  • In this paper, we present the design and measurement of a collinear dipole array (CDA) operating in the 2.4 GHz ISM band. The array is consisted of six collinear dipoles joined by phasing coils. A cmmercial software is used to design the antenna with an optimum performance. The designed array is fabricated and is measured to confirm the design.

  • A method to determine the optimum drafts of waveboards of single and double-flap wavemaker is presented by using a linearized first-order wave theory and a linear regression method. A linear regression is verified to be quite simpler than the local disturbance consideration or regular-wave forming distance. It is pointed out that lower hinge should be deep enough to keep the upper flap vertical for a long wave length.

신호교차로의 신호현시 구성기법에 관한 연구 (Phasing and Sequencing Design Techniques at a Signalized Intersection)

  • 신호교차로 운영 최적화를 위한 4가지 변수인 주기, 현시순서, 현시녹색시간, 옵셋 중에서 지금 지 정형화된 지침이 없이 전문가의 경험이나 휴리스틱한 규칙(Heuristic rule)에 의해 결정되었던 현시순서에 대해 다양한 교통조건을 고려하여 최적현시와 지체변화를 분석하였다. 교통조건은 독립/연동교차로, 교차로 기하구조, 비혼잡/혼잡상태, 통과교통량에 대한 좌회전 교통량비(LT/Thru)에 따라 Dual ring에서 구현가능한 모든 현시순서를 대상으로 최적현시를 도출하였다. 분석과정에서 비혼잡상태의 경우 LT/Thru가 작을수록 직진 중첩 동시신호가 가장 우수하게 나왔으며, LT/Thru가 크게 증가할수록 선행양방향좌회전이 양호하게 나타났다. 혼잡상태의 경우는 LT/Thru 15%에서 공통적으로 최적현시가 변하였는데 이는 포화도와 이동류별 녹색시간비율이 크게 변하면서 급작스런 주기 증가에 기인한 것으로 판단되었다. 또한 독립교차로 및 연동교차로 현시순서 분석 결과를 보면 전반적으로 선행양방좌회전 현시와 직진 중첩 동시신호 현시가 가장 양호한 것으로 나타났으며, 양방 동시신호 현시는 대체로 지체가 높게 나타나 신호운영에 비효율적인 것을 다시 한번 입증하게 되었다. 특히 연동교차로에서는 연동에 중요한 요소인 옵셋과 진행대폭(bandwidth)의 상호관계를 탄력적으로 대응할 수 있는 직진 중첩 동시신호가 최적현시로 나타났다. 본 연구는 검지기가 설치되지 않은 고정식 신호기로 운영되는 지방부 및 도시 가로망의 교통류 효율성을 높이는 중요한 자료로 사용될 것으로 판단된다. 최근에는 실시간 교통신호 제어시스템이 활발히 연구. 운영되고 있는데 이 시스템 내에 포함되어 있는 TOD방식의 고정시간 제어(pretimed control)나 패턴선택제어(pattern selection control)에도 충분히 활용할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

  • An ammonia fuel system is developed and applied to both a spark ignition engine and a compression ignition engine to use ammonia as primary fuel in this study. Ammonia is injected separately into the intake manifold in liquid phase while gasoline or diesel is also injected as secondary fuel. As ammonia burns 1/6 time slower than gasoline or diesel, the spark or diesel injection timing is needed to be advanced to have better combustion phasing. The test engine showed quite high variation in the power output with large amount of ammonia. The final goal of the study is to implement a methodology to ignite ammonia-air mixture and have complete combustion without any use of the conventional fuels.

  • This paper describes a theoretical and exprimental investigation of the pressure - time histories of some basic internal combustion engine exhaust systems. The program package is utilized the method of characteristics to solve the general equations of one - dimensional unsteady gas flow. This analysis is then combined with boundary models, based on quasi - steady flow approach, to give a complete treatment of the flow behavior in the exhaust system. Using a rotary valve exhaust simulator, experimental pressure - time histories were obtained. The predictions are com¬pared with measured results and show a high degree of correlation in amplitude and phasing.

  • 인간 유전자의 SNP 서열 정보를 통해 하플로타입을 추정하는 하플로타입 페이징은 생명공학분야에서 중요한 연구분야이다. 최근에는 SNP 데이터가 많아짐에 따라 많은 하플로타입 페이징 알고리즘들이 제시되었다. 본 논문에서는 SNP 데이터의 오류로 인한 하플로타입 페이징의 한계점과 이를 해결하기 위한 품질정보의 사용에 관한 문제점을 언급한 후 이와 관련된 실험을 통해 품질정보가 하플로타입 페이징의 결과에 미치는 영향을 알아본다. 실험은 기존의 하플로타입 페이징 알고리즘을 사용하여 품질정보의 사용 유무에 따라 하플로타입 페이징 결과를 비교하는 과정으로 진행되었다. 실험 결과 하플로타입 페이징에 과정에서 품질정보를 사용하는 것은 품질정보를 사용하지 않았을 때 보다 좋은 결과를 보여주었다.

  • In this paper, we propose an enhanced usage parameter control algorithm, which is one of the preventive traffic control method in ATM networks and implemented it with VLSI Proposed algorithm is based on the cell loss priority bit in the ATM cell header. This algorithm can solve the measurement phasing problem in cell conformance testing in ATM networks. Proposed algorithm can minimize the cell loss ratio of high priority cell(CLP=0) and resolve the burstiness of cells which may be introduced in traffic multiplexing and demultiplexing procedure. The result of performance evaluation shows that the performance of proposed algorithm is better than that of ITU-T usage parameter control algorithm.

  • HCCI engines have mainly focused on achieving low temperature combustion in order to obtain higher efficiency and lower emission. One of practical difficulties in HCCI combustion is to control the start of combustion and subsequent combustion phasing. The choice of primary reference fuels in HCCI strategy is one of various promising solutions to make HCCI combustion ignition-controlled. The behavior of ignition delay to the frequency variation of sinusoidal velocity oscillation is computationally investigated under HCCI conditions of PRF75 using a reduced chemistry in a counterflow configuration. The second-stage ignition is more delayed as the higher frequency is imposed on nozzle velocity fluctuation whereas the first-stage ignition is not much influenced.

  • An accurate prediction of the satellite ground track is essential to optimise the maneuver design. It requres a prediction model that considers all perturflations that cause significant variations in the satellite ground track. We developed a prediction model that includes the effects of the fifth-order zonal harmonics, atmospheric drag, and luni-solar gravitational perturbations. Luni-solar gravity perturbations have been obtained in an ether way which is different from the method we used in previous paper(Yi and Choi, 1992). In this case, we consrtuct our own disturbing fuction including inclination term by the Algebraic Manipulation. Luni-solar perturbations reduce the maneuver magnitude required to offset eastward ground track drift due to drag, the amount dependent on current luni-solar phasing geometry.

  • Conventional solvent-based polyurethane (PU) is well established for wide applications, such as textile treatments, surface coating, adhesive and so on. Due to the demands of safety, economic, and environmental protection, the solvent-based PU is restricted and has been phasing out and aqueous-based PU is becoming the world market trend, which is an environmental friendly product. The chemical resistance, physical and mechanical properties of aqueous-based PU are still not competible with solvent-based PU. Because of aqueous-based PU is a linear thermoplastic polymer with lower average molecular weight. Their improvements are normally performed by a post-curing reaction or a polymer hybridization to enhance the polymer cross-linking density. Hybridization of PU with aqueous-based epoxy resin or acrylate emulsion and then cured by a curing agent for improving the performance properties and reducing the cost of aqueous-based PU.Furthermore, a special function is added to aqueous-based PU increasing the application value, for examples, flame retardation, polymeric dyes, hydrophilic and etc.
