Pathogenicity and Polyhedra Morphology of Spilarctia obliqua Nucleopolyhedrosis Virus

  • Spilarctia obliqua(Wlk.) is a serious pest of mulberry which is naturally affected by its nucleopolyhedrosis virus (SoNPV) in field conditions. The polyhedral occlusion bodies (POB's) were hexahedron under scanning and transmission electron microscope and measured 0.42${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ to 0.67 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in diameter. The symptoms of NPV infected S. obliqua larvae resembled with that of other NPVs' infected lepidopterous larvae. The pathogenicity and potentiality of this virus against S. obliqua was tested in the laboratory conditions and the results showed 100% mortality in larvae inoculated with SoNPV at 6.23${\times}10^5$ POBs/ml. Therefore, SoNPV appears to have a high potential as a microbial biocontrol agent against S. obliqua larvae.

오픈소스 기반의 농작물 유해 야생동물 퇴치 시스템의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Farm Pest Animals Repelling System Based on Open Source)

  • The damages on the crops by the wild animals such as wild boars and water deer are serious in rural areas these days. In this paper, a low-cost and adaptive system based on open source for sensing and repelling farm pest animals is proposed. The system contains the server which is Arduino Due connected with the wireless communication modules such as RF, Zigbee, and WiFi module, speaker, and so on. It also has the sensing modules and LED blinkers which communicates with the server by wireless modules. Once a detecting signal is transmitted to the server. The server is waked up from sleep mode and the repelling subsystems such as loud speaker and LED blinker(s) are activated to scare the unwanted animal away. The total system is managed by Android smartphone easily.

  • According to the research of the cultivation result on the spot farmers for 5 years in order to investigate its cultivation conditions and problems of Lycium chinetrse Mill, the development of the variety with early mature, pest tolerance, and high yielding is urgent and it is call for the development of rooted cutting cultivation by testing of bed soil, growth regulator and cutting times. The development of cultivation method with planting year, planting density, supplementary period and amounts of supplementary of Lycium chinense Mill planted in growing field are required and for the disease and the effective control of disease and insect pest resistance is needed by auxotrophic fertilizing and organic agricultural method, met by agricultural chemicals.

  • 해외에서는 산림에 심각한 피해를 주는 Melanolophia imitata(Walker)가 우리나라에서 처음으로 보고된다. 이 종은 캐나다에서는 침엽수의 해충으로 알려져 있으며 동아시아 지역에서도 대량 발생할 경우 심각한 산림해충으로 예상되는 종이다.
