연결도를 이용한 보행네트워크와 보행통행량의 상호관련성 연구 (Relationship between Pedestrian Network and Pedestrian Volume Using Connectivity)

  • 보행통행량은 보행안전분석과 보행환경개선에 중요한 요소이나 교통 부문에서 보행통행량 예측에 관한 연구는 많지 않다. 도시계획분야에서는 네트워크 특성만으로 보행량을 예측하는 공간구문론(Space Syntax Theory)이 연구되어져 왔고 많은 연구에서 효과적으로 보행량을 예측하는 것으로 밝혀졌으나, Space Syntax 방법론을 이용한 보행량 예측법은 교통 부문의 네트워크 구성 방법이 상이하여 활용에 어려운 점이 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 교통의 관점에서 보행네트워크를 구축하고 이를 바탕으로 Dial 알고리즘을 활용하여 링크의 상대적인 중요도를 나타내는 연결도 개념을 도입하여 보행량을 예측하는 방법을 제시하고, 이를 인사동 및 숭례문 지역에 적용하였다. 분석결과 연결도와 보행통행량의 상관계수가 인사동의 경우 0.713, 숭례문의 경우 0.482로 상당히 높게 나타났고, 연결도 및 도로폭을 종속변수로 한 보행통행량 모형의 결정계수가 인사동의 경우 0.893, 숭례문의 경우 0.671로 모형의 설명력 또한 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 수치는 연결도가 보행통행량 추정에 있어서 충분히 설득력 있는 방법론임을 의미한다. 또한, 연결도를 이용한 보행통행량 추정법은 Space Syntax 이론에 의한 추정법에 비해 그 과정이 간단하고, 특정 소프트웨어를 사용할 필요가 없으며, 네트워크가 교통네트워크의 구축 방법과 같은 방법으로 구축되므로 연구대상구역의 가로망 체계 변화가 보행통행량에 미치는 영향을 간단히 추정해보는데 유용한 방법론이다.

  • There has been various pedestrian-friendly planning for making walkable cities. However, the representation of urban pedestrian spaces that should be the basis of the pedestrian-friendly planning tends to be far from reality. This is due to the absence of a consensual way to represent pedestrian spaces in the city. In this context, this study aims to propose a method to properly represent pedestrian spaces. For this purpose, this study first reviews the patterns of representing pedestrian spaces appearing on city maps and examines their merits and limits. After that, the criteria of pedestrian traversability and the mapping method are proposed on a trial basis for representing pedestrian spaces. Then, applying this to the case sites, Mokdong and Euljiro, this paper demonstrates how the operation of representing pedestrian spaces works. It is expected that the results of this study would be used as the basic foundation for a more developed representation of effective pedestrian-friendly planning.

공압 실린더 및 단순 링크기구를 이용한 충돌 보행자 보호 장치에 관한 연구 (Study on Pedestrian Protection device in collision using Pneumatic cylinder and simple link mechanism)

  • This study is on pedestrian protection device using pneumatic cylinder and simple link mechanism when vehicle collide with pedestrian. This study ensured the safety space between engine and hood after it applies to simple link mechanism and pneumatic cylinder. It can absorb the damage which measure the specific device if vehicle collide with pedestrian. Combination of simple link mechanism and pneumatic cylinder was more superior than the present pedestrian protection device. Simple link mechanism could confirm superior height and survival probability than when only cylinder operated. It also ensured enough space between engine and hood. And if a cylinder is not working because of old cylinder, poor repair or damage of accident vertical cylinder would be difficult to execute because there exists the irregular space between engine and hood. If simple link mechanism operates with only one cylinder it could ensure the regular space because simple link mechanism set up at the middle of hood. So this device could confirm high safety for pedestrian.

공동주택단지 담장공간을 이용한 보행자도로 설치 가능성 연구 (Pedestrian Road at the Wall Space between Old Apartment Sites)

  • 공동주택단지에는 주민편익과 안전을 위해 단지 중심을 관통하는 보행자전용도로가 필요하다. 그러나 과거에 조성된 단지들은 단지 사이가 담장으로 막혀 있고 보행자전용도로가 설치되어 있지 않아 편익시설이용과 안전상의 문제를 안고 있다. 주민들은 담장 주변의 공간을 비공식적인 보행로로 이용하거나 담장을 일부 철거하고 통행문을 만들어 대처하고 있다. 한편 최근에 건설된 택지개발지구에서는 단지 사이에 보행자전용도로를 설치하기 시작했다. 이러한 주민행태와 최근의 계획사례를 바탕으로 본 연구는 과거에 조성된 아파트 단지 사이의 담장을 철거하고 담장과 담장 주변의 녹지에 보행자도로를 설치할 수 있을 것이라고 착안하였다. 1990년대에 조성된 광주광역시 첨단지구의 저층 아파트 단지를 사례 대상지로 선택하여 담장과 담장 주변을 실측하여 보행자도로 설치를 위한 공간 확보 가능성을 검토하였다. 조사결과 아파트 담장 주변의 공간은 최소 2.4m에서 최대 8m까지 공간 확보가 가능한 것으로 나타났으며, 이 공간에 보행자 전용도로를 설치할 수 있다고 판단된다. 그러나 본 연구는 담장 공간에 보행자도로 개설을 위한 공간확보 가능성을 검토하는데 한정되었고, 보행자도로 설치로 인해 피해를 볼 수도 있는 주민의 의견을 파악하지는 못하였다는 한계가 있다.

보행자전용도로의 이용목적에 따른 만족요인 연구 (A Study on Satisfaction Factors of Pedestrian Road in Residence District according to Usage Purpose)

  • As serving people's activities, pedestrian road systems are basic and necessary facilities in urban structure. To provide and utilize these pedestrian road systems in residential area would enhance urban environment as well as quality of life. For this reason, pedestrian road should be planned by consideration of people's activity in residential area. Evaluation of existing pedestrian road should be also oriented how people use it and what people do in it. This study amis to investigate functions of pedestrian road system throughout evaluation of user's satisfaction in order to improve better pedestrian road system in residential area. The purposes of this study are to analyze components of factors affecting on user's satisfaction, and to find the relationship among affecting factors. For this study, the on-site questionnaire method was applied to 267 individuals who were collected as the study areas where locate Toyogaoka and Kaidori, Japan. The collected data were clarified exploratory factors, and analyzed relationship between the factors and satisfaction by applying quantitative statistical techniques for the mapping investigation, Mann-Whitney u-test, and correlation. The results of this study are follows. The pedestrian road system is more preferred than surroundings of vehicle roads in residential district area where maintains pedestrian road as open space. In addition, satisfactions of the pedestrian road for each purpose were highly evaluated, because of conformability and convenience for usage. Consequently, the pedestrian road which is secure and greening as an open space is well carried out for the living circulation of residents. It would suggest that pedestrian road have to be managed and planned not a function of circulation but an open space system.

농촌지역 면소재지 중심가로의 보행환경 평가에 관한 연구 - 전라남도 5개 지자체의 일반읍·거점면소재지를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Evaluation of Pedestrian Environment in the Main Street in Rural Area - Focused on General Town and Base Seat of a Myeon Office of 5 Local Governments in Jeollanam-do -)

  • This study is to find a way that improves the pedestrian environment in the main street in rural areas. The main streets of five local governments in Jeollanam-do, general towns and bases seat of a myeon office, were studied. The research results are as follows. First, all three groups under investigation required multi-purpose activities on main street. This is thought to be due to the maintenance of the main street with vehicle-centered maintenance, thereby revising the walking space around essential activities. Second, the simple size of the sidewalk width is not closely related to the safety of pedestrians, and it is judged that the pedestrian space should be maintained considering the size of the floating population, acceptable activities, and proper sidewalk width. Third, the center where pedestrian space and streetscape are maintained has spatial constraints on sidewalks and lanes, so there should be spatial flexibility. Also, it is necessary to find a way to minimize the occupancy of pedestrian roads due to ground parking lots in relation to pedestrian continuity. Fourth, improvement of walking environment should involve community activities other than physical improvement.

Pedestrian Distribution in High-Rise Commercial Complexes: An Analysis of Integrating Spatial and Functional Factors

  • One of the key problems in the design of high-rise commercial complex is how to guide reasonable pedestrian distribution in commercial space. In this study, pedestrian distribution in three high-rise commercial complexes in Shanghai and Hong Kong was studied using spatial configuration analysis software Space Syntax and quantification of physical elements in commercial spaces, such as functional attractiveness, entrances, escalators, level variations and passage width. Additionally, in an attempt to integrate functions with spatial integration and spatial depth, two combination variables, the spatial coefficient of function (IF) and spatial depth coefficient of function (F/D), were proposed. The results of the correlation analysis and multiple regression analyses reflected the following: (1) Regarding the influence on pedestrian distribution, there was a synergistic and complementary relationship between function and space; (2) The comprehensive flow distribution analytic model could successfully interpret flow distribution in high-rise commercial complexes and its R Square ranged up to about 70% in the three cases; (3) The spatial coefficient of function (IF) and spatial depth coefficient (F/D) could effectively integrate functions and spatial configuration, which could help close the gap between over-emphasis on function in commercial research and the lack of consideration of function in space-syntax analysis.

3차원 수직·수평 연결 네트워크 건축 공간분석을 위한 보행에너지 가중 Visibility ERAM 모델 구축 (The Establishment of Walking Energy-Weighted Visibility ERAM Model to Analyze the 3D Vertical and Horizontal Network Spaces in a Building)

  • The purpose of this study is to establish a walking energy weighted ERAM model that can predict the pedestrian volume by the connection structure of the vertical and horizontal spaces within a three-dimensional building. The process of building a walking-energy weighted ERAM model is as follows. First, the spatial graph was used to reproduce three-dimensional buildings with vertical and horizontal spatial connection structures. Second, the walking energy was measured on the spatial graph. Third, ERAM model was used to apply weights with spatial connection properties in random walking environment, and the walking energy weights were applied to the ERAM model to calculate the walk energy weighted ERAM values and visualize the distribution of pedestrian flow. To verify the validation of the established model, existing and proposed spatial analysis models were compared to real space. The results of this study are as follows : The model proposed in this study showed as much elaborated estimation of pedestrian traffic flow in real space as in traditional spatial analysis models, and also it showed much higher level of forecasting pedestrian traffic flow in real space than existing models.

  • To realize the above concepts of underground space, several underground facilities are concentrated upon and around subway stations in harmony with underground pedestrian walkways. As a result, the reduction of transit time and pedestrian distance make it easy to get to an object. In this study, underground space is considered not just as pedestrian walkways, but as space for various activities and as a positive element in connection with its circumstances. The purpose of the study is to understand underground space's elements and develop more aesthetic and efficient design of the space to give mental composure and familiarity to users. The development of underground connection space is one of the methods to improve the quality of the whole downtown area. This paper studied the general characteristics of connection space and space improvements after spot inspections and suggested several aspects useful for substantial design as essential data for development of underground connection space.

Space Syntax Theory를 반영한 덩굴망기반 확률적 보행네트워크 배정기법 (A Vine-Based Stochastic Loading Technique in Pedestrian Networks Considering Space Syntax Theory)

  • 도시부 보행네트워크의 보행성 평가를 위해서 Space Syntax Theory(공간구문론)을 반영한 보행모형 구축이 요구된다. 공간구문론은 통합도를 도출하여 보행로의 중심성에 대한 정량적 평가지료를 제공한다. 보행모형은 이동성, 편리성, 안전성의 보행지표로서 보행성을 나타내는 정량적 판단근거를 제시한다. 그러나 보행네트워크에서 공간구문론을 반영하기 위해서는 회전지체 반영을 위한 네트워크구축기법의 검토가 요구된다. 특히 기존의 연구에서 제안된 나무기반 Dial 알고리즘은 회전지체 반영을 위하여 네트워크확장이 요구되었다. 본 연구는 덩굴망기반 Dial 알고리즘과 공간구문론의 통합방안을 제시하였다. 덩굴망기반 Dial 알고리즘은 인접링크의 사이에서 발생하는 회전지체를 포함하는 3단계 수행과정을 수행하므로 네트워크확장의 우회가 가능하다. 따라서 공간구문론의 축노드와 축노드가 만나는 시각교차점에서 회전지체가 발생하는 상황에서도 네트워크의 변형을 최소화하면서 시각거리와 물리거리를 일치시키는 측면에서 덩굴망기반 Dial 알고리즘이 활용이 필요하다. 도시부도로와 같이 보행이 복잡한 권역의 평가를 위해서 활용이 가능함을 향후 연구로 제시하였다. 특히 사례연구를 통해서 제안된 기법의 수행과정을 도출하였다.
