  • The most optimal route-search algorithm thus far has introduced a method of applying node labels and link labels. Node labels consider two nodes simultaneously in the optimal route-search process, while link labels consider two links simultaneously. This study proposes a turn-label-based optimal route-search technique that considers two turns simultaneously in the process. Turn-label-based optimal route search guarantees the optimal solution of dynamic programming based on Bellman's principle as it considers a two-turn search process. Turn-label-based optimal route search can accommodate the advantages of applying link labels because the concept of approaching the limit of link labels is applied equally. Therefore, it is possible to reflect rational cyclic traffic where nodes allow multiple visits without expanding the network, while links do not allow visits. In particular, it reflects the additional cost structure that appears in two consecutive turns, making it possible to express the structure of the travel-cost function more flexibly. A case study was conducted on the metropolitan urban railway network consisting of transportation card terminal readers, aiming to examine the scalability of the research by introducing parameters that reflect psychological resistance in travel with continuous pedestrian transfers into turn label optimal path search. Simulation results showed that it is possible to avoid conservative transfers even if the travel time and distance increase as the psychological resistance value for continuous turns increases, confirming the need to reflect the cost structure of turn labels. Nevertheless, further research is needed to secure diversity in the travel-cost functions of road and public-transportation networks.

  • One of the key features of a mobile crowd-sensing (MCS) system is task allocation, which aims to recruit workers efficiently to carry out the tasks. Due to various constraints of the tasks (such as specific sensor requirement and a probabilistic guarantee of task completion) and workers heterogeneity, the task allocation become challenging. This assignment problem becomes more intractable because of the deadline of the tasks and a lot of possible task completion order or moving path of workers since a worker may perform multiple tasks and need to physically visit the tasks venues to complete the tasks. Therefore, in this paper, a hybrid search algorithm for task allocation called HST is proposed to address the problem, which employ a traveling salesman problem heuristic to find the task completion order. HST is developed based on the tabu search algorithm and exploits the premature convergence avoiding concepts from the genetic algorithm and simulated annealing. The experimental results verify that our proposed scheme outperforms the existing methods while satisfying given constraints.

  • The A* algorithm is a well-known pathfinding algorithm. However, if the information about obstacles is not exploited, the algorithm may collide with obstacles or lead into swamp areas unnecessarily. In this paper, we propose new heuristic functions using the information of obstacles to avoid them or swamp areas. It takes time to process the information of obstacles before starting pathfinding, but it may not cause any problems most of cases because it is not processed in real time. We showed that the proposed methods could reduce the search space effectively through experiments. Furthermore, we showed that heuristic functions using obstacle information could reduce the search space effectively without processing obstacle information at all.

  • In these days, public transportation has become important because of serious traffic congestion. But. there are few researches in public transportation compared with researches in auto. Accordingly, the purpose of paper is development of transit assignment model, which considers features of public transportation, time table, transfer capacity of vehicle, common line, etc. The transit assignment model developed in this paper is composed of two parts. One part is search for optimum path, the other part is network loading. A Genetic algorithm has been developed in order to search for alternative shortest path set. After the shortest paths have been obtained in the genetic algorithm, Logit-base stochastic loading model has been used to obtain the assigned volumes.

  • A collision-free path planning algorithm between an articulated robot and polyhedral obstacles using configuration space is presented. In configuration space, a robot is treated as a point and obstacles are treated as grown forbidden regions. Hence path planning problem is transformed into moving a point from start position to goal position without entering forbidden regions. For mapping to 3D joint space, slice projection method is used for first revolute joint and inverse kinematics is used for second and third revolute joint considering kinematic characteristics of industrial robot. Also, three projected 2D joint spaces are used in search of collision-free path. A proper example is provided to illustrate the proposed algorithm.

  • As techniques for indoor positioning, fingerprinting, indoor positioning method using trilateration, and utilizing information obtained from equipments by Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, etc are common and representative methods to specify the user's indoor position. However, in these methods, an indoor space should be provided with enough space to install a large number of equipment (AP, Beacon). In this paper, we propose a technique that can express the user's location within a building by simultaneously using the GPS signal and the signal transmitted from the beacon in a building structure where the conventional method cannot be applied, such as a narrow building. A shortest path search system was designed and implemented by applying the Dijkstra Algorithm, one of the most representative and efficient shortest path search algorithms for shortest path search. The proposed technique can be considered as one of the methods for measuring the user's indoor location considering the structural characteristics of a building in the future.

  • While doing games, units have to find goal And according to algorism, there is great difference in time and distance. In this paper the researcher compared and described characteristics of each of the improved algorism and A* algorism by giving depth-first search, breadth-first search and distance value and then argued algorism. In addition. by actually calculating the presumed value in A* a1gorism, the researcher finds the most improved value. Finally, by means of comparison between A* algorism and other one, the researcher verified its excellence and did simple path-finding using A* algorism.

  • The navigation problem of robot is one of the main themes to deal with conficts or interferences between obstacles and the robot itself In this case, while the robot avoids obstacles on the space, the passage route should be determined efficiently. In order to solve problems above, we have come up with the distance field space medel (DFM) and then, under known environment, we have presented the distance field A algorithm for passage route path search. In this research, the method of performing the 3-dimensional passage route path search of robot under unknown environment is proposed. It is shown that the authors can build the distance search model the does not need space division by taking into account of sensor information to a distance field space model, and constructing this information as virtual obstacle information.

  • For educational and research purposes, a Korean speech recognition platform is designed. It is based on an object-oriented architecture and can be easily modified so that researchers can readily evaluate the performance of a recognition algorithm of interest. This platform will save development time for many who are interested in speech recognition. The platform includes the following modules: Noise reduction, end-point detection, met-frequency cepstral coefficient (MFCC) and perceptually linear prediction (PLP)-based feature extraction, hidden Markov model (HMM)-based acoustic modeling, n-gram language modeling, n-best search, and Korean language processing. The decoder of the platform can handle both lexical search trees for large vocabulary speech recognition and finite-state networks for small-to-medium vocabulary speech recognition. It performs word-dependent n-best search algorithm with a bigram language model in the first forward search stage and then extracts a word lattice and restores each lattice path with a trigram language model in the second stage.

  • This paper proposes a method of solving a unit commitment problem using tabu search (TS) which is heuristic algorithm. Ts is a local search method that starts from any initial solution and attempts to determine a better solution using memory structures. In this paper, to reduce the computation time for finding the optimal solution, changing tabu list size as intensification strategy and path relinking method as diversification strategy are proposed. To show the usefulness of the proposed method, we simulated for 10 units system and 110 units system. Numerical results show improvements in the generation costs and the computation time compared with priority list, genetic algorithm(GA), and hybrid GA.
