  • There have been many autonomous robot calibration methods which form closed loop structures through the various attached sensors and mechanical fixtures. Single point calibration among them has been used for on-site calibration due to its convenience of implementation. The robot can reach a single point with infinitely many configurations so that single point calibration algorithm can be set up and easily implemented relative to the other methods. However, it is not still easy to drive the robots' sharp edge to its corresponding edge of the fixture. This is error-prone process. In this paper, we propose a 3 dimensional small displacement measuring sensor and a robot calibration algorithm based on this sensor. This method relieves the difficulty of matching two edges in the single point calibration and improves the resulting robot accuracy. Simulated study is carried out on a Hyundai HA06 robot to show the effectiveness of the proposed method over the single point calibration. And also, the resulting robot accuracy is compared with that from 3D laser tracker based calibration to show the dependency of robot accuracy on range of the workspace where the measurement data are collected.

  • Numerous problems in science and engineering defined by nonlinear functional equations can be solved by reducing them to an equivalent fixed point problem. Fixed point theory provides essential tools for solving problems arising in various branches of mathematical analysis, such as split feasibility problems, variational inequality problems, nonlinear optimization problems, equilibrium problems, complementarity problems, selection and matching problems, and problems of proving the existence of solution of integral and differential equations. The theory of fixed is known to find its applications in many fields of science and technology. For instance, the whole world has been profoundly impacted by the novel Coronavirus since 2019 and it is imperative to depict the spread of the coronavirus. Panda et al. [24] applied fractional derivatives to improve the 2019-nCoV/SARS-CoV-2 models, and by means of fixed point theory, existence and uniqueness of solutions of the models were proved. For more information on applications of fixed point theory to real life problems, authors should (see [6, 13, 24] and the references contained in).

  • The purpose of this paper is to estimate the attitude and the position of SPOT satellite which are needed in producing DEM(Digital Elevation Model) using SPOT satellite image pairs. DEM extraction is consists of three parts. First part is the modeling of satellite position and atitude, second part is the matching of two images to find corresponding point of them and third part is to calculate the elevation of each point by using the result of the first and second part. For modeling inaccessible area, extended modeling algorithm which removes the GCP(Ground Control Point) most errorneous from the GCPs extracted from map iteratively is proposed According to the experiments using a collinearity equation, the second order polynomials are shown to the optimal for .omega.(pitch), and Zs parameters while the first order ones for .kappa.(yaw) .PHI.(roll), Xs, and Ys parameters. The input images used in this paper are 6000*6000 level 1A panchromatic digital SPOT images of Chungchong-do, Korea. With 30 GCPs, experiments on SPOT images show that the planimetric and altimetric RMS errors are 7.11m and 7.10m, respectively, for test points.

  • Geomagnetic is refracted by building's wall and pillar. Therefore refracted geomagnetic is able to be used as feature point. In a specific space, a mobile device that is equipped with magnetic sensor array measures 3-axis magnetic field for each point. Magnetic field map is acquired by collecting the every sample point in the magnetic field. The measured magnetic field must be calibrated, because each magnetic sensor has a distortion. For this reason, sensor distortion model and sensor calibration method are proposed in this paper. Magnetic field that is measured by mobile device matches magnetic field map. Result of the matching is used for position estimation. This paper implements hardware system for position estimation method using magnetic field map.

  • The paper presents implementation of a PV fuzzy logic power tracking controller. Using maximum power point tracker with the intermediate converter can increase the system efficiency by matching the PV system to the load. A new fuzzy MPPT is proposed, where fuzzy inputs parameters are dp/dI and the last incremental of duty of duty ratio $L{\delta}D$, and the output is the new incremental value $(new{\delta}D)$ according to the maximum power point under various illumination levels.

  • Navigating an unknown environment is a challenging task for a robot, especially when a large number of obstacles exist and the odometry lacks reliability. Pose tracking allows the robot to determine its location relative to its previous location. The ICP (iterative closest point) has been a powerful method for matching two point clouds and determining the transformation matrix between the maps. However, in a situation where odometry is not available and the robot moves far from its original location, the ICP fails to calculate the exact displacement. In this paper, we suggest a method that is able to match two different point clouds taken a long distance apart. Without using any odometry information, it only exploits the features of corner points containing information on the surroundings. The algorithm is fast enough to run in real time.

  • In this study, self-organized neural network is used to solve the vorrespondence problem of the axial stereo image. Edge points are extracted from a pair of stereo images and then the edge points of rear image are assined to the output nodes of neural network. In the matching process, the two input nodes of neural networks are supplied with the coordi- nates of the edge point selected randomly from the front image. This input data activate optimal output node and its neighbor nodes whose coordinates are thought to be correspondence point for the present input data, and then their weights are allowed to updated. After several iterations of updating, the weights whose coordinates represent rear edge point are converged to the coordinates of the correspondence points in the front image. Because of the feature map properties of self-organized neural network, noise-free and smoothed depth data can be achieved.

  • Motion Estimation/compensation(ME/MC) is one of the efficient interframe ceding techniques for its ability to reduce the high redundancy between successive frames of an image sequence. Calculating the blocking matching takes most of the encoding time. In this paper a new fast block matching algorithm(BMA) is developed for motion estimation and for reduction of the computation time to search motion vectors. The feature of the new algorithm comes from the center-biased checking concept and the trend of pixel movements. At first, Motion Vector(MV) is searched in ${\pm}$1 of search area and then the motion estimation is exploited in the rest block. The ASP and MSE of the proposed search algorithm show good performance.
