  • Nowadays Climate disasters are frequently happening due to occasional occurrences of EI Nino and La Nina events and among them, water shortage is one of the serious problems. To cope with this problem, climate model simulations can give very helpful information. To utilize the climate model for enhancing the water resources planning techniques, probabilistic measures of the effectiveness of global climate model (GCM) simulations of an indicator variable for discriminating high versus low regional observations of a target variable are proposed in this study. The objective of this study is to present the various analysis methods to find the suitable application methods of GCM information for Korean water resources planning. The basic formulation uses the significance probability of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for detecting differences between two variables. The various methods for adopting correct association, changing the window size, discrimination condition, and the use of temporally down scaled data were proposed to find out the suitable way for Korean water resources planning.

Learning the Covariance Dynamics of a Large-Scale Environment for Informative Path Planning of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Sensors

  • This work addresses problems regarding trajectory planning for unmanned aerial vehicle sensors. Such sensors are used for taking measurements of large nonlinear systems. The sensor investigations presented here entails methods for improving estimations and predictions of large nonlinear systems. Thoroughly understanding the global system state typically requires probabilistic state estimation. Thus, in order to meet this requirement, the goal is to find trajectories such that the measurements along each trajectory minimize the expected error of the predicted state of the system. The considerable nonlinearity of the dynamics governing these systems necessitates the use of computationally costly Monte-Carlo estimation techniques, which are needed to update the state distribution over time. This computational burden renders planning to be infeasible since the search process must calculate the covariance of the posterior state estimate for each candidate path. To resolve this challenge, this work proposes to replace the computationally intensive numerical prediction process with an approximate covariance dynamics model learned using a nonlinear time-series regression. The use of autoregressive time-series featuring a regularized least squares algorithm facilitates the learning of accurate and efficient parametric models. The learned covariance dynamics are demonstrated to outperform other approximation strategies, such as linearization and partial ensemble propagation, when used for trajectory optimization, in terms of accuracy and speed, with examples of simplified weather forecasting.

  • The Necessity of extending the local library become inevitable because of the swift increasing the volume of information and enlarging the accessibility and increasing the requirements approached to the latest information, caused by continuous development of communication techniques.   • Recently, as a part of measures against large-scale natural disasters in Korea, disaster prevention matters are strengthened in urban planning. With the introduction of the disaster vulnerability analysis system, plans for disaster prevention are being reinforced in urban planning. However, there are many problems to be solved at the stage of operation and practical application of the law. When disasters occur, we are focusing on response and recovery plans. Therefore, it is not enough to construct a comprehensive disaster prevention system to prevent disasters in advance. The established disaster prevention plan is difficult to plan management centered on disaster prevention due to factors such as economic efficiency, convenience, and comfort. This study is a basic study for supporting disaster prevention mitigation plan. For this purpose, the analysis of the actual situation of disaster prevention plan at home and abroad and improvement plan were derived. ased on these improvement plans, we have developed a method to apply the element technology of urban design to the test bed to reduce sediment disaster. The test bed was investigated and examined in the disaster hazard area of Busan and Seongnam city. And the defense technology is applied to the selected site, and the basis of the disaster prevention plan and design is proposed. If the proven techniques are reflected from the urban planning stage, it will be possible to contribute to the mitigation of sediment disaster caused by the city.

  • 임업 내에서 산림휴양(山林休養)의 중요성이 최근들어 인식되어지고 있고 앞으로도 빠른 속도로 고조되리라 예상된다. 국가차원에서 산림휴양 계획/개발의 효율성 증진을 위해 전산정보기술(電算情報技術)의 도입이 시급히 요구된다. 대단위 지역의 공간적(空間的) 관련성이 부여된 다양한 자료를 관리 및 분석할 수 있는 지리정보체계(地理情報體系)(GIS)가 위의 요구를 충족할 대안으로 부각된다. 이 글은 GIS의 개념, 구성요소, 및 계획을 위한 예를 제시함으로 적용가능성을 보이고자 한다. 산림휴양 계획을 위한 적절한 정보체계의 개발에 응용가능한 GIS와 기타 관련 데이타베이스의 통합정보체계(統合情報體系)의 구조도 제안된다.

국내 경관계획 관련지침 및 계획내용 분석 (Analysis of Guidelines and Content of Visual Landscape Planning in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 경관법 제정 이후 경관법에 의한 경관계획 관련지침과 경관계획의 내용을 분석하여 경관계획 진행사항과 문제점을 파악하고, 이에 대한 개선방안을 제안하고자 하였다. 경관계획의 특정을 살펴보기 위해 경관계획 수립 시 기초가 되는 경관계획수립지침과 경관계획보고서를 비교 분석하였다. 경관계획수립지침 분석은 실제 경관계획을 수립한 전문가를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 중요도-성취도 분석기법을 활용하여 각 단계별 지침 내용의 유효성과 현실적용 정도 등을 분석하였다. 경관계획보고서 분석은 법정계획으로 기본경관계획이 이미 수립된 자치단체 중 광역시, 시, 군별로 각 2곳을 선정하여 총 6개의 경관계획 보고서를 경관계획수립지침을 기준으로 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 경관자원조사 및 분석단계는 가장 체계화된 틀로 진행되고 있었으나, 지나치게 세분화되어 실제 경관계획 시 도움이 되지 못하고 있는 부분이 있었다. 반면, 경관구조분석은 경관구조분석에 대한 다양한 접근방법과 기법 등의 구체적 방안 제시가 필요한 것으로 파악되었다. 경관기본구상단계는 기존의 현황조사 결과와 상위계획 등을 반영하여 지역특성에 맞는 지자체 아이엔티티의 확립이 필요하며, 경관계획수립지침에서도 보다 구체적인 지침이 필요한 것으로 파악되었다. 경관기본계획단계는 지자체 간의 수준의 차이가 가장 큰 것으로 나타나서, 경관계획수립지침에서 계획 내용에 대한 구체적인 지침이 필요한 것으로 보인다. 경관계획수립지침 상 경관자원조사 및 분석단계에서는 '경관자원조사 종합 및 과제도출'과 기본경관계획단계의 '조망점 계획'이 추가되는 것이 필요한 것으로 판단된다.

Clinical Application of Gamma Knife Dose Verification Method in Multiple Brain Tumors : Modified Variable Ellipsoid Modeling Technique

  • Objective : The Leksell Gamma Knife$^{(R)}$ (LGK) is based on a single-fraction high dose treatment strategy. Therefore, independent verification of the Leksell GammaPlan$^{(R)}$ (LGP) is important for ensuring patient safety and minimizing the risk of treatment errors. Although several verification techniques have been previously developed and reported, no method has ever been tested statistically on multiple LGK target treatments. The purpose of this study was to perform and to evaluate the accuracy of a verification method (modified variable ellipsoid modeling technique, MVEMT) for multiple target treatments. Methods : A total of 500 locations in 10 consecutive patients with multiple brain tumor targets were included in this study. We compared the data from an LGP planning system and MVEMT in terms of dose at random points, maximal dose points, and target volumes. All data was analyzed by t-test and the Bland-Altman plot, which are statistical methods used to compare two different measurement techniques. Results : No statistical difference in dose at the 500 random points was observed between LGP and MVEMT. Differences in maximal dose ranged from -2.4% to 6.1%. An average distance of 1.6 mm between the maximal dose points was observed when comparing the two methods. Conclusion : Statistical analyses demonstrated that MVEMT was in excellent agreement with LGP when planning for radiosurgery involving multiple target treatments. MVEMT is a useful, independent tool for planning multiple target treatment that provides statistically identical data to that produced by LGP. Findings from the present study indicate that MVEMT can be used as a reference dose verification system for multiple tumors.

  • According to the increase of organizational complexity and the change of rapid information technology environment, many firms have shifted their information technology(IT) strategy from developing information systems in-house to purchasing application software such as Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) Systems. Marketing and Sales functions within a Korean automotive part company include developing new assembly products, determining pricing, taking customer's orders, and shipping assembly products to customers. Marketing and Sales Information System(MSIS) in ERP system plays an important role in next Production Planning process. MSIS also makes management reporting and decision making faster and more uniform throughout an organization. MSIS promotes thinking about corporate goals, as opposed to thinking only about the goals of a single department or functional area. This paper intends to design and implement a MSIS in ERP systems for Korean automotive part company using object-oriented methodology In order to accomplish the implementation of MSIS in ERP system, we employed UML as its standard modeling language. In this study, four diagramming techniques such as use case diagram, sequence diagram, class diagram, component diagram among eight modeling techniques are used for analyzing hierarchical business process. In traditional marketing and sales function, a company with an unintegrated information system can have marketing and sales data that is data redundant or inaccurate. MSIS integrated in ERP system can solve the sales forecast problem, which minimizes the total costs of production, inventory, and transportation under constraints of production capacity. Also, the use of UML methodology makes S/W programmers shorten the phase of analysis and design in the implementation of MSIS system, and increase the reuse of software and the interoperability with corporate internal Information system.

Variation of optimization techniques for high dose rate brachytherapy in cervical cancer treatment

  • High dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy treatment planning usually involves optimization methods to deliver uniform dose to the target volume and minimize dose to the healthy tissues. Four optimizations were used to evaluate the high-risk clinical target volume (HRCTV) coverage and organ at risk (OAR). Dose-volume histogram (DVH) and dosimetric parameters were analyzed and evaluated. Better coverage was achieved with PGO (mean CI = 0.95), but there were no significant mean CI differences than GrO (p = 0.03322). Mean EQD2 doses to HRCTV (D90) were also superior for PGO with no significant mean EQD2 doses than GrO (p = 0.9410). The mean EQD2 doses to bladder, rectum, and sigmoid were significantly higher for NO plan than PO, GrO, and PGO. PO significantly reduced the mean EQD2 doses to bladder, rectum, and sigmoid but compromising the conformity index to HRCTV. PGO was superior in conformity index (CI) and mean EQD2 doses to HRCTV compared with the GrO plan but not statistically significant. The mean EQD2 doses to the rectum by PGO plan slightly exceeded the limit from ABS recommendation (mean EQD2 dose = 78.08 Gy EQD2). However, PGO can shorten the treatment planning process without compromising the CI and keeping the OARs dose below the tolerance limit.

저영향 개발(LID) 확대 적용을 위한 공간·환경 계획 관련 법·제도 평가 및 개선방향 (Evaluation and Improvement Directions of Laws and Regulations Related to Space and Environmental Planning Toward Extended Application of LID in Korea)

  • 도시의 물 순환 회복을 위해 국외 도시에서 적용되고 있는 저영향개발(Low Impact Development, LID)을 국내에 적용하기 위해 관련 법 제도의 개선 필요성이 높아지고 있다. 따라서 본 논문의 목적은 국내 LID의 효율적 적용을 위해 외국에서 운영하고 있는 공간 환경계획 관련 법 제도적 현황을 분석한 후 시사점을 정리하고, 이에 근거하여 LID를 지원하는 법 제도가 갖추어야할 요소들을 도출하고, 도출된 요소들을 기반으로 LID 적용을 위해 국내 공간 환경계획 관련 법 제도를 평가한 후 공간계획 관련 법 제도 개선방향을 제시하는 것이다. LID 적용을 위한 공간 환경계획 관련 법 제도 평가 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 공간계획 관련 법 제도에서는 LID의 개념 및 기본원칙, LID 계획의 수립 및 연계 방법 등이 반영되지 않고 있다. 이러한 문제는 공간계획 전반에 걸쳐 LID를 비롯한 환경계획 내용을 반영하지 않는데 기인한다. 둘째, 환경계획 관련 법 제도에서는 법 제도의 시행 배경과 환경적 특성에 따라 LID의 개념 및 대상을 다르게 정의하였고, LID를 제고하기 위한 정책 대안들도 다르게 제시되고 있다. 위 평가결과에 기초한 관련 법 제도의 개선방향은 다음과 같다. 첫째, LID의 확대 적용을 지원하는 법을 제정할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 공간계획 관련 법 제도는 제정되는 LID 법에 근거하여 그 법, 시행령, 지침 등에 LID 계획을 연계하여야 한다. 셋째, LID의 구조적 비구조적 기법이 제공하는 환경적 편익이 정량적으로 분석되어야 한다.
