  • This paper presents a performance index-based evaluation for a better quadruped robotic walking configuration. For this purpose, we propose a balance-based performance index that enables to evaluate the walk configuration of quadruped robots in terms of balance. In order to show the effectiveness the proposed performance index, we consider some types of walking configurations for a quadruped robotic walking and analyze the trend of the proposed performance index in those quadrupedal walking. Through the simulation study, it is shown that an effective walk configuration for a quadrupedal walking can be planned by adopting the proposed performance index.

  • This research performed to develop performance index which mean structural performance of wooden architectural heritage. The performance index was presented by using basic investigation result and weighted value of question by using AHP. The basic investigation result was made by using basic investigation question. The initial basic investigation question was started from questions of 25. Correlation analysis performed for survey results of 25 questions and correlation eliminated between questions. Finally, basic investigation questions of 19 was selected. National wooden treasure was used to progress sample survey. To calculate weighted value of question, pairwise comparison and eigenvalue analysis were applied. Finally, performance index was presented for 40 wooden heritages. Performance index generally present high value in the case of having no long time after repair for the all of building. However, the trend line of performance index for all wooden heritage have to present and performance of wooden heritage have to analyze from these results.

  • Performance index is a measure of telecommunications network integrating reliability and capacity simultaneously. This paper suggests a computerized algorithm evaluating a performance index for telecommunications network and compares this computerized algorithm with the algorithm[1] by experimenting on several benchmarks. A computerized algorithm proposed by this paper is superior to the algorithm[1] with respect to the computation time for most of the benchmarks.

  • In this research, customized management performance index for small and medium enterprises in solar energy area was developed. To acquire management performance index, first Delphi technique is applied and secondly, AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) used to give weight to each main index and then final management performance index was achieved. By developing management performance index, top management could manage their company more efficiently.

  • In this paper, we propose a performance index that can compare the position estimation performance according to the time slot allocation order, which is superior in the position estimation performance in the operation of the Link-16 based relative navigation system. In order to verify the validity of the performance index, a software-based Link-16 relative navigation system performance analysis platform composed of a signal generator, a signal reception and navigation algorithm execution unit, and a performance analysis unit was designed. Using the designed software platform, we analyzed the relationship between proposed performance index and position estimation performance according to time slot allocation order in the same position reference (PR) arrangement. The performance index of the proposed time slot allocation is expected to be utilized not only for the Link-16 system, but also for the Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA)-based navigation system.

  • In order to reduce building energy effectively and substantially, it is necessary to manage operation information and energy use record systematically after the completion of the building and maintain efficiency of systems as an optimal condition through commissioning. Ongoing commissioning is important for improving the energy efficiency of air conditioning systems and should be an essential part of building operation and maintenance. In this study, to perform history data based on-going commissioning using BAS data which occurs actually in the building, performance index and algorithm are suggested and its performance is verified using real building. Because it is difficult to identify soft fault, target of FDD in this study is applying to soft fault and faults occurring in building can be categorized into sensor faults and system/components failures. It is found that performance indices like $LMTD_{ev}$, $LMTD_{cd}$, $M_{ref}$, $E_{ffpoly}$, $E_{ffmotor}$, COP have been selected for being physically meaningful and capable of indicating health condition of chiller system through BAS in real building. And, the type of fault occurring in the chiller is varied and its specific logic of fault detection & diagnosis is present and cause of fault deviated from performance index is suggested and fault classifier consisting of rules correlating faults and their impacts on performance index is constructed.

  • Wireless sensors have been developed in numerous ways for enhancing the convenience of installation, management and maintenance of sensors. Energy harvesting wireless sensors, which can collect energy from the external environment for permanent usage without the need of recharging and exchanging batteries, have been developed and employed used in Internet of Things and at various industrial sites. Energy harvesting wireless sensors are significantly affected by the sensor lifespan to sudden variation in the external environment. Furthermore, reduction in the sensor operating timespan can greatly affect the characteristics of the devices connected through a network. In this paper, a system performance index is proposed that can comprehensively evaluate the lifespan of a solar cell wireless sensor, determine the characteristics of devices connected to the associated network, and recommend dynamic power distribution control for improving the system performance index. Improvement in the system performance index was verified by applying the proposed dynamic power distribution control to an air conditioner network system using a solar cell wireless sensor. Obtained results corroborate that the dynamic power distribution control can extend the lifespan of the incorporated wireless sensor and reduce the air conditioner's power consumption.
