  • Purpose: A Pixelated BSGI gamma camera has features to enhance resolution and sensitivity and minimize the distance between detector and organs by narrow FOV. Therefore, it is known as useful device to examine small organs such as thyroid, parathyroid and gall bladder. In general, when we would like to enlarge the size of images and obtain high resolution images by gamma camera in nuclear medicine study, we use pinhole collimator. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the usefulness of Pixelated BSGI gamma camera and to compare to it using pinhole collimator in thyroid scan which is a study of typical small organs. Materials and methods: (1) The evaluation of sensitivity and spatial resolution: We measured sensitivity and spatial resolution of Pixelated BSGI with LEHR collimator and Infinia gamma camera with pinhole collimator. The sensitivity was measured by point source sensitivity test recommended by IAEA. We acquired images considering dead time in BSGI gamma camera for 100 seconds and used $^{99m}TcO4-\;400{\mu}Ci$ line source. (2) The evaluation of thyroid phantom: The thyroid phantom was filled with $^{99m}TcO4-$. After set 300 sec or 100 kcts stop conditions, we acquired images from both pixelated BSGI gamma camera and Infinia gamma camera with LEHR collimator. And we performed all thyroid studies in the same way as current AMC's procedure. Results: (1) the result of sensitivity: As a result, the sensitivity and spatial resolution of pixelated BSGI gamma camera were better than Infinia's. The sensitivities of pixelated BSGI and Infinia gamma camera were $290cps/{\mu}Ci$ and $350cps/{\mu}Ci$ respectively. So, the sensitivity of pixelated BSGI was 1.2 times higher than Infinia's (2) the result of thyroid phantom: Consequently, we confirmed that images of Pixelated BSGI gamma camera were more distinguishable between hot and cold spot compared with Infinia gamma camera. Conclusion: A pixelated BSGI gamma camera is able to shorten the acquisition time. Furthermore, the patients are exposed to radiation less than before by reducing amount of radiopharmaceutical doses. Shortening scan time makes images better by minimizing patient's breath and motion. And also, the distance between organ and detector is minimized because detector of pixelated BSGI gamma camera is small and possible to rotate. When patient cannot move at all, it is useful since device is feasible to move itself. However, although a pixelated BSGI gamma camera has these advantages, the effect of dead time occurs over 2000 cts/s since it was produced only for breast scan. So, there were low concentrations in organ. Therefore, we should consider that it needs to take tests to adjust acquisition time and amount of radiopharmaceutical doses in thyroid scan case with a pixelated BSGI gamma camera.

  • The Purpose of this study was to observe force required to remove some kinds of pin from dentin. The teeth were embedded within a resin cylinder and the occlusal surface was sectioned at a right angle to the axis of the cylinder to expose dentin surface. Thread mate system pin (minim and regular), friction Iocked pin and cemented pin were tested Pin holes were drilled by handpiece and depths of pin holes were tested 1,2 and 3mm. After insertion of the pins into pinhole, tensile loading was performed on the Instron testing machine at the speed of 0.5 inch/min. Results were follewed: 1. In retention, the cemented pins are the least, the friction locked pins intermediate and the self threading pins the greatest in all pins. In self threading pins, regalar pin has greater retention than minim pin 2. The deeper the depth of the pin hole is, the more the retention of the pin increases.

  • We present an analytic solution to the projector pose estimation problem for the pinhole projection model in which the source image is a centered rectangle with an unknown aspect ratio. From a single quadrilateral given as a target image, our solution gives the position and orientation of a projector as well as the aspect ratio of a source image. The proposed method decomposes the problem into two pose estimation problems of coupled line projectors aligned at each diagonal of the given quadrilateral and then computes the common solution that satisfies the relevant geometric constraints. The solution is formulated as simple analytic equations. We also provide a determinant of projectability of an arbitrary quadrilateral.

  • 3D object recognition is difficult but important in computer vision. The important thing is to understand about the relationship between a geometric structure in three dimensions and its image projection. Most 3D recognition systems construct models either manually or by training the pose and orientation of the objects. But both approaches are not satisfactory. In this paper, we focus on a commercial CAD model as a third type of model building for vision. The models are expressed in Initial Graphics Exchanges Specification(IGES) output and reconstructed in a pinhole camera coordinate.

  • In this paper we deal with visual servoing that can control a robot arm with a camera using information of images only, without estimating 3D position and rotation of the robot arm. Here it is assumed that the robot arm is calibrated and the camera is uncalibrated. We use a pinhole camera model as the camera one. The essential notion can be show, that is, epipolar geometry, epipole, epipolar equation, and epipolar constrain. These play an important role in designing visual servoing. For easy understanding of the proposed method we first show a design in case of the calibrated camera. The design is constructed by 4 steps and the directional motion of the robot arm is fixed only to a constant direction. This means that an estimated epipole denotes the direction, to which the robot arm translates in 3D space, on the image plane.

  • We report the first spectroscopic evidence of the jet-cooled p-chloro-${\alpha}$-methylbenzyl radical. The visible vibronic emission spectrum was recorded from the corona discharge of precursor p-chloro-ethylbenzene seeded in a large amount of inert carrier gas helium using a pinhole-type glass nozzle coupled with a technique of corona excited supersonic expansion. From the comparison with the vibronic spectrum of the p-chlorobenzyl radical, we identified the evidence of formation of the jet-cooled p-chloro-${\alpha}$-methylbenzyl radical in the corona discharge of precursor p-chloro-ethylbenzene.

  • A landmark tracking system(LTS) has been developed for use in locating objects in a manufacturing environment. The Landmark Tracking System is an integrated system which consists of a grey scale CCD camera, an image processor, an illumination system based on electronic flash, and software intended primarily for tracking retroreflective landmarks. The term "integreated" means that the camera electronics and the strobe electronics are directly linked to the computer system, governed by the same clock and under direct software control. A novel element in the LTS is that a pinhole is used for the optics.he optics.

  • Inkjet printing is commonly used in the controlled deposition of solutions of functional materials in specific locations on a substrate, and it can provide easy and fast deposition of polymer films over a large area. which could become a way to manufacturer low cost solar cells. In the present study, inkjet printing technology is adopted to deposit functional layers of PEDOT/PSS solutions and P3HT/PCBM blends for organic solar cell. The results show that merging of separately deposited ink droplets into a continuous, pinhole-free organic thin film could be achieved by a balance between ink property and substrate treatment. As a result, a power conversion efficiency of 2.0% has been accomplished a solar cells applying inkjet technology.

  • The vibronically well-resolved emission spectrum was recorded from the corona discharge of precursor 2,3,4-trifluorotoluene in a corona excited supersonic expansion with a pinhole-type glass nozzle using a long-path monochromator in the visible region. From the analysis of the observed spectrum, we found the evidence of the presence of the difluorobenzyl radicals in the corona discharge of the precursor. A possible mechanism is proposed for the formation of difluorobenzyl radicals in the gas phase on the basis of the observed emission intensity of the difluorobenzyl radicals produced.
