Design of Power Plane for Suppressing Spurious Resonances in High Speed PCBs

  • This paper presents a new power plane design method incorporating a single geometry derived from a unit cell of photonic bandgap(PBG) structure. This method yields constantly wide suppression of parallel plate resonances from 0.9 GHz to 4.2 GHz and is very efficient to eliminate PCB resonances in a specified frequency region to provide effective suppression of simultaneous switching noise(SSN). It is shown that with only two cells the propagation of unwanted high frequency signals is effectively suppressed, while it could provide continuous return signal path. The measured results agree very well with theoretically predicted ones, and confirm that proposed method is effective for reducing EMI, with measured near-field distribution. The proposed topology is suitable for design of high speed digital system.

Numerical analysis of the receding contact problem of two bonded layers resting on an elastic half plane

  • The present study deals with the numerical analysis of the symmetric contact problem of two bonded layers resting on an elastic half plane compressed with a rigid punch. In this context, Finite Element Method (FEM) based software called ANSYS and ABAQUS are used. It is assumed that the elastic layers have different elastic constants and heights and the external load is applied to the upper elastic layer by means of a rigid stamp. The problem is solved under the assumptions that the contact between two elastic layers, and between the rigid stamp are frictionless, the effect of gravity force is neglected. To validate the constructed model and obtained results a comparison is performed with the analytical results in literature. The numerical results for normal stresses and shear stresses are obtained for various parameters of load, material and geometry and are tabulated and illustrated.

Computational electromechanical approach for stability/instability of smart system actuated with piezoelectric NEMS

  • In this research, the size-dependent impact of an embedded piezoelectric nanoplate subjected to in-plane loading on free vibration characteristic is studied. The foundation is two-parameter viscoelastic. The nonlocal elasticity is employed in order to capture the influence of size of the plate. By utilizing Hamilton's principle as well as the first- order shear deformation theory, the governing equation and boundary conditions are achieved. Then, using Navier method the equations associated with the free vibration of a plate constructed piezoelectric material under in-plane loads are solved analytically. The presented formulation and solution procedure are validated using other papers. Also, the impacts of nonlocal parameter, mode number, constant of spring, electric potential, and geometry of the nanoplate on the vibrational frequency are examined. As this paper is the first research in which the vibration associated with piezoelectric nanoplate on the basis of FSDT and nonlocal elasticity is investigated analytically, this results can be used in future investigation in this area.

면외변위 측정을 위한 홀로그래피 간섭게에서 발산빔과 원통표면에 대한 오차해석 (The Analysis on the Error of Diverging Beam and Cylindrical Surface in Holographic Interferometer for Measuring out-of-plane Displacement.)

  • Holographic interferometry is a useful whole-field nondestructive tesing method for measuring deformations and vibrations of engineering structure. In practical way most holographic interferometer uses a diverging beam, a point light source. When an oject is relatively small, the optical arrangement using a collimated light source has no difficulty technically but for a large object the collimated beam connot be applied anymore practically. In this paper we calculate the error of measured displacement from the sensi- tivity vector dominated by the geometry of optical arrangement for holographic interferometer and show the result with 2-D plots. A plane surface and a cylindrical surface were chosen as objects to be measured and the results from the cases of a diverging and a collimated beams were compared and analyzed.

미분구적법(DQM)을 이용한 곡선보의 내평면 비신장 및 신장 진동해석 (In-Plane Inextensional and Extensional Vibration Analysis of Curved Beams Using DQM)

  • 편미분방정식 해를 위한 효율적인 방법 중의 하나는 미분구적법이다. 이방법은 복잡한 구조 및 하중에 따른 컴퓨터 용량의 과도한 사용뿐만 아니라, 컴퓨터 프로그래밍의 복합알고리즘 해석상의 어려움 피하기 위해 많은 분야에 적용되어왔다. 아크축의 비신장 및 신장을 고려한 곡선보의 내평면 진동을, 미분구적법 (DQM)을 이용하여 해석하였다. 다양한 경계조건과 열림각에 따른 진동수을 계산하였다. DQM의 해석결과는, 비교 가능한 정확한 수학적 해법을 다른 수치해석결과와 비교하였다. DQM은 적은 격자점을 사용하고도 정확한 해석을 보여주었고, 다양한 변화에 따른 새로운 결과를 제시하였다.

Multiple unequal cracks between an FGM orthotropic layer and an orthotropic substrate under mixed mode concentrated loads

  • In the present paper, multiple interface cracks between a functionally graded orthotropic coating and an orthotropic half-plane substrate under concentrated loading are considered by means of the distribution dislocation technique (DDT). With the use of integration of Fourier transform the problem is reduced to a system of Cauchy-type singular integral equations which are solved numerically to compute the dislocation density on the surfaces of the cracks. The distribution dislocation is a powerful method to calculate accurate solutions to plane crack problems, especially this method is very good to find SIFs for multiple unequal cracks located at the interface. Hence this technique allows considering any number of interface cracks. The primary objective of this paper is to investigate the effects of the interaction of multiple interface cracks, load location, material orthotropy, nonhomogeneity parameters and geometry parameters on the modes I and II SIFs. Numerical results show that modes I/II SIFs decrease with increasing the nonhomogeneity parameter and the highest magnitude of SIF occurs where distances between the load location and crack tips are minimal.

UNIQUE DECODING OF PLANE AG CODES REVISITED

  • We reformulate an interpolation-based unique decoding algorithm of AG codes, using the theory of Gr$\ddot{o}$bner bases of modules on the coordinate ring of the base curve. The conceptual description of the reformulated algorithm lets us better understand the majority voting procedure, which is central in the interpolation-based unique decoding. Moreover the smaller Gr$\ddot{o}$bner bases imply smaller space and time complexity of the algorithm.

열간분말단조 공정의 열탄소성 유한요소해석 (Thermo-Elasto-Plastic Finite Element Analysis of Powder Hot Forging)

  • A finite element analysis to solve the coupled thermomechanical problem in the plane strain upsetting of the porous metals was performed. The analysis was formulated using the yield function advanced by Lee and kim and developed using the thermo-elasto-plastic time integration procedure. The density and temperature dependent thermal and mechanical properties of porous metals were considered. The internal heat generation by the plastic deformation and the changing thermal boundary conditions corresponding to the geometry were incorporated in the program. The distributions of the stress, strain, pressure, density and temperature were predicted during the free resting period, deformation period and dwelling period of the forging process.

SHARYGIN TRIANGLES AND ELLIPTIC CURVES

  • The paper is devoted to the description of family of scalene triangles for which the triangle formed by the intersection points of bisectors with opposite sides is isosceles. We call them Sharygin triangles. It turns out that they are parametrized by an open subset of an elliptic curve. Also we prove that there are infinitely many non-similar integer Sharygin triangles.
