Vibration Measurement and Flutter Suppression Using Patch-type EFPI Sensor System

  • An optical phase tracking technique for an extrinsic Fabry-Perot interferometer (EFPI) is proposed in order to overcome interferometric non-linearity. Basic idea is utilizing strain-rate information, which cannot be easily obtained from an EFPI sensor itself. The proposed phase tracking system consists of a patch-type EFPI sensor and a simple on-line phase tracking logic. The patch-type EFPI sensor comprises an EFPI and a piezoelectric patch. An EFPI sensor itself has non-linear behavior due to the interferometric characteristics, and a piezoelectric material has hysteresis. However, the composed patch-type EFPI sensor system overcomes the problems that can arise when they are used individually. The dynamic characteristics of the proposed phase tracking system were investigated, and then the patch-type EFPI sensor system was applied to the active suppression of flutter, dynamic aeroelastic instability, of a swept-back composite plate structure. The proposed system has effectively reduced the amplitude of the flutter mode, and increased flutter speed.

  • On-line phase tracking of an extrinsic Fabry-Perot interferometer (EFPI) and experimental vibration control of a composite beam with a sensing-patch are investigated. We propose a sensing-patch for the compensation of the interferometric non-linearity. In this paper, a sensing-patch that comprises an EFPI and a piezo ceramic(PZT) is fabricated and the characteristics of the sensing-patch are experimentally investigated. A simple and practical logic is applied for the real-time tracking of optical phase of an interferometer. Experimental results show that the proposed sensing-patch does not have the non-linear behavior of conventional EFPI and hysteresis of piezoelectric material. Moreover, it has good strain resolution and wide dynamic sensing range. Finally, the vibration control with the developed sensing-patch has been performed using Fuzzy logic controller, and the possibility of sensing-patch as a sensoriactuator is considered.

  • 내설악 전나무림 현황을 조사하고 이를 통하여 산림 생태계 이해방식을 비판적으로 고찰하였다. 조사는 1996년부터 2006년까지 수행된 것으로 일종의 중간보고서로 작성하였다. 임분의 수직구조 위주로 조사하였으며 비록 내설악 전나무림에 한정된 것이기는 하나 고전 천이론 보다는 Stand dynamic이 산림생태계를 설명하는데 적합하다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Malware Containment Using Weight based on Incremental PageRank in Dynamic Social Networks

  • Recently, there have been fast-growing social network services based on the Internet environment and web technology development, the prevalence of smartphones, etc. Social networks also allow the users to convey the information and news so that they have a great influence on the public opinion formed by social interaction among users as well as the spread of information. On the other hand, these social networks also serve as perfect environments for rampant malware. Malware is rapidly being spread because relationships are formed on trust among the users. In this paper, an effective patch strategy is proposed to deal with malicious worms based on social networks. A graph is formed to analyze the structure of a social network, and subgroups are formed in the graph for the distributed patch strategy. The weighted directions and activities between the nodes are taken into account to select reliable key nodes from the generated subgroups, and the Incremental PageRanking algorithm reflecting dynamic social network features (addition/deletion of users and links) is used for deriving the high influential key nodes. With the patch based on the derived key nodes, the proposed method can prevent worms from spreading over social networks.

Dynamic displacement tracking of a one-storey frame structure using patch actuator networks: Analytical plate solution and FE validation

  • The present paper is concerned with the design of a proper patch actuator network in order to track a desired displacement of the sidewalls of a one-storey frame structure; both, for the static and the dynamic case. Weights for each patch of the actuator network found in our previous work were based on beam theory; in the present paper a refinement of these weights by modeling the sidewalls of the frame structure as thin plates is presented. For the sake of calculating the refined weights approximate solutions of the plate equations are calculated by an extended Galerkin method. The solutions based on the analytical plate model are compared with three-dimensional Finite Element results computed in the commercially available code ANSYS. The patch actuator network is put into practice by means of four piezoelectric patches attached to each of the two sidewalls of the frame structures, to which electric voltages proportional to the analytically refined patch weights are applied. Analytical and numerical results coincide very well over a broad frequency range.

  • 전나무의 천연갱신 형태를 임분의 특성과 연관하여 내설악 길골 총 30지역에서 조사하였다. 임학적 의미의 천연갱신은 주로 예전에 인공적 교란이 있었던 곳에서 나타나며 자연림의 특성이 강할수록 오히려 의미를 상실한다. 이것은 인공적 교란이 천연갱신에 더 나은 환경조건을 제공하기 때문으로 보인다. 이와는 달리 자연림에서 갱신단계는 인공림처럼 명확할 수 없고 잠시 나타났다 사라지는 상태이며 세대교체는 임분구조 변화의 일부라는 표현이 적합하다. 특히 patch dynamic이 임분구조를 결정하고 주 구성수종이 음수인 전나무 자연림에서는 인공림에서 사용되는 천연갱신 개념은 원천적으로 의미를 상실할 것으로 보인다.

Active shape control of a cantilever by resistively interconnected piezoelectric patches

  • This paper is concerned with static and dynamic shape control of a laminated Bernoulli-Euler beam hosting a uniformly distributed array of resistively interconnected piezoelectric patches. We present an analytical one-dimensional model for a laminated piezoelectric beam with material discontinuities within the framework of Bernoulli-Euler and extent the model by a network of resistors which are connected to several piezoelectric patch actuators. The voltage of only one piezoelectric patch is prescribed: we answer the question how to design the interconnected resistive electric network in order to annihilate lateral vibrations of a cantilever. As a practical example, a cantilever with eight patch actuators under the influence of a tip-force is studied. It is found that the deflection at eight arbitrary points along the beam axis may be controlled independently, if the local action of the piezoelectric patches is equal in magnitude, but opposite in sign, to the external load. This is achieved by the proper design of the resistive network and a suitable choice of the input voltage signal. The validity of our method is exact in the static case for a Bernoulli-Euler beam, but it also gives satisfactory results at higher frequencies and for transient excitations. As long as a certain non-dimensional parameter, involving the number of the piezoelectric patches, the sum of the resistances in the electric network and the excitation frequency, is small, the proposed shape control method is approximately fulfilled for dynamic load excitations. We evaluate the feasibility of the proposed shape control method with a more refined model, by comparing the results of our one-dimensional calculations based on the extended Bernoulli-Euler equations to three-dimensional electromechanically coupled finite element results in ANSYS 12.0. The results with the simple Bernoulli-Euler model agree well with the three-dimensional finite element results.

  • When vehicle travelling along the track which has irregularity such as vortical profile, dynamic forces arise at the Wheel/Rail contact patch by wheel/rail interaction. In particular short wavelength irregularities on dipped joint and small stiffness of connecting rail bring about intense wheel/rail dynamic effects at higher speed.   • The aluminum alloy 6061-T6 has been successfully used in structural applications especially the pressure vessel of the Advanced Neutron Source research reactor. And aluminum alloys, including 6061-T6, have a face-centered-cubic crystals structure. Under normal circumstances face-centered-cubic crystal structures do not exhibit cleavage fractures even at very lo9w temperatures. In aluminum-based structures, plates frequently find use as connecting links. Mechanical fasteners are often utilized in instances where ease of application, familiarity with fabrication processes, and severe dynamic loading are of concern. Plates frequently find use as connecting elements in structures built from aluminum alloys. Many structural elements employ mechanical fasteners. Twenty and twenty aluminum alloy 6061-T6 plates, representing four different bolt patterns, were mechanically deformed. And variable materials such as A1 6061-T6, Al 2024-T3, Carbon/Epoxy, Glass/Epoxy Composite and Woven fiber composite, are used as patch materials. From this experiment, it has been shown that the strength of patch-repaired specimens is different with the patch materials.
