DC chopper용 전류회로 개선에 관한 연구 (A study on the improvement of communiation circuit for DC chopper)

  • This paper treats the analytical and experimental studies on the improvement of commutating circuit for the speed control of DC motor. A simple circuit composed of R, L and C elements is proposed here for switching off power SCR carrying the load current. The real important in this chopper circuit is to determine the reasonable values of commutating circuit constants. In this paper, the reasonable values of the commutating circuit constants are basically determined on a view point of commutating performances in the given circuit model and must satisfy the following conditions. The first, the peak commutating current should be larger than the anticipated maximum load current. The second, the circuit turn-off time (tc) must be longer than the SCR turn-off time (tq). The third, the resistor should be enough large to permit the current to be neglected in the analysis of the commutation circuit, as well as be enough small to permit to charge the capacity voltage (Ec) to the half the value of source voltage (E) before the next communication cycle is initiated. The last, the period of chopping signal must be the least possible multiple of the damping vibration period of commutating circuit. The improved chopper circuit used in the experiment under unloaded condition was composed to meet the reasonable conditions mentioned above, and a successful commuting performance was achieved without failure. Several types of microprocessor having a different value of CPU speed individually have been applied to the experiment under the loaded conditions. Also it shows that the faster the speed of CPU is, the more stable the commutation turns out.

  • Effect of boron in GaAs have been investigated by photo induced current transient spectroscopy(PICTS). The starting material was undoped liquid encapsulated Czochralski(LEC) semi insulating GaAs and boron ion implantation at 150keV energy was conducted with dose of 10$\^$12/ and 10$\^$13/ions/cm$\^$2/. In ion implanted samples, the peaks related arsenic vacancy(V$\_$As/) were decreased but complex lattice defect was increased with annealing temperature. U band was observed at ion implanted(10$\^$13/ ions/cm$\^$2/) and thermally treated(550.deg. C) sample. More negative peak was detected after annealing at temperature between 600 and 700.deg. C. The measurement of dark current showed that the formation of B$\_$GA/-V$\_$As/, complex defect and complex lattice defect by ion implantation were a reasonable explanation for the decrease in dark current.

  • Cardiac chambers serve as mechanosensory systems during the haemodynamic or mechanical disturbances. To examine a possible role of fluid pressure (FP) in the regulatien of atrial $Ca^{2+}$ signaling we investigated the effect of FP on L-type $Ca^{2+}$ current $(I_{Ca})$ in rat ventricular myocytes using whole-cell patch-clamp technique. FP $(\sim40cm\;H_2O)$ was applied to whole area of single myocytes with electronically controlled micro-jet system. FP suppressed the magnitude of peak $I_{Ca}$ by $\cong25\%$ at 0 mV without changing voltage dependence of the current-voltage relationship. FP significantly accelerated slow component in inactivation of $I_{Ca}$, but not its fast component. Analysis of steady-state inactivation curve revealed a reduction of the number of $Ca^{2+}$ channels available for activity in the presence of FP. Dialysis of myocytes with high concentration of immobile $Ca^{2+}$ buffer partially attenuated the FP-induced suppression of $I_{Ca}$. In addition, the intracellular $Ca^{2+}$ buttering abolished the FP-induced acceleration of slow component in $I_{Ca}$ inactivation. These results indicate that FP sup-presses $Ca^{2+}$ currents, in part, by increasing cytosolic $Ca^{2+}$ concentration.

Electrical Characteristics of InAlAs/InGaAs/InAlAs Pseudomorphic High Electron Mobility Transistors under Sub-Bandgap Photonic Excitation

  • Electrical gate and drain characteristics of double heterostructure InAlAs/InGaAs pseudomorphic HEMTs have been investigated under sub-bandgap photonic excitation ($hv). Drain $(V_{DS})-,{\;}gate($V_{DS})-$, and optical power($P_{opt}$)-dependent variation of the abnormal gate leakage current and associated physical mechanisms in the PHEMTs have been characterized. Peak gate voltage ($V_{GS,P}$) and the onset voltage for the impact ionization ($V_{GS.II}$) have been extracted and empirical model for their dependence on the $V_{DS}$ and $P_{opt} have been proposed. Anomalous gate and drain current, both under dark and under sub-bandgap photonic excitation, have been modeled as a parallel connection of high performance PHEMT with a poor satellite FET as a parasitic channel. Sub-bandgap photonic characterization, as a function of the optical power with $h\nu=0.799eV$, has been comparatively combined with those under dark condition for characterizing the bell-shaped negative humps in the gate current and subthreshold drain leakage under a large drain bias.

  • A low energy large aperture(LELA) pulsed electron beam generator of a cold cathode type has been developed for environmental applications, for example, waste water cleaning, flue gas cleaning, and pasteurization etc. The operational principle is based on the emission of secondary electrons from cold cathode when ions in the plasma hit the cathode, which are accelerated toward exit window by the gradient of an electric potential. We have fabricated the LELA electron beam generator with the peak energy of 200keV and beam diameter of 200mm and obtained the large aperture electron beam in air. The electron beam current density has been investigated as a function of glow discharge current, accelerating voltage and radial distribution in front of the exit window foil. The plasma density and electron temperature have been measured in order to confirm the relation with the electron beam current density. We are going to upgrade the LELA electron beam generator in the electron energy, electron beam current and stability of operation for various applications.

  • The operational characteristics of flux-lock type high-Tc superconducting fault currentlimiters(HTSC-FCLs) was described and currents equation at each coil was derived from equivalent circuit. $YBa_{2}Cu_{3}O_{7-x}$(YBCO) thin film was used as the current limiting elements of the flux-lock type HTSC-FCL, which were fabricated by etching the YBCO thin film into 2 mm wide and 420 mm long meander line consisting of foureen stripes with different length. The 2nd peak on the current of coil 2 after a fault disappeared by current of the 3rd winding, which was installed in the flux-lock type HTSC-FCL.

  • Temperature and injection current dependence of elctroluminescence(EL) spectral intensity of the $In_{0.27}Ga_{0.73}N/GaN$ multi-quantum-well(MQW) have been studied over a wide temperature and as a function of injection current level. EL peaks also show significant broadening into higher photon energy region with the increase of injection current. This is explained by the band-filling effect. When temperature is slightly increased to 300 from 15 K, the EL emission peak showed red-blue-red shift. It can be explained by the carrier localization by potential fluctuation of multiple quantum well and band-gap shrinkage as temperature increase. It is found that a temperature-dependent variation pattern of the EL efficiency under very low and high injection currents show a drastic difference. This unique EL efficiency variation pattern with temperature and current is explained field effects due to the driving forward bias in presence of internal(piezo and spontaneous polarization) fields.

  • 유도기의 고정자를 직접 전력 계통에 연결하는 유도형 풍력발전기의 계통 연계시 과도 상태 돌입 전류의 크기를 줄이기 위한 새로운 소프트 스타터(Soft Starter) 제어 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 현재 국내에 가장 많이 설치되어 있는 정속 운전형 풍력발전시스템의 기본 구성을 살펴보고 특히 소프트 스타터의 계통 연계 알고리즘에 따라 발전 개시 순간 과도 상태 전류의 크기가 크게 달라짐을 확인하였다. 이를 위해 600kw급 유도 발전기를 포함한 정속형 풍력발전 시스템의 시뮬레이션 모델을 개발하였고 실험실 환경에서 제안된 알고리즘을 시험하기 위한 3.7kW급 모의실험장치를 제작하였으며, 소프트 스타터의 제어 알고리즘 개선에 의해 돌입전류의 크기가 약 20$\%$ 감소됨을 확인하였다.

  • Metal film type of resistor have been tested to invest maximum usable power at the pulsed high voltage and pulsed high current. Experiments were carried out using capacitor charging power supply and dump switch. Pulsed amplitude were varied from 1kV to 25kV. The peak current reached was 1kA. Datasheet are given for the limited pulsed power and energy for metal film type of resistor in nanosecond and microsecond time range. The experimental investigation of the threshold loading of the resistor in the high current and voltage pulsed mode has shown that the process of destruction of resistor has specific features for each mode. The mechanisms of failure and destruction of resistors under action of high-voltage and high-current pulses are discussed.

  • This paper investigates the relationship of voltage and current waveform between normal piezo injector and deterioration abnormal piezo injector. The experimental methods using Pico oscilloscope and GDS scan tool are employed to measure current and voltage waveform and fuel pressure of piezo injector. The experiment is carried out during no-load condition. A summary of the important results are as follows. 1) In case of normal injector, the fluctuation of duration time of piezo injector was linearly and regularly decreased with increasing engine speed, but the that of deterioration piezo injector was irregularly decreased with increasing engine speed. 2) In main injection, the peak value of the current waveform of abnormal injector was larger than that of normal injector, the duration time of deteriorated abnormal injector was less than that of normal injector at 800rpm and 1500rpm, but the duration time of deteriorated abnormal injector was larger than that of normal injector at 2000rpm and 3000rpm. This irregularity appears to be caused by the deterioration of the injector.
