  • In this paper, Electromagnetic scattering problem by a perfectly conducting strip grating with 2 dielectric layer on a grounded plane by incidence of a electric wave is analyzed by applying the PMM (Point Matching Method) known as a simple procedure. The scattered electromagnetic fields are expanded in a series of Floquet mode functions. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients and the conducting boundary condition is used for the relationship between the tangential electric field and the electric current density on the strip When the incident angle is normal incidence the minimum value of the geometrically normalized reflected power according as relative permittivity is increased it should be noted that the value of the strip width gets moved toward high value. Them most energy by a normal incident wave is scattered in direction of the other angles except normal incident angle.

  • In this paper, TE(transverse electric) scattering problems by a conductive strip grating between grounded double dielectric layer are analyzed by applying the PMM(point matching method) known as a numerical method of electromagnetic fileld. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients, the scattered electromagnetic fields are expanded in a series of Floquet mode functions, and the conductive boundary condition is applied to analysis of the conductive strip. The numerical results for normalized reflected power are analyzed by according as the width and spacing of conductive strip, the relative permittivity and thickness of the double dielectric layers, and incident angles. The most normalized reflected powers of the sharp variations in minimum values are scattered in direction of the other angles except incident angle. • The addition of different types of polymers such as SBR, VAE, Acrylic, etc. in concrete and mortar leads to an increase in compressive, tensile and bond strength and decrease in permeability of polymer modified mortar (PMM) and concrete (PMC). The improvement in properties such as bond strength and impermeability makes PMM/PMC suitable for use as repair/retrofitting and water proofing material. In the present study effect of addition of fluoropolymer on the strength and permeability properties of mortar has been studied. In the cement mortar different percentages viz. 10, 20 and 30 percent of fluoropolymer by weight of cement was added. It has been observed that on addition of fluoropolymer in mortar the workability of mortar increases. In the present study all specimens were cast keeping the workability constant, i.e., flow value $105{\pm}5mm$, by changing the amount of water content in the mortar suitably. The specimens were cured for two different curing conditions. Firstly, these were cured wet for one day and then cured dry for 27 days. Secondly, specimens were cured wet for 7 days and then cured dry for 21 days. It has been observed that compressive strength and split tensile strength of specimens cured wet for 7 days and then cured dry for 21 days is 7-13 percent and 12-15 percent, respectively, higher than specimens cured one day dry and 27 days wet. The sorptivity of fluoropolymer modified mortar decreases by 88.56% and 91% for curing condtion one and two, respectively. However, It has been observed that on addition of 10 percent fluoropolymer both compressive and tensile strength decreases, but with the increase in percentage addition from 10 to 20 and 30 percent both the strengths starts increasing and becomes equal to that of the control specimen at 30 percent for both the curing conditions. It is further observed that percentage decrease in strength for second curing condition is relatively less as compared to the first curing condition. However, for both the curing conditions chloride ion permeability of polymer modified mortar becomes very low.

Generally, in the case of numerical analysis except for reflection and transmission power in free space, as the dielectric constants of the double dielectric layer increases, the reflected power increases and the transmitted power decreases relatively, respectively. The numerical results for the presented structure of this paper having a grounded double dielectric layer are shown in good agreement compared to those of the existing papers.

The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients and the resistive boundary condition is used for the relationship between the tangential magnetic field and the induced surface current density on the resistive strip. • Data for model analysis derived from the finite volume (fv) GCM (Goddard Earth Observing System Ver. 4, GEOS-4) and the Land Data Assimilation System (LDAS) have been utilized in a mesoscale model. These data are tested to provide initial conditions and lateral boundary forcings to the Purdue Mesoscale Model (PMM) for a case study of the Midwestern flood that took place from 21-23 May 1998. The simulated results with fvGCM and LDAS soil moisture and temperature data are compared with that of ECMWF reanalysis. The initial conditions of the land surface provided by fvGCM/LDAS show significant differences in both soil moisture and ground temperature when compared to ECMWF control run, which results in a much different atmospheric state in the Planetary Boundary Layer (PBL). The simulation result shows that significant changes to the forecasted weather system occur due to the surface initial conditions, especially for the precipitation and temperature over the land. In comparing precipitation, moisture budgets, and surface energy, not only do the intensity and the location of precipitation over the Midwestern U.S. coincide better when running fvGCM/LDAS, but also the temperature forecast agrees better when compared to ECMWF reanalysis data. However, the precipitation over the Rocky Mountains is too large due to the cumulus parameterization scheme used in the PMM. The RMS errors and biases of fvGCM/LDAS are smaller than the control run and show statistical significance supporting the conclusion that the use of LDAS improves the precipitation and temperature forecast in the case of the Midwestern flood. The same method can be applied to Korea and simulations will be carried out as more LDAS data becomes available.
