  • Purpose: The aim was to verify if changing the Journal of Gastric Cancer (JGC) to only English (starting in December 2010) was successful based on bibliometrics. Materials and Methods: The following indicators were retrieved or calculated from the journal homepage and the Web of Science Core Collection on January 30, 2016: the number of citable articles per year; the number of original articles funded; the national origins of the editorial board members and authors; the total citations; the impact factors; the national origins of authors citing the journal; the source titles of articles citing the journal; and the Hirsch index. Results: From 2011 to 2015, the number of citable articles per year was 40, 41, 39, 39, and 40. The proportion of original articles funded was 39 out of 113 articles (34.5%). The editorial board members were from seven countries. The authors were from 11 countries. The total citations increased from 1 in 2011 to 245 in 2015. From 2013 to 2015, the impact factors (without self-citations) were 1.42, 1.36, and 1.60. In 2014, the value 1.60 corresponded to the ranking of 157 out of 210 oncology journals (74.8%); It was cited from 46 countries. Top-ranking countries of citing authors were China (171), Korea (158), and Japan (75). The number of source titles citing the journal was more than 100. The Hirsch index was 12. Conclusions: The English-only language policy, which started in December 2010, was successful in promoting the JGC to international levels from the perspective of bibliometric analysis.

  • Since the 1960s when paper began to use as a structural material in furniture, design, the way of using paper was dramatically changed. Before the 1960s, paper was used mostly in decorative purposes like paper $mach\acute{e}$. The development of consumer culture in the 1960s created a new trend for paper in design. Paper became a material for dresses and chairs. Also, the types of paper that adapted on furniture varies from cardboard, paper tubes, glassine paper, honeycomb, etc. The variation of the material results to make possible to create a new form. Moreover, paperboard was broadly used in current society in such area that mostly structural based as architecture. Paper gives great opportunity not only to consumers to buy furniture in inexpensive price also to manufacturers to produce furniture and to test market easily, Moreover, paper furniture is mostly fun. Therefore, the creation of paper furniture becomes diverse in terms of design concept. This study explored the characteristics of paper furniture responding to social backgrounds by decade. Relation between types of paper and the characteristics is one of main points in this research. This study covers furniture design from the 1960s to present and mostly focuses on seating furniture where paper used as structural material. Researching on patent records and contemporary periodicals gave me helpful information on details of design process and consumer culture.

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the journal category "oral surgery" in Scopus and in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE). Materials and Methods: The Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (JOMS), The Journal of the Korean Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (JKAOMS), and The Journal of Prosthodontic Research (JPR) were selected from the Scopus list of journals as oral surgery journals. Maxillofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (MPRS) was selected from PubMed as a Scopus oral surgery title. From these titles, 10 recently published articles were collected and used for reference analysis. Results: The percentage of citations from oral surgery journals was 26.7%, 24.5%, and 40.1% for JKAOMS, MPRS, and JOMS, respectively. In total, 1.1% of JPR's citations were from oral surgery journals and significantly fewer from other journals (P<0.001). The percentage of citations from dentistry journals excluding oral surgery journals was 11.9%, 34.4%, and 15.8% for JKAOMS, MPRS, and JOMS, respectively. For JPR, 80.6% of citations were from dentistry journals and significantly more were from other journals (P<0.001). Conclusion: Selected samples revealed that JPR is incorrectly classified as an oral surgery journal in Scopus. In addition, the scientific interaction among JKAOMS, MPRS, and JOMS was different to JPR in the reference analysis.

  • Florence Nightingale is best remembered today as the Lady with the Lamp, but modern research on the English nurse primarily addresses her popular iconography as a historical misrepresentation of her character and career. This scholarly reluctance to analyze critically Nightingalean iconography, however, has obscured important cultural work performed by the popular tropes. This article argues that the proliferation of Nightingale's iconic image as a symbol of Christian womanhood in transatlantic periodical poetry, when examined separately from biographical considerations, reveals important insights into the complex relationship between form and affect in mid-nineteenth periodicals. Popular representations of Nightingale give form to the disorienting effects produced on newspaper readers by the nascent field of international journalism and reflect a key generic paradox at the heart of the Victorian periodical: the simultaneous aim to report news objectively and to move readers affectively in response to events beyond national contexts and interests. Focusing on Lewis Carroll's "The Path of Roses" and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's "Santa Filomena," this article contends that Nightingalean periodical poetry mirrors back to readers their own affective response to modern media and functions as a new technology for managing an increasingly acute awareness of events and ethical responsibilities beyond the nation.

Furthermore, it discusses the possibility that Korean food can be recognized internationally and the research data be available in advance for the people who are going to visit Korea. This study is based on documentary records and empirical studies to analyze and appreciate the effects of customer satisfaction in restaurants that foreigners usually visit. The documentary records are rooted in the related books, papers published in domestic and international associations, academic journals, and various periodicals. According to this research, the attributes of the menu choice in relation to the differences in their purposes has a meaningful influence on the customer satisfaction, so the menu choice of foreign tourists drives their gratification of Korean food. In short, the explanations and ingredients list about items in Korean restaurants need to be improved and explained to increase the number of potential foreign tourists.

  • The classification systems generally used in library are for the external information such as books and periodicals, so it is difficult to apply them to the internal information of specific organization such as documents and records. Therefore, it is necessary for the information centers of any enterprise or specific organization to found the Record Management System (RMS), and to develop and use the specific classification system which is called the coding system for internal information. Documents and components of nuclear power plant are controlled by coding (numbering) system, but they are different each other greatly. So the coordination of work and the cross reference between components and documents are difficult. In this paper, the unified Record Management Coding System is developed for Nuclear Power Plant unit 7 & 8 in Korea on the basis of the existing document and component coding system. The expected effects are the easy cross reference between components and documents, the effective coordination of work and the consistence of central file.

  • Purpose: Infrared thermometers are increasingly used as a convenient, non-invasive assessment method for febrile children. However, the diagnostic accuracy of the infrared thermometer for children has been questioned, particularly in relation to sensitivity and specificity. The aim of this study was to evaluate diagnostic accuracy of infrared thermometers in febrile children. Methods: Articles published between 1966 and 2012 from periodicals indexed in the Ovid Medline, Embase, CINAHL, Cochrane, KoreaMed, NDSL, KERIS and other databases were selected, using the following keywords: 'infrared thermometer'. The QUADAS-II was applied to assess the internal validity of the diagnostic studies. Selected studies were analyzed using meta-analysis with MetaDisc 1.4. Results: Nineteen diagnostic studies with high methodological quality, involving 4,304 children, were included. The results of meta-analysis showed that the pooled sensitivity, specificity and AUC (Area Under the Curve) of infrared tympanic thermometers in children over 1 year were 0.80 (95% CI 0.78, 0.81), 0.94 (95% CI 0.93, 0.95) and 0.95 respectively. However the diagnostic accuracy of infrared tympanic thermometers in children with hyperthermia was low. Conclusion: The diagnostic accuracy of infrared tympanic thermometer was similar to axillary and rectal thermometers indicating a need for further research to substantiate these findings in children with hyperthermia.
