Purpose - The study verified the effects of consumers' knowledge perception upon word-of-mouth intention and purchase intention of consumers who were exposed to a lot of information, and examined consumer's behavior from multi-dimensional points of view. Research design, data, and methodology - The study conducted the test of difference between consumer's cognition on importance and satisfaction of HMR product by gap of HMR (Home Meal Replacement) product for IPA analysis. The consumer's reliability and words-of-mouth were measured by the questionnaire method with 4 questions according to Likert 7-point scale. Conversion into z-score removed the difference of variables. Results - The causal relation model for importance, satisfaction and gap, not relying upon multi-dimensional scaling and others, could construct causal relation model to give implications. Difference (d) of the products could lessen consumer's reliability to increase consumer's knowledge perception, word-of-mouth intention, knowledge perception, and purchase intention. Therefore, enterprises should make an effort to lessen consumers' complaint for the products and to elevate consumers' reliability. Enterprises also try to give consumers exact information and to promote purchase intention. Conclusions - Difference (d) of consumers' complaint and/or disappointment decreased consumers' reliability to increase knowledge perception. Enterprises should supply consumers with products according to their requirements to minimize the gap and to give them proper information.
this study was to investigate the perception gap on nursing service between consumers and providers. Method: the questionnaire founded on the SERVQUAL was developed and distributed to 300 patients and 210 nurses at the three subjected general hospitals in three provincial city, Korea during February to March, 2001. For data analysis, Cronbachs' Alpha, frequency, t-test, and paired t-test were used. Result: 1. In the gap analysis on the 20 properties constituting nursing service, providers almost all perceived higher than consumer in quality. Among them, the number of properties being statistically significant was 7 in the expectation, 18 in the important and 7 in the performance. 2. In the comparison analysis of the perception gap on the expectation-performance and the important-performance, it turned out that the subjected hospitals had to improve their equipment and facilities immediately. It was suggested a good strategy to strengthen the responsiveness factor and the assurance factor of nursing service. Conclusion: it could be concluded that nurses have to recognize the blind spot of their perception and endeavor to take away the perception gap between consumers and providers.

Library and information service (LIS) of academic libraries plays an important role in the education and research activities of universities. Such importance of LIS facilitated much research that defines the quality factors constituting LIS and identifies the importance of them. The previous literature, however, has some limitations. The limitations arise from the interrelationship among the quality factors and the perception gap between users and providers on LIS quality factors. Despite the understanding of the interrelationship and the perception gap, LIS studies to deal with both dimesions synthetically are sparse. Therefore, this paper defines the interrelationship among LIS quality factors as a network model, then identifies the perception gap on LIS quality factors by exploiting the analytic network process. As an early stage study, this paper contributes to helping the quality improvement of acedemic LIS by considering the interrelationship among LIS quality factors and the perception gap on the LIS quality factors between LIS users and providers.
The study was examined the multiple mediated effects of maternal self-efficacy and depression between perception gap about paternal involvement and marital conflict for dual-income parents. The data used were the fifth year data of the Panel Study on Korean Children from Korea Institute of Child Care and Education in 2012. The subjects consisted of 449 dual-income parents with more than one child. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, one-way analysis of variance, paired t -test, and correlation. SPSS macro and bootstrapping methods also assessed the mediation effects of maternal self-efficacy and depression between the perception gap about paternal involvement and marital conflict in dual-income parents. The results of this study were as follows. Significant positive correlations were observed for marital conflict, perception gap of dual-income parents about paternal involvement and maternal depression. Perception gaps by parents and self-efficacy were negatively correlated. Perception gaps by parents showed a direct effect on marital conflict. The results of indirect effects of all mediators showed the mediated effect of maternal self-efficacy and depression. The study revealed that the perceptive gap about paternal involvement has a significant impact on maternal self-efficacy and depression, as well as marital conflict. The perceptive gap of dual-income parents about paternal involvement has critical effects on marital conflict as much as the quantity of paternal involvement.
The purpose of this research is to explore the relationship between organizational cultural perception gap and organizational effectiveness. it has rarely been studied in the academia. The research of the organizational cultural perception gap provides entrepreneurs directions on how to manage a company. Since previous studies have been focused on cultural type or strength, this study aims to suggest managerial implication in detail by analyzing present-ideal gap. Furthermore, this study would discover how it is different according to a psychological mechanism. The empirical results of 134 employees showed that the organizational cultural perception gap (i.e. Clan) had a negative effect on job satisfaction and affective commitment. In order to reduce the negative effects of organizational cultural perception gap, it is necessary to reach an agreement with members on organizational culture, which is ideal for organizational level, and understanding the members' internal motivations is important for proper organizational management.
The digital industry area based on digital technology is specialized and rapidly changing. This kind of change lead to a gap of understanding arises between the digital industry and the public. The digital industry is a trend that cannot be reversed, thus efforts to reduce the gap in understanding are necessary for positive social development in the future. This study aimed to find clues to reduce the gap in understanding by measuring the difference in perception between the public and the digital industry. To measure the difference in perception, this study applied the mutual orientation model proposed by McLeod and Chaffee(1973), As a result of the study, both groups agreed that the digital industry would make a positive contribution to the Korean economy in the future. However, it was confirmed that there was a possibility of mutual misunderstanding due to different views on the digital industry.
Korean-American and American adolescents' attitudes toward the elderly(OP Scale) and their perception on the generational difference(GN GAP) were compared to find whether there is a difference according to the race. Adolescents' perceived generational gap was considered to be one of the most influential factor affecting their attitudinal differences. Adolescents regardless of face showed a somewhat positive attitudes toward the elderly and they perceived generational gap a little positively. Adolescents' age and sex were found not to be related with their attitude toward the elderly and generational gap. For the Korean-Americans birth-order was negatively related to the generational gap perception. the quality of relationship with grandparents was the crucial factor influencing adolescents' perceptions on generational gap and their attitudes toward the elderly indirectly. Grandparents' health and age affected on the quality of relationship. This study aims to compare the mutual perception gap on dangerous driving behavior between male and female drivers in multiple aspects, analyze them, and identify factors that trigger this different perception. To understand the mutual perception gap on dangerous driving behavior, DBQ(Driving Behavior Questionnaire) was applied as a rating scale. By applying results into the Co-oreintation model, this study compared the mutual perception gap between male drivers and female drivers and analyze results. In addition, factors that generate the perception gap between both genders were drawn by analyzing factors. This study suggested that objective consistency identified the perception gap that driving behaviors of others were more dangerous between two genders. In addition, subjective consistency was different as both genders assumed that the counterpart's driving behavior takes more risks than their own actual driving behaviors. In regard to the accuracy, men were aware that female driving behaviors are more dangerous than their behaviors. However, female driving behavior assumed by women was consistent with male perception in all factors, which indicated that women perceive men precisely. In addition, results were compared and analyzed in both perspectives of male drivers and female drivers by combining predictive models. Based on these results, both genders perceived that counterpart's driving behavior is more dangerous among both genders.
With the increasing number of migrants from urban to rural areas in Korea, Population inflow policies have helped increase the number of urban-to-rural migrants which has eased the labor shortage in rural areas.. But, there are new problems in rural areas caused by the "perception gap in regard to harmony, awareness, pride and opportunity to meet" between the urban-to-rural migrants and the original residents. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors affecting the harmony between the urban-to-rural migrants and residents. A survey was conducted among 70 people living in Hongseong-gun in Chungcheongnam-do with an aim to come up with proposals for policies that can help resolve these social problems in the mutual understanding of urban-to-rural migrants and original residents. An ordered logit model was used to analyze the effect of the perception gap between the urban-to-rural migrants and the rural residents. The result of the survey showed that most of the urban-to-rural migrants believed that the increase in urban-to-rural migrants did not bring harmony to rural areas because of the perception gap. Based on these results, we concluded that the following three policy alternatives would be needed: first, development of urban-to-rural migrant education programs for relatively young men; second, a policy supporting various forms of community gathering in a rural society; third, diversification of urban-to-rural migrant education programs such as communication program and conflict management program, etc.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of women 's perception of economic risk on the fertility gap. This study analyzed how the economic risks such as the risk of unemployment and poverty, the risk of housing insecurity, the risk of financial instability and the risk of economic downturn affects the gap between the actual number of children and the ideal number of children. For this purpose, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed using the KGSS(Korean General Social Survey) 2014 dataset. The result of the analysis shows that women who perceived economic risk seriously had fewer children but had a higher fertility gap. This study suggested policy suggestions based on the above results.
