퍼지집합이론을 이용한 야간 도로 시인성 평가 (An Analysis of Driver Perception of Nighttime Visibility Using Fuzzy Set Theory)

  • PURPOSES: Nighttime driving is very different from daytime driving because drivers must obtain nighttime sight-distances based on road lights and headlights. Unfortunately, nighttime driving conditions in Korea are far from ideal due to poor lighting and an insufficient number of road lights and inadequate operation and maintenance of delineators. This study is conducted to develop new standards for nighttime road visibility based on experiments of driver perception for nighttime visibility conditions. METHODS : In the study, perception level and satisfaction of nighttime visibility were investigated. A total of 60 drivers participated, including 34 older drivers and 31 young drivers. To evaluate driver perceptions of nighttime road visibility, fuzzy set theory was used because the conventional analysis methods for driver perception are limited in effectiveness for considering the characteristics of perception which are subjective and vague, and are generally expressed in terms of linguistic terminologies rather than numerical parameters. RESULTS : This study found that levels of nighttime visibility, as perceived by drivers, are remarkably similar to their satisfactions in different nighttime driving conditions with a log-function relationship. Older drivers evaluated unambiguously degree of nighttime visibility but evaluations by young drivers regarding it were unclear. CONCLUSIONS : A minimum value of brightness on roads was established as YUX 30, based on final analyzed results. In other words, road lights should be installed and operated to obtain more than YUX 30 brightness for the safety and comfort of nighttime driving.

국내 고시인성 안전의복의 착용 현황 분석 및 시인성 평가를 통한 착용 의무화 제안 (A Proposal for Workers to Mandatorily Wear High-visibility Safety Clothing in Korea through the Analysis of the Current Status and Evaluation of Its Visibility)

  • In roadside workplaces, more attention should be paid to the safety of workers. The roadside workers underestimate the effect of the brightness of their clothes and judge that drivers will recognize them easily, and the drivers misjudge that the roadside workers are far away and that the vehicle can be stopped in sufficient time. Therefore, customized safety education reflecting this and wearing work clothes with certified visibility functions are required. In Korea, it is not compulsory for roadside workers and vehicle guide attendants to wear work clothes with a visibility function. In this study, the distance ahead perceived by drivers was measured using manikins wearing certified and non-certified reflective safety vests. The perception distance of the non-certified reflective safety vest was 1.4 times longer than that of the certified reflective safety vest, thus confirming the importance of wearing a certified reflective safety vest. To prevent roadside workers from suffering traffic accidents, we propose the enactment of a law that makes it mandatory for them to wear high-visibility safety clothing. Specifically, Article 32 of the Enforcement Regulation of the Road Traffic Act should include high-visibility safety clothing in life protection equipment, and additionally, to prevent secondary accidents, we propose the enactment of a law requiring the installation and wearing of certified reflective safety vests in vehicles.

Why Do We Make Impulse Purchases in Live-streaming E-commerce?

  • Purpose - This study explores the causes behind the high rate of impulse purchases in live streaming e-commerce. Design/methodology/approach - The research model is empirically validated with survey data collected from 324 respondents in China, using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) methodology. Findings - We found that the interactivity and visibility of live streaming are key in creating para-social relationships and perceived presence, leading to customers' impulse purchases. Research implications or Originality - This study deepens the understanding of consumers' impulse purchases in live-streaming e-commerce, revealing that para-social relationships and perceived presence developed through real-time interactions can increase impulse buying. It also highlights the differences between relationship-oriented and task-oriented interactions in fostering customers' perceived presence and para-social relationships in live streaming.

모바일게임 플레이 의도의 영향요인 연구 (A Model of User Adoption of Mobile Games)

  • Mobile games have emerged as the most innovative entertainment technology, adding new revenue streams, taking advantage of the potential of wireless applications and service offerings. Mobile games, as well as PC games, Video games and online games, offer a unique value for users in providing an exciting digital experience in virtual worlds. The overall trend for mobile games is towards bigger, more colorful, more involving and exciting contents, which might build upon the developing capabilities of mobile phones and networks, in order to bring new styles, concepts and experiences of game play to the users. In this paper, we investigate the factors influencing the usage and acceptance of the mobile games, based on the extended version of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Based on data collected from online survey, we show that perceived usefulness, ease of use are the major determinants for mobile game users to play games. Four factors, including ease of use, self-expressiveness, visibility, and innovativeness are empirically shown to determine the level of perceived usefulness; additionally, innovativeness and facilitating conditions are shown to directly affect ease of use. Based upon the statistical results, some useful guidelines for game development and market penetration strategies are also provided.

측광 후처리 가공에 의한 유연 광직물의 발광 효과 (Luminescence effects of POF-based Flexible Textile by post-treated Optic illuminate)

  • 광섬유 직물 기반 스마트 의류가 국, 내외로 개발되고 있는 실정이며, 기존의 일반적인 광섬유는 직물화가 어렵고 내구성, 내수성이 결여되어 세탁 및 유지 관리의 한계로 인해 에칭된 광섬유사의 표면에 합성수지를 코팅 처리하는 '내수성 광섬유사 가공 기술'이 최근 개발 되었다. 본 연구에서는 제직 후 측광가공 된 유연 광섬유 직물을 대상으로 광섬유사 길이에 따른 특성과 광원 색채에 따른 발광 특성을 분석, 평가하여 디지털 컬러 의류의 적용 적합성을 파악하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 광섬유사 길이에 따른 총 4가지 유연 광섬유 직물시료를 제직하여, 이를 대상으로 광원 색채에 따른 유연 광섬유 직물의 휘도, 물리적 가시도, 지각적 가시도를 측정함으로써 발광특성을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 10cm인 유연 광섬유 직물과 녹색 광원을 사용한 경우가 최대가시거리 100m로 디지털 컬러 의류 즉, 안전보호 기능의 산악복 적용에 가장 적합한 발광효과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 그러므로 본 연구의 결과는 앞으로 유연 광섬유 직물 적용 의류 개발과 관련된 후속 연구의 자료로서 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • 햇빛 아래에서 디지털 기기에 표시되는 영상은 일반적으로 원본 영상보다 어둡게 인식되어 시인성이 저하된다. 더 나은 시인성을 위해서, 주변광에 적응적인 전역 휘도 보상 혹은 톤 매핑이 필요하다. 하지만 기존의 기법들은 색차 보상에 한계가 존재하고, 무거운 계산 비용 때문에 실제 환경에서 활용하는데 어려움이 존재한다. 이를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 휘도와 색차를 모두 보상하는 Piece-wise Linear Enhancement Curves (PLECs) 기반 영상 개선 기법을 제안한다. 이때, PLECs은 딥러닝을 통해 회귀 되며, lookup table 형식으로 구현되어 실시간 동작이 가능하다. 실험 결과 제안 방법이 낮은 계산 비용으로 원본 영상 대비 더 나은 시인성을 가짐을 보인다

What Explains Smartwatch Adoption? A Compatrative Study of South Korea and Indonesia

  • Identifying factors that influence consumers' intentions to adopt a smartwatch has become a major research interest in marketing literature, yet little is known about it in dissimilar cultural settings. The current research employs a comparative study of South Korea and Indonesia, which differ in location and cultural heritage, smartwatch penetration rate, geographic size, level of income, and developmental stage as a country. An extended model of TAM is proposed, and PLS-SEM is employed to test the model on data collected from 262 respondents. The findings indicate that complementary goods and healthtology have positive influences on perceived usefulness and visibility has a positive influence on social image; these, together with perceived price value, lead to the behavioral intention to adopt a smartwatch in both countries. Perceived cost was only significant for Indonesia. Theoretical contributions and practical implications are further discussed.

웨어러블 헬스케어 디바이스 고객이 인지하는 지각된 가치, 가격, 혁신 특성이 구매 태도 및 고객 만족도에 미치는 영향 연구 (A study on the effect of perceived value, price and innovation characteristics perceived by wearable healthcare device customers on purchasing attitude and customer satisfaction)

  • 본 연구는 웨어러블 헬스케어 디바이스 사용자의 지각된 가치(혁신적 가치, 실용적 가치, 상징적 가치)와 혁신 특성(혁신 저항, 가시성)이 구매 태도에 미치는 영향과 지각된 가격, 구매 태도가 고객만족도에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 현재 웨어러블 헬스케어 디바이스를 사용하고 있는 실사용자를 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였고, 최종 201부를 SPSS 25와 SmartPLS 3.0을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지각된 가치 중 혁신적 가치, 실용적 가치는 사용자의 구매 태도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치며, 상징적 가치는 사용자의 구매 태도에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 혁신특성 중 혁신 저항은 사용자의 구매 태도에 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 혁신특성 중 가시성은 사용자의 구매 태도에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 지각된 가격은 사용자의 구매 태도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 넷째, 지각된 가격과 구매 태도는 사용자의 고객 만족도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 본 연구를 통해 확인하였다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 이론적 시사점과 실무적 시사점 및 향후 연구 방향을 제시하였다.

복식색과 색조합의 이미지 지각(제1보) -여자 저고리, 치마를 중심으로 한 준실험 연구 - (A Visual Image Perception of Clothing Colors, Color Combinations of Borean Traditional Dress for Woman(Part I))

  • The purposes of the study were 1) to evaluate the visual image of colored Korean traditional dress for woman 2) to analyze the colors and, color combinations effect on the image perception using gestalt theory. The research method was a quasi-experimental with a between subjects design. The experimental materials developed for the study were a set of stimuli and a response scale. The stimuli was consisted of 17 drawings of females wearing Korean tradinational dress, by using CAD simulation. A response scale consisted of semantic differential scales. The subjects were 1138 undergraduate students of Taejon city, Chungnam province and Chungbuk province. Their responses to the semantic differential scales were analyzed using factor analysis, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, 1-test. Results were as follows; 1) The image of the stimulus was consisted of the 4 different dimensions.(sociability, evaluation, visibility, attractiveness) 2) Clothing colors had significant effects on image perception of the evaluation dimension, visibility dimension and attractiveness dimension in the mono-color set. The blue showed the most positive image on the evaluation dimension, and the yellow and the gray showed negative image on the same dimension. The yellow showed the most salient image and the gray showed the least salient image on the visibility dimension. The red showed the most attractive image and the green showed the least attractive image on the attractiveness dimension. 3) In hi-color set stimulus, the perceived image was influenced by color combinations. The yellow blouse-the red skirt set showed the most sociable image on the sociability dimension. The blue blouse-the green skirt set showed the most positive image on the evaluation dimension. The yellow blouse-the red skirt set showed the most salient image and the blue blouse-the green skirt set showed the least salient image on the visibility dimension. And the red blouse-the yellow skirt set showed the most attractive image on the attractiveness dimension. On conclusion the visual image of Korean traditional dress wearer was affected by dress colors and color combinations.

딥러닝을 이용한 외부 조도 아래에서의 시인성 향상 알고리즘 (Algorithm for Improving Visibility under Ambient Lighting Using Deep Learning)

  • 강한 외부 조도 아래에서의 디스플레이는 인간의 인지 시스템에 의해, 실제보다 더 어둡게 인지된다. 해당 문제를 소프트웨어 측면에서 해결하기 위한 기존의 기법들은, 외부 조도에 대응하지 못하거나 밝기에 비해 색상이 향상되지 못하는 한계를 보인다. 따라서 본 논문은 외부 조도 값에 따라 영상의 밝기 및 색상을 향상하는 시인성 개선 알고리즘을 제안한다. 해당 알고리즘은 입력 영상과 함께 외부 조도 값을 인자로 받은 후, 딥러닝 모델을 통한 luminance 학습 및 chrominance 복원 방정식을 적용하여, 개선된 영상의 열화 현상과 입력 영상과의 대비 차이가 최소화되도록 영상을 생성한다. 이는 정성적 평가에서 열화 모델링 적용 영상 비교를 통해 해당 알고리즘이 강한 외부 조도 아래에서의 시인성 개선에 뛰어난 성능을 보임을 확인할 수 있다.
