수직 광폴리머를 이용한 VA-1/4$\pi$셀의 전기 광학 특성 (Electro-optical Characteristics of in the Vertical-Alignment 1/4$\pi$ Cell Using Homeotroopic Photopolymer)

  • The electro-optical (EO) performance in the vertical-alignment (VA) - 1/4$\pi$ cell photoaligned with polarized UV exposure on a homeotropic photopolymer surfaces was investigated. Excellent voltage-transmittance curve in the VA - 1/4$\pi$ cell photoaligned with polarized UV exposure for 3 min on the photopolymer containing cholesteryl group of 8% can be achieved. The V-T characteristics in the VA-1/4$\pi$ cell photoaligned on the photopolymer surface can be improved by increasing cholesteryl group. For response time measurement, the transmittance characteristics of the VA-1/4$\pi$ cell photopolymer surface was better than that of the VA-1/4$\pi$ cell rubbingaligned on a polyimide(PI) surface.

  • 정확한 $\pi$값의 계산은 자연과학의 여러 분야에 도움을 준다 이와 같이 $\pi$값을 계산하는 여러 가지 방법이 제안되어 있으며 널리 사용되고 있으나, 본 논문에서는 MPI 라이브러리를 활용한 $\pi$값 계산의 병렬화 알고리즘을 소개한다. tan$^{-1}$($\chi$)의 정의를 이용하는 $\pi$값 계산 방법은 다항식의 계산과정에서 각 항(term)들의 종속성으로 인하여 병렬화 수행이 힘든 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 tan$^{-1}$($\chi$)를 맥클로린 수열(Maclaurin Series)을 통하여 다항함수로 표현하고, 병렬화 수행에 적합한 적분형태로 변형한다. 따라서. MPI 환경에서 수행하기 적합한 $\pi$값 계산의 병렬화 알고리즘을 제안하고 8노드 클러스터 환경에서 성능을 비교해본다. 또한, 직렬화된 방법에 대한 성능향상(speedup)을 측정한다.

  • In 1980 and 1983, it was proved that P $D^{2}$-groups are surface groups ([2], [3]). Since then, topologists have been positively studying about P $D^{n}$ -groups (or $D^{n}$ -groups). For example, let a topological space X have a right .pi.-action, where .pi. is a multiplicative group. If each x.memX has an open neighborhood U such that for each u.mem..pi., u.neq.1, U.cap. $U_{u}$ =.phi., this right .pi.-action is said to be proper.   • Twenty-seven monogenic rice lines harboring major resistant gene for blast were screened to analyze their resistance spectrum to Korean blast fungus population using 190 isolates collected from 1985 to 2002. Especially, the monogenic line containing Pi-9 gene was screened using 320 isolates. Based on the monogenic lines-blast isolate interactions, the 27 rice lines were classified into 9 groups. The chinese rice cultivar LTH showed susceptible to all the tested isolates. Those lines IRBLz-Fu, ERBL5-M and IRBL9-W harboring Pi-z, Pi-5, and Pi-9, respectively showed broader spectrum of resistance than those rice lines having Pi-19, Pi-7 etc. Interestingly, the Pi-9 gene(IRBL9-W) showed resistance to most isolates collected before 2000, but it showed susceptible reactions to 5% and 20% of blast fungus population in 2001 and 2002, respectively. Population of virulent isolates to Pi-ta, Pi-b, and Pi-7 also were increased in 2002 compared to those before 2000.

Pi2 Pulsations During Extremely Quiet Geomagnetic Condition: Van Allen Probe Observations

  • A ultra low frequency (ULF) wave, Pi2, has been reported to occur during periods of extremely quiet magnetospheric and solar wind conditions. And no statistical study on the Pi2 has been performed during extremely quiet conditions, using satellite observations to the author's knowledge. Also Pi2 pulsations in the space fluxgate magnetometers near perigee failed to attract scientist's attention previously. In this paper, Pi2 pulsations detected by the Van Allen probe satellites (VAP-A & VAP-B) were investigated statistically. During the period from October 2012 to December 2014, ninety six Pi2 events were identified using VAP when Kp = 0 while using Kakioka (KAK, L = 1.23) as a reference ground station. Seventy five events had high coherence between VAP-Bz and H components at KAK station. As a result, it was found that 77 % of the events had power spectra between 5 and 12 mHz, which differs from the regular Pi2 band range of from 6.7 to 25 mHz. In addition, it was shown that it is possible to observe Pi2 pulsations from space fluxgate magnetometers near perigee. Twenty two clean Pi2 pulsations were found where L < 4 and four examples of Pi2 oscillations at different L shells are presented in this paper.

Comparative Analysis of Integer-order and Fractional-order Proportional Integral Speed Controllers for Induction Motor Drive Systems

  • Linear proportional-integral (PI) controllers are an attractive choice for controlling the speed of induction machines because of their simplicity and ease of implementation. Fractional-order PI (FO-PI) controllers, however, perform better than PI controllers because of their nonlinear nature and the underlying iso-damping property of fractional-order operators. In this work, an FO-PI controller based on the proposed first-order plus dead-time induction motor model and integer-order (IO) controllers, such as Ziegler-Nichols PI, Cohen-Coon PI, and a PI controller tuned via trial-and-error method, is designed. Simulation and experimental investigation on an indirect field-oriented induction motor drive system proves that the proposed FO-PI controller has better speed tracking, lesser settling time, better disturbance rejection, and lower speed tracking error compared with linear IO-PI controllers. Our experimental study also validates that the FO-PI controller maximizes the torque per ampere output of the induction machine and can effectively control the motor at low speed, in field-weakening regions, and under detuned conditions.

  • The outer-most electrons of metal atoms and the remining valence electrons of any molecular atoms make three dimensional crystallizing $\pi$-bondings. The electrons on the $\pi$-bonding orbital rotate clockwise or counter-clockwise and they then make electro-magnetic waves between atoms on the orbital because electron move between plus charged ions. The three dimensional crystallizing $\pi$-bonding orbitals are quantum-mechanically modeled by a cyclic Kronig-Penny Model and energy band structures are analyzed with their potential barrier thickness. The waves generated between plus charged ions are the particular $\pi$-far infrared rays, which have dual properties between material and electro-magnetic waves and can be measured not by modern electro-magnetic tester but biosensor such as finger's force tester. Because the $\pi$-rays can be modulated with electro-magnetic waves it can be applied for harmful electro-magnetic wave killers. Because the $\pi$-rays make new three dimensional crystallizing $\pi$-bonding orbitals in the material the food and drink can be transformed into a helpful physical constitutional property for human health. Distinction between crystalline and amorphous metals is possible because very strong crystalline $\pi$-bonding orbitals can not easily be transformed into another. The $\pi$-rays can also be applied for biofunctional diagnostics and therapy. Gravitational field is one of the electro-magnetic fields.   • 본 연구에서는 플랜트의 잡음, 부하, 및 변경된 파라미터를 제어하는 퍼지 PI+퍼지 D제어기 즉, 일종의 강인한 제어 시스템을 고려하고자 한다. 차분 방정식에 대하여 PI+D제어기를 적용하였으며 PI+D제어기의 PID 파라미터에 대응 입력에 대한 퍼지 제어기를 계획하고 따라서 파라미터 변화에 따른 환경 변화에 강인한 제어 시스템을 설계하였다. 퍼지제어는 편리한 4가지 규칙과 멥버쉽 함수를 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 3상의 유도 모터 제어에 대하여 퍼지 PI+퍼지 D제어기를 설계하고 그 성능을 검증하였다.

  • 시클로로펜타디엔과 메틸기로 치환된 알렌의 산 및 에스테르간의 (4+2)고리화반응에서 입체 선택성을 $\pi$-비결합상호작용($\pi$-NBI)을 적용하여 고찰하였다. 열반응에서는 diene(LUMO)-dienophile (HOMO)만을 고려한 2-FMO방법이, 산촉매반응에서는 diene (HOMO)-dienophile (LUMO)상호작용만을 고려한 2-FMO방법이 이들의 입체선택성의 결정에 중요하였다. cumulated diene계의 친디엔체에서 메틸 치환기는 알렌구조와 through-bond 상호작용에 의해 $\pi$-isoconjugate diene 구조를 형성하여 컨쥬게이션기로 작용하며 FMO의 에너지에 narrowing effect를 주고 있으나 이같은 $\pi$-isoconjugated diene 구조를 만들 수 없는 친디엔체에서는 메틸기가 단순히 전자주는기로 작용한다. 열반응에서 입체선택성은 에틸렌 분자와 마찬가지로 메틸 치환기의 $\pi$-비결합 2차궤도 상호작용($\pi$-NSOI)에 의해서 좌우되었다.

폐암 환자에서의 폐엽절제술 전후의 혈청 Alpha 1-Proteinase Inhibitor의 변화 (Pre- and Postoperative Changes of Serum Levels of Slpha 1-proteinase Inhibitor in Patients with Bronchogenic Cancer)

  • Malignancy is one of the several exogenous and endogenous factors that increase serum alpha 1-PI. In fact, serum levels of alpha 1-PI were significantly elevated in the patients with the nonresectable bronchogenic cancer. the purpose of this work was to determine if the immediate postoperative change of serum alpha 1-PI level following tumor resection relates to the patient`s postoperative course. Clinical experimental study was carried out to investigate the postoperative changes of serum alpha 1-PI level following operation for 20 cases of bronchogenic cancer and 10 cases of control, nephrectomy patients Alpha 1-PI concentrations in serum was quantitated by use of radial immunodiffusion technique.The results were as follows ; Preoperative serum level of alpha 1-PI was significantly elevated in patients with bronchogenic cancers [p < 0.001 , when compared to normal control levels. Immediate postoperative serum alpha 1-PI level was significantly increased in patients with bronchogenic cancer [p < 0.05 , but slightly decreased at control groups. The peak serum level of alpha 1-PI was the postoperative three days, and then gradually decreased at the 5, 9, 14 days, but slightly elevated comparing to preoperative alpha 1-PI levels. Serum alpha 1-PI level in patients with adenocarcinoma was elevated, when compared to squamous cell carcinoma, but not significantly. According to the stages of the bronchogenic cancer, each levels of the serum alpha 1-PI were slightly different, but the whole postoperative changes were the general similarity. There were no significant difference in changes of the serum alpha 1-PI level, according to the operative procedures. As the alpha 1-PI is acute reactant, that it was required at the reoperative state of the bronchogenic cancer and rapid response, consumption or requirement were occurred, postoperatively. Therefore, alpha 1-PI can be perioperative indicator for the evaluation of the bronchogenic cancer.
