Due to the asymptotic Property, deadbeat control can hardly be applied to the continuous time system control. But some delay element method can deal such a problem. Besides delay element nan well-known digital deadbeat control can be used by the aid of some smoothing elements. in this paper, 2nd order smoothing element is used for the smoothing or the digital deadbeat controller. And this element is argumented to the plant and so control problem is to control digitally the argumented system. We simulated this control system using Matlab language and finally apply this algorithm to the rotary inverted pendulum system.
The authors encountered a case of simultaneous radiation-induced multiple meningiomas and ventriculoperitoneal [VP] shunt-related pneumocephalus. A 35-year-old man, who had undergone surgery for medulloblastoma 21 years previously and subsequently received high dose craniospinal irradiation with adjuvant chemotherapy and later underwent a VP shunt because of hydrocephalus, presented with a severe headache and weakness of both lower extremities. Computed tomography showed an air pocket lesion in the left temporal lobe and a large amount of pneumocephalus with a bony defect of the left tegmen tympani. In addition, a 3 cm sized well enhancing mass was noted in the in the right middle cranial fossa and additional small enhancing nodule in the left frontal pole. He was treated by left temporal craniotomy and repair of the bony and dural defects of the left tegmentum tympanum through extradural and intradural approaches, respectively. Afterwards, he underwent right temporal craniotomy and gross total removal of a rapidly growing right middle fossa mass and a left frontal mass. The histological examination was consistent with atypical meningioma, WHO grade II. In conclusion, physicians have to consider the serious long term complications of high dose radiation therapy and VP shunt placement and need to perform the neuroradiologic follow-up after such treatments for several decades.

We propose an adaptive non-singular terminal sliding-mode control for the fast finite-time convergence (FANTSMC) in robot manipulator. The proposed FANTSMC approach is developed to be applied without singularity in robot manipulator, which has a new pole-placement control with the non-singular terminal sliding variable while generating the desirable control torque. Moreover, the switching gain is designed to suppress the time-delayed estimation error appropriately, which aims at providing the high robust tracking performance. Also, the proposed one employs one-sample delayed information to cancel out the system uncertainties and disturbances. For these reasons, it offers strong attraction within the finite time. It is shown that the tracking performance of the proposed FANTSMC approach is guaranteed to be uniformly ultimately bounded through the Lyapunov stability. The effectiveness of the proposed FANTSMC approach is illustrated in simulations, which is compared with that of the up-to-date control approach.
The variable structure controller is designed such that in sliding mode, the system moves along the switching plane in the vicinity of the switching plane, thus it is robust because it is not affected by the parameter fluctuations of the plant. However, a controller based on a variable structure may not meet the desired performance when it is commanded to track any input or is exposed to disturbances. This study proposes a sliding mode controller that follows the IVSC (Integral Variable Structure Control) approach with ELO (Extended Luenberger observer) to solve this problem. The proposed sliding mode control is applied to the velocity control of the hydraulic motor. The sliding plane was determined by the pole placement, and the control input was designed to ensure the existence of the sliding mode. The feasibility of modeling and controller are reviewed by comparing with conventional proportional-integral control through computer simulation using MATLAB software and experimenting on the cases of significant plant parameter fluctuations and disturbances.
Vibration is one of the factors that degrades the performance of equipment and measurement equipment used in high-tech industries such as semiconductors and display. The vibration isolator is classified into passive type and active type. The passive vibration isolator has the weakness of insufficient vibration isolation performance in the low frequency band, so an active vibration control system that can overcome these problems is used recently. In this paper, PID controller is used to control the active vibration isolator. Methods for setting the gain of the PID controller include the Zeigler-Nichols method, the pole placement method. These methods have the disadvantage of requiring a lot of time or knowing the system model accurately. This paper proposes the gain auto tuning method of the active vibration isolator applied with the PSO algorithm, which is an optimization algorithm that is easy to implement and has stable convergence performance with low calculations. It is expected that it will be possible to improve vibration isolation performance and reduce the time required for gain tuning by applying the proposed PSO algorithm to the active vibration isolator.

This paper presents various strategies for humanoid vehicle driving and egress tasks. For driving, a tele-operating system that controls a robot based on a human operator's commands is built. In addition, an autonomous assistant module is developed for the operator. Normal position control can result in severe damage to robots when they egress from vehicles. To prevent this problem, another approach that mixes various joint control techniques is adopted in this study. Additionally, a footplate is newly designed and attached to the vehicle floor for the ground landing phase of the egress task. The attached plate enables the robot to step down onto the ground in a safe manner. For stable locomotion, a balance controller is designed for the humanoid. For the design of the controller, the robot is modeled using an inverted pendulum that consists of a spring and a damper. Then, a state feedback controller (with pole placement and a state observer) is built based on the simplified model. Many approaches that are presented in this paper were successfully applied to a full-sized humanoid, DRC-HUBO+, in the DARPA Robotics Challenge Finals, which were held in the United States in 2015.
Ionic Polymer-Metal Composite (IPMC) consisting of soft membrane plated by platinum electrode layers on both surfaces generates electric energy when subjected to various mechanical stimuli. The paper proposes a circuit model that describes the physical composition of IPMC to predict the voltage generation characteristic corresponding to bending motion. The parameter values in the model are identified to minimize the RMS error between the real and simulated outputs. Following the design of IPMC circuit model, the state observer of the model is designed by using pole placement technique which improves the model accuracy. State observer design technique is also applied to find the inverse model which estimates the input bending angles from the output voltage data. The results show that the inverse model estimates input bending angles fairly well enough for the further applications of IPMC not only as an energy harvester but also as a bending sensor.

This paper deals with the linear matrix inequality (LMI) design procedures for multi-objective Η$_2$/Η$_{\infty}$ controllers with pole-placement constraints for an inverted pendulum system modeled as convex polytopes to ensure the stabilizing regulator and tracking performances. Polytopic models with multiple linear time-invariant models linearized at some operating points are derived to design controllers overcoming the conservativeness such as a controller may have when it is designed for a model linearized at a single operating point. Multi-objective controllers are designed for polytopic models by the LMT design technique with convex algorithms. It is observed that the inverted pendulum controlled by any controller designed for each polytopic model is stabilizingly restored to the vertical angle position for initial values of larger tilt anlges.
An AMD control system is usually built based on the original model of a target building. As a result, the fact leads a large calculation workload exists. Therefore, the orders of a structural model should be reduced appropriately. Among various model-reduction methods, a suitable reduced-order model is important to high-rise buildings. Meanwhile, a partial structural information is discarded directly in the model-reduction process, which leads to the accuracy reduction of its controller design. In this paper, an optimal technique is selected through comparing several common model-reduction methods. Then, considering the dynamic characteristics of a high-rise building, an improved balanced truncation (BT) method is proposed for establishing its reduced-order model. The abandoned structural information, including natural frequencies, damping ratios and modal information of the original model, is reconsidered. Based on the improved reduced-order model, a new reduced-order controller is designed by a regional pole-placement method. A high-rise building with an AMD system is regarded as an example, in which the energy distribution, the control effects and the control parameters are used as the indexes to analyze the performance of the improved reduced-order controller. To verify its effectiveness, the proposed methodology is also applied to a four-storey experimental frame. The results demonstrate that the new controller has a stable control performance and a relatively short calculation time, which provides good potential for structural vibration control of high-rise buildings.

The stabilization control of Inverted Pendulum(IP) system is difficult because of its nonlinearity and structural unstability. Futhermore, a series of conventional techniques such as the pole placement and the optimal control based on the local linearizations have narrow stabilizable regions. At the same time, the fine tunings of their gain parameters are also troublesome. Thus, in this paper, an Evolving Neural Network Controller(ENNC) which its structure and its connection weights are optimized simultaneously by Real Variable Elitist Genetic Algorithm(RVEGA) was presented for stabilization of an IP system with nonlinearity. This proposed ENNC was described by a simple genetic chromosome. And the deletion of neuron, the according to the various flag types. Therefore, the connection weights, its structure and the neuron types in the given ENNC can be optimized by the proposed evolution strategy. And the proposed ENNC was implemented successfully on the ADA-2310 data acquisition board and the 80586 microprocessor in order to stabilize the IP system. Through the simulation and experimental results, we showed that the finally acquired optimal ENNC was very useful in the stabilization control of IP system.
