빅데이터 분석 도구 R을 활용한 효율적인 특허 검색에 관한 연구 (A study on the efficient patent search process using big data analysis tool R)

  • Due to sudden transition to intellectual society corresponding with fast technology progress, companies and nations need to focus on development and guarantee of intellectual property. The possession of intellectual property has been the important factor of competition power. In this paper we developed the efficient patent search process with big data analysis tool R. This patent search process consists of 5 steps. We result that at first this process obtain the core patent search key words and search the target patents through search formula using the combination of above patent search key words.

특허 시스템의 정량 분석을 위한 시스템 다이내믹스 모형 (A System Dynamics Model for Quantitative Analysis of Patent Systems)

  • In this paper, a system dynamics model for explaining the application, grant and maintenance of patents is provided. Existing literatures regarding the patent application system are mostly econometric approaches that consider only economic variables such as GDP and R&D. The model in this paper includes patent variables such as disputes as well as economic variables. Moreover, we show that the model can be used in not only a quantitative prediction but also policy experiment. The results of the policy experiment shows that strengthening protection of patents tend to increase the propensity to patent more than R&D investment.

  • 일반적으로 기존 연구와의 중복성을 피하고 독창적인 연구를 진행하기 위해서는 연구자들은 사전에 특허정보를 분석하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 풍력 발전에 대한 현재의 동향을 이용한 등급 기준 개발을 주요국의 기술 위치, 국가별 피인용비와 시장력 확보지수, 특허 포트폴리오 분석, 특허 출원인 국적 분석을 통하여 수행하였다. 이러한 특허 정보 분석은 앞으로 풍력발전의 연구 개발의 방향을 결정하는데 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

  • 특허분석은 전 세계적으로 축적된 특허 데이터베이스로부터 기업의 연구개발 전략에 필요한 지식을 추출하는 것이다. 현재까지 특허출원 결과를 분석하여 해당기술에 대한 기술동향과 전개과정을 파악하여 향후 개발될 기술에 대한 방향정립을 위하여 특허분석은 필요한 결과를 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 특허분석과 관련된 방법 및 시스템에 대한 기술 분류를 수행하고 관련된 국내특허와 미국특허, 그리고 IEEE 논문을 조사하고 분석한다. 특허분석시스템은 기술 분야의 특성상 특허출원뿐만 아니라 연구결과의 논문발표도 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서 선정된 검색어를 통하여 최종적으로 검색된 결과를 이용하여 기술 분류에 따른 분석을 실시한다. 유효한 전체 특허와 논문을 대상으로 특허분석시스템에 필요한 공백기술을 찾아내기 위하여 매트릭스분석을 수행한다. 현재까지 등록된 특허분석시스템에 대한 기술발전 동향을 파악하고 앞으로 필요한 특허분석시스템 관련 기술발전 방향도 제시한다. 통계적 검정과 자기조직화 지도를 이용하여 유효 특허와 논문을 정량적으로 분석하여 국내특허, 미국특허, 그리고 논문 내에서 상대적으로 개발이 취약한 기술을 찾아내고 이에 대한 개발의 필요성도 함께 제시한다.

  • 세계가 하나의 시장으로 통합되면서 국제표준은 기업의 생사와 국가경제에 막대한 영향을 미치고 있다. 특히 정보통신분야에서 표준은 더욱 중요한 의미를 가진다. 기업들은 자사에 유리한 표준을 확대하려고 할 뿐만 아니라, 표준에 특허 등 자사의 지적재산권을 반영하려고 노력하고 있다. 이를 통해 자사의 기술을 보호함과 동시에 시장에서 점유율을 확대하려고 한다. 본 논문에서는 정보통신분야에서 대표적인 국제표준화단체인 ITU-T와 IEEE의 표준에 포함된 특허에 대해 살펴본다. 특허 데이터 분석은 특허 활동의 현황과 향후 방향에 대해 이해할 수 있는 의미 있는 연구주제이다. 국가별 특허 보유 현황과 기관별 특허 보유 현황을 기준으로 특허 데이터베이스를 분석하고, 특허 데이터베이스의 자세한 분석 결과와 그 의미를 제시한다.

  • Patents are system to promote the development of industry by disclosing technology. The importance of recent patent is being emphasized. For this reason, companies apply for many patents. And they analyze the patent. Patent analysis helps to protect and foster their technology. Previously this method has been carried out by experts. Expert-based patent analysis, however, has the disadvantage of being time-consuming and expensive. Consequently, we try to solve this problems by developing prediction model. Therefore, this paper proposes a data-based patent analysis method using quantitative indicator and textual information. We confirmed the practical applicability of the proposed method through 1,831 autonomous vehicle patents. As a result, it was possible to confirmed that safety and lane detection related technologies are important.

  • Hydrogen storage is widely recognized as a critical enabling technology for the successful commercialization. There are a few different approaches for hydrogen storage technology. In this paper, characteristics of hydrogen storage technologies were analyzed from the literature survey. Also, The technology trend of hydrogen production was scrutinized based on patent analysis. In patent analysis the search range was limited to the open patents issued from 1996 to 2006. The technology trend of hydrogen storage was assessed by classifying each patent based on the publishing year, country, and the type of storage technology.

  • As the 4th Industrial Revolution emerged as a key to improving national competitiveness, OCR technology, one of the major technologies in the 4th industry is in the spotlight. Since characters in various images contain a lot of information, OCR technology for recognizing these characters has evolved into technology used in many industries. In this paper, trends in OCR technology were identified and predicted using thesis data published in 'RISS' and patent data by International patent classification (IPC) under the theme of Optical character recognition (OCR). For patent data 20,000 patents related to OCR technology from 2002 to 2020 were used as data, and 432 papers from 2012 to 2022 were used as data. Through time-series analysis, each patent data and thesis data were investigated since when OCR technology has developed, and various keyword analysis predicted which technology will be used in the future. Finally, the direction of future OCR technology development was presented through network association analysis with patent data and thesis data.

The Procedural Benefits of Arbitrating Patent Disputes

  • This paper considers how various types of patent disputes can be more efficiently resolved through arbitration, rather than litigation. For this analysis, it takes three types of patent disputes as a control sample - contractual disputes, infringement disputes and FRAND disputes - and assess how these disputes can be better resolved through arbitration in terms of several criteria, namely, the suitability of the decision-makers, the number of forums in which disputes have to separately decided and enforced, procedural flexibility and confidentiality. The paper takes into consideration that certain types of patent disputes, such as infringement disputes and FRAND disputes are unlikely to be subject to pre-existing arbitration agreements. In these types of disputes, parties may make the decision between arbitration and litigation based on strategic and tactical concerns, rather than legal ones. The paper concludes that, given this limitation, it is not possible to categorically state whether arbitration is more suitable than litigation for resolving patent disputes. The most sensible course to follow in adopting arbitration for patent disputes is for legal advisors to be familiar with the intricate benefits and pitfalls of arbitration in patent disputes, and to actively consider referring a dispute to arbitration over litigation after a dispute has arisen.
