  • The purpose of this study was to implemented a general purpose programmable nerve stimulator system as a research tool for studying psychophysiological performance associated with various stimulation waveform. This system is composed of hardware and software, the former are the personal computer(180586) and control unit(one-chip microprocessor, D/A converter, digital output), the latter are programmed in VISUAL BASIC and ASSEMBLY Which are programmed for the programmable nerve stimuli pattern editor and communication interface, waveform preprocessing, and stimuli generator. The control unit which is entrolled by the personal computer is capable of delivering the programmable nerve stimuli waveform. This system has research potential for determining the effect of various neuromuscular blockade in alternated physiological stat is.

Wearable Sensor-Based Biometric Gait Classification Algorithm Using WEKA

  • Gait-based classification has gained much interest as a possible authentication method because it incorporate an intrinsic personal signature that is difficult to mimic. The study investigates machine learning techniques to mitigate the natural variations in gait among different subjects. We incorporated several machine learning algorithms into this study using the data mining package called Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analysis (WEKA). WEKA's convenient interface enabled us to apply various sets of machine learning algorithms to understand whether each algorithm can capture certain distinctive gait features. First, we defined 24 gait features by analyzing three-axis acceleration data, and then selectively used them for distinguishing subjects 10 years of age or younger from those aged 20 to 40. We also applied a machine learning voting scheme to improve the accuracy of the classification. The classification accuracy of the proposed system was about 81% on average.

  • Rapid increase in population growth has made the mankind to delve in appropriate identification of individuals through biometrics. Foot Print Recognition System is a new challenging area involved in the Personal recognition that is easy to capture and distinctive. Foot Print has its own dimensions, different in many ways and can be distinguished from one another. The main objective is to provide a novel efficient automated system Segmentation using Foot Print based on structural relations among the features in order to overcome the existing manual method. This system comprises of various statistical computations of various foot print parameters for identifying the factors like Instep-Foot Index, Ball-Foot Index, Heel- Index, Toe- Index etc. The input is naked footprint and the output result to an efficient segmentation system thereby leading to time complexity.

Short-term ICT Training Program for Non-Computer Science Major Teachers in Developing Countries for Improving ICT Teaching Efficacy

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a short-term ICT training course that helps teachers from non-computing disciplines in developing countries acquire flipped-learning content creation skills. A field application is performed by applying the developed ICT training course to secondary school teachers of non-ICT subject specialisms in Laos. In the field study, participating teachers' teaching efficacy on ICT and satisfaction toward the training course are measured. The result of t-test on ICT teaching efficacy showed statistically significant increases in teachers' self-efficacy related to ICT use, both personal efficacy and outcome expectancy. The satisfaction survey performed after training showed that trainees were highly satisfied with the training course. The results of this field study could be used to propose a short-term teacher education model that could be applicable to teachers in other developing countries.

Implementation of the Golf Play Advice System with Reasoning Rules Using Mobile Devices

  • This paper is a study on implementation of the golf play advice system which provides advice to golfers through mobile devices. The system consists of a mobile unit consisting of a GPS receiver, a data transmitter and receiver, and a display unit, and a server unit composed of a database and advice generator. The advice generator that provides advices to the users, generates advices with IF-THEN rule-based reasoning method. The reasoning module utilizes golfer's personal records and various information in the database of the server unit. This system provides the advice to the users who play on the golf course through mobile devices, so that it is possible to provide various information similar to the screen golf using the computer simulating technology in the outdoor golf course.

  • 본 논문은 3차원 레이싱게임을 위한 최근 변화된 게임 개발환경과 그에 따라 달라진 3차원 컴퓨터게임 개발 방법을 모색한다. PC 환경 하에서 게임의 속도구현을 위한 3차원 게임 라이브러리 DirectX의 사용과 윈도우즈 환경 하에서의 게임개발 방법을 고찰함으로써 사용자 게임실행시의 다양한 하드웨어 환경을 지원하고, 유효한 게임실행 속도를 얻을 수 있는 3차원 컴퓨터게임의 개발방법론을 제시하였다.

  • Communication between ECUs (Electronic Control Units) in agricultural machineries tends to use IS011783 widely, that is PGN (Parameter Group Number) based communication protocol lays on CAN protocol by altering its identifier part. Messages in line are transferred and received between ECUs according to ISO11783 standard. This paper discusses about design of wireless monitoring system. We used an ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller embedded development board and marvel8686 wireless module. The wireless ISOBUS monitoring system, attached to communication line, reads messages, interpret them, and display them on the screen in easily comprehendible form. It can be used to generate messages and monitor the traffic on physical bus systems. The monitoring system connected to ECUs, monitor and simulate real traffic of communication and functionality of the ECUs. In order to support our work, we have implemented the monitoring tool. The development consists of two parts: GUI of the application and firmware level programming. Hence the monitoring system is attached to the communication line and equipped by Wi-Fi module; farmer/dispatcher in a farm monitors all messages in communication line on personal computer and smart device.

  • Wearable computer systems use the wireless universal serial bus (WUSB), which refers to USB technology that is merged with WiMedia physical layer and medium access control layer (PHY/MAC) technical specifications. WUSB can be applied to wireless personal area network (WPAN) applications as well as wired USB applications such as PAN. WUSB specifications have defined high-speed connections between a WUSB host and WUSB devices for compatibility with USB 2.0 specifications. In this paper, we focus on an integrated system with a WUSB over an IEEE 802.15.6 wireless body area network (WBAN) for wireless wearable computer systems. Due to the portable and wearable nature of wearable computer systems, the WUSB over IEEE 802.15.6 hierarchical medium access control (MAC) protocol has to support power saving operations and integrate WUSB transactions with WBAN traffic efficiently. In this paper, we propose a low-power hibernation technique (LHT) for WUSB over IEEE 802.15.6 hierarchical MAC to improve its energy efficiency. Simulation results show that the LHT also integrates WUSB transactions and WBAN traffic efficiently while it achieves high energy efficiency.

개인용 센서 기기와 스마트폰의 동적 연동을 위한 센서 식별 기법 (A Sensor Identification Scheme for Dynamic Interworking Between Personal Sensor Devices and a Smartphone)

  • 개인의 건강 및 상태 정보를 모니터링하기 위한 다양한 센서 기기들이 개발되고 있으며, 스마트폰 상에서 동작하는 응용과 연동을 통해 개인화된 정보를 시각화하여 보여주는 서비스들이 등장하고 있다. 이러한 응용들은 유사한 정보를 사용자에게 제공하면서도 표준화되지 않은 패킷 구조로 인해 센서 기기마다 별도의 응용을 설치해야 하는 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 비표준화된 개인용 센서 기기들이 스마트폰과 동적으로 연동될 수 있는 센서 기기 식별 기법을 제안한다. 제안 기법은 센서 기기에 대한 패킷 정보를 서버에 저장하기 때문에 사용하는 센서가 변동되더라도 스마트폰 상에서 동작하는 클라이언트의 변경 없이 응용을 동작할 수 있는 장점이 있다.

PCS 및 IMT-2000용 광대역 PIFA 설계 (Design of Broadband PIFA for PCS and IMT-2000)

  • 본 논문에서는 PCS(Personal Communication Service) 및 IMT-2000(International Mobile Telecommunications - 2000) 단말기용 광대역 PIFA(Planar Inverted-F Antenna)를 설계하였다. 일반적인 PIFA 구조의 단점인 협대역 특성을 개선하기 위하여 dual-L 안테나 구조를 사용하였고, 안테나의 크기를 효율적으로 줄이기 위하여 접힌 구조의 방사 패치를 가지는 변형된 dual-L 안테나를 제안하였다. 설계 제작된 안테나의 -10 ㏈ 대역폭은 1.66∼2.35 ㎓(34.5%)로 PCS 및 IMT-2000 대역을 모두 만족하는 결과를 얻었다. 그리고, 인체 쪽으로의 전자파 흡수율을 알아보기 위해 제안된 안테나와 동일 주파수 대역에서 동작하는 모노폴 안테나를 설계한 후 SAR 값을 비교한 결과, 제안한 안테나의 1 g 및 10 g 평균 첨두 SAR 값은 모노폴 안테나보다 25.7%, 30.3 % 정도 낮게 나타났다.
