model for a similar system to be developed.

  • The portal is conceptualized as a discovery gateway to facilitate the communication and sharing of geographic data and information. Generally, Geospatial portal serve the different function and service according to the operational agents and goal. It was shown that Geospatial Portal might be constructed, based on the integration of the public data and Geospatial data portal, OpenAPI, shared Cloud Infrastructure. Ultimately, this study suggests the analysis results for Geospatial Information Prortal trends and contribute to the future development of Geospatial Information Open Platform(called Vworld).

  • Recently, as the range of users utilizing open data has expanded from experts to students, and general citizens, the role of open data portals has changed. In the past, portals have neglected to increase data utilization through citizen participation by focusing on the role of simple data repository, but now they tend to focus on understanding, collaboration and sharing values so that users can actively use data. To meet these social trends, open data portals need to seek ways to improve user-centered services that can encourage citizen participation. The purpose of this study is to identify the main functions for citizen participation in open data portals, to analyze the current status of open data portal user services and to suggest ways to improve them. Through the literature research, we investigated the functions provided by portal services for citizen participation, deduced the types of user services, and analyzed open data portal user services. Furthermore, we suggested user-centered public data portal services improvement plans for citizen participation.

  • The basic concept of an improved business and productivity for Small and Medium Sized Enterprizes, which makes use of an information portal, is to assure competitive power, increase the production quantity through the interchange of a company and the outside environment, and to build cooperation. To reduce the charge of the equipment, as well as to introduce and information program, it should build an information environment from inside the company by suing the information portal ASP(Application Service Provider). This portal is already built by the basic information infrastructure through the Internet.

  • The objective of manufacturing knowledge sharing platform is to convert the production experience like a worker's know-how into quantitative values, to construct database of the process technologies and to share the technologies systematically via web portal service. In addition, the knowledge sharing platform contains the total production processes of automobile and mobile products such as information of experts, facilities, and cutting-edge R&D outputs. Automobile, telecommunication mobile, and semiconductors account for a large amount of Korea's export industry rate. These industries need production technology which is a result of converting worker's know-how and R&D. Manufacturing knowledge portal aims to enable transforming production experience such as worker's know-how into standardized form for constructing database and sharing technologies systematically. Manufacturing knowledge portal can contribute to small and mid-sized manufacturing companies with further improvements.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose an effective direction of data linkage for building the humanities assets one-stop portal service. For this purpose, We collected and analyzed the actual status of the domestic institution with humanities assets, and presented the linkage direction through analysis of the data held by the target organization. The results of this study are as follows: First, we proposed a classification system of humanities assets based on the reviewing the existing classification system on the subject of humanities assets. Second, we set up the categories of potential data that can be incorporated into humanities assets through a detailed analysis of the subject and type of data held by the subject institutions. Third, we analyzed the platforms of similar case organizations providing one-stop portal services for humanities assets and proposed the applicable meta fields when constructing one-stop system based on similarity.

  • Ecological and ecosystem database is becoming very necessary to understand origins and relationship between human and nature and also to minimize disturbance caused by human activities. An ecological information portal can play important roles as a computing system to collect knowledge, distributed research findings and separated data from researchers. In this study, we designed and developed ecological information portal service (EcoBank 1.0) for collecting and providing ecological information for diverse classes of stakeholders. To reach the goal, we had reviewed related and comparable ecological database portals to design conceptual structure of EcoBank system including database management framework. Then, we developed some functions of ecosystem analysis for each stake-holders (researchers, general public and policy makers). As a result of this study, we successfully designed of EcoBank system covering the functions of Digital Object Identifier(DOI) publishing and data quality management process. Also, we (1) applied ecological indices for calculating biodiversity by administrative boundary for policy makers, (2) provided statistical information of econature map for general public and distribution characteristics of species for researchers. To make a successful establishment of EcoBank, we have to collect and build up related database and offer various and reliable ecological data consistently. We expect that the successful construction of EcoBank will help not only to accomplish sustainable development goals but also to raise the welfare of ecosystem in Korea.
