Effect of silver (Ag) deposition before physical developer to develop latent fingerprints on wet paper (젖은 종이류에서 잠재지문을 현출하기 위한 physical developer 전 은 (Ag) 증착의 효과)

  • Latent fingerprints on wet paper cannot be developed using amino acid reaction reagents. Therefore, physical developer (PD) or lipid staining reagents like oil red O (ORO) should be utilized. However, ORO is not very effective in developing fingerprints that are older than approximately 4 weeks. On the other hand, PD performs well in developing older fingerprints, but it cannot do so for relatively fresh fingerprints. Additionally, PD has the disadvantage of taking a long time to develop fingerprints. In this study, in order to overcome the limitations of PD, we attempted to increase its reactivity by applying Ag-PD, which involves depositing silver onto paper using vacuum metal deposition (VMD), and compared this with fingerprints developed using ORO and PD. As a result, Ag-PD showed superior fingerprint development compared to ORO and PD on wet paper stored for 2~8 weeks, and the fingerprint development time for PD was significantly reduced to 90~150 seconds.

Identifying the potential target substance of physical developer (PD) for reagent reliability test and a study on storage period of TWEEN® 20 based PD working solution (Physical Developer(PD)의 신뢰성 테스트(reagent reliability test)를 위한 타겟물질 탐색과 TWEEN® 20 기반 PD 작업용액의 보관기간에 관한 연구)

  • Physical developer (PD) is an effective technique that can develop fingerprints even on wet or very old paper. However, it has not been known which substance reacts with PD. Also, the timing of optimization according to the storage period of the PD working solution has not been known. The present research has done a spot test with 7 eccrine components and 5 sebaceous components that known as fingerprint components and figured out the mixture of palmitic acid and lysine gave the strongest positive reaction. Also, paper treated with PD was treated in 1,2-indanedione/zinc (1,2-IND/Zn) working solution and showed lysine was not dissolved in water. To find out the timing of optimization according to the storage period of the TWEEN® 20 based PD working solution, the mixture of palmitic acid and lysine was used for the target of reagent reliability test. As the result, working solution of 14 days storage period showed better result than other working solutions.

  • In this paper, we present the model-based autonomic computing framework for a cyber-physical system which provides a self-management and a self-adaptation characteristics. A development process using this framework consists of two phases: a design phase in which a developer models faults, normal status constrains, and goals of the CPS, and an operational phase in which an autonomic computing engine operates monitor-analysis-plan-execute(MAPE) cycle for managed resources of the CPS. We design a hierachical architecture for autonomic computing engines and adopt the Model Reference Adaptive Control(MRAC) as a basic feedback loop model to separate goals and resource management. According to the GroundVehicle example, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the framework.

A Developer Support Tool for Efficient Testing of IoT Applications (IoT 애플리케이션의 효율적인 테스팅을 위한 개발자 지원 도구)

  • We propose TITAN (Tool for IoT ApplicatioN testing), a developer support tool that enables efficient testing of IoT applications. TITAN is designed to allow IoT application developers to run their applications under the development environment without being restricted by physical environments and users' behaviors required to test application logic being developed. Using TITAN, IoT application developers can save the time and effort needed to repeatedly perform the testing of application logic while they develop their applications. In this paper, we present the system architecture of TITAN and its current prototype implementation. We evaluate the usefulness and usability of TITAN through a small user study with two example IoT applications. The study participants show their positive perception about the usefulness of TITAN. We further discuss the limitations of the current study and future research directions.

A Study on Characteristics of Determining Factor of Rental Price of Apartment by Sub-regions in Seoul (서울시 아파트 전세가격 결정요인의 권역별 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to find the determining factors for apartment rental prices by using Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis. In the process, differences among the groups and multicollinearity and correlation between the variables are examined using analysis of variance(ANOVA), correlation analysis and factor analysis. The comprehensive analysis of reliability of the variable and comprehensivization ensure objectivity. For this analysis, the characteristics of the determining factors for apartment rental prices by sub-regions in Seoul are as follows : First, the housing supply rate appears center of the central and the southwest region is influenced by the cultural and ecological environment, convenience, the size of the complex and reputation of the developer. Second, the northeast region is generally influenced by the regional economy, housing size, the density of the complex, well-known construction companies and relevant variables of individual housing and the density of the complex, physical and social environment, reputation of the developer, local economy and housing size. Lastly, the southeast region appears to be influenced by the local economy, the density of the complex, housing size and the educational environment.

  • A multibody system dynamics analysis program is presented using one of the most useful programming methodologies, the object-oriented modeling, The object-oriented modeling defines a problem from the physical world as an abstract object. The object becomes encapsulated with the data and method, Analysis is performed using the object's interface, It is then possible for the user and the developer to modify and upgrade the program without having particular knowledge of the analysis program, The method presented in this paper has several advantages, Since the mechanical components of the multi-body system are converted into the class, the modification, exchange, distribution and reuse of classes are increased. It becomes easier to employ a new analysis method and interface with other S/W and H/W systems, Information can be communicated to each object through messaging. This makes the modeling of new classes easier using the inheritance, When developing a S/W for the computer simulation of a physical system, it is reasonable to use object-oriented modeling.

Possibility and Challenge of Using Internet for International Exchange - Focused on Korean Students' Views -

  • International exchange implementing the Internet began inevitably due to the pandemic, but it provided Digital Nomads with new experiences in their lives using the Internet. This study the possibility and challenge of international exchange implementing the Internet identified. To this end, we explored its strengths and weaknesses through interviews and descriptions of students who participated in international exchange. As a result, we identified that students were positive in the diverse aspects of communication tools and ways, whereas they were negative because they felt difficulties in the physical environment, inaccessible physical conditions especially. They were also negative in the emotional exchange, an ice-breaking which needed much more time than offline exchange. Therefore, we identified in the case of designing or conducting student activities implementing the Internet, including international exchange, the possibility of activities implementing the Internet could be much more extended if their developer various programs considered in the introduction step.

An Importance Analysis of National Competency Standard for 4-year College Information Systems Development Curriculum (국가직무능력표준(NCS)의 4년제대학 정보시스템개발 교육과정을 위한 중요도분석연구)

  • The Purpose of this Study is to Identify the Learning Modules of the National Competency Standard (NCS) Related to the Information Systems Development Curriculum of 4-year Colleges, to Explore the Possibility of Applying NCS to the Curriculum, and to Examine Implications. The Importance of 26 Competency Units in the Applied SW Engineering of NCS was Compared by Area Experts Composed of 14 Information Systems Developers and Professors of 7 Universities who Teach Software Engineering Subjects Through the Hierarchical Analysis Process (AHP). The Results of the Study as Follows. First, the Relative Importance of the Competency Elements was in order of 'Confirming the Requirements', 'Checking the UI Requirements', 'Designing the Physical Data Repository', 'Testing Developer Integration', and 'Fixing Developer Defects'. Second, while the Entry and Intermediate Level Developer Group Determined that the Competency Elements Related to the IS Development Implementation Stage is more Important, the Advanced IS Developer Groups Consider the Competency Elements Related to the Theory-oriented Design Stage as Important Competency. In Addition, the Group of College Professors was Found to Choose all the Practical and Theoretical Competency Elements that Two Developers Groups Considered Important. Implications of the Study Suggested that the Job Performance Competence and Quality of Education Related to IS Development can be Enhanced.

A Proposal of Quality Assessment for System Model

  • Recently, the increased complexity of systems has made systems engineering necessary. It is very useful for system designers to understand the whole context of the concerned system based on systems engineering. A system model can be used to describe the outcome of a system design. A system model describes the system from the viewpoint of the stakeholder's needs using the mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustive principle. A system model can be used to smoothly design a large and complicated system based on the systems engineering development process. Many companies and countries are attempting to apply model-based systems engineering, and the significance of the system model quality is increasing as system models are referenced during system development. In this paper, we propose a quality assessment method for ontology which is one of system models by focusing on the system development process. First, in this process, a system developer should explicitly show the relationship between viewpoints. Then, the system developer should select dependent rather than independent viewpoints. With dependent viewpoints, each viewpoint used to describe the system has some logical relationship. The set of viewpoints makes it possible to show, not only tangible and physical system parts, but also conceptual system parts. In this paper, we develop an ontological system model of a Japanese weather observation system. By comparing some ontological system models, we verify the effectiveness of explicitly describing the relationships between viewpoints and select dependent viewpoints.

CAD Data Exchange among Different Commercial Packages (이 기종 시스템간의 CAD 데이터 교환)

  • This research was about implementing STEP for data exchange among different commercial package(CAD system). STEP was used to share CAD data as follows. ST-Developer implement Solid model was used with a physical file of STEP and represented in a CAD system. And then STEP conversion utility was used to make a neutrality format form in a component modeling. Analysis of Solid model was made possible for CAD system to read in and analyzed Solid model. This research are summarized as follows 1. A basis Model development used Visual C++ for a neutrality data of a programming interface general-use CAD system, and produced Box and Cylinder to a physical file, the result was implemented this in a programming interface to general-use CAD system, it is represented in CAD system as identical one modeling object. 2. STEP was used in different CAD system to utilize to its of each CAD system maximum, CATIA V5R9 user was able to analyze MDT 6 Modeling Arm. 3. STEP was used able to interpret and remodel the existing Solid model.
