NR-BR 기반 고무소재에서 폴리부타디엔의 C-C 겔 함량과 물리기계적, 유변학적 특성 사이의 상호관계 (Correlation between Physico-Mechanical and Rheological Properties of Rubber Compounds Based on NR-BR with C-C Gel Content in Polybutadiene)

  • In this study, microstructure and gel content (C-C) of polybutadiene rubber (PBR) were investigated using various techniques including ASTM D 3616, attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (ATR FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR). The ATR FTIR spectra of the samples were investigated to determine the cis, trans, 1, 2-vinyl and the C-C gel content in PBR. The absorbance ratios of specific peaks in different grades of PBR were correlated with the C-C gel content measured by the ATR FTIR techniques. Physico-mechanical and rheological properties of rubber compounds based on BR with various amounts of gel were determined. The results showed that there is an acceptable correlation between these properties and the C-C gel content of PBR.

Systematic studies on the properties of poly(lactic acid) (PLA)/liquid polybutadiene rubber (LPB) reactive blends

  • Following our previous work, we have conducted further systematic studies to investigate the effects of reactive blending on the thermal and mechanical properties of blends of poly(lactic acid) (PLA) and a liquid rubber, polybutadiene (LPB). The toughened PLAs were prepared by melt-blending the PLA with various contents (0-9 wt.%) of the LPB in the absence or presence of dicumyl peroxide (DCP), a radical initiator. It was found that the rubber domains were homogeneously dispersed at the nanoscale in the PLA matrix up to 9 wt.% of LPB thanks to the reactive blending in the presence of DCP. Owing to the compatibilization of PLA with LPB through reactive blending, the elongation and toughness of PLA was enhanced, while the hydrolytic degradation of PLA was reduced.

  • For the practical use as a biosensor, a rubber electrode bound by polybutadiene was newly devised for the determination of hydrogen peroxide. Then its electrochemical behaviors were investigated. The signal could be obtained at low electrode potential between 0.0 ~ -0.5 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) with a detection limit of $1.4{\times}10^{-4}M$ and its potential dependence was linear in the experimental range. Especially its Lineweaver-Burk plot showed a very good linearity giving the evidence of a good enzyme immobilization on the surface of the electrode. And mechanical stability of the electrode resulted from using rubber binder presented a new possibility for the practical use of biosensor.

목분 및 폴리부타디엔 고무를 혼합한 멜라민 수지의 물성 (Properties of Melamine Resins Mixed with Wood-Flour and Polybutadiene Rubber)

  • Melamine resin was mixed with polybutadiene rubber or wood flour in the ranges of $5{\sim}75%(wt.%)$. For mixtures, physical and thermal properties were tested experimentally. Physical properties were mainly influenced on the dispersed states of rubber or wood flour. The highest flexural and impact strength were obtained at wood flour content $65{\times}67%$. Rubber was homopolymerized by hardner, or partially copolymerized with melamine resin. At rubber content $3{\sim}6%$, cured products represented lower modulus without decreasing mechanical strength.

Polybutadiene 고무 변성 에폭시 접착제의 물성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Physical Properties of Epoxy Adhesives Modified with Polybutadiene Rubber)

  • Epoxy resin and CTBN(carboxyl terminated butadiene acrylonitrile) rubber were reacted at $150^{\circ}C$. Epoxy mixtures containing reactant in a ratio $0{\sim}75%(wt%)$ of total liquid component were with dicyandiamide(DICY) at $130{\sim}200^{\circ}C$. Cure, thermal and adhesive properties were investigated in relation to rubber content, cure temperature, hardner content and promoter content. $CTBN{\times}13$ showed better properties in miscibility, curing time and adhesive strength. 2PZ-CNS was more excellent in Tg, and melamine was in adhesive strength. Adhesive strength represented best at rubber content $12{\times}15%$.

  • In this study, we investigate the thermal and mechanical properties of composites comprising ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) and polybutadiene (PB) obtained using carbon black (CB) as a reinforcing and compatibilizing filler. Owing to the significance of elastomeric materials in various industrial applications, blending of EPDM and PB has emerged as a strategic method to optimize the material properties for specific applications. This study offers insights into the blend composition, its microstructure, and the resulting macroscopic behaviors, focusing on the synergetic effects of composite materials. Furthermore, this study delves into curing and rheological behaviors, crosslink densities, and mechanical, thermal, and elastic properties of the elastomeric composites. Through systematic exploration, we believe that this study will be beneficial to material scientists and engineers working on developing advanced elastomeric composites.

  • Aliphatic hydrocarbon gases from rubber pyrolysis have been identified by gas chromatography with tetraethyleneglycol dimethylether column. Rubbers used in this work are polyisoprene, SBR, NBR, polybutadiene, buthyl rubber, polychloroprene and polyurethane rubber. The chromatogram is characteristic for each polymer. Author proposes a method of identification of synthetic rubbers by gas chromatograph of pyrolyzed gas. Sample is pyrolyzed at $450^{\circ}C$ under nitrogen or more effectively helium and gaseous portion, which eliminated liquid condensate, is passed to the column. The appearance of exclusively large peak of isoprene, isobutylene and carbon dioxide shows the presence of polyisoprene, polyisobutylene and polyurethane, respectively. Large peak of butadiene will appear in case of polybutadiene, SBR and NBR, but SBR can be identified through the styrene peak in gas chromatogram of liquid pyrolyzate and NBR can be identified by the evolution of hydrogen cyanide during pyrolysis. Polychloroprene is identified by the evolution of hydrogen chloride. This method could be applied to the identification of copolymer or polymer blend.

  • 고체상태 $^{13}C$ NMR을 이용하여 폴리부타디엔 고무(BR) 가황체의 정성 및 정량분석을 행하였다. TBBS로 촉진된 기존의 충진 BR 가황체에서는 올레핀성 이중결합에의 부가반응과 이중결합 옆의 $\alpha$ 위치에서의 치환반응이 동시에 일어났다. 또한 반응 초기에는 이중결합 옆의 $\alpha$ 위치에서의 치환반응은 이중결합에의 부가반응보다 빠르게 진행되었다. 한편 과가류(overcure) 시간 동안 이중결합-부가 폴리설파이드 구조는 5각형 및 6각형 고리 구조로 변형되는 것으로 추정되었다. 이러한 사슬 변형은 과가류 시간에 발생하는 화학적 가교 밀도와 상관되었다.
