  • The various types of data are being created in large quantities resulting from the spread of social media and the mobile popularization. Many companies want to obtain valuable business information through the analysis of these large data. As a result, it is a trend to integrate the big data technologies into the company work. Especially, Hadoop is regarded as the most representative big data technology due to its terabytes of storage capacity, inexpensive construction cost, and fast data processing speed. However, the authentication token system of Hadoop Distributed File System(HDFS) for the user authentication is currently vulnerable to the replay attack and the datanode hacking attack. This can cause that the company secrets or the personal information of customers on HDFS are exposed. In this paper, we analyze the possible security threats to HDFS when tokens or datanodes are exposed to the attackers. Finally, we propose the secure authentication protocol in HDFS based on hash chain.

  • Background: Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women and leading cause of death worldwide, including in Turkey. High perceptions of cancer fatalism are associated with lower rates of participation in screening for breast cancer. This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of breast cancer fatalism and other factors on breast cancer awareness among nursing students in Turkey. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted at three universities in the Western Black Sea region. The sample was composed of 838 nursing students. Data were collected by Personal Information Form, Powe Fatalism Inventory (PFI) and Champion's Health Belief Model Scale (CHBMS). Results: Breast cancer fatalism perception of the students was at a low level. It was determined that students; seriousness perception was moderate, health motivation, BSE benefits and BSE self-efficacy perceptions were high, and BSE barriers and sensitivity perceptions were low. In addition, it was determined that students awareness of breast cancer was affected by breast cancer fatalism, class level, family history of breast cancer, knowledge on BSE, source of information on BSE, frequency of BSE performing, having breast examination by a healthcare professional within the last year and their health beliefs. Conclusions: In promoting breast cancer early diagnosis behaviour, it is recommended to evaluate fatalism perceptions and health beliefs of the students and to arrange training programs for this purpose.

  • Background: Cancer is a primary source of concern in Thailand and other countries around the world, including the Asian-Pacific region. Evidence supports that an important contributing cause of cancer and other chronic illnesses such as stroke, diabetes, and hypertension is excessive alcohol consumption. Studies conducted in Thailand reveal a worrisome rise in the number of new and regular drinkers in communities. Therefore, actions for primary, secondary and tertiary prevention of problem drinking are necessary. In recent years nurses in North East Thailand have been developing and implementing the Khon Kaen Family Health Nursing model to embed disease prevention in communities through the actions of family health nurses and local family health leaders. Aim: The aim of this qualitative research was to better understand the experiences of the local family health leaders using this model and to synthesize lessons learned. Materials and Methods: As part of a participatory action research approach involving analysis of focus group discussions and individual interviews, the experiences of 45 family health leaders were synthesized. Results: Four main themes were identified, namely: i) Family first: role modeling beginning at the personal and family level. ii) Local leverage: using village community forums to reduce alcohol drinking. iii) Gentle growth: making the first step and treading gently; and iv) Respect, Redemption, Rehabilitation: valuing the person to re-integrate them in the village society. Conclusions: As alcohol consumption in the village declined significantly following the prevention program, these findings illuminate how low-tech integrated prevention approaches may be very useful, particularly in rural communities. The lessons learned may have relevance not only in Thailand but in other countries seeking to prevent and mitigate behavior that conduces to diseases such as cancer.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate loneliness in infertile women and determine how loneliness related to personal characteristics, cause of infertility, family composition, and family conflicts. It also provides basic data for nursing strategies concerning infertile women.A total of 182 subjects were selected at an infertile clinic in Seoul, Korea. Data were collected from May 2 to June 21, 1997 by questionaire. It consisted of questions concerning general characteristics, items relating to infertility, and the Loneliness Scale. The UCLA Loneliness scale was used(more specifically, the Korean version of the Revised UCLA Scale by Kim Ok Soo.) The data were analyzed by using SPSS/PC computer program. The result are as follows : 1. The mean age of infertile women was 32.4 years old, and the mean age of souses was 34.8 yerars old. 30.2% of women had a marital duration of 3-5 years, and 25.8% had a marital duration of 5-10 years. 23.1% reported the main etiology of infertility as unexplained, 18.1% reported ovulation disturbances, and 26.4% reported complex causes. 3.8% of the couples had sexual relationship difficulty 83% lived in nuclear families, while 17% lived in large families. 2. The mean loneliness scores of infertile women was 35.53(SD=8.66). The total loneliness score of this study was 80. 3. There were significant differences in loneliness scores according to ages(F=6.893, p=.001), education background(t=4.418, p=.000), and the educational background of husband(t=2.339, p=.020). 4. Loneliness scores related to family situations were significantly different according to several male nephews in husbands' family(F=2.822, p=.027). 5. Loneliness scores related to conflicts were significantly different according to husbands and their family(F=11.465, p=.000). Nurses should acknowlege the fact that some infertile women may experience loneliness. In conclusion, nurses can provide infertile women with information about ways to decrease loneliness and create support groups for themselves, assisting infertile women to adjust to the experience of infertility through positive methods.

  • SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is a signaling protocol to provide IP-based VoIP (Voice over IP) service. However, many security vulnerabilities exist as the SIP protocol utilizes the existing IP based network. The SIP Malformed message attacks may cause malfunction on VoIP services by changing the transmitted SIP header information. Additionally, there are several threats such that an attacker can extract personal information on SIP client system by inserting malicious code into SIP header. Therefore, the alternative measures should be required. In this study, we analyzed the existing research on the SIP anomaly message detection mechanism against SIP attack. And then, we proposed a Co-occurrence based SIP packet analysis mechanism, which has been used on language processing techniques. We proposed a association rule generation and an attack detection technique by using the actual SIP session state. Experimental results showed that the average detection rate was 87% on SIP attacks in case of using the proposed technique.

  • In order to increase the utilization of the computing resources, universities connect a variety of computing resources such as mainframes, workstations, and personal computers via LAN. However, due to management and security reasons, most administrative applications are concentrated on mainframes which is the main cause of large work overload on mainframes for such applications as on-line course registration system where the entire student body must have access to the system during a short period of time. In this study, using a university system as the model and choosing on-line course registration system as the targeted distributed computing. APPC through IBM SNALU 6.2 link is proposed as the most appropriate means of distributed computing for the environment of the model university. In addition, the on-line course registration system is redesigned as client-server model where a mainframe serves as the file server responsible for file input and output and workstations becomes the client. Actual implementation and experiments have shown that the proposed distributed computing system yields a significant reduction in processing time.

  • This thesis investigates 220 female students ranging from 19 to 26 years old attending universities in the Wonju area to determine the correlations between mental health and the density of serum iron . According to their serum iron levels, they were divided into three groups and analyzed with the GARS Scale Assessment and the THI Test Assessment. The results are as follows;1. On the comprehensive GARS Scale tests, for all groups, task, occupation and levels of university-related frustration(1) marked the highest scores.2. On the comparative assessment of each group's GARS Scale scores, Group A showed higher stress perception in terms of personal relationship(2,3) than any orther groups. 3. On the comprehensive THI test scores coverring all groups, Multiple subjective symptoms(I) marked the highest scores. 4. On the comparative assessment of each group's THI test scores, Group A showed higher Multiple subjective symptoms(I) and Irregularities of life(G) than any orther groups.5. Comparing and analyzing the GARS Scale Assessment and the THI Test, we found that Group A showed high stress perception, which may cause psychosomatic diseases such as 'yu zheng(鬱證;melancholia). With those results, we can see that the contant of serum iron is correlated to stress perception and the condition of mental health. In the future studies using the GARS Scale and the THI Test, it will be necessary to examine more subject groups in terms of multi-aspects and to investigate the standard group in more detail.

  • Glaucoma is an eye disease which is caused by abnormal high IOP (Intra Ocular Pressure). High IOP is caused by the aqueous humor which is produced consistently but not drained due to malfunction of the trabecular system which has a role of draining the aqueous humor into the venous system. Currently, there are three methods to treat glaucoma-using medicines, surgical operation, and using implant device. The first and second methods are not long acting, so the use of implants is increasing in these days in order to drain out the aqueous humor compulsory. However, though conventional implants have a capability of pressure regulation, they cannot maintain IOPs desired for different patients, and too much aqueous humor are usually drained, to cause hypotony. To solve these problems, it is needed to develop a new implant which is capable of controling the IOP actively and copes with personal difference of patients. An active glaucoma implant consists of the valve actuator, pressure sensor, controller, and power supply. In this paper, firstly, we make an analysis of the operation of a conventional implant using a bond graph and show defects and limitations of the conventional valve analytically. Secondly, we design and analyze a valve actuator considering actuation principles, resistance elements, control methods, and energy sources focused on power saving problem. Finally, using simulations the possibility of the proposed valve actuator is investigated.

  • Objectives: Acute methanol poisonings known to be typical occupational diseases occurring in developing countries broke out in sub-contract manufacturers in the early 2016. The present paper attempted to identify underlying causes which hide under apparent findings, and suggest alternative policies to prevent recurrence of similar intoxication Methods: We evaluated occupational health and safety characteristics of workers in micro-enterprises similar to workplaces with methanol poisoning by in depth-interview of employers, workers, and labor inspectors, and literature review. Results: The common findings of workplaces with methanol poisoning were addressed; First, the victims were illegal agency workers. Second, the workplaces were sub-contract micro-manufacturers with less than 5 employees. Investigators found that local ventilations did not work, while most of workers did not wear any proper personal respiratory protective equipment in the workplace. In addition, periodic environmental monitoring and medical check-ups were not done. However, these apparent findings do not appear to be root causes of methanol poisoning. Our in depth-analysis clarified a root cause; micro-enterprises with less than 5 employees are exempted with essential regulations of OSH Act, and employers do not know about OSH Act. Conclusions: We suggest occupational health policies to prevent recurrence of similar intoxication; First, government should introduce programs so that all employers should know about employers' responsibilities in OSH Act from the start of business. Second, even manufacturers with less than 5 employees should not be exempted with essential regulations of OSH Act. Finally, employers should take responsibilities for health and safety of all the workers including agency workers working in workplaces.
