  • Recently many wearable computers have been developed. But they still have many user interface problems from both an input and output perspective. This paper presents a wearable user interface based on EOG(electrooculogram) sensing circuit and marker recognition. In the proposed user interface, the EOG sensor circuit which tracks the movement of eyes by sensing the potential difference across the eye is used as a pointing device. Objects to manipulate are represented human readable markers. And the marker recognition system detects and recognize markers from the camera input image. When a marker is recognized, the corresponding property window and method window are displayed to the head mounted display. Users manipulate the object by selecting a property or a method item from the window. By using the EOG sensor circuit and the marker recognition system, we can manipulate an object with only eye movement in the wearable computing environment.

  • We have constructed a synthetic spectrum of the 2.5 micron $C_2H$ bands and compared them with diminutive structures in the near-infrared spectra of Comets P/Halley and West (1976 VI). We found that the Q branches of the $C_2H$ bands coincide with two small emission peaks in the spectra of the comets. We undertook Monte Carlo simulations using observed emission intensities of $C_2$ and possibly $C_2H$ in Comet P/Halley in order to derive a lifetime range of $C_2H$ and a production rate at the time of observations of P/Halley. We obtained a $C_2H$ production rate of $1\times10^{27}\;sec^{-1}$ for P/Halley on December 20, 1985, assuming the 2.5 micron features are due to $C_2H$. We derived a very short lifetime (<100 seconds) of $C_2H$ at 1AU heliocentric distance, assuming that the only parent molecule for $C_2H$ and $C_2$ is $C_2H$. Using this short lifetime we were unable to fit our $C_2$ distribution model to $C_2$ distribution curves observed by O'Dell et al.(1988), because our curve shows a steep slope compared with the observed one. We conclude that there must be significant additional source(s) for $C_2H$ and $C_2$ other than $C_2H_2$.

  • We present a preliminary result of search for CO molecular outflows toward a sample of 68 candidate Very Low Luminosity Objects (VeLLOs; Lint ${\leq}0.1L_{\odot}$) to help to understand their physical properties. The sources have been identified using the data at IR to radio wavelengths by M. Kim et al. 2016 toward nearby star-forming regions in the Gould belt. These sources were observed in rotational transitions 2-1 and 3-2 of $^{12}CO$, $^{13}CO$, and $C^{18}O$ molecules with SRAO, CSO, JCMT, and ASTE telescopes. In the beginning of our survey we made a single pointing observation in $^{12}CO$ 2-1 or 3-2 lines for our sample, identifying 53 sources as potential outflow candidates from their line wing features. We made full or partial mapping observations for these candidates with the same lines, finding 33 sources with bipolar or one-sided outflow features. Out of these 33 sources, 6 VeLLOs are previously known sources to have their outflows and 27 VeLLOs are found to be new outflow sources identified from this study. We estimated outflow properties with corrections for excitation temperature, optical depth, and inclination. Their outflow forces range from $8.7{\times}10^{-10}$ to $6.0{\times}10^{-5}M_{\odot}\;km\;s^{-1}yr^{-1}$ with a median value of $3.6{\times}10^{-7}M_{\odot}\;km\;s^{-1}yr^{-1}$, indicating that most of the VeLLOs are less powerful than those for protostars. Their accretion luminosities vary from $9.7{\times}10^{-9}$ to $166L_{\odot}$ with a median value of $0.004L_{\odot}$, implying that most VeLLOs have larger ratios of the accretion luminosity to the internal luminosity but a significant number of VeLLOs have smaller ratios. This result suggests that many of the VeLLOs can be explained with episodic accretion but a significant number of VeLLOs cannot.

  • We developed a remote control system for the 16" reflecting telescope at KNUO (Kongiu National University Observatory). This system is a close loop system. The electronic control part used TCS-196 of the Korea Astronomy Observatory, the mechanical part was developed directly in this research. The pointing accuracy of this system was ${\pm}$50" in the hour angle direction, ${\pm}$40" in the declination direction after mount modeling. The tracking accuracy was about 1"/min. This pilot test result means that this system is suitable for research or education of astronomical fields.

  • A new method was developed to better understand the principle of Coriolis force. We also investigated the understanding of 5 10th grade students and analyzed their responses. Since no clear explanation about the nature of a rotating disk is provided in school textbooks, it tends to be misunderstood as the earth surface revolving on its axis pointing to the North Pole. This study was carried out focusing on the fact that a rotating disk is the tangential plane at arbitrary latitude. Results showed that there are changes in students' conceptions on the principle of Coriolis force with a new understanding of the rotating disk. In conclusion, a new method used in this study helped students better understand the link between Coriolis force and rotating disk. The method would be helpful to clarify the principle of Coriolis force in school science.

  • Today we are inclined to dine out more frequently according as the national income is increased and Women enter into the Social life, 'This tendency results in the universality of foodculture and the food made of fresh food stuff as well as the Pollution-free food is preferable as everyone warits to eat natural food or health food and escapes from the pollution. Moreover we have socail problems like fatress and adult disease which result from the small amount of activity or the food with high calory and high gat. under this circumstance. the most adeguate food seems to be Italian good. It stand in the spottight of food world and is most preferable for everyone today. The sphere of food and beverage has a low value-added-rate compartry to the high increasing rate of customers and profit, so, the efficient managing method for the cost of food and beverage and the operating skill in the kitchen are the principal factors leading to success or failure. Therefore, this research is to show some remedies as follows, pointing out the operating problems of an selected Italian restaurant at the top class hotel. First, most Italian restaurant at the hotel are located in the best place and investing the big capital, But they are open for only 8 hours through a day. This should be improved not to bring a enormous loss to the hotel The brealefast menus such as vegetables or fish food, pizza and pasta which modern man can easily enjoy should be developed open the restaurants for morning gours. Second, the business hours are not made continously. As a result, all the emplyees should stay in the company all day long without taking any advantage of the losed time, This will be the loss for both the company and the employees, By veloping the morning menus, employees shald be classified into morning and afternoon staffs and the opening and closing hour at 3 and 6 O'clock should be used so that minimum number of employees may operate the company. Third, the characteristic of Italian food is in the use of fresh food stuff, The proper purchase of food stuff and the simple distributing system will help Italian restaurant show its character istcc as a hzgh-grade restaurant. Fourth, the most popular Italian food such as pizza or pasta should be market with Priority.

  • The Solar Radio Burst Locator (SRBL) is a spectrometer that can observe solar microwave bursts over a wide band (0.1-18 GHz) as well as detect the burst locations without interferometry or mechanical scanning. Its prototype has been operated at Owens Valley Radio Observatory (OVRO) since 1998. In this study, we have evaluated the capability of the SRBL system in flux and radio burst location measurements. For this, we consider 130 microwave bursts from 2000 to 2002. The SRBL radio fluxes of 53 events were compared with the fluxes from USAF/RSTN and the burst locations of 25 events were compared with the optical flare locations. From this study, we found: (1) there is a relatively good correlation (r = 0.9) between SRBL flux and RSTN flux; (2) the mean location error is about 8.4 arcmin and the location error (4.7 arcmin) of single source events is much smaller than that (14.9 arcmin) of multiple source events; (3) the minimum location error usually occurred just after the starting time of burst, mostly within 10 seconds; (4) there is a possible anti-correlation (r = -0.4) between the pointing error of SRBL antenna and the location error. The anti-correlation becomes more evident (r=-0.9) for 6 strong single source events associated with X-class flares. Our results show that the flux measurement of SRBL is consistent with that of RSTN, and the mean location error of SRBL is estimated to be about 5 arcmin for single source events.

  • RR~Telescopii is a symbiotic nova exhibiting accretion activities through gravitational capture of the slow stellar wind from a Mira variable. We present high resolution spectra of RR~Tel obtained with MIKE and the 6.5 m Magellan-Clay telescope, in which we find broad features with FWHM exceeding $10{\AA}$ at 6545, 6825, 7082, 7023 and $7053{\AA}$. They are formed through Raman-scattering with atomic hydrogen of far-UV He II 1025, O~VI 1032, $1038{\AA}$ and C II 1036 and $1037{\AA}$. We compute the Raman conversion efficiencies using the case B recombination theory for He II emissions, which are used in turn to infer the intrinsic line luminosities of O VI and C II. The Raman O~VI features are characterized by double-peaked profiles with a peak separation ~ 60km/s, pointing out the presence of an accretion disk with a physical size of ~ sub AU. In contrast, Raman C II features exhibit profiles with a simple peak and a narrower width ~40 km/s, indicating that C II is formed in a much more extended region. The weak C II multiplet at 1335, $1336{\AA}$ found in the IUE spectral archive and the absence of C II 1036, $1037{\AA}$ in the FUSE archive show that far-UV C II lines suffer heavy interstellar extinction consistent with the distance of ~ 2.5 kpc to RR Tel.

  • A 2-axis gimbal-type X-band antenna has been widely used to effectively transmit the high resolution image data from the observation satellite to the desired ground station. However, a discontinuous stepper motor activation for rotating the pointing mechanism in azimuth and elevation directions induces undesirable micro-vibration disturbances which can result in the image quality degradation of a high-resolution observation satellite. To enhance the image quality of the observation satellite, attenuating the micro-vibration induced by an activation of the stepper motor for rotational movements of the antenna is important task. In this study, we proposed a low-rotational-stiffness blade gear applied to the output shaft of the stepper motor to obtain the micro-vibration isolation performance. The design of the blade gear was performed through the structure analysis such that this gear is satisfied with the margin of safety rule under the derived torque budget. In addition, the micro-vibration isolation performance of the blade gear was verified through the micro-vibration measurement test using the dedicated micro-vibration measurement device proposed in this study.
