In this study, the stability analyses for metal mine roadways at a great depth were performed. In-situ stress measurements using hydrofracturing, numerous laboratory tests for rock cores and GSI & RMR classifications were conducted in order to find the physical properties of both intact rock and in-situ rock mass distributed in the studied metal mine. Through the scenario analysis and probabilistic assessment on the results of rock mass classification, the in-situ ground conditions of mine roadways were divided into the best, the average and the worst cases, respectively. The roadway stabilities corresponding to the respective conditions were assessed by way of the elasto-plastic analysis. In addition, the appropriate roadway shapes and the support patterns were examined through the numerical analyses considering the blast damaged zone around roadway. It was finally shown to be necessary to reduce the radius of roadway roof curvature and/or to install the crown reinforcement in order to enhance the stability of studied mine roadways.

In order to analyze combustion characteristics of methane-oxygen diffusion flame in a model combustor, combustion experiments were carried out under various spray conditions of propellant scrutinizing combustion stability limit and flame shapes. As the propellant approached the theoretical equivalence ratio condition, a stable detached flame was observed even under high oxygen Reynolds number. And the length of the visible flame increased and the lift-off distance of the flame exhibited a tendency toward decrease. Due to the swirl effect of the propellant by the swirl-coaxial injector, a wide and short flame was produced. Thus, it may be appropriate to employ the swirl-coaxial injector in thrusters having a limited physical dimension.
The bed change analysis near the opening gate of a dam or weir to release deposited sediments have been conducted mostly using the numerical models. However, the use of unverified input parameters in the numerical model is able to produce the different results with natural and real conditions. Also, the bed changes near the opening gate of a dam or weir calculated with a numerical model could be varied depending on the geometry extent included the downstream area with supercritical flow in the model. In addition, the different time steps could provide different results in the bed change calculation, even though other conditions such as input parameters, geometries, and total simulation time were same. Therefore, in this study, hydraulic experiments were performed to validate the eddy viscosity coefficient which is the one of important input parameters in the RMA2 model and relevant to variation of simulation results. The bed changes were calculated using the SED2D model based on flow results calculated in the RMA2 model with the verified and selected eddy viscosity coefficient and also compared with experimental results. The bed changes near the opening gate were underestimated in the numerical model comparing with experimental results except only the numerical case without the modeling section of sediment release pipe and downstream area where the supercritical flow was produced. For the simulation of minimum time steps, different shapes of scour hole were produced in numerical and physical modeling.
This study focuses on the Russian Constructivist Textile Design in the post-revolutionary period, of the early 20th century. Russian textile of the time is highly valued in the west in terms of innovative changes in aesthetic directions, which has become one of the most important centers for the development of new textiles, or the origin of industrial design. Most of brilliant mass-production patterns were produced specially by the pioneers of constructivists such as Stepanova and Popova who were influenced by 'Maxism' through the Revolution regarded themselves as productivists for the proletariat. They were inspired by the avant-garde movements, which were involved with traditionalism, futuristic mechanism, stylization of nature, pure geometrical and abstract form. Early textile design was based on the relationship between the graphic methods of design and the technology because they regarded art as physical, intellectual and technical production. They created all the excitement made from the primary simplest forms of precise mathmatical shapes, such as the circle, the triangle, the rectangle and horizontle and vertical lines. These geometric design can be interpreted as the mechanization of the artists'labor, or methods in line with the technology of mass production, however partly roots in the rich tradition of Russian decorative art. On the other hand, stable crystalline construction on the surface reflect urban architectural complex, and the world of industry in graphic form. They were interested in illusion of movement, cinematic movement of vertical linear rhythms, optical formations and vibrations, by composing a multi-leveled constructions by several spatial planes, or color-field, and combining structures of several intersecting matrices, and superimposing parts of the forms on each other. All these characteristics of the Russian textile designs reflect the complex interactions between 'art and society' of Constructivist's idea and represent the traits of the epoch.
This study was designed to analyze the three-dimensional shapes of Hanbok Chima made with various fabrics and to clarify the relationship between fabric properties as well as the objective and subjective evaluations of the 3D shape. For 3D shape data, a dress form (9A2 (N; nude)) was scanned with eight Chima garments made with the same number of fabrics. The scanner used was a non-contact three-dimensional human body measuring system belonging to Bunka Women's University in Japan. Data concerning the objective evaluation of the 3D shape was obtained from the measurements of the vertical and horizontal sections: those for subjective evaluation were through the sensory test after exposure to photographs from a front and side view. Four fabric factors were extracted from fabric physical properties: softness, extension, thickness of threads, and weight of fabric. Such factors as expansion (volume), sag of rear train, shape of nodes were influential in explaining the 3D shape of Hanbok Chima. From the analysis of the 3D shape, it can be deduced that with the constituent fabric stiffer, lighter, and less stretchable, the more expanded the 3D shape appeared to be. Multiple regression results showed that vertical shape factors have a greater effect on the evaluation of the 3D shape. It also implies that dependent variables of this study such as the subjective evaluation and 3D shape can be derived from regression equations on independent variables as fabric property factors or 3D shape factors. These results can enable the manufacturers to predict the 3D shape of the garment as well as the human subjective assessment to improve the efficacy of production. The investigation method proposed in this study can also be applicable to other garment items.
The regional bio-wastes available in abundance in India were converted into porous carbon by heat treatment at different temperatures from $650-950^{\circ}C$. The wood retain shapes after pyrolysis though shrinkage occured both in axial and radial directions. The shrinkage in radial direction was found to be more than in axial direction in all woods. The density of woods and chars from these at a given temperature has been found to follow linear relationship. Chars were steam activated at temperature $700-800^{\circ}C$ for different times between 45-240 min. Both the temperature and time of activation with steam has a profound effect on surface area. Chars from softwoods like bagasse and castor oil plant were activated at lower temperature, i.e. $700-750^{\circ}C$ whereas hard wood chars have to be activated at higher temperature around $800^{\circ}C$. The morphology of wood as well as of chars has been studied by SEM. The comparison of the two showed that the nature of porosity in chars depends on precursor morphology, nature and physical state of wood and presence of inorganic compounds in the wood. Hard wood results in cross inter connected pores while softwood leads to fibriller structure. The present studies show that activated carbon with reasonably good surface area (${\sim}1000m^2/gm$) can be prepared from soft wood bio-wastes like bagasse and castor oil plant, while surface area ${\sim}1370m^2/gm$ was achieved from hard wood bio waste of pine wood.

The objective of this study is to review the expressive effect of fashion illustrations and to enlarge its expressive range by analysing the correlations between fashion illustrations and surrealistic expressive characteristics. The results are as follows. The surrealistic expressive methods of fashion illustration such as depaysement and automatism have been used by many foreign and domestic fashion illustrators. I think that these methods reinforce the subjective aspect of expressive effects and enlarge the transmitting function of fashion message. The elements of expression are divided into color, texture, shape/form and space. Subjective colors rather than natural colors are used for the surrealistic expressive effect of color in fashion illustrations, and illusion of space is expressed by the change of brightness. The surrealistic expressive effect in fashion illustrations distorted the experience of factual texture and disturbed the visual texture. The use of tactile texture presented strange effects perspectively. The objects of shape in fashion illustrations were mainly human body. The form of human body presents reconstituted and reinterpreted figure by transformation or distortion according to the intention of the artist rather than realistic and physical form. In fashion illustration, the transformation of the human body itself whose body parts get separated, superposition of exterior material and human body, and the distortion of human body by the change are done. Space is where background and shapes are inter-penetrated because they are ambiguous and untransparent, and where all are in disorder and unbalance. The method of projection uses distance perspective, multiple perspective and amplified perspective representation, and forms a psychological space feeling. And I think the use of surrealistic expressive methods are very useful for the subjective sensitiveness and the transmission of a fashion message, and presents a possibility to develop a new expressive method.

Urinary Incontinence is any leakage of urine against their will. It is not a life threatening illness but it causes negative effects both socially and psychologically. Based on many previous studies, 20-40% of adult female and 30% of men in their sixties have experienced symptoms of urinary incontinence. As the number of active aged people experiencing the symptoms increases, demand for specialized product is growing. The purpose of the study is to research the types and features of male disposable products for urinary incontinence on the market and to provide the basic data for improvement and development of better product. Products from 6 brands (Tena, Depend, Carnation, Keepers, Molimed, Abrimen) with high brand awareness both in online and offline were selected and analyzed. And product evaluation was carried out by male in their sixties with light symptom of urinary incontinence. The results are as follows. There are three types of male products for urinary incontinence: panties, diaper and pad. Among the 6 brands, the subject of analysis, only Depend from Yuhan Kimberly produces male panties while others make ones for unisex. There is no diaper product only for male, and Tena, Molimed, Abrimen have pad type products for male. Male panties from Depend emphasizes their design considering male's physical characteristics. Male pad is differentiated with female one by having different designs like triangular or pocket type which is more comforting to men. As a result of product evaluation, wearable panties similar to normal underwear were highly appreciated and satisfactory. Among various shapes of pads, 25cm long pad with wide width of front and narrow back was valued to be comfortable.
We present [Fe II] 1.64 ${\mu}m$ imaging observations for jets and outflows from young stellar objects over the northern part (-24'${\times}$45') of the Carina Nebula, a typical evolved massive star forming region. The observations were performed with IRIS2 of Anglo-Autralian Telescope and the seeing was -1.5". Several jets and outflows features are detected at seven different regions, and one new Herbig-Haro Object is identified. The [Fe II] features have knotty and elongated shapes, and distribute around the triangular area formed by the star clusters Tr 14, Tr 15, and Tr 16, which contain many massive stars. The [Fe II] feature shows a highest detection rate (3.2 %) for the earliest stage YSOs, and the rate decreases as the stage evolves. The low detection rate (1.5 %) of [Fe II] features from the numerous YSOs seem to be related with the severe radiation environment of the Carina Nebula. The outflow rate shows reasonable relations with the physical parameters of the corresponding YSOs-derived from the SED fitting-such as the accretion luminosity, the stellar mass, the stellar age, the disk accretion rate, etc.
Visual language is 'a form of communication without text'. Visual language is one of the strongest methods to spread knowledge. Uniforms could be interpreted as a symbolic language that establishes order in this complicated modern society by placing identity and responsibility on each members of various different organizations. In light of the above, the purpose of this research paper will be to analyze police uniforms of U.S.A, Great Britain, Italy, France and Korea as a form of visual language and interpreting them in terms of visual design in order to understand the fundamental ideas behind the designs and the effective applications thereof. Upon analysis of traffic police uniforms of each individual county mentioned above by separating each uniform's distinctive design, pattern, color, material and decoration based on visual factor, three characteristics of authority, dynamic functionality and friendliness were derived from comparing and analyzing each country's distinctive uniform design. The traditional unique role of police in our society was to maintain social order as their nature inherently possesses characteristic of authority and preservation, but has since undergone transition in many countries to appeal to the broader public by incorporating friendliness and dynamic functionality. Analyzing police uniforms in terms of visual linguistic sense requires a much more profound process of understanding beyond simple interpretation of configurative shapes. In conclusion, the true purpose of uniforms is to include and portray images of mankind's desire toward expressing ideas like 'mankind's bias toward existence beyond theirselves and the exercise of force through authority' and materializing such ideas into a physical form.
